Had my wedding reception / party here recently. I cannot speak highly enough of the venue, staff and service. Went above and beyond, so attentive to make sure day was perfect. My wife and I could not be happier and we are excited to revisit for many years to come. The Murphy's that run the place (Louis and Hugh) are incredible. You can tell they take great pride in everything and that comes across with every person there. Thank you!

Traditionally known for its quality of service, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. At dinner we waited so long between courses that we asked twice to have our plates cleared and next course delivered. It was only done after we had stacked our own plates, and then we waited 17 mins for our next course to arrive (we actually timed it as other guests were also complaining at this stage). The bar service was similarly slow - except for one staff member who was exceptional and went out of her way for us. We had also requested vegan meals - they were very mediocre most particularly because we had been wowed on our trip at the amount of places that had served us incredible dishes with top quality ingredients and the ingredients in this occasion were very poor. That said the bed was very comfy.

We enjoyed the whole experience.
Large twin room on the 2nd floor, separate bathroom and dressing room, great shower. Beds very comfy, lovely view over fields. Bar food great. Restaurant beautiful evening meal, breakfast very good, something for everyone. All staff very welcoming, friendly and courteous with attention to detail at all times. We hope to return.

Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Food was fine. They bake their own breads which was the best part of our meal. Apart from this the food was nothing special. Coffee is very good. Child friendly too.

The glory days are long gone from this hotel. The building is in bad shape. The staff is not friendly. The Irish breakfast was at the bottom of the list of our 8 day stay in Ireland. I would not recommend staying here.

We booked this hotel directly late in the afternoon in high season. Our room was in a loft type area of the hotel but was still enjoyable. It's 200 years old so shows the footsteps of the past with its character. The Irish award winning Breakfast included was amazing and a real treat. All in all very charming and staff were lovely.

I appreciate this place for its grandiose park, with old trees with various species allowing shading in the car parks surrounding a hotel part of 5-star services with high gastronomy, accompanying customers in Mercedes and filtering their arrivals for a reception custom

Great location close to a great Restaurant called 1826 fab food. The Staff are friendly. When booking hotel 'Caveat emptor' prices are subject to availability but probably don't exist. I'd question their newspaper adds. Needed to say that and it is a great experience.

Worked there for a small bit under the owner, Louis. An absolutely obnoxious, self-righteous bell-end of a man. Demanded he addressed as Sir or Mr Murphy by his staff. A supercilious man who looked at all his staff as inferior to him.
