Doubletree Hotel Skokie Il Review

Beautiful and well organized room. Although in the morning there was people next door that were a bit too loud in the morning. But other than that it was a great night.

The bathroom was a little too small (got a two bed room) and for some reason our room had outside doors that blocked it off from other rooms haha.. It was a weird layout in the halls. Other than that, the beds were comfortable and their staff were nice.

Very well maintained and modern hotel. Friendly staff, good banquet hall and great prices on events and rooms.

The best hotel I have ever been to. I had a positive experience. The receptionist was awesome, housekeeping was excellent and charges were very reasonable.

Really liked the hotel rooms, the lights on my room were dim but still good. The biggest "complaint" (if you can call it that) is the breackfast was not that great, but what do you expect. It's enough for a small breackfast but in the end I still had to go to Panera to get a big breackfast.

Been here twice for corporate retreats. Excellent staff!

This hotel is great! Have stayed here a few times for work trips. Rooms have always been clean , staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection is varied and well made. The location is great too. Kiddy corner to the hotel is Old Orchard shopping center, which has a wide variety of shops and restaurants. In nicer weather it is great to walk around this area. Highly recommended

i attended a Nutrition 2015 conference that was held in this hotel and used my credit card for two people and i was told that the money will be returned just a day after checking out. even today i still have not received my money back. i sent an e mail to the conference organizers to sort this out till today i have not received my money back.

Very clean, professional staff and wonderful event presentation

The hotel was neatly managed with smiling staff. The food provided for event was great and the staff kept the trays packed with food as they became empty.

Left 5 new shirts in my room, called 8 hours later when I realized my error. Gone, disappeared and they assured me that my room stayed vacant....someone from housekeeping had an early xmas!

Lots of parking, clean rooms, clean hotel. Didn't get to try out any amenities but we enjoyed our stay and the price was very reasonable for the area.

Parking was easy. It's a quick drive to a park and ride into downtown Chicago. Downtown Evanston was also a quick 10 minute drive. The pool and fitness center were nice and kept the family active while I attended a conference. Complimentary wine between 5-6pm at check in was also exactly what we need after a long drive in from the east coast. I also appreciated that it's a quite hotel with seemingly good insulation.

Great service, delicious cookies and coffee, comfortable bed

The management is horrible, garbage left in hallway for 3 days, bathroom doors don't close, dirty rooms, we had a wedding there paid over $50,000 dollars and 42 guest rooms and they harassed our guests, rooms not ready for check ins, the bride spent a lot of time setting up guest tables and they messed it all up they actually put the parents of the groom at a table in the back corner when they were supposed to be up front. I would tell anyone that is thinking about having an event there it would be a big mistake. Probably the worst hotel we have ever stayed at and we will never go back!!!!

Breakfast buffet was overpriced for what it was, but very good.

The hotel is inviting and friendly. The staff are engaging and personable treated us as if we had known them for years. The facilities were spotlessly clean and nicely designed.

This location takes HHonors points, which was a huge sell. The staff was extremely courteous to me, even as a non-business traveler - which can't be said of all conference center restaurants. They're able and eager to give directions and local advice, like where to eat nearby the restaurant. The room was clean and neat, and the hotel is pretty quiet. Maybe it's all the business types and conference goers?

There's one drawback if you're staying here on the cheap to access all of Chicago. It's a very long commute anywhere downtown or even many stops north of the Loop on the Line (You must take the Yellow to the Purple to the Red Line, daunting to a Chicago newcomer) despite how long the commute is - has a bank of taxis to take you to the local L stop to take you south. If you're here on business or pleasure in Skokie or Evanston you're probably golden.

Attended an event in the Monaco ballroom, good service was great and food was surprisingly good.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! My husband's RING WAS STOLEN from our room and the hotel did nothing to compensate! They gave us the run around for weeks and then said there was nothing they could do. Not even refund our stay, or even part of it? How about pay for the ring that disappeared from our room?! We will never stay at another Hilton hotel!! For a company that prides themselves on customer service, this experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. BEWARE!

Staff are friendly and accomodating. Rooms are clean and location is quiet and safe.

Somewhat small room and beds but comfy as any Hilton!

Purchased a suite and does not even have a sitting area, just a haphazardly thrown in lounge chair with crusty white stains on it. Bathroom is tiny. Coffee machine is a Keurig but only has decaf available, if you want regular there are filter and drip style single pods but no drip machine, was able to make a week cup by dunking like a tea bag.

Have a few restaurant around, so pretty convenient. Have some othsr stores around too. The lobby was nice and have some complementary coffees and snacks. The room is clean.

Room is very old. Bathroom cant even turn around it.

The DoubleTree hotel is in a wonderful location, with easy access to surrounding malls and businesses. Nice one and comfortable , I had stayed here in 2009 , September for 3 days when I first visited USA . I hope to go back to Chicago again ..

Very nice convenient location. Beautiful lobby and reception area. Nice rooms. Nice bedding yet we liked it a bit colder in the rooms. Spacious rooms. Plenty of parking spaces and a wonderful location for Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs where several parties were taking place. Kocher restaurant in the Hotel property was a little pricey but EXCELLENT.

Rooms and amenities were clean! Somehow it was very loud throughout the night that we stayed there (from around 9pm-1am), it sounded like there was loud music somewhat close to our room and it didn't let up until pretty late.

It was ok but not great. Comparing other hotel with the same level, rooms and bathroom are small. It was clean though.

It's a Hilton! Best part, they offered FREE Wine for Happy Hour. 5pm - 6pm. Loved it!

Great service. Beautiful inside. Free WiFi. Close to the mall and friendly, beautiful neighborhood. Close the the lake. Easy to get around. Not far from Chicago. Good rail system. Restaurant had breakfast buffet, good food and great bar area. Lots of liquor and food options to choose from. Chicken Marsala was excellent! Clean rooms. Small bathroom. Great working space. Looked like adequate conference area. Very professional atmosphere. I feel safe and supported by staff and the accommodations.

They have an old air conditioner system. It's super hot in the room. There's a sign on the thermostat that says "if you are hot you can open the window" which by the way doesn't have a screen. I do not recommend staying here.

Amazing hotel! Large rooms with full en-suites, breakfast buffet in the morning, clean pool and gym, great staff, and overall a lovely stay.

Fantastic atmosphere, wonderful staff, comfortable bed, beautiful view. The warm chocolate chip cookie at check-in was a nice perk!

We have stayed here several times and have always been happy with the service.

I was able to get a great deal on Hotwire for this place, which helped us because we were staying for so long. You can see, however, where the money for recent upgrades went! The lobby, restaurant, and surrounding amenity areas are gorgeous! However, the rooms are NOT! This is what I found most disappointing about our trip, specifically because we now have an eight month old baby traveling with us and did not feel comfortable letting baby play on the floor or even to lie in the beds. There were pillow cases with blood stains (never changed because the stains remained for the 7 nights we were here), the floors were not vacuumed on a daily basis (we say the same things on it everyday), the wall paper was old, peeling, and poorly stained, and the bathtub apparently has a paint coating reminiscent of a 1980s apartment, which was peeling badly. By the way, the shower wasn't wiped down daily either (same soap scum present) and when the tissue ran out, the cleaning service simply but the new box on the counter! The staff was fairly nice and the adjoined steakhouse was always packed and smelled amazing (hate we didn't have a chance to go)! The last two points ate the only reason I gave this place a 3-star rating!

Great place. Been here twice for wedding receptions on the top floor. Fantastic setting for a reception. Excellent view of the skyline. Great place to watch the sunset. I highly recommend it.

Hotel is well worn and really the only full service hotel in this area. Room service is terrible, restaurant workers are rude and it's really not a good place for a meal.

If more hotels had cookies like the DoubleTree's, I might visit hotels more often. Kudos to the front desk staff.

Excellent hotel in the North Shore area of Chicago. Complimentary parking was a real bonus. Hotel is super clean, very modern and has a nice atmosphere. Jameson's steakhouse is the restaurant and is wonderful.

Clean, comfortable, and mordern. The bedrooms are very nice and look up to date. Good breakfast buffet. They also have a connected restaurant as well as a convenience store. They also welcome you with warm walnut chocolate chip cookies! The service is good too! Over all best hotel is Double Tree by Hilton if you can get it for a good price.

I would say my experience in this hotel is awful. I will never go to this hotel anymore. We have found bedbug on our bed. My pitiful roommate got a bite in 5mins after we entering the room. Of course I have to talk to front desk. Then they said they can change bedsheet for us and will be done in 5 mins, and..........that's it!!! No apologize No medical help No refund . We had a really really Terrible night there. None of us slept well!

The room was clean, bt very small. I had the king room, and for the price I was expecting a little bit more. Staff is very friendly.

The room was cold and I couldn t get it warmer, and the bathroom is tiny. breakfast has no vegetables to offer and housekeeping woke me up at 8:00 on a weekend. I m never coming back here.

I stayed here 2 nights during my trip in the area! The staff was super friendly. The kings bed very comfortable. This hotel made my trip more enjoyable.

I'm diamond, travel for work 100 percent. Very friendly staff and the hotel had the best water pressure of any hotel I've ever been to, out of thousands this is the best.

The indoor-outdoor pool was surprisingly warm in late December. It was a lot of fun ducking outside for a few minutes, the kids doing cannonballs in 30-some-odd degree weather, and then swimming back in to warm up.

I arrived very early and they had a room for me. I appreciated that.
