If you like rude staff that make you feel uncomfortable, AND unwelcome when you come to buy things... this is your spot. Second visit with the same results. I'm never coming back.

Well designed original California made clothes and surfing equipment
I've been Mollusk clothing for several years online now and this was my first time at the store. It was one of the few shopping places on my vacation "to do" list". The vast majority of their stuff is Cali made, which I respect immensely and originally drew me to buy from them. Also, their sweaters and shirts are beyond comfortable.
The employees were really cool when we were there. My wife and I told them where we were from and that this was a special trip for us and they gave us a free shirt, and played my favorite record over the PA.
Made out with a bunch of sweaters, shirts, and gifts for friends and family. If I ever find my way back to Cali again I'm certainly making another trip.
I know nothing about surfing. Actually I don t know much about swimming either. Growing up my parent s version of swim lessons was throwing us into a pool and telling us not to drown. That didn t turn out so well. Or maybe it did, because after two close encounters, I m still alive! It makes me wonder whether swimming is like learning a new language it s just not that easy after age 5. But with all the fun water sports and great exercise that comes with, perhaps it is time to learn. Let s not forget all the great accessories that comes with a new hobby! Mollusk Surf Shop in the Outer Sunset not only sells custom surf boards and clothes, it is also a vibrant culture of creativity and artistry. Being surrounded by all these great things, I had to admit to myself: my wallet is not big enough for my heart.
Such a gorgeous shop and the boys are so sweet! I went in just a few minutes before closing to ask about boards/surfing/how to get started. Both people working were really sweet and helpful doling out advice- where to start trying to surf, what kind of board to look for, how to apply the wax once I found one, etc. Loved their selection of t shirts- super soft and I can tell that washing it is going to turn it into one of those soft, long wearing favorite t's. All made in CA, reasonably priced at $35, and all the prints are to die for, so good luck not spending $400 on t shirts- I sure wanted to!
Cool selection of boards, love walking in here to take a look at whatever they've got in stock. Their clothing label is pretty nice and reasonably priced for the quality. Staff are always friendly.
Real SF surf shop. Their clothing is top and love the tees. Now doing lots of wholesale (see Mr. Porter). Awesome to be able to come to brick and mortar in the Sunset.
Nice pleace, full of surf clothes, tables and all the accessories, not rent.
yo homie. i am customer not someone who just showed up to your local peak and backpaddled you. don t act too cool for school. you don t rip as hard as you think you do. have some manners and respect or i ll think twice about buying a 60 dollar t-shirt. i love mollusk but some of these recent hires/groms think they can bring their cool guy air reverse attitude to their retail job. i ll update this after i have some more positive experiences but until then....be nice and serve your customers.
They are a cozy place with unique t-shirts and high quality surfboards.
Closed for renovations. Would be nice if the website was updated for this fact.
Sold a surfboard here. The guys were really nice and got us a good price.
Full of tips, they know their boards very well.
If I'd be back in SF, I'll surely pop by again.
Guarantee none of these boys punt lol, walked in asking to rent a board for a friend from out of town. They said no and nobody will rent if it's big. I said it's barely head high, they laugh and say tomorrow is gonna be way overhead... It was about chest high the next morning.
great shop with great boards and gear and helpful staff - worth a pilgrimage if you are visiting Sanfransisco
The people were rude and were staring at us the whole time I asked a question about something and they acted like I was an idiot and when we walked in no one said hi or even smiled at us.
Enjoyed the apparel choices here. Friendly service as well!
Worst experience ever. My husband & I surf for many years and this has been the worst buy with gone in years of a longboard. We bought a new longboard from them, asked it to be shipped to Florida. We were charged by Mollusk 250 for shipping and the board came broken with a ding. The answer from Corinne & Chad from ththe shop was "it's a ding, get it fixed", I wouldn't have bought a new expensive longboard if I have to get it fixed, right? A bad customer service is understated.
Good staff. Decent selection of clothes and local boards.
Good price for moneys for wetsuit.
Boards are mainly local shapers and there are only few used one (with mainly highe quality fishes around 500)
