Doubletree Hotel Badgerland Bar and Grill Review

Food was very good. Staff was professional even during a slightly silly event.

The room was incredible and the front staff was extremely helpful. One lady gave me great directions because I had no idea how to get to where I needed to. I'm happy she was there!

Location is GREAT -- very walkable & bike friendly to resturants & museums. So much good food in walking distance. Free parking & very secure. Room & service were the best. Everyone was so nice & helpful. We used the hotel shuttle & it was a nice perk to have.

Very safe place to stay at. The rooms are nice and the showers are decent.

The room was great! It looked absolutely amazing and the staff was very respectful. The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the beds. They weren't the most comfortable in the world.

Friendly staff and super comfortable accomodations make this the only hotel I use when I come down for the Madison Mini.

Very nice hotel with comfortable rooms (Bed, couch and chair). Bathrooms were a little small but very nice and modern. The restaurant had a wide variety of food and drinks and there breakfast buffet had a very wide range of items. Fantastic customer service, I highly recommend this hotel.

Went here before a Badger hockey game for dinner. Had a great time. The service and food were great and if recommend it.

We had our wedding reception here and the staff was AMAZING! We recieved many compliments from our guests on the food, cocktails, and location. The complimentary shuttle was also great to have for use when busing guests to rehearsal dinner and ceremony. They also had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in our room for us the day of. Katie made sure our big day went off without any issues and did everything to make it perfect! If I had to plan it all over I would choose this doubletree again and again.

A good hotel but what makes this place unique is the remarkable staff. I haven t stayed in many places where the staff is so engaged, professional, and warm. They make the hotel worth your business.

Stayed here for a night during a week long work trip that was spread over multiple cities, different hotel brand each night. My stay at the DoubleTree was by far the best experience. Excellent, friendly, and convenient service from the moment I walked through the door. Room was in excellent shape as well. I will certainly be staying here and leaning towards other DoubleTree hotels whenever possible based on this experience.

I wasn't overly impressed with their lobby and the room was small & dark. Their parking is difficult as well. Nice warm cookie at check-in though.

I have stayed at several hotels in Madison while in town for business and none of them compare to the Double Tree! Friendly upbeat staff, comfortable beds, clean rooms, great restaurant! The Hotel is located within walking distance to great food, shopping and the University of Wisconsin campus!

Went to a dinner theater event. The facility and staff were delightful and helpful. Easy to get into and out of.

We travel all the time and to be honest, the actual room decor means less than actually 'feeling like home' while you're away. This hotel has THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE anywhere - and we travel 35 to 40 weeks out of the year. Polite, problem solvers - just love them all. Those I'd like to give a special shout out to are: Lauren Meuer, Katie Genrich, Erik Hollander, Nick Johnson and Haley Hagerty. Just the fact I know there names speaks volumes. Great Place.

I've been traveling nonstop for moths and hadn't landed in a truly great hotel until this doubletree. staff was so, so great, my room was super clean, nicely appointed, had a decent view. HVAC was so competent. shower was amazing. staff accommodated our every (many!) shuttle request. everyone was pleasant and proactively helpful. overall the best hotel I've stayed at this year.

I really liked the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They offered me complimentary chocolate chip cookies too which were amazing. I would definitely recommend. Especially for a hotel convenient for downtown.

We stopped by aprx 130 and had asked about a possible early check in, this was on a room we had made reservations for in Dec. The room was not ready said it would be 10 minutes to and hour, but we could park and have the shuttle take us to where we would like to go. Returned at 4:15 and no room avail for possible 1 hour. They do not hold a room (my error, I thought that was what a reservation was for). And we could wait, or we could leave again and the room SHOULD BE AVAILABLE WHEN WE RETURN. If they didn't hold one the first time we left at their suggestion, why would they hold one now??!. So I sit in the lobby waiting for our RESERVED ROOM while my family enjoys the city.

Really positive experience. Rooms were clean and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The pricing was very reasonable and most importantly the breakfast bar is very well stocked.

Hotel employees were very nice and accommodating. Room was very nice. Towels needed some fabric softener but this is the case in 90% of the hotels I've visited. I was awarded "Hotel guest of the day" which was cool and allowed for free breakfast which I thought was Included anyhow. It was a nice gesture. Also. I got a cookie.

Great hotel in a great location if you are visiting Madison. The staff does a good job to ensure you have all you need for both personal or work travel. We had great success the last 3 years for our group events from 10 to 30 people that were 2-10 days in duration. Hotel is a short walk from a number of great places for food and they offer a free shuttle if the weather is bad or the walk is a bit too far. Overall a very nice hotel with a great staff, keep up the good work.

I stayed there previously. Excellent accommodations all around. Most recently I was not able to make the trip that I had plans due to Urgent circumstances. I worked with Tom the manager, and he was very accommodating in canceling my reservation. I'm very pleased with the customer service I received!

Double Tree, Madison is an amazing hotel. The staff goes above and beyond. Rooms are very comfortable. We booked our tour group there and all our bus passengers were pleased.

Tom Ziarnik is a terrible manager and runs a sloppy and irresponsible hotel. I mistakenly was charged $500 for damaging the room. When contacted, they admitted it was a mistake, but did nothing to correct it. Tom Ziarnik refused to take or return my call. I needed to contact the Visa fraud bureau. Over two weeks later and still no refund. Ziarnik knows nothing about customer service, or rectifying his own mistake. Update: Ziarnik threatened me with "defamation of character" unless I remove my post. Need I say more?

I wanted to stay at that I consider a fancy hotel. Service was very good. The furniture in the rooms were in excellent condition. I would return to this hotel.

We were using their training room for a continuing education class. The room worked well for our class, but seemed a little wide for a classroom. There was danishes, muffins, and coffee for the glass. They also provided water at the tables, which is a nice touch. They have a restaurant onsite which is convenient. You are able to park in their parking lot, although this wasn't very clear.

Location is great for anything going on around campus. The rooms were clean and modern, and having a bar and restaurant onsite makes it even more enjoyable to spend time there instead of leaving the hotel for food and drinks

Three night stay...everyone was very nice. Room is modern and clean with a new, large flat screen TV.

Came home sick with walking pneumonia after staying here 4 nights. Bacteria in the air conditioner is what the doctor thinks. I paid a lot for this sickness. The restaurant is high priced with half par meals, as well. The pool is small and difficult to access.

I like staying in hilton hotels as they always give you a fresh, warm cookie on arrival. The Doubletree in Austin has a nice cookie and it was a daily pleasure to grab a coffee from the Badgerland (it's called Badger Land after the sports team I think) restaurant and then saunter to my destination with coffee and a warm cookie grabbed from the front desk.

The restaurant is one of the better food places I have tried in a Doubletree, the others weren't bad, just overpriced and the beer was just ordinary. Madison, however, has some good local breweries and this is reflected at the bar.

Rooms here are clean, and staff friendly.

Stayed August 2012, travelled on business

I have stayed here a couple times, but have to leave a mixed review based on my most recent stay. I checked in around 1AM and construction in the hotel near my room began promptly during the 7AM hour. There was no heads up on the construction during check in, or any attempt from what I could tell to block off rooms that may be affected by the noise. I understand construction and maintenance has to happen at some point but 7AM seems too early.

I would reccomend to the management to anticipate how construction noise will affect guests and do more considerate planning such as a later start and not selling the rooms that are nearby. Yes, unsold rooms are lost revenue, but a poor customer experience can do the same.

I did call the front desk to express my concerns. Maddie was very helpful and was able to get me breakfast and coffee for my early wake up. I didn't ask or demand anything, but she showed genuine customer care by providing the gesture. Kudos to her!

Walking distance to most any attraction in downtown Madison, capital views from the higher floors, a bar/restaurant, free parking and excellent customer service.

Was given the wrong size room but they made it right.

Very nice hotel. Was there for a dinner theater and the performance was great. Did not stay at the hotel but the main lobby, badgerland bar, and conference room we used were very nice and clean.
