DoubleTree Hotel & Miami Airport Convention Center Review

This is a clearly older facility. Upon arrival, attempting to use an electronic key for a room I selected prior to arrival and self-parking I got conflicting instructions from the parking attendant and desk requiring me to go to the desk and again back to the parking lot a second time and check in the old way anyway. To be fair, the desk staff were apologetic and went out of their way to fix the issue. Somehow I ended up in another room I hadn't picked which is no major deal, but I figured out the air conditioner wasn't working so well, I wasn't given my breakfast coupon for my breakfast deal and my room wasn't the most pristine or well appointed room I've had at a Hilton property. One of the beds had a stained duvet (I decided to sleep in the clean looking bed instead. There was were marks on the toilet tank like somebody had set coffee or a drink or toiletries there. The worst part were the teeny tiny ants who emerged from under the coffee maker in the morning after I used it to heat a cup of water. I informed the desk. The beds weren't very soft. The sink vanity bottom shelf was damaged and looked old. Clearly needed repair. My first and last visit to this particular property. I'm sure the desk would have moved me, they were so eager to make things right upon my flubbed arrival, but the point is I pay to ensure things are right the first time and most properties I stay at do manage this. I was disappointed as I was hoping I had found a new option for my Miami travel, but sadly not here.

We stayed 2 nights, the hotel, the food, the attention of the staff, everything perfect.

Hotel is far from city and not much shop around. The one near is mostly closed.

my name maike martinez me rent from 11/17 / to 11/19 with 2 children one of 3 and another of 8 children take yogurt and milk which was my astonishment that in the room there was no refrigerator, the other astonishment the pool They worked and they were very enthusiastic about bathing and swimming, but when you book they charge you for all the services that the hotel offers but they do not tell you that the pool is broken for me it was fatal

Clean restrooms and selections of restaurants in hotel. Expensive food and drink, and overpriced items in shops.

An amazing stay. I love Double Tree by Hilton because you know your going to get the best experience. The room, the staff, the experience overall is always top notch. The rooms are very very clean and the bed are super comfy! I definitely recommend this place to anyone in Miami!

I called for the $103 booking rate advertised on the web. I was given rates of over $159 - I first spoke with a female reservationist and she would NOT give me that rate. She then hung up on me because I was "yelling" at her. First off, I was not yelling, I was speaking loudly in an effort to make sure she understood I was expecting adequate "Customer Service" which I did not get. I was told to find where I saw this particular rate. So I went back and found the exact place and called back and got a male supervisor on the phone with broken english. He said that rate was for November 20th ONLY! The date I am coming down to Miami is on a Monday (not a holiday) and one night. He would NOT honor that $103 rate. Be very careful of the "False" advertising you see online. Also, if you do book from a 3rd party website, know that most (if not all of them) will NOT refund ANY money no matter what the circumstances - THERE IS ALWAYS A "CATCH"....Customer Service needs a COMPLETE OVERHAUL! There is no way I would want to stay in this hotel after the rude behavior and TOTAL LACK of customer service - In fact, there was NO customer service, just plain rudeness! I get better treatment from the convencience stores like Racetrack - How sick is that????? No thanks Hilton!

Very nice hotel. Rooms dated for some details but comfortable and clean. On the ground floor there is a very nice shopping center. The staff is friendly and tries to help you even if you don't speak English well.

Large room, comfortable beds. We only had problem with the drain of the bathroom that the water took to descend. Helpful staff!

Only stayed a couple hours for the supercon convention after-party, pool area was very nice with comfortable seating

This is a great hotel with a Convention Center attached to it I've been there many times I enjoy eating in the restaurant they have a good breakfast buffet it tastes really good it was expensive of course but it's in Miami so it's to be expected I really like the convention center the parking is a rip-off though let's be honest or charging everybody all the time big rip-off on parking I guess that's how they keep the doors open cuz the mall was pretty empty as well

Excellent customer friendliness. They had covid-19 measures in place it felt safe.
The only incident we had is loud neighbors and when we called the reception nobody answered. So we had to call the 1-800 number to get in touch with them. Then the guy asked if we want to change rooms, which, at 2am, we did not want to do. Duh. Finally we heard someone knocking on their door and it went quiet.

Rooms with adjoining doors have ZERO sound buffer between them. So when your insane neighbors alarms go off at 4AM and ring until 8AM..... you're awake. Hotel tried to fix it. Free breakfast. Good employees.

They are very very dirty they have bad house keeping and the manager wouldn t even consider given a discount or nothing he like they did there job oh yeah after I complain 4 time smh this hotel need to be reported

I was down in Miami as a first responder to hurricane Irma. I was assisting in power restoration. The double tree was able to provide extremely last minute rooms and they had the foresight and preparations to have a diesel generator powering the hotel while everyone was still without power. I can't speak for the price since my company paid for the rooms, but there staff was warm and welcoming and the facilities we're very comfortable. The pillows are very soft, despite the fact that I prefer a very firm pillow, they are nice. It's one of the comforts of homes. The WiFi was easy enough to connect to and seemed reliable enough. I hope the next time I come here it won't be because a hurricane had devestated the area.

We asked for bed sheet change, they literally brought over top sheets. Breakfast on eleventh floor is meh. Pillows too soft, need down pillows. Decent otherwise. Can def step up their game.

I never leave reviews, but if you want to freeze and not enjoy your shower book the hotel. The water is freezing and doesn t get hot. They also charge you an extra $100 deposit that isn t mentioned and you pay for parking which isn t mentioned either.

Lovely property. The meeting space was great, I really enjoyed the food, and I didn't spend nearly enough time shopping. My ONLY complaint is the excessive water runoff from the rain when trying to exit the parking area. I plan to visit the property again in the near future.

I'm going to be honest. Parking was an inconvenience due to the $10 every day but it's because of COVID 19. Yes our economy is not the same and adopting to changes are not easy. There were some minor issues at this location. However the staff, Julio and Freddy handled my situation and made my stay very comfortable. I enjoyed breakfast this morning (10/16/2020). If for any reason you are not happy, please speak to their staff. Don't leave unhappy. They need us as well as we do them. Thanks again for solving my issues.

Double Disappointment. Decided to stay here in hopes of a quiet night. We checked in at 11pm and were appalled to hear what sounded like a birthday celebration out in the pool. VERY NOISY! We left within an hour.. ALSO NO COOKIES!!!

I hate to say it, but this Doubletree needs some love. Definitely not to the standards of a typical Doubletree in my experience (I am a honours member w Hilton). The service was more then fine, so was the room service and bed, executive breakfast, clean, etc. But, the hotel itself is run down, lots of stuff left unfixed it seems; elevator, lights, Ice machine, magnetic door to the 11th floor Hilton honors room, etc. Even the paid parking has stinky gas fumes coming up from the cracks in the pavement. Anyway, if you are accustom to Hilton, this will make you question the chains integrity moving forward. Sorry, needed to be said.

Acceptable cleaning. The rooms are large and with carpet. Ha I'm shopping center that helps anyone who has something urgent to buy. Shuttle to some places is paid. Most of the Staff speaks Spanish. Super business complete with printer and office items.

My experience was fine here. The room was clean and the hotel is nice. Cozy lobby but their breakfast is expensive. In the check in although we were 4 people and had reserved a 2 bed room the receptionist refused to give us a room with 2 beds and I had to call Hotwire and after they contacted them we got our room. All in all I ll go back.

Good place for wholesale purchases is a surprise box has good wholesalers of several products and on the second floor there are also very good wholesalers for retailers

Love it here. Front desk employees were very nice. The restaurants in the hotel food is tasty reasonable and plentiful. There's even a full mall at the hotel! Room is very clean and smell really fresh. Your stay at this hotel will be a happy one.

I used to shop my hotels among all available in the area. Now I stick with the Hilton chains. Clearly the best.

Very comfortable hotel rooms. I've stayed there at least 10 times. Good fitness center.

Hotel had its ups and downs. Some staff went above and beyond and could speak English, while others behind the counter could barely speak English and took us 10mins to check in and with a line of 15, you do the math. You would think the manager would step in to help.. no! He walked around with his head held high like his sh*t don t stink. Rooms were average and room service was average.

Bathroom cleanliness could be better. No refrigerator (they want you to buy food, etc. from them).I had surprised my family in the lobby and 5 mins later we get a noise complaint to our 3 rooms , it was weird because the security came to our floor specifically and said gave us a noise complaint not even a 1 hour settled in the hotel .

Pleasant staff, decent prices and amenities. The hotel itself is showing its age, and like most hotels in Miami, there are spots of mold in almost every room.

I am hilton honors diamond member. I was extremely disappointed with the stay. The room upgrade options available were measly. The executive lounge was empty. It did not even have bottles of water. The breakfast experience was even horrendous. The cook was very reluctant about changing spatula after being told about food allergies. The server broke glass on my table and spilled coffee on my wife. Worst experience ever. I stay at hilton properties as i am loyal to the hilton brand. This was one of the worst experience with a hilton property.

The rooms and beds were amazing, definitely no complaints there. The staff was really nice and they had a small shop inside the hotel itself, which is great. But the pool was a bit disappointing. It wasn't super clean. The whirlpool was closed, maybe because it was super dirty, but we would have loved to use it.

Its a very nice area and facilities. But one of the days the a/c wasn't working so it was really muggy in the lobby and there isn't a map to help guide you, I had to ask another guest where to go.

Nice hotel, the attention is very friendly and attentive. The room is clean and they offer a good breakfast. It is near the airport and key places for shopping. Account with service of transport to the airport which is a plus and they keep the luggage if one needs to do it

So the room is fairly clean and check in was efficient, but there is no coffee for guests. Also me and my wife went downstairs for breakfast and they said we would have to sit at different tables from each other to avoid giving each other covid-19. We ve been in Miami for two weeks and this is not the law here, just hotels stupid policy.

I really wish I would have known that we wouldn t have coffee in the morning or breakfast because I would have stayed somewhere else.

I have stayed here many times, but this last time was a bit disappointing. The room has a musky smell. But I've been here enough times that I can assume it was just this room.

Rioja Grill restaurant was horrible! Slow service, wrong food order, calamari that was only breading, etc etc
