The train ride is one of the most amazing experiences I ve ever had. My wife and I rode the train to and from Silverton. The scenery is really beautiful and the attendants were so nice and friendly. I would highly recommend the train ride to anyone. It is like taking a step back in time and very well worth it. Durango and Silverton are two of the most amazing places to visit.

We rode the polar express, the ride last for about 30 minutes! And basically the train just move for about 2 miles forward and back! Kind of pricey for such a little period of time!

This train station setup was neat but not my thing. We did it once and will probably not do it again. The guides were great and the experience is great if your looking for a long chill train ride with great views. We had small kids with no attention span so it was tough to entertain them for the 2 hours this took.

Loved Durango so much. Silverton is a very short visit town. The town closes up at 4:30 and doesn't open until the next day when the train comes again. Just ride the train up and back, dont stay in Silverton.

The trip was interesting and had scenery that you can't otherwise see. We were in a enclosed car with a person who told us interesting stories and histories of the train and area. BUT it is a very very long trip if you take the train both ways (like 7 hours or more). I recommend that you take the train to Silverton and return by bus.

What an amazing treat. A real coal fueled steam powered locomotive up into the beautiful mountains. The day couldn't have been more beautiful. The staff was very attentive and you can even have adult beverages. Do it. You wont regret it

Not worth the same basic price paid. In Silverton there are only low-end restaurants and souvenir shops made in china very expensive. In short is not worth the detour and 2 nights hotel for this activity to 230th to 2

We road tripped to Durango for winter break. The narrow gauge train ride was a highlight. Because it was winter, we didn't go all the way to Silverton. Even so, the ride offered amazing sights only accessible by train. My entire family, including kids 8, and 11, loved the experience.

We took the bus to Silverton and the train back to Durango. We sat on the left side on the train in an open-air gondola, which I would definitely recommend. The autumn views were so beautiful! The soot is no joke, so bring some sunglasses and a hat.
