On the whole pretty much what I expected from what I had heard. The food was mainly good and the service friendly other than the unsmiling wine waiter who I think tried to upsell my choice of wine by asking if I knew that it was sharp. Wines were pricey but this is what I would expect from this type of establishment. However whatever you do avoid the Kir Royale. Having asked for only a small amount of Cassis, what came was half of glass of warm frothy syrup!! I would also probably give the suggested tea that was optional with the duck and waffle a miss. Surprisingly the bread was one of the high spots. There are lots of good restaurants where you would get much better food for less cost but not 40 floors up. So for a special event worth going to.

Chicken was dry and super buttery. Would not go back again, would not recommend to people. A lot of miscommunication, very unreasonable staff. They are incoherent and it was disappointing to say the least. I was mortified by the staff ignorance to my allergies.

A window seat is what you want here, the views are the highlight for most of the experience. Until the food comes, and it is great, the signature Duck & waffle drizzled with maple syrup for an extra flavour bang.

Set on the 40th floor of Heron Tower, it offers exceptional seasonal cuisine with with 360 degree views of our fair city.

I went for eggs florentine with waffles and duck and waffle with fried duck egg and mustard maple syrup.

Come on, how could I not order the restaurant s namesake?

Delicious!

Went for a late dinner. I was pleasantly surprised by great views, service, and food. Everything was at the level I would expect for a great restaurant. Should be a contender for a Bib Gourmand.

We stumbled into the building to avoid the rain at 3 am and did not realize until we arrived at the actual restaurant that it was a high end place. This was nothing like the American midnight diner that my friends and I were expecting and craving. We did not make a reservation nor did we wait longer than 10 minutes for a table. The staff kindly seated us in a booth and we enjoyed the beautiful night view of London. There were just a couple parties around us. The food was good, but a lot of their dishes are unconventional and not vegetarian-friendly. Would definitely come back here to dine during the day if I visit London again.

Turned up after midnight without a reservation and waited 45 mins for a table, only to walk into a half empty restaurant which was never full during my entire meal. The signature duck and waffle came with a cold tough waffle. The service was lacking i.e the server took my order, then disappeared for the rest of my meal. They did proactively hand me the bill after I had finished eating. The restaurant charges an additional 13.5% for service.

It's pretty basic stuff for a decent evening meal. Kinda noisy during the busier times, could do with some soft furnishings. Had my tasty beer served in a warm glass straight out the dishwasher though.. not fun. Manager was kind enough to swap it, but bar person should really know better. It you're after something fabulous, I'd go elsewhere. Mediocre place, mediocre dry duck and waffles. Our medium stake was pretty rare too..

This place is amazing. The experience is exactly what you expect, view is probably one of the best in London.

Staff very friendly as well.

Food (breakfast) is good, but not super generous. Would be happy to pay a bit more for bigger portions.

Great venue, you're treated like royalty! Friendly staff with an accommodating attitude, prices are reasonable considering the fantastic quality of the food, I obviously had a duck and waffle! Great views of London!

The lift is probably the best bit. The booze is of cause expensive however the staff are attentive. The views north are good from the bar however south are just of more tower blocks, no view.

Beautiful and spectacular view of London.

The delicious duck but the waffle with an egg on top ... hummmm !!!
The time limit of one hour they give you to eat is not pleasant.

Very nice place. Small men's bathroom and off-duty when served. I found myself with the air conditioning not working and the heat was unbearable. The courses are well cooked and good. The costs are above average but you eat on the 40th floor with a view of all of London

The best thing in this place is the amazing view. Cocktails are very good but over priced dishes in the restaurant. My food, San Pietrino fish was not cooked, they told me: ...is because the kitchen is closing this shift . unbelievable!. The service is really no good as well except for a Croatian waiter who was very nice to us. Very bad manager.

Yeh ok worth the hype. Had a great time going for brunch here, the views are amazing and the food was great. Of course its pricey but what else can you expect given the setting. Perfect for a nice occasion!

Certainly worth a visit just because it is there. There are bars on the way up and the food once you get there is good, pigs ears, my recommendation. Staff are wonderful and welcomin. Views around London should be great but it was misty when I was there. Part of the fun is finding the entrance, views on the way up are great too!

Awful venue, 15 pounds a drink, badly mannered bar staff, table not ready on time, left without eating dinner, that s how bad it was. So rude, ruined a special occasion. Shame on all of you. The manager was called but did absolutely nothing.

This restaurant really put a bad taste in my mouth. From the unpleasant front door staff who could not even muster a smile to the waiter who demanded a service fee for their mediocre service (if you can even call it that). Food was average, but apart from the nice view, I would not be recommending Duck and Waffle to anyone unless the restaurant can improve their standard of service.

You should try their signature dish which is Duck & Waffle of course!

East London staple. Never disappoints and food and service are consistently good which is the one strenght of a good restaurant. Worth the fuzz I would say! Always have the duck and waffle. Staff are also generally fun and aways willing to take a picture with great views of London.

Booked this restaurant thru web during my business trip to the city. I've got confirmation email and read only the title and thought that booking is done. My time was 9:45pm and get there at the time and they rejected bc of the dress code. If they really cared about the dress code that much, than they should make a confirm call as the restaurant operates 24 hours and many part of the customers visitors who cant tightly check the email or the details of the restaurant. I can easily think they wont last longer with that kind of careless and arrogance.

Really liked the whole experience from the London skyline at night to the bar/waiting area to Duck and Waffle itself. The food was was tasty and was served in a timely manner. The only negative was having an over zealous waiter who wiped our table one too many times knocking over and breaking a glass of drink. They replaced the drink so no harm done! Went on bank holiday Sunday and the atmosphere was lively and fun. Will definitely revisit!

My boyfriend and I went for my birthday. We got the best table in the house at the back in the middle. The two seater tables have best views. Amazing service, food was delicious duck and waffle I could eat every day and lamb shank was so succulant, simply fell off the bone. Desserts were just so good. Dont be fooled by the words carrot cake it was soooo good. Can not wait to go back! 5

Before you get on the elevator there is a little security (you are wanded) to pass through. The elevator is a fun way to start the evening! Although there are a few larger tables by the windows, most of the window tables are for two. I have been here two times--once during breakfast and once in the afternoon. I liked the afternoon menu a little more, but both times my food was excellent. The ox cheek doughnut and the duck and waffle were fantastic. I tasted my friend's ravioli and I thought is was only okay. The drinks were expensive but good. It is nice to go a little early and sit at the bar to enjoy different views. You must have reservations. (well, perhaps if you go from midnight to 6 am, you can get in.) Reservations open 2 months in advance.
