I m getting high for breakfast, real high @duckandwaffle . It s a 24 hour restaurant on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower with a 180 degree spectacular view of looking out at South East London.
Their signature dish is the duck confit leg served on a waffle and top with a fried duck egg. It s got a slight crispy skin and a very delicious dense meaty leg that goes well with the fluffy waffles. You have to order duck and waffles @duckandwaffle right?

Reservations here are highly recommended and you make it two months in advance.

One of the best views of London. It is no wonder why it is very popular destination. The service is average but the food is good, albeit on the pricier side. However, expected given its location and view. I tried the famous duck and waffle. I really enjoyed the dish and would go back just for it, but not for those who don't like mixing salty and sweet foods. The waffler could have been warmer, however. A good selection of desserts as well, particularly the Torrejas, which they suggest for two. However, if you are feeling hungry, I think one person can demolish it!

Can t fault this restaurant s standards and their value for their customers. I had booked in advance for a table as it was my best friend s birthday. On the day, we were running half an hour late, and so proceeded to contact the restaurant 2 or 3 times to update them on our situation. We agreed we would be there around 9:45 but we arrived at 10:00. To our surprise, they still kept our reservation, and still gave us a window seat with probably the best view in the entire restaurant! The staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was unbeatable. Worth every penny and time.

I had a great experience at this popular place. Had a 11:45pm reservation and even in the early hours of the morning, the place still had a lot of activity. The restaurant boasts some of the best views in London and is situated in an area that utilizes this very well. The decor of the restaurant was decent and the food is delicious if not a little pricey. The cocktail menu is quite small and unfortunately I did not enjoy the two cocktails I ordered but the cocktails do show some creativity. The staff are very enthusiastic and helpful. I would gladly go again another time.

It seems like Duck & Waffle focuses more on maintaining their level of pretension than the quality of their food. Not to say the food is bad - it's not, it's fine. But it isn't mind blowing and doesn't warrant the price or the fuss. Also, given that their staff is all wired up with walkie talkies, I was quite surprised it took 25 minutes and asking 3 separate people to get the bill...shouldn't one of them have walkied to the person with the card reader? Or are the ear pieces just for show too?

A great big duck holding a waffle in his beak. I was quite taken aback by this ornithological irregularity and poked the fowl with a long stick. Upon receiving the prod, the dastardly duck dropped the tasty treat and lunged for my left armpit. I threw in an elusive sidestep and made off with the waffle. A scant reward for my troubles.

Mediocre food. Mediocre staff. Mediocre views. The lift was the most entertaining part, would ve given 3 stars if they offered more rides up and down. Our waiter didn t know how to pour water into a glass, splashed it EVERYWHERE. Had to grab our own coats at the end because the staff were too busy standing around doing nothing. Food was well presented and tasted okay, but the portions weren t worth the price, when compared with the quality of the establishment and the price on the menu.

Service was ok, but too keen to get us out and turn over the table (to the point where glasses were being cleared and we still had half a bottle of wine). Main was lovely but dessert was atrocious. Amazing views and lovely decor.

A very special day out. The location & views wonderful. The food excellent. The greeting & service extremely poor (hence only 4 stars). We did not allow this to spoil our much anticipated meal, but we all felt let down. A meal is the whole package, food & service primarily, followed by location. Unfortunately the Duck & Waffle failed to deliver on the service, appearing to rely primarily on location and secondly on food. We won t rush back, especially as there are many excellent restaurants to choose from, albeit without the views.

Heard the restaurant from a friend. Tried to book a table few days ahead but told only available would be in the breakfast in early morning 7:30 for the weekend. When we arrived finding plenty tables and trying to get a table near the window, but the bus lady refused the request rudely. The restaurant has great views but a little far from our table. The food is nicely prepared.

I had a horrible experience with the staff and the food. We waited so long for the whole roasted chicken and it wasn t even that great. Waste of money. There were too many waiters standing around, our waiter was all over the place and he was not knowledgeable about the food on the menu.

I've only ever been to the Duck and Waffle bar which has some of the best view of London without the hefty price tag that you would expect. A great option if you want a few drinks with jaw-dropping views of the city.

The view is absolutely amazing , especially if you wait till sunset. I do think the menu is quite limiting and the alcoholic drinks are super expensive. I got the duck and waffle, the duck was cooked beautifully. It's a very nice venue I will visit again in the near future.

This was my second visit to Duck & Waffle, let me tell you it was just as delicious as the first visit. Wonderful food, great service, and to top it off an amazing view. We will be back again, just may be in a year or two.

A one time must try. The views and innovative menu goes hand in hand. Service is very good and is an excellent place for special occasions or just a treat. Open 24/7. Make advance reservations for a decent breakfast time.

Using a wonderful view as an excuse for average service very poor ambience and overpriced unhealthy awful food is unacceptable; the only thing to do is leave this review and never return plus never listen to recommendations from the same person again !

First, service here is poo. But it's expected because people loving coming here. I've avoided it like the plague because I thought this was yet another style over substance establishment, but my god did the food surprise me - the confit de canard was amazing. So incredibly crispy and rich and ducky. It's actually on the level of Comptoir Gascon. Let me quickly caveat this all by saying I came at 3 am and was pretty drunk lol. The maple syrup was watered down which actually works because I find maple syrup overly sweet - the mustard seeds were surprisingly good with the syrup. I shall admit that I was wrong and that the food here is actually pretty good!

Reserved online for breakfast at early morning. Quite popular with local as well as tourists.
(+): great location to have drink and view of busy London. Staff are friendly

Food taste was ok but little bit pricey compared to portion(I am not eating a lot). View from dining table is not that great due to its direction. Only view from elevator was great. Even with reservation, we had to wait 10 minutes.
I would rather go sky garden.

The best dish was Foie Gras Creme Brulee, a must to order if you're here! The mushroom on toast I ordered was another good plate, beyond my expectation. Other food were acceptable for the taste. Duck & Waffle one was average, just duck and just waffle.

View are great, many people come to celebrate or for special occasion, especially local people.

Many Thais visited this place. And honestly to my Thai fellows, I think we can just find a similar restaurant or better one in Thailand.

Staff were, ummm, some were good some were just doing their jobs and nothing more. Water serve were unprofessional, drink spill and stuff. When you said something to the staff (the one that served us) we don't really know whether he got what we say or not. He was just so friendly with other Caucasians but so cold to Asians. (Or maybe just to us?)

One of the best views of London and The Gherkin. This cafe or restaurant is an absolute gem in which we had great breakfast and could enjoy the view in the best weather. A reservation is required!

Spectacular place and impeccable food. The only drawback was the bill for the initial cocktail (the price was not specified) and that left us speechless (33 pounds for two empty glasses and 4 olives). For the rest, kind and professional staff, magical atmosphere.

Its wonderful to come back once again. However, the receptionist is servicing without a smile. But Nacer who is servicing my table is great. He recommended a fish to us and even offer to cut it up. He is friendly and always carry a smile.

Food is great. Duck & waffle is a must. However, if you are sharing, dont bother cutting for each other. Just eat straight from the plate while its hot!

Make sure you book in advance and I'd even go as far as checking you booking with them as I've had a time it said booked online but didn't go through. Perfect place for a meal with a friend/date especially if they are visiting London as you don't get a much better view! Try the Duck and Waffle dish.

Fantastic place for a special occasion or an informal lunch as well as cocktails. The view is spectacular, the food very good and creative, the staff friendly and professional. breakfast time is the best, their colombian scrambled eggs really a wonderful dish, and the waffles (both savoury and sweet) are delicious. It does require advance booking!

Amazing views ! Staff = awful service mostly. Rude and pretentious unnecessarily and no vibe from staff! Very bad attitude ! The Sommelier was the only nice guy, he was awesome and helpful. Everyone else was either weird, couldn't speak loud enough or were just uninspired. Small plates - ace. Bread - amaze. Mains - rubbish pub food. Go for views, cocktails and starters. Bring your own energy as staff have none !

There's nothing to complain about - on a London trip with my parents we had a very delicious breakfast (I had a normal hot chocolate with the Caramalized Banana dish-only available from 6-11am). And of course, from the 38th floor, the view of London was amazing!

24hrs serving restaurant.

There are 4 different menu every day.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper.

They are all slightly different but always have the signature duck & waffle.

Like the supper menu where they have the duck egg en cocotte

Never fails.
