Very poor hotel. No tea / coffee making in the room. Told we couldn't use the bar Saturday afternoon to watch Munster match cos the wedding crowd using. Disgraceful. Are we not paying guest too?. Some bar staff have no manners. Drinks way over priced. Not going there ever again!

At first they put us in a luxury room (even though we booked an executive room) so we were disappointed right away. The first room was hot and we were put in a room above the lobby that was facing the street. It was so incredibly noisy that I couldn t sleep...AT ALL. On top of that you could hear through walls so I heard my neighbors talking and their TVs all night. There was no art in the luxury room and poor lighting. Guest services did nothing the first 3 times we complained. It wasn t until after I went down to complain at 1 am, and my husband spoke to the manager the next morning, that management did anything. They finally moved us to a nice and quiet jr. suite and wrote an apology.

At a wedding. Drinks reception in the garden was a nice setting. Well organized. Bar is small but service good. Hors d'oeuvre s were tasty but sparse for the attendance. Room was comfortable. Nicely decorated. Meal was nice without being spectacular. Service was average at best. Overall a nice place for a wedding. Could improve quality of the food.

We stayed at the dunraven our last night in Ireland. We were flying out of Shannon the next day. First thing I noticed about the hotel is how old it is and you could smell the age throughout all the wonderful hallways. Looking at the royalty that had stayed the night before such as prince Harry and Michael Douglas showed me what a special place we had found.

Only problem was each outlet had its own light switch bit I assume this is meant to save energy, and was only a minor inconvenience.

We had a few pints in the hotel bar which was relatively empty. There was some Gaelic sports on the telly that were absolutely mesmerising. I asked the barkeep what it was and he informed me it's called Gaelic Football. To me it seemed a mix of soccer, rugby, hurling, and dodgeball. Quite lovely. The rooms were very nice bit I don't understand why none of the hotels had sheets. I found the big comforter too hot and that was my only option to keep warm at night. This was the case at all hotels we stayed in Ireland and not just the dunraven. We didn't stay at the dunraven too long but it was an overall great experience and we had no trouble getting to Shannon and catching our flight out the next day.

Beautiful old style hotel with traditional food and hospitality. Roast beef is really wonderful. Loses a star only because it's expensive but if you have the money it's great and still better value than some of its competition in the area.

Great hotel. I enjoyed several breakfasts and dinner at their restaurant and the food was delicious. Always a variety at the morning buffet with fresh sliced ham roast. As like most historic hotels there was no air conditioning. We were traveling during a unusual heat wave. They provided a fan .

Love the atmosphere in the bar and restaurant .
Lunch (hake) was beautiful - potato portion a little small.
Excellent service from every person 100% of the time.
Room is huge - WiFi signal drops and TV picture was low res- but was slick and span and tasteful .
My biggest gripe is the narrowness of the range of craft beers in the bar.
I would be a loyal but intermittent customer . Would always come back .
A unique establishment .
Price was very reasonable as well .

Very nice stay. Only 2 little problems, 1) Directions from the carpark very small and was hidden by a car parked in front of it. We walked all the way around the hotel before entering the hotel from the rear. 2) Very limited bar lunch menu. Everything else about our stay was perfect.

Lovely hotel in the countryside that has retained it's charm and character despite being a really nice high quality hotel. The staff are really friendly and attentive and the food is divine! Love going here for events and even for a quiet drink. Well worth a visit!!

We stayed in a Junior Suite and it was awesome. Very spacious and well appointed. There were sweets in our room with a handwritten welcome note from the manager! The room was dark and quiet, and the bed extremely comfortable. The staff were incredibly helpful. I really couldn't fault it.
