Doubletree Hotel Badgerland Bar and Grill Review

I really love d this place.Everyone was nice and friendly.The Hotel is a perfect place to relax and enjoy.

Never disappointed! Travel every year for high school individual state, top notch service and great staff! This year due to weather and advisory of poor travel conditions, the Double Tree management were great by accommodating us fo another night putting student safety #1. Thanks Athens Wrestling 2019.

Great staff. Nice little bar attached. Rooms are nice and updated. Easy parking, just make sure you stop and register before you park your car. The fitness center is rather small, but open 24 hours. Been several times with nothing but positive experiences

Rooms were nice and clean, pool was nice. Shower was lacking a sliding door. Water would go on to the bathroom floor, sort of a weird design. Other then that it was a great place to stay.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and we'll appointed. Breakfast in the bar offered great variety and was we'll prepared. This was the second stay for my wife and I. We will continue to use this as one of our preferred accomodations when visiting in Madison.

Great location in Madison downtown area. Within walking distance or easy drive to anywhere down town. Nice rooms (reasonable priced). Friendly staff and great parking. Totally recommend and will stay there again. Thank you Double tree- love those cookies!

The only reason I'm giving a star is because of the staff. They were all great. Please don't ever go and rentals through a third party. I went through get a room. That was my only choice at that time to do. I was misled I had a suite. No way for $432 and it was the night Paul McCartney was at the Kohl Center we just had an old room. I always stay at Hilton's honor three vacations a year. Marriott here we come and as you can tell I am extremely disappointed. I can only understand a higher rate because of the concert but that was outrageous from what we got. So be careful and make sure what is going on when you book one of these Hilton's and their Hilton honor points which I get no help with. Especially with this third party. Again the staff was extremely wonderful. The breakfast not great either. I was told it was free also.

Cousins stayed here liked it alot. Resturant served very good Food. They added extra touches to their food

I traveled on my birthday to this hotel for work and the staff there thought enough to send a card and some local beer to my room. What a thoughtful gesture that I won't soon forget. Well done Doubletree.

Came to the hotel for a concert at the Kohl Center. There is not a better location when going to a concert or a basketball game. Recently renovated. Recognize me as a diamond member right away. 9 out of 10 would stay again

Good rooms. Right in the middle of everything so you are only a short walk from restaurants, the Kohl Center, shops, and more.

Cookies are still yummy. Great location. River is nice.

DoubleTree in Madison might as well present you with a slap in the face at check-in to show how uncaring and shady they are. During my two night visit, I would have rated them much differently as the hotel was great and so was the service. My 3 year old son was with me in my hotel room and on the second night he had a sudden stomachache and threw up on the comforter. Mind you, it covered less than a 6" x 6" area, and consisted of nothing highly stainable, such as red Koolaid.

I felt terrible about the incident, but the comforter was nowhere near ruined. In fact, a good wash in the washing machine would have cleared it right up. Even if that didn't do the trick, a bit of bleach could have been applied and all would have been saved.

I expected a modest cleaning fee to be tacked on to my credit card for the trouble.

I found out days after my stay, that I was charged $150 to replace a comforter. So instead of washing a perfectly good comforter, DoubleTree of Madison threw it out! I can't believe that those comforters cost $150, but if they truly are, I also can't believe they would just throw out a $150 comforter.

I called and politely explained my situation to the woman at the front desk, the woman in billing, a Manager by the name of Anthony, and the GM, Tom Ziarnik. All, but the GM, were helpful but unable to credit my account. The GM was able to credit my account, but was not willing to, helpful, or caring. I've also contacted their corporate customer support, who have made no effort in getting in contact with me for the past week.

*UPDATE (3/27/2013)* I got in contact with someone at the corporate office. They were very sympathetic with my specific situation and were willing to refund the charge. In response to their quick and kind actions, I've revised my service rating from "Poor - Fair" to "Very Good". This is a great hotel, but be sure to keep your room clean.

Amazing amenities, great location, wonder ful staff.

This hotel is awesome! The rooms are very nice and clean while also affordable. The staff (particularly the front desk) is extremely kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. The hotel also has a shuttle bus service that will drive you to and from the airport or anywhere else in Madison. This saved me SO much money. The shuttle service is efficient and runs smoothly. They show up to your location quickly. I really enjoyed my stay here!

Hotel was very clean and elegant, staff was friendly. All what you'd come to expect from a Hilton brand.

However, while a hotel can't be held fully accountable for the actions of other guests (especially so near a college campus), the stay was less than enjoyable. The soundproofing around the room door/walls and windows was well below what I would expect from a premium suite. I was frequently disturbed by loud guests in the halls and road traffic on the top floor well into the early hours of the morning.

The front desk staff and shuttle driver were extremely friendly and helpful. Loved the hotel!

This is a great hotel in Madison. The pool is awesome. The food is good at the restaurant.

Only hung out at the bar for a couple of drinks, but the bartender was very nice. The have a good selection of whiskey and their mojitos were really good. I saw on old fashioned being created and it looked good as well.

Clean room, comfortable bedding. It's location makes it very convenient place to stay.

Very clean stay. They have stickers on the door, meaning that the room has been cleaned. Complimentary snickers snack lol.

Great hotel. Accommodations after updated and clean.

Rooms were clean & nicely appointed. However, no free coffee in room or lobby was unusual. Parking was free but due to hotel being fully booked, at our 11 pm arrival we had to use over flow lot.

Had a great time staying here over the weekend. Staff was so great! Thank you everyone for giving us a fantastic experience!

We were in Madison for WIAA basketball plus it was St. Patrick's Day. So needless to say it was nuts. We found the Double Tree and they welcomed us in even though all we wanted was a bloody mary from their bar. Everyone was just super nice. Thank you Double Tree!

I'm loyal to the Hilton brand thanks to their awesome rewards program so naturally I chose a Hilton hotel when I needed a place to stay for a New Year's wedding in Madison. This hotel offered a shuttle to our reception venue which saved us some money (only 1 uber ride home after midnight instead of needing a ride both ways) :)

The room was what I expect from a Hilton hotel room. It did have a mini fridge and a unique walk in shower (no door, no curtain).

We did explore the pool/hottub area and all was fine there as well.

Double Tree staff greet you with a warm cookie when you check in. And who doesn't like cookies??

I stopped in to meet a friend in the lobby and the lobby was nice and clean. The service appeared friendly enough. We didn't go up to the room, but there were no complaints from my friend.

Nice clean rooms, walking distance to lots of shopping and restraunts. Only downside was the amount of drunken college students, but I guess that comes with the territory. I'd stay again.

Great hotel. The king bed was comfortable with good pillows. The welcome cookie was a nice touch as well as the included water bottles in the room. Staff was friendly. Good shuttle service. Parking is included and secured. The only issue was the shower has no door to close to keep the cold air out.

I have been to this hotel a few times. I'm always impressed by the friendliness of the staff. The hotel was recently updated - I love that they got rid of the shower curtain in the bathroom! The free airport shuttle and proximity to the UW Madison campus make it a winner. It doesn't disappoint!

I have stayed 3 times in this hotel. It is in a very good location, walking distance to the Capitol and the University.The rooms were always well maintained - large beds,smooth sheets, fluffy towels. The bathroom has extra amenities including face wash, sewing kit, and vanity kit. The staff was experienced and accommodating.

Very nice amenities including a microwave and mini-fridge. Lack of exhaust fans in the bathrooms is disappointing.

New restaurant is pretty with must try menus on the menu. Cauliflower mash is fantastic. Highly recommend the Thin Mint Cheesecake. So delicious.

I attended Dinner theater hosted at the Double tree. It was a very entertaining time but I didn't see much of the hotel.

The Badgerland is a handy place to grab a dinner and a beer before a basketball at the Kohl Center. Fast and attentive service.

good hotel and service, clean and feels modern. Only issue I had was that the shower/bathroom felt a bit small. The shower itself was a death trap, it had marble floor without any mat so it was very slippery. The parking is a bit of a hassle as you need to use the hotel provided tokens.
Internet was slower than the average hotel speed.
Hotel breakfast (I opt for the buffet) was nice but nothing special.

I love this hotel. Beds are comfortable. It is clean. It is quiet. Plus you get the amazing DoubleTree cookies when you check in! I will be staying at this hotel whenever possible.

Had a great experience at the Doubletree this weekend. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. Our room was a nice size and since we are Hilton Honors members we got a couple of nice compliments like bottles of water and kettle corn. I would highly recommend joining the HH program.

Our reservation also came with a free buffet breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and it was actually very good.

Proximity to downtown is great, we were able to walk everywhere. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Went there for a meeting. Conference facilities were very nice and the staff was friendly. Also in a very central location.

I enjoyed the free cookies. Room was clean. Due to covid no complimentary breakfast of course. Great view of the state capitol. Friendly staff and the bar tender was awesome. Free parking. And house keeping made sure to keep us fresh towels.

The staff was awesome. Restaurant staff even stayed late so we could get some dinner. Elevator had trouble but the stairs were working fine.

The rooms are clean, service is always top notch. Love the free parking it is such a plus when other hotels charge $10-20 a day.

Friendly staff, very clean rooms and delicious breakfast buffet!

The staff and overall experience was great... minus my roommates. I woke up with over 40 bug bites one morning. After they got very red and swollen (and itchy) I did some searching and determined they were in fact from bed bugs. The lines of three bites on my leg are apparently indicative of bed bugs specifically. When I told the front desk, the response was, "we've never had bed bugs so it's more likely a reaction to the detergent we wash the sheets with." Apparently the bug bites all over my arms didn't look enough like bug bites for her...

Room was clean and staff was very accommodating and nice

There is so little parking there. Hard place to get in and out of. Other than that, no issues.

Excellent service. Front staff is always warm and welcoming. Love getting a warm cookie when I arrive.

Nice hotel, convenient location. Clean and well kept for a bit "older" hotel. Wonderful customer service. Sammi at the front desk gave us great suggestions for dinner and very personable. (and even an extra cookie when she found out my husband is a lifetime Diamond HHonors member) We will definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

I have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Online check-in made my actual check in completely hassle-free. The location is perfect for walking to any bars/restaurants downtown. The best part of the hotel is the Badgerland Restaurant. The service was top-notch and the food was delicious (especially the breakfast buffet)!

My stay was made easier during a very stressful time thanks to Katie when I got to my room the night I checked in...a very sweet note, a bag of popcorn and M&M s were waiting for me, which ended up being the only thing I had eaten all day!! Everyone is very nice, clean rooms. Highly recommend this hotel!!

Best hotel I've stayed at. My girlfriend and I stayed here for new years 2017. They greeted us with warm cookies, which were amazing. They also gave us buffet tickets(no idea why,these were complimentary but thank you!). It was better food than any chain breakfast place serves. I still dream about the comfy sheets in the bed. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Madison. I'd give it 20 stars if I could

Great hotel, great people working here and the restaurant is really good. The cheese curds are the best I ve had and the bartender is awesome. The pool is heated, the gym is great and the rooms are clean. Great hotel!
