The place is horrible. The owner is horrible, the employees are horrible customer service is a fluke if it happens. They will lie to your face and never blink of have any problem with it whatsoever. Avoid Stephen, and the old chinese guys, they are lazy order takers not salesmen. The place is a rip off and if you need service you are on your own. GO across the bridge to Economy Restaurant Fixtures, worth the drive not to be treated like an inconvenience.

This business has lied to me, given me misinformat...

This business has lied to me, given me misinformation, yelled at me, hung up on me and refused to come to a mutually agreeable resolution.

The supervisor on call even said, "please report me so they will fire me, I hope they fire me".

Stay away from this terrible business, they are not to be trusted.

Here is a copy of the email I sent to the owner for which I received NO response.

Hi Jonathan,

I am hoping you can help me.

I reached out to your company with an order in May. I asked for a table that would be adjusted to be the same height as my counter and was told by your sales rep Ming that I would have to bring the table to be cut down at a local metal worker. I reached out to John Boos directly today and was told that they cut down tables all the time to match counter height with casters.

In addition to Ming giving me misinformation, I was yelled at and incorrectly told my order was already delivered by the supervisor on call today in your office. When I asked why I had never received a tracking number I was yelled at and actually hung up on. This is no way to treat a new customer.

When I called back the supervisor refused to connect me with the owner and actually said "please report me, I hope they fire me".

I am upset that I was given misinformation about the company's inability to cut the table down to counter height.

I am shocked your supervisor who claimed customer service is the most important thing would yell at me and then hang up on a new customer and also refuse to connect me with another supervisor. I am irritated that your supervisor refused to connect me with you directly though I repeatedly asked to speak with the owner.

I am disappointed the tracking number was entered incorrectly in your system and I was incorrectly told that the order had already been delivered which caused me further unnecessary stress.

I reached out to John Boos again directly and was told the order has shipped and they have no way to shorten the legs at this point.

I am terribly upset with the shopping experience at your company.

Please contact me as to how we may resolve my dismay and disappointment with your company, one solution will be to cover the cost of having the legs shortened at a local metal shop which quoted me $85 as I originally requested. If you are unwilling to cover this cost by means of refunding part of my order cost I expect a full refund and will take my business elsewhere.

I would hate to have to leave a negative review, report you to the Better Business Bureau and report your business to my credit card company.

I am confident that together we can resolve my grievances in a productive and acceptable manner.

Thank you for your time and your help resolving these issues in a prompt fashion.

Amazing, magical place. If you're a professional OR home cook and need any cookware, appliances, knives etc. then look no further. Awesome super friendly and thorough customer service, great prices. They had the exact model of Food Processor I needed and it was $30 cheaper than Amazon.

I ordered online from Chefs First / East Bay Restaurant Company - I had a wonderful experience with the customer service representative I reached out to with an inquiry, Jamie Rodriguez. I experienced an issue with my order and Jamie really went above and beyond to work with the manufacturer and also keep me informed on a regular and consistent basis to resolve the issue. You can tell that he really values the customers and wants you to have a good experience, which is often rare when ordering online which can in itself be a very impersonal experience. I am very grateful for the time and attention that was paid to my order and look forward to ordering from here again!

Purchase a unit after 3 day of purchase machine have defects machine stop working went to store asking for refund.
Person who made a sale was African American gentleman name Stephen when I went back to store asking for refund he said " If I do return I have to do a lot of paper work so can you call the company and ask for warranty?" I reply back machine broke in 3 days after I purchase so don't be lazy and do the job please?
Than he called the Asian lady manager named Loan(leung or Long. store refuse to give me her name spelling ) she came over and said "I have to pack and return the machine to the company do you know how much work that is ? (why all the workers in this store complain about their job to the customers?) She offer me to buy the different machine which cost $300 more than my original price. I told her I don't want to pay more I'm here to get refund since you sold me broken machine she said "I'm not going to give your money back." than she walk away without helping me after that. only option I have is get a replacement machine. They gave me a open box machine that was on display and looks really used and told me to go away now and if you have any problem talk to manufacture not the store.
worst company ever! DO NOT BUY ANY MACHINE FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!
