Good location but air conditioning in rooms is absolutely terrible...as a women, makes blow drying and straightening hair feel like I'm getting ready in a sauna. Also have to pay $10.95 for wifi in room....even as a hilton honors member! Wifi is only free for HH Black level members. Fitness center is pretty nice. Ample parking. Comfortable beds. I travel to Tampa 2-3 days a week every week for business and I won't stay at this hotel anymore because my only preference was "high floor preferred" and EVERY SINGLE TIME they would put me on floors 1,2, or 3. I don't appreciate when hotels ask my preferences and then don't take them into consideration....especially when they know at least 5 other people from my company stay here on a regular basis.
Great location, convenient. But like most Hilton's the matress is bad. Hard inner spring, feels like you slept in the floor
Friendly bar with a reasonable beer choice and good food
The rooms are very nice but wish they had a complimentary
I've been here for three weeks as of today the staff and management here the best at making you feel right at home very cozy here I like this place .
Exalent airport hotel. Pool and outdoor seating very family friendly. Restaurant open to 2am so arriving late you can still grab a bite.
Very nice place and the staff were super friendly. My only complaint is the walls were very thin and it seemed like you hear absolutely everything from the rooms around you.
Nice place that's a bit dated but makes up for it with the amenities of the pool, inhouse sports bar, airport shuttle, excellent breakfast buffet, and those hot cookies!
Room was wonderful, very cheerful front desk, pool wasn't cold. Bathroom needed some work the toilet seat looked like it had some milage on it and the tub faucet needed to practically be jammed closed for it to stop dripping. Parking is great in the morning but awful at night due to the Charley's steak house next door. Makes no sense that Charley's can threaten to tow away people for using their parking lot but the hotel allows people who are eating there to use half of their own parking lot. Plus almost $25 a person for breakfast if you wanted to eat there, like $13 for an omelette expensive. They did recommend nice places to eat though.
Everytime I have stayed here it s been so smooth and relaxing. Check in is quick and easy, rooms have balcony, and the beds feel like laying in a cloud lol not to mention the customer service and accommodations are amazing! The hotel manager Pablo was the best When it westshore, this will always be my first choice for hotels!
Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Maintenance arrived within an hour when needed. Short drive to a couple malls and good food (right next door to Charley's, too, bonus!). The pool is nice for a dip and their attached sports bar is a great place for an after-work beverage and snack.
Very nice and accommodating! I missed the airport shuttle at 5am by a couple minutes and they still got me there before the next shuttle.
Only four stars because the guy at the front desk refused to give me a cookie. Should go lower but I'm not. Just give me the damn cookie next time
Nice hotel with good amenities and excellent meeting rooms. We were having a company function here and the meeting room was nice and the food was good.
Your hotel doesn't answer the phone! 10 rings right now!
Nice, clean rooms, but thin walls; I could hear everything going on in the halls and in the room next to me. Disappointed that there was no fridge in the room. On the upside, the staff is awesome, especially Nick, who was our server in Players! The people were awesome and may be enough for me to stay here again.
It was ok for a night. Seeing what I has seen I would not reserve this motel on a return trip. You can see that the placed is old and needed to be remodeled/updated. I arrived at 2:30 am, so I was there for only 6 hours.
This hotel has always been nice to stay at. Front desk staff is always very pleasant and accommodating. Room was acceptable, and clean. Restaurant staff was nice, however the lobby bar staff was not very attentive.
The pool area was lively the entire weekend! Not complaining just describing the weekend. Seemed like a couple get-a-way(I was there with my woman too ) but the children had fun at the pool! I'd stay again.
Worst customer service EVER! Yes I work for hotels so I politely explain to the associate at the front desk that my wallet is in the car. My woman has went to the Starbucks and I left my key on room. He tells me I can't get in even after giving him literally all the information on the reservation. Never again and people wonder why most choose Marriott.
Good place to stay clean and nice having the bar at night to have some drinks and watch some football. Breakfast was very good with lots of options. Hot tub was hot and the pool was refreshing
Awful. Our first room had mold growing on the ceiling and everything in the room felt wet or sticky. The entire 4th floor just smelled musty, old, and dirty.
We got moved to a room on the 6th floor. After being in the room for over an hour, two hotel workers opened the door without even knocking. They were shocked and left immediately. I heard one say to the other "they're already in there". They made no apology or announcement. My wife was naked getting out of the shower at the time, with the bathroom door wide open to the room entry.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant cost nearly $100 for a family of four. Food was sub par at best (think of a really bad steakhouse 3 months before it closes down...) and we had to order some delivery later because the dinner we had just wasn't sufficient.
I will never stay at a doubletree again, and am shocked that Hilton allows their brand to be associated with this hotel.
My wife and I spent time visiting my parents who were staying at the Doubletree. The room was fantastic and the staff was courteous. If I needed a place near the airport, I'd look here first.
Stay at Double Tree was pretty great. No major complaints and the cookies are THE BEST.
The rooms were clean and the staff was very nice. The food was hot and very delicious and the drinks were cold. I loved the coffee!!!
Great rooms, food is good, shuttle service is the best, but does not pick up at cruise port, they do recommend another shuttle service though
Horrible, I did file a complaint with the staff.. There was a fight outside my room with threats of someone stabbing the other individual. After I complained, nothing could be done to move me so I stated that I was going to another hotel, the Hilton brand has been on a downward trend..
We were there for a concert at Amelie. The hotel common spaces were nice. The room was average. The staff at the concierge desk was awesome. No fridge in the room was a downer.
A good hotel next to the Tampa airport. I was put up in the tower block. Struggled to find the lift entrance. And a strange thing is that I found a crate of left over beer in my cupboard....the housekeeping need to do a better job
Always a great place, super Saturday with Beachbody is great there!
Breakfast is not free and on top of that, is more expensive than it should, the manu is not that good. Also i left the room for the whole morning waiting to get room service then i came back at 1pm and the room hadn't been clean yet so i had to request it, in the front desk, they told me it would get don right away but it got cleaned around 5pm. It turn very inconvenient for me to stay out of the room for such a long time.
My first visit to this Doubletree was amazing the rooms are spacious the breakfast was excellent
house keeping was great.I visited this same location
on June 8th for a dinner party for my daughter at a local restaurant. The next day which was Saturday
we relaxed most of morning after eating breakfast
at the hotel. Around 3:30 close to 4p.m. we went for
dinner and a visit with my daughter whom lives in
Tampa. When leaving our room house keeping was
in the hallway she spoke to myself and my guest. Later on that evening around 9p.m. after leaving my
daughter home. We returned to a hotel room unclean garbage cans still full of garbage from day
before. I call room service to be told that a do not
disturb sign was on the door. I replied no why would
we leave signs on door when we left room. She stated for my incovience they will give me food coupons. I said no I want someone to come clean
this room. Also that this was inappropriate being
someone was right outside our door. To just leave our room uncleaned. So when you book third party
your not important to the company. And another
problem no parking there was a conference there
and those whom had rooms there had to find parking. The garage was full no elevator not connected to Hotel.
Love it. Highly recommend. I had a great view by the pool area !
The rooms are good size with cold AC. Good location. There is a nice breakfast buffet in the morning, but you do have to pay. Service was good, except at the Players bar inside the hotel. On a slow night it took 45 minutes to get a plate of burnt $15 wings.
Restaurant was way too loud, could hardly hear the others in my group. Bed was comfortable though.
the Conference was held there and I really enjoyed it and also the staff at the bar/ restaurant were fantastic and the food was delicious
Very friendly staff and easy in and out! The facility was clean and I was very pleased with my experience.
This place is rundown and in desperate need of renovation. Front desk had amazing service but the resturant inside was horrible! Bar tender walked by me 5 times without an acknowledgement before i walked out.
We are bike riders in for a cycling visit. Excellent accommodations..a good pool dip after a bike ride..over great place..1st timer, we will be back
First time in the hotel and it was an incredible option. Room was clean, good food service and very close to both the airport and the downtown
beautiful hotel. very nice room. Brittany at front desk was just super nice. close to everything. only complaint was the noise. can hear people talking in the next room. slamming of doors very early and could hear parents yelling at screaming kids.
Great value, FREE PARKING, clean, Ac works great, and is 5 minutes from Tampa Airport. Friendly staff. 2nd time staying at this hotel, will stay again. The bed is a little more firm than I would like it.
If I could give the hotel ZERO stars, I would!! This hotel has the rudest, most incompetent uncaring staff of any hotel I have ever visited in my 57 years. We are silver members and we also own a Hilton grand vacation 2 bedroom condo . I have never been treated this way at any Hilton or any other hotel ever. As you can see from the pictures, we had a terribly traumatic unsanitary hazardous experience which caused us psychological trauma and potential physical harm. Upon arrival to the hotel, we pulled out the sleeper sofa and noticed several blood splatters!! My son touched it and I had him wash his hands right away and I pray to God he did not get any communicable disease from it. I called the front desk, And it took them a long time - over 30 minutes to even come out and look at the problem. A man, a maintenance supervisor who came up said he was shocked also and he removed the sheets and mattress, which also had blood apparently. He said he would let the manager know and ask him to give us a call right away to rectify the issue , because I told him I did not feel we should pay for the night stay nor our dinner, and quite frankly considering the severity of the problem I thought they should also give me some kind of a certificate to go to another Hilton in future . Well I never got a call that night at all. Nor did I get a call in the morning. So I went to the front desk, and the two clerks were very concerned about my situation and they called a front desk supervisor Julie to speak with me . She was very sarcastic and rude and continued to question whether the blood was on the sheets/mattress also and I said I have pictures of the blood that I saw and I showed her the pictures and she didn't even seem that concerned. She asked sarcastically what I wanted or expected and I said Considering the severity of the situation with my family exposed to infectious diseases transmitted by blood, as well as psychological trauma , I wanted my one night room charge and dinner bill to be wiped clean, a written apology and also certificate to come back to a Hilton in the future. I told her that I feel I should be writing to the health department to protect other people and also posting my reviews online and she actually said go ahead-that's your prerogative!!!. Well she took 20 minutes to come back to me and she did not offer me close to what I deserved or expected- only a partial credit and no formal apology or certificate to return to Hilton. So I asked for her supervisor s name and she told me that the assistant general manager's name is Mike and I left him a very detailed message Saturday morning with all of this information. It is now Monday night -almost Tuesday and I have had no call back from Mike or anyone , even though I called twice today and left messages with Kayla asking why Mike has not called me back. She told me he was at another property. That was the last straw. I asked for the general manager not the assistant manager and she put me into Toms voicemail . I left a message in his voicemail with all of the above and we shall see if and when he calls me back since everybody else seems to not give a hoot. I will consider modifying this review and have the other negative reviews I plan on posting online and also modifying my report to the Health Dept when I call ater this week IF they make up for the situation in the next 24 hours, but considering how terribly I've been treated so far, I don't have any hope this will happen. It goes without saying that you should definitely not stay in this filthy place. In fact I am going to swear off Hilton and stay at the competitor that begins with M. When I have had a rare problem with the competitor, they make up for it in big ways IMMEDIATELY , and I don't even have to beg for a resolution. Check my yelp review for photos too
Stayed 2 nights due to a cheer competiton across the street at HS. Very clean and comfortable hotel. The WiFi accessibility was a little difficult, but front desk was patient and helpful to get my teens connected. Pool was nice, even for January. Restaurant was nice (no waffles though to my kids dismay) but it was hot and fresh. The sports pub had awesome food. Will stay again if in the area.
Hotel is manged by Jewish and white trash, unprofessional unskilled people with no human manners or skills.
Great place to have an event close to the airport not far from downtown and all things that are happening in Tampa like the Riverwalk
Very nice hotel! The staff are very friendly, the hotel is very nice and clean! The ac works extremely well! Which is huge in Florida!! Breakfast was amazing! So much to choose from!! The only issue we had was the bed was a queen instead of the king we reserved. They were extremely busy, so I am sure everything was just booked. Oh well. More snuggle time for me and my hubby! Lol Definitely would stay here again
Its a nice hotel the room is really nice NO POOL towels both times the pool was being used
Pretty good DoubleTree, seems a little older, but still pretty good. Great lobby area.
Nice hotel. Super soft comfy beds. Rooms are very clean. The only thing I disliked was that there was no microwave and/or fridge in our room.
Hotel is a maze with not very good direction. Under renovations and a very busy hotel for guest and meeting rooms. Strange to have guest rooms mixed in with the meeting rooms. The door between rooms is not insulated nor are the walls I believe. Non stop partying in the next room. The Breakfast is expensive and nothing anything more special than most hotels other than someone can make you an omelete or waffle. The bathroom tub was rusty in spots and well dated, the toilet was white with an old beaten up seat that made you wonder if you'd get a plastic splinter using it. The bed and room was comfortable. There is no ice machine on the 1st floor leaving you with having to go into the restaurant for Ice which is very annoying.
Would not stay at this hotel again many better choices in the area including other DoubleTree's
I love the breakfast buffet at the hotel. The pool area is very nice too and the fitness center is sufficient to get a decent work out. Fitness center has treadmills, elliptical, free weights and a standing mechanical weight machine.
Always a pleasure staying here. Great staff and service in the restaurant.
I have ENJOYED my stay this far it's Location is 3.0 miles from downtown TAMPA, FL. and also 1.9 miles from AIRPORT the ATMOSPHERE is a PLUS the COURTESY TRANSPORTATION is always AVAILABLE only thing it have a 2 miles radius NICE CLEAN ROOMS RESTAURANT and the FOOD is GREAT and a SPORTS BAR ATMOSPHERE.
Cheap, good food. Nice rooms with balconies, a great pool, free cookies at check in, and there is a beach park 1.5 miles down the road
I have seen this hotel many times headed to the airport. 1st time staying there.
* Service was great!
* Rooms on the hwy 275 side are a little noisey...however, some may like it. (may need to to invest in noise cancellation class)
* Restaurants are nice!
* Front Desk staff especially "Marcel" was very professional. He treats you and your family as though they are VIP! Very professional young man.
Nice rooms, and love the added convenience of restaurant options on site. Did not appreciate there are no microwave or frog in the room. Have come to believe they should be standard. And seriously, can none of these hotels provide GOOD coffee in the room? I am an early riser, and need a cup or two before 6am when room service starts.
Very nice. Good staff and very appealing and it's in a great location
It's all about the cookies!!!! I love going to the sports bar downstairs to stock up on the chocolate chip walnut cookies. Always very friendly staff to help me quickly
I give a 3 only because of the location. And location only. As a diamond member I was using my points for this stay. My wife and I were in town for new year visiting her family. I don't have my room cleaned daily when staying multiple nights. After like 4 nights there the lady knocked at the door asked if we wanted service. Told her yes we would be leaving soon. Said she would return later. We returned at 8:30 pm.room wasn't touched. Called front desk, he Said he would get towels to us asap. 35 minutes later I called back, this time he hung up on me.
The manager called my cell phone apologetic, which was nice. He personally brought towels, water, and cookies. He also said he was going to reimburse some of my points for the mishap.
Well I have yet get see any reimbursement.
If your not going to do what you say don't say it.
I would not recommend this hotel. It was the 2nd time we stayed there and it has went down hill bad.
Update: the response from manager/owner very generic. Ended with saying I should call and discuss....what? I called front desk and was hung up on while staying there. Then the "manager" called told me he would reimburse points and apologized.
What do we have to discuss? It doesn't take this long for points to be reimbursed. It takes about 72 hours after checkout when staying. I was told y'all do something and nothing is being done. The hotel is not that convenient, or close to being that nice so I will find other Hilton hotels in the area next time.
Not your typical Double Tree. Just judging from the lobby, my first impression was that this was gonna be nice hotel, the kind of nice that you expect from a double tree. That's where the "nice" stops. At the front desk 2 of the staff members were very nice and cordial, 3 of them were not so much. The hotel overall is very dingy and dirty looking. The carpet is stained, and there are smithy looking grey, black and brown smears on the walls and ceilings. Dirt, dust, and crumbs in the corners of the halls and in the rooms, and on the edges of the moldings. Much more like what you'd expect from a much cheaper hotel. The furnishings are worn and dated looking. When I got to my first room I did a quick survey of the place and then called down to the front desk to ask if the hotel was previously something else and then just bought out by the Double Tree brand. The lady on the phone told me no, but that it was independently owned. I guess that means that the owner has the discretion as to whether or not they chose to adhere to Double Trees standards. They offered to switch my room to the newer renovated wing and I accepted, but when I got to it I could tell no real difference. Overall I was very disappointed with this hotel. The rooms are smaller than most any other hotel I've ever seen, and they lack basic amenities such as microwaves and mini fridges. The walls must be super thin because it litteraly sounded like the ice machine was in the room with us. ALSO THIS HOTEL DOES NOT HAVE THE signature Double Tree "Sweet Dreams" mattresses! This is one of the biggest pluses of staying at a double tree; they have one of the top mattresses of any hotel line. But you won't get that here; just a very cheap standard mattress. They also don't offer you ANYTHING for breakfast anymore. They say that breakfast is available for purchase from their very over priced restaurant. There are a lot of better hotel options in very close proximity.
