We have been eating here for 30 years, We have always looked forward to the first morning in Waikiki breakfast at Duke's. Last two years have been total disappointment. Food overcooked, very dry, cook making omelets the rudest. Juice use to be included with breakfast, not any more, and the wait staff has no clue. Had to go the front of Dukes to get coffee refills from the complimentary coffee container. Would be nice if someone from Dukes would reply and care about what's going on.

Our table was outside with perfect ocean views. Our server, FANTASTIC and so enthusiastic. She was spot on with our order and was really conscious of our food allergies. She made sure the kitchen and staff were aware and our food tasted great. I ordered a Burger with the infamous BBQ sauce, the portion size was perfect and cooked just right. We were able to substitute fries for salad. They offered a gluten free bun which was fluffy and warm! Our guests enjoyed some vegetarian items as well, such as the hummus and salads. I definitely recommend this restaurant for those suffering from food allergies and looking for a place to eat while traveling this great city! If you don't have allergies, I recommend the buffets here. They have a great variety of items for all to enjoy.

Have been twice, was a 5 the first time and a 1 the next. It's a really cool place and the drinks are good but food is hit or miss. Had the mango burger the first time and it was great; the second time I had a nacho which was absolute trash. I ordered 3-4 minutes after my friend ordered her well-done burger and eventually got my nacho around the time she was finishing her food. The delay was long enough that the waitress asked if I had had it already by the time she came around again, and it came out several minutes after she asked me about it. That's all fine, but the nacho itself was clearly forgotten and then microwaved in a rush. The cheese, while not likely good on it's best day, was bubbly everywhere and stuck to the paper even under the (cold) chips, which were soft and soggy, and all of these things are consistent with being microwaved. Nowhere on my cold plate of soggy chips was there anything to indicate it had been put in an oven, no browning, no crisping, nothing. Having made my fair share of nachos both ways it's pretty easy to tell the difference. Regardless, if they by some chance were baked or toasted and I'm mistaken, they were still soggy, cold and on par with something made from old chips and imitation cheese in a dorm room microwave.
TL;DR- nachos were disgusting trash but burgers and drinks were really good. I thought I found a new favorite beach place but I don't see myself going back anytime soon.

We came for the brunch buffet and it was fantastic. There is so much selection and everything was fresh and delicious. The Duke's signature mimosas were only $5 which was a plus! I recommend the French toast and the omelette bar

The mai tais are well done. This is a large establishment that is well run. Don't come here looking for a cozy atmosphere. Having said that, if you're looking for a fast paced, big name establishment that definitely has their niche locked down then this is the place for you.

We love Duke s. 4 stars is stretching it a tad, but the food and service is good. This particular Duke s is very busy with a lot of hotel traffic at breakfast. Even so, we had a nice breakfast here this weekend. You can fill up at this buffet with plenty of entrees to choose from. The French toast is really great and has an Island flare.

I didn t have the patience for the long line at the omelette station, but a snagged a few bites of my wife s and it was very good.

I f you re at Duke s for any other meal than breakfast, splurge and get the Hula Pie (or two of them - lol).

FANTASTIC RESTAURANT

FANTASTIC RESTAURANT
First time visiting Hawaii spent wife's best friend's 50th birthday & booked dinner here for 6 of us. WOW Is all I can say. This place is PACKED EVEN WITH A BOOKING. We had over 40 minute wait to be seated. A lot of seafood on menu if you are a Seafood lover. Steak was delicious. Have a salad bar for anyone wanting salads. We had band come over & sing to friend for her birthday. We ordered the Hula Pie for her birthday cake. OH FOR ALL YOU DESSERT LOVERS THIS IS TO DIE FOR YUMMMMM Should have ordered 2 for 6 people not 1 :) Evening was lovely we were sat inside restaurant not on the sand like we had hoped to watch the sunset but still ok.

We arrived at 6:30pm and were seated around 8pm...our server was amazing!!! I'm sure she worked all day but she made it seem like we were her 1st and only table. The food was fresh and delicious! Our dessert topped off the evening! It was a great way to celebrate my 5 year anniversary with my husband and our family. Great atmosphere! Our night was magical!

The breakfast buffet is not good for tourists from Korea and neighboring countries. Only for those who are busy due to early schedule or bothersome to go out .. Outrigger Waikiki guests who have 15% coupon in the room. If it's not there,

I think this is a chain, but it's still a good place to eat. There are some unique dishes and drinks. Great service. We came in off the street, but it's cool that it is open to the beach. Laid-back atmosphere. I got a fish sandwich made with whatever fish was fresh that day and it was way better than I expected. We also got the poke appetizer and it was more like poke nachos, but very tasty. If you're looking for a quick, tasty lunch in Waikiki, I definitely recommend this place.

My entire family came in for a birthday party, my nephew parents sister brother-in-law and close family friend's came in and they carded us and told my nephew since his id looked fake and in Hawaii he didn't have a passport or any other form of picture id that we couldn't get a drink. We are outraged and will not be returning again. We understand liquor license law. But when your grandparents, parents uncle and other family show up and obviously a valid form of GOVERNMENT identification show up you would assume they would provide you some sort of service. So if you want mediocre food over priced everything this is the place for you

The best part of this place is the view. Service was friendly and fast. The salad bar was exceptional. It's a bit pricey for the portion size but the view and the service are worth the price. If you are looking for the Hawaii experience then you have to visit dukes.

Great view, great food, great service. The three things you need to make a great beach side restaurant are at Duke's. All the tables can see the beach, so you won't be disappointed to eat here. The menu has a good selection, and even our picky kids were happy with their food choices. The service is good, and they were on top of keeping our drinks full. We'll be going back next time we visit.

1) Your in Waikiki

1) Your in Waikiki
2) The ambiance is AMAZING- I mean the beach is RIGHT there; and usually theirs a live band
3) Recognize that A) they are always packed and B) Your on Island time. I.E. I wasn t given any water or attention until about 7 minutes after I was seated. It was an additional 15 minutes before I received my drink and about 45minutes when my Calamari came out. I did not eat an entree because my bill was roughly $35.00 with the Calamari and 1 Mai Tai. (Which was a decent Mai Tai)
4) I d recommend it as a must just because it s famous- but try to hit it when it s not as busy (not near dinner or lunch)
5) The Calamari was SO GOOD!!!!

We went for the breakfast buffet, which while it is reasonably priced by Hawaii standards, it honestly wasn't worth it based on the quality or variety of the food offered. The food was very plain, no flavor. Eggs benidict was cold and rubbery, the eggs were clearly instant and not fresh. Oatmeal tasted like cardboard. The only thing we enjoyed was the bread pudding and fresh fruit. The only reason I didn't give less stars was the service was friendly. We normally avoid Waikiki due to limited cheap parking and throngs of tourists, but heard Dukes was a great breakfast place and wanted to take family who were visiting from out of state. this experience just wasn't worth fighting the traffic, tourists and the $5 and hour parking.

Always very busy. Good food reasonable prices. Overlooking the sandy beach. Good service. There is a history relating to this restaurant. If you are at Wikiki you should stop here. Duke's is short for Duke Paoa Kahinu Mokoe Hulikohola Kahanamoku
