Our Mortgage was transferred to this company and we have had horrible customer service, they have sent us no notification about where to mail our payment nor have we received the "welcome package" they said they would send with our payment coupons, I have called them a 2nd time to tell them we still have not received anything and the customer service Rep basically called me a liar and told me we would be assessed a late fee!! Keep in mind this company has NEVER sent us any information that they are now our mortgage holder the only notice we received was from Fannie Mae informing us our mortgage was transferred from one company to another...why arent you given a choice who you want to hold your mortgage??? We will be looking to refinance ( even though we havent even made the first payment on our home) just to get away from Dovenmuehle Mortgage!@

I'm a new customer with this company. So far things have been just OK. They're not exactly free with information so I had to call them. Even though I have hearing problems, I did receive some satisfaction by telephone. I'm trying to find a way to set up an account with them online but find their web page to be very unhelpful. Moreover, I find no way to contact them by email UNLESS it's referring their business to someone. That I won't do until I receive much more satisfaction from them. I could try calling again but my hearing problems make that too much of a frustrating chore. From the few posts I've read so far, I guess I can consider myself to be very lucky; some of the reviews are downright scary. I hope someone at that company reads these reviews. Then maybe they'll try to help me in connection with the property located in the Tampa, FL, area.
They run on Windows 7 .. your info is safe. You will regret doing business with DMI. They will lose your money, won t work with you in any way. Please don t do business with Dovenmuelhe Mortgage.
These guys are corrupt and worthless!! REFINANCE IMMEDIATELY if you get transferred to them!!!!!! They double dip payments and over draw your bank then say sorry we're taking the money and if you want it back file a dispute!!!! I'm a disabled vet on a fixed income who gets paid 1 time a month so now I'm broke till they decide to refund my money!! AVOID This company like the plague!!!
Horrible company with even worse customer service. I have been put on hold for 45 minutes only to get hung up on, yelled at and talked down to by a "manager" Jim (JWG), been promised to have a late fee waived only to find it wasn't, and more. This is a horrible company with a horrible reputation and everyone should do their absolute best to avoid doing business with them at all costs. They have made a business of being crooks by sneaking in hidden fees and ignoring their customers' complaints and will squeeze every penny they can get, out of you. Do business with them at your own risk.
Horrible company!!! My mortgage was purchased by Dovenmuehle and I did not receive any information about my mortgage. I discovered they had my loan after switching Insurance companies a month after I purchased my house. I called multiple times to have information sent. Information was never sent. This company makes it your fault when they fail to send out information. Dovenmuehle never takes responsibility. I would not choose this company to service your loan. However, the consumer has no choice when your loan is purchased. Do not choose this company for any product that you have the ability to purchase directly from them!!! Stay away if you can!!! Unfortunately I am stuck with Dovenmuehle. PS: I still have not received any information about my loan from Dovenmuehle.
I've been attempting to connect with this company for a week straight. Every day holding at least 20 minutes. I've not gotten through to a single person as of yet. My autopay was stopped for some reason and now my payment is late. I did not make a request to stop my autopay or authorize the change.
The website will not allow me to make a payment or reset my autopay. It's pretty useless.
I just refinanced my mortgage with a local bank and after the process was complete I was notified that my mortgage processor would DMI. After reading the reviews online, to say I was a little worried was an understatement. June 1st was when my first mortgage payment was due. I went to their website the previous week and scheduled my payment for June 1st. I received an email thanking me for my payment. Well on June 2nd I checked my online account with DMI and I noticed my payment was not showing. I thought that was strange, but I told myself to give them till the 3rd before I contacted them. The evening of the 2nd I received an email from them letting me know that for some reason my payment had not been applied to my account as it should have been and that they were going to back date it to the correct date. Needless to say, i'm not looking forward to next month, when my homeowners insurance is due. I have feeling that it is not going to be paid on time and that I am going to have to contact them about that. It's a good thing i work at a law firm just in case i have to sue them.
UPDATE - I wrote them to request PIM removal from loan and about 3-weeks later I received a removal PIM confirmation- great service, easy-straightforward communication /////////// 2-years of service from them so far good. I pay on time online, never needed to contact them. They always pay my home insurace & taxes on time. However, soon I my debt will be under 80% of home purchase value on a conventional loan and I will contact Dovenmuehle Mortgage to remove PIM. Let's see then (useless app - it crashes as soon as you open it)
pretty sure i have had 9 mortgage companies in my adult life and none of them caused me any problems except for dovenmuehle. There is almost no communication, their website would have fit in on the internet 25 years ago, and when they do communicate (via mail) they get it wrong.
We have been trying to get our claim through for over 10 days to get a new roof that our insurance has approved. Nobody will return our calls or reply to our emails. It is a terrible experience!
The worst experience ever. I m a first time home buyer and I was on hold for over 3 hours!(hung up because they said they re now closed) How is this acceptable? Still have yet to get in contact with them after multiple days of being put on hold for over an hour. Why would I send a payment to a company who doesn t have time or common curtesy for customers?
Take a moment to read these reviews, the bulk of the awful practices they put in place, I've seen them do to us. The only reason they are in business is to take your money, then your home. They have no compassion for anything that may put you behind, and WILL NOT HELP WHATSOEVER. They do not communicate your options when they make a decision (one based solely on if they can make more money or take your house from you (or both if they can get it)). The practices made by this company are the reason the housing market fell in the first place, and if we allow this to continue it WILL happen again; mark my words.
EVERY TIME my insurance renews, I pay it out of pocket, the company sends proof, THEN DOVENMUEHLE CHARGES ME FOR MONTHS for whatever insurance they choose, I spend MONTHS proving the insurance is paid, they FINALLY stop charging me, NEVER refund what they've taken, insist it's in my escrow, but it NEVER reflects, and WHY are they taking taxes and insurance out when I PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET??? The hell are they doing with the escrow money??? I pay $500/year for flood insurance... We're going on year three of them attempting to charge me $2,500/year for flood insurance :/ The monthly charges are about what I pay PER YEAR for flood insurance... that being paid for months before they stop. I'm not sure what magical thing it is that even STOPS it. It never gets refunded or reflects in my escrow account. I HAVE CALLED and their customer service person invariably tells me it's in my escrow. Nothing changes. Nothing. It doesn't reflect and it is not refunded. I cannot afford this AT ALL! It's a hardship EVERY YEAR!!! Every year, I double check with my insurance company. Every year, they send proof multiple times before it's fixed. Every year!
I'm well known in Chicagoland real estate & construction circles. I know a couple of people who work at Dovenmuehle. With intimate knowledge of this market, I can honestly say; AVOID this toxic organization at all costs! Abysmal is a description, that immediately comes to mind. Criminal, is another. It is owned and staffed by the worst kind of people; incompetent and corrupt. Organizations like this were wholly responsible for the 2008 real estate & construction meltdown (aka: "The Great Recession") . . . . and will trigger the next. Most companies have at least one redeeming quality. Not Dovenmuehle. They are the worst of the worst. There are so many other financing options available to you. Dovenmuehle should NOT be one of them. Avoid them like the plague. I write this review in hopes that Dovenmuehle ceases to victimize customers and/or exist. I've seen too many harmed by their nefarious tactics. Although dismal; this assessment is honest . . . . a quality lacking at Dovenmuehle. I hope it's helpful. Good luck!
Impossible to get through to the loss Mitigation department..automated system basically says they are busy and then disconnects your phone call....customer service representatives dont have the info and basically just listen to you...when you do ieceive a response from loss Mitigation it invites you to send an email or call which is what i originally mentioned...people need assistance...this doesnt even take into account the hoops you have to jump through after having sent various documents
I am trying to confirm if the company got the tax information I faxed on March 16, 2020 followed by emailing on March 24 because they couldn't confirm they got the fax. I just want to make sure everything is ok. The phone number only leaves a recording now and the emails are non responsive. IS ANYONE HOME?
Absolute garbage payment options. They do not allowed you to split payments online and do not allow you to pay over the phone more than once in two days or some completely arbitrary period.
My mortgage was unfortunately transferred to this bank. The worst bank I have ever dealt with. Just one example. They send me a notice that my payment has been received, but nowhere on the notice does it even say Dovenmuehle, so I have to guess who it is from. Do they even realize how bad this looks? Do they even read all these bad reviews and try to improve? I suspect not, because they are too ignorant and uncaring about the real world. No Hope.
Worst customer service ever!!! It's not that the people are rude. They just don't know ANYTHING!!! And if you ask for certain departments, they just say they don't have phones or emails. In 2018, it is ridiculous that you can only speak to one department and that department has zero access to answers or other people who could get them. If you have your mortgage with them, try to get it moved. It is a read headache!!
Have been working with them for 3 years to get my name off my ex-wife's house. Just to get a hold of someone to answer an email or get transferred to the right supervisor is impossible. They simply do not care. They want as many people on a mortgage so they can hold many people accountable if the mortgage defaults. Also they are not military friendly and do not care about deployments, credit scores affecting security clearances or anything like that. DO NOT USE!

I wish I could give 0 stars! Worse company ever! They put me in a forbearance program that I never requested and are ruining my credit. My mortgage payments have been made in time but I can t get loans because my credit report shows I m in a forbearance program! I have emailed three times with no response from their credit department.
I call and can never speak to a supervisor. They tell you a supervisor will call you back but the supervisor never does at this point I can only assume that this is being done on purpose so that they can trap their customers in loans they don t want people to refinance because of the low interest rates this is despicable.
There is currently a class action lawsuit out against Wells Fargo for the same thing I m getting a lawyer!
Our morgage just got sold to this company, I googled it and can not believe their ratings are in the toilet. Our payment was due Feb 1, but we have not received a statement, they said I would be good till April 1 because of some issue with the statements not being sent out in January. The gentleman I spoke with was very kind, and knowegble, I hope they have improved, I don't need a company messing with my money, we pay on time and have good credit. Keeping my fingers & toes crossed.
Horrible customer service and horrible company policies. I'd give this company negative stars if I could. Mortgages get sold regularly without homeowners having a choice, but if you have a choice in choosing your mortgage company, do yourself a favor and choose another. I closed on a property 6 weeks ago and have still not received the check for the balance of my escrow proceeds. I've called Dovenmuehle twice and was told that their policy is that 15 days must go by before they can issue a new check. When I called for the 3rd time today I was told that 30 days had to elapse from the time the check was issued. This is 30 days beyond the 2 weeks Dovenmuehle took to issue the check in the first place. Run don't walk away from this company.
This place is awful. I had to do a mortgage forbearance due to the hurricane... long story short I couldn t get anyone to go over the detailed breakdown of the final loan modification.. so I feel like I got sent to the cleaners.. they drug their feet for 4 months putting the final loan modification together, then give me like a week to sign it lol! Meanwhile they tell me I do not have to pay until the documents are finalized, then report me to the credit bureau for non payment!! I have over 800 credit score and have never missed a payment on anything..ever.. I read all the reviews and was like they don t seem that bad to me fast forward a few months... I couldn t have been more wrong
Horrible customer service. I ve been trying to figure out why I ve received email confirmations for my last two online mortgage payments and the funds never left my bank account, and have not gotten a response. The last three phone reps (today) were unhelpful and didn t seem to have the bandwidth to troubleshoot my issue, including Mike (the supervisor) who was argumentative and condescending and also completely unhelpful.
Does anyone know who I can contact? Or is there someone that can reach out to me? I would hope any execs in the company would be horrified by receiving this review. Hopefully someone with the business acumen and common sense to try and help reads this and can help me find out what s going on - and find some resolve to any technical and personnel issues going in with the company.

Absolutely the worst customer service experience I've ever had. You will be fine working with Dovenmuehle as long as you never need to communicate with them. Once you do, I wish you good luck. My blood pressure went through the roof after my only interaction with them. They purchased my loan from another lender, which must be the only way they can secure clients as no honest and fair minded person would ever choose them. My advice is that if you have this company, refinance immediately and choose a company that will actually provide service.
I have a fairly new mortgage with Dovenmuehle and it's been 3 years and I haven't had any problems. Theyh have always be courteous, friendly, and very helpful.
Racist and illegal. Knowing that I was a Native American and had a Section 184 Native American Loan, this company intentionally refused to return $3000 of my escrow after I sold my home. I reported it to the BBB and Dovenmuehle would not respond to the BBB, so they gave up. I even filed a compliant with the Federal Reserve Bank. That finally got their attention, because they have 30 days to return any funds still in escrow after a home is sold. They took over 3 months. They violated a federal law, but no action will be take against them, because they are too large of a company according the Feds. It took me over 14 phone calls, 5 emails, reports to the BBB and finally reporting it to the Federal Reserve Bank, in order for this company to comply. AVOID WORKING WITH THEM AT ALL COSTS!
May God bless your days and not to be in need of dealing with this company. It is a fraud. They took over my mortgage account few months ago. I could not reach them to be able to pay. I finally made a payment by phone that they charged extra as well. After that, once I set up payments, I got into a different nightmare. At least 3 payment for few month that I made are spoof in the air. My money has been out of the checking account and never been posted towards the balance. Somebody has to shut these people down.
If your mortgage servicer tells you to "email us at custserve@yourmortgageonline.com" this is your new servicing company. They work with Dovenmuehle and Mortgage 1 Inc along with several other. Once they take over servicing your loan, beware! They won't pay your insurance or taxes on time if you use an escrow account. Once you bring it to their attention that you have past due bills being sent to your home because the loan servicing company is ignoring them, they will even brush it off and take another month to take care of the payment. I don't know if they are trying to make some interest on that money by not paying, but it jeopardizes homeowners insurance coverage and if my house were to burn down and I don't have insurance because the bill was unpaid, who is going to pay to build me a new house when something happens? In all my years, I've never dealt with a mortgage servicing company who cares so little about using my escrow money to pay the bills that my escrow is supposed to pay. They will waste your time and put you thru the wringer. Id advise to refinance somewhere else before attempting to even try to work with this joke of a company.

I couldn't me more pleased to leave 5 stars for a business. I am a new Dovenmuehle customer through no choice of my own. The servicing of my mortgage had been sold to Dovenmuehle in the past year. Last week, I received my annual property tax bill. In order to have my taxes paid by my escrow account, I Googled the company's web site and was appalled to find such dreadful reviews. In order to protect myself from the poorly reviewed business, I faxed my bill with a cover letter to Dovenmuehle and sent another copy of the same information via the US Post Office. Today, 48-hours after sending the fax, I received a telephone call for a very personable Dovenmuehle representative. In the most polite manner, the man said, "Mr. Maynard, I just wanted you to know we have received your correspondence and have forwarded your tax matter to the correct department." First, I was dumbfounded because this type of call defies all of the negative reviews. Secondly, this is the essence of Outstanding Customer Service that has become a dying art in America. Thank you Dovenmuehle. If you can identify the nice man who called me, give him a pat on the shoulder. He sure proved a bunch of bitter consumers completely wrong.
I NEVER leave reviews but I had similar experiences to R. Linz and it is infuriating. I had no problems with this mortgage company until I refinanced. They had received the correct payoff check in the mail, held it for 3 weeks, then sent it back saying it was short because of the $27/per day interest charge and for this months mortgage payment. It was paid off! If they had cashed the check on the day it was received, instead of holding it for weeks, there would be no problem. After talking with 4 people and being on the phone for an exhausting hour, I find out they reached out to my title company, and didn t hear back, so sent the check out. The number they said they called wasn t even right!!! It was a car repair shop. So they never reached out to me, or my new credit union, which would have made sense and could have been resolved. The title company had nothing to do with this so why they even tried reaching out to them is beyond me. Now they are trying to charge me this months mortgage payment plus interest, and saying if I don t they will report it to the credit bureaus. Terrible, terrible customer service. This company is going to ruin my credit, and cost me hundreds If not thousands of extra dollars because they can t do their job. This has been a nightmare dealing with them.
I really wish there was a way to put a 1/10th of a star on my review. But I don t think I would even give them that high of a rating. Every single Step of the way for 3 years this company has been absolutely unprofessional, shady, and inappropriate in every single interaction I have ever had with them. It's too bad there's no "0" stars option. Every interaction with this company has been frustrating or like pulling teeth. When my mortgage was bought up by them, they gave me faulty information about what payments were required and when, which ended up costing me tons of money later on, and plunging our family into debt. There was no accommodation for their mistake. A few days ago I accidentally sent two payments from a Wells Fargo bill pay. I recently discovered this and called WF on a Sunday to cancel. They picked up right away, were friendly and helpful, but unfortunately the payment had already gone through, so they let me know that I would have to speak to Dovenmuehle about it. When I tried contacting DM I found out - not only are they not available over the weekend, but there is also NO EMAIL, and NO VOICEMAIL I can leave. AND, no information on their website about when they're open. Even their AI chatbot couldn't answer that simple question. So unprofessional.
Was with COLDWELL BANKERS until Aug 2016 and my mortgage was sold to dovenmuehle. I would give Dovenmuehle a minus ten however not an option. The wort customer service team I every had to deal with. I have never had a return message from them. Miss having a good mortgage company.
I called to talk to customer service because due to several mistakes, our mortgage payment has increased 35% since it got sold to them. I was on hold for 45 minutes and finally talked to a guy who was nice but couldn t solve the problem. He then had to transfer me to another department and I was on hold for another 40 minutes when a very rude woman came on the phone, didn t apologize for the wait or introduce herself. She simply asked for my name, account number and a call back number. I asked what was going on and she said you ve been on hold too long so we will call you back in the next 24 hours. I questioned her 3 times about that because this was a Friday (making 24 hours be on a Saturday) and she reiterated 3 times that yes I could expect a call that evening or Saturday. That was December 13th and I haven t gotten a call back. They re terrible. We are actively working to refinance to get away from this awful company and hope our new mortgage never gets sold to them.
My NEW mortgage was transferred to Dovemuehle on 08/22/2018. I was notified with a one page letter from Fairview Escrow, not from the new mortgage company, Dovenmuehle. I contacted Fairview, concerned about this month's payment, as I had no billing service to issue payment to. Also, when I checked Dovenmuehle's profile of my account online, they property address was the wrong street, in the wrong state! Very alarmed that I was being scammed, I contacted Fairview. They assured me that Dovemuehle was a legitimate mortgage company, and that this company was having problems with it's online system. Not reassuring at all. Without any other reference, I copied the transfer letter, and sent it along with this month's payment to the remittance address on the letter. Only today, TODAY, I received a new billing packet from Dovenmuehle. Of course, they state I'll owe a late fee if the bill isn't paid today! This is starting to feel just like the Countrywide hell I went though in 2005.
Failed to properly disburse my escrow payment for homeowners insurance on time. I had to pay my annual premium out of pocket to prevent my policy from lapsing. Dovenmuehle was unable to offer any explanation, was unwilling to reach out to the insurance company on my behalf, and their representative was completely useless. Too bad I'm not able to choose who services my loan...
Worst mortgage company. Simply tried changing insurance companies to save myself money and even though I have an escrow. I was told I needed to pay it out of pocket. Run.... Run far away from the company.
This company purchased a mortgage that I have on an investment property.. My wife's name is on the mortgage but I handle the investment business at our house. For 3 months we've had nothing but issues with the way they apply payments. For some reason I am being charged twice as much interest as I should have paid by now. They won't speak to me when I call on the phone even though my wife has filled out an authorization form and sent it to them. They claim to have not received this form even though we sent it to them and got an email confirmation that they have it. It is extremely frustrating when we pay 4 x our mortgage amount on time every month to try to get the loan paid off early. We are only 3 months into having them as our new mortgage provider and we have had to make at leas 7 calls and things are still not right. At the end of the day I guess they don't really care if they have happy customers or not because the customer has no say on whether or not we choose to use them if they buy our mortgage.
Totally incompetent - long delays, never following through on their own procedures, content to put all the burden from their mismanagement of their accounts on the customer. They lose paperwork repeatedly, have horrible record keeping, they are unresponsive when you follow their instructions, they continually look for ways to inconvenience their clients anyway they can. I submitted information to them, as requested; and every time I called over the course of 6 months they would lie and say it was never received and ask for it to be sent again - despite me having multiple certified mail receipts. They continually frustrated my banks attempt to get a payoff package, they baffle all parties who work with them with sheer ineptitude they display. Do not go to them with any banking needs and if you have problems, CFPB involvement is the only way to get them to try.
I will be putting a clause in all future mortgages I have not to sell or subservice to these imbeciles (yes, you can do that!)
This organization provides terrible customer service, even hung up on me while I was explaining what I wanted. I have three homes financed through Safe Credit Union, who happens to use Dovenmuele Mortgage to handle these home loans. There is zero communications between Safe Credit Union and Dovenmuele Mortgage, so I had to learn the hard way that what the Safe Call Center tells me, has very little to do with the facts at Dovenmuele. I just now got hung up on again, while waiting for someone to pick up my call, the music is lousy anyway, so to hell with solving my question, in regards to the shortage in my escrow account, osmosis will take care of things. This organization is awful, but unfortunately I m stuck with them, but their mission is accomplished as I will never call them back.
This the worst mortgage company ever!! I was in a repayment plan and they still nailed me with more chargers at the end never could keep a head always something with this stupid company!!
Lynn Lesnie**** (edit using stars for the remainder of name as this should be adequate) refused to helo me and was extremely rude toned on the phone and refused to provide a name other than Lynn and some initials. I had to call back and was told that is just how she is and what her name was so i could report this. Then i was quickly transfered to a supervisor who noted and quickly resolved the issue. Why do you let people that are so rude to customers work for you? If it was not for the positive interactions ive had from your other staff this rating would be lower.....and if by the luck of the draw i didnt have to deal with Lynn you would have had a 5.
Dovenmuehle is a terrible company. I do not recommend them at all. Unfortunately my mortgage was sold to them so I had no choice. I am now refinancing to get out from under them. It is impossible to get in touch with someone that works there who can answer your questions. Their website seems like you can do a lot but when you try to it says you cannot do that and to call their 800 number. Try your best to avoid this mortgage company.
In pursuing removal of PMI from our mortgage, we were sent a letter stating we had one of two options: 1-make a principal reduction payment to bring the LTV ratio ot 80% OR 2- demonstrate substantial improvements were made to the property that would demonstrate a LTV ration of 80%, in order to do this the letter stated we needed a BPO ordered through Dovenmuehle: Verbatim: "The BPO must be ordered through Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc and the cost of the BPO is $105.00, which will be charged to you." We completed $24,000 worth of improvements, including the addition of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a living room by finishing our daylight basement. We submitted the BPO (Broker Price Comparison) order, the $105, and the list of upgrades as requested. Nicole Tucker, a real estate agent from Harry Normal Realtors in Johns Creek came out to take photos and look over our home, she also took a paper listing the upgrades. However, she completed the BPO with incorrect information, stating a 3 bd 2 1/2 bath home instead of accurately reflecting a 5 bd 3 1/2 home. After we contacted Nicole and had no response, to this day, regarding why she completed the BPO with inaccurate information. We contacted Dovenmuehle, spoke to Amanda, and were told a dispute would be opened (08/29/19). We had not heard back, so today (09/19/19) I spoke with Sharon and she advised me that the BPO was not allowed to included upgrades and had to reflect the home as we purchased it, regardless of the additions to the home. I'm sure this is news to every Real Estate Agent working. She said we should have had an appraisal, even though the letter did not give that option, and specifically stated we MUST have a BPO. She further advised a dispute could not be re-opened unless it was in writing. This information was in direct contrast with the letter we have from Dovenmuehle. After she became frustrated with her inability to explain the incorrect information we were given, and cover for the misleading business practices of Dovenmuehle, she transferred me to Jim in customer service who could not explain why Sharon said BPO's could not included upgrades, and his only advice was to send a letter to Dovenmuehle, to which I would have a response in 30-60 days--more red tape. In the mean time, they are collecting PMI on a home that should no longer have PMI, they have engaged in misleading business practices, they could not answer even the most basic questions regarding their failure to communicate accurate information, nor could they explain the difference or the reason for the difference in what we were sent in letters and what they were telling. Neither could offer any recourse for us, the consumer, other than to send a letter. Even though they blatantly lied, or Dovenmuehle lied in their letter, they each said something different, and the real estate agent they hired, Nicole Tucker of Harry Norman Realtors, filled out the BPO with incorrect information. Be very wary of this mortgage company, their ratings on Google and the BBB are this low for a reason. We will be refinancing our mortgage elsewhere.
Me and my wife just purchased a home and not even a month into it the loan was sold to Dovenmuehle. The problem I have is that my credit dropped 22 points because they pulled it without my consent!!!! Why was this done is beyond me. I've been trying to get them on the phone regarding this but of course no answer. They keep you on hold and never come to the phone! After seeing the reviews I don't understand how they are in business!!!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. I never asked for my mortgage to be sold in the first place but of course we have no control over this. Very disappointed by this!!!!!
I had Dovenmuehle as my mortgage provider for my last house. When we sold the house, (September 2019) I had $1600 in my Escrow account that they have failed to return to me. I have called weekly for the last month and a half (February 2020) and each time they tell me they'll fix it and to check in 5-7 business days. Each time they fail.
I have gotten a different call center agent each time, and multiple times I've been escalated to a manager to try to remedy the problem. They have still failed. They still have my $1600 escrow check from a house I sold 7 months ago.
I wonder how many people don't understand how Escrow accounts work and simply never get their money back from this company.
26-minute + hold time is seriously ridiculous. I am new to this company and need to know why I can't register my account online, but no one will answer the f'ing phone. This is nuts. I really, really, really hope this is not a tale of things to come with them.
This is possibly one of the most incompetent loan companies on the planet. The customer service (when they answer) is incapable of doing anything. They can't even use email or their own secure web portal to send you a simple form, they insist on using snail mail and claim after their forms do not arrive we should allow 10 business days for a simple form to arrive in the mail. No one would do business with them given a choice, but they seem to buy up loans so we are stuck with their incompetent processes and poor service. Stay away from this company if you have any choice! And if you have problems with them report them to the BBB and state authorities in IL.
Horrible horrible! I didn t even pick them. Based on multiple exchanges of my mortgage handler, I ended up with this piece of junk company. I sent them a payment. They returned it and blamed it on my bank. I have them on bill pay and kept getting notices I was behind. Upon investigation I found out that they had returned my payment for no reason. Meanwhile I m being charged fees, getting calls,...my bank stated they just returned the payment for no reason. I feel as if this was done on purpose to charge me late fees. Junk of a company! Now even my credit suffered because of this!!! I m so pissed! The names of the actual owners need to be spread or else they will simply close their doors on dovenmuehle to open something else under a different name. But the heart of the business will remain.
UPDATE: Soon after I posted this review, my account is now with another company. Coincidence or not, my new company is so far night and day. But, my bank sent dovenmuehle a mortgage payment before i had the chance to cancel the payment. My bank tried to stop the payment but was unable. I told my bank about the experiences I ve hade with doven and they intervened. My bank was not able to get the payment I sent to doven and my new mortgage servicer didn t receive the payment! So now doven kept $3000!!! Damn thieves.
Finally out sold last house and THANK GOD Dovenmuehle did not buy our current mortgage. Every time we had to deal with them was a nightmare! Extremely long hold times, Every single time! Unable to process requests for almost everything. 18 minutes on hold for a 30 second conversation. She asked if I wanted to be transferred to take survey. I said yes, then was disconnected. I hope I never have to try and do business with this company again.
My first contact (email) from them they didn't even tell me who they were. It just said 'You owe this much' and they wanted my bank information and a payment. That's pretty scary. After that it went pretty smooth for the next two and a half years until I wanted to pay off the loan. What a hassle. You have two options, they mail you the payoff information via snail mail, or they fax it to you. I asked 'Can't you just email it to me?' They said 'No'. I asked 'Can't you just put the payoff amount in my messages with instructions where to wire it?' 'No'. You have to pay it off with a certified check or a wire transfer. I said 'Fax it to my bank'. They said 'It will be there in 2-4 hours.' Any wired transactions to them after 3pm collect interest for that day. At noon (since it never came) we called them from the bank. They said we'll fax it again now. They didn't. Sure enough, at 3:05 the fax arrived, making me pay another day's interest. Greed. They also keep your escrow money as long as they can before they pay your property taxes. More greed. Follow up: I made my FINAL payment to them two days ago, they did not credit my account with the funds, in fact, they made an advance withdrawal on my account for over $2400. I called them immediately and asked what was up? They replied 'Oh we're sorry, we don't know how that happened, we'll resolve it within a week.' Which means they're holding my nearly $2000 in escrow refund for nearly another month. Don't use these guys.
ZERO STAR IF POSSIBLE. This......is the ABSOLUTE worst mortgage company I have ever had to deal with. They have processed my payments wrong time after time after time. I have requested a mailing address change 4 times now and they can't do it. I have complained to the Illinois Dept. of Financial and Professional Regulation to no avail. If you have any choice...STAY AWAY.
These asswholes had sent a bruiser of a guy to my home first tune was a week ago second time was today he came 5 times and sat in front of my home for 20 minutes then he pulls un the driveway walks around my property taking pictures BANGS AND BANGS ON MY DOOR AND WUNDIWS LOOKING IN MY HOME while this guy is on speaker phone with some women he takes pix and tries to block his face w his iPhone and yes this is true I have it all on video from my ring doorbell is that HARRASSMENT??? now mind u I live in Jersey they put my house up for sherriff sale with in 3 months of me trying to get a modification on my mortgage after they put me on a forbearance program after I lost my job of 22 yrs and they say after 6 months we will go over your loan and work with me NOPE they sent me a bill for 33,000 fighting with them they never call back or there server is down can't get any emails or faxes thru they are the worst nasty people and I am getting HARRASSED by this no name guy comming to my home when this situation is between the courts our attorneys and trustees trying to save my home had to claim chapter 13 HARRASSMENT HARRASSMENT HARRASSMENT
If i can give a zero stars i would! WORST MORTGAGE COMPANY EVER. It had been over a year to attempt to transfer my loan over to my sisters name. Back and forth sending in documents through snail mail... cant even reach them.. poor communication. Takes weeks and weeks for a reply. Poor customer service, Unknowledgeable staff.
Pathetic company. Called to request a recent statement and they stated it would take 3-4 days and they would "fax" it to me? Why can't I see one online like EVERY OTHER company in today's world???? Hey Dovenmuehle, time to join us in the 21st century. You state you've been in business since 1844 but you continue to do business like it's still 1844. Not deserving of even one star.
