Facilities and staff nice. My room was small and badly dated.
Took a table of five for a three course meal in the restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. I had the duck terrine, fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding - all of which was well cooked, serviced piping hot and actually very tasty. They restaurant was fairly quiet for a Saturday evening, but that made for a pleasant meal with friends - much better that an round West End venue.
Great hotel. Even better location...2 blocks from Holborn station and 2 blocks from the British Museum.
Small rooms
Bad customer service at the reception
Awesome hotel. Comfortable, air conditioning, all the amenities of home. Beds were large and rooms were nice size for an English hotel.
Friendly staff. Nice, clean room. Good, safe location. Strange shower. Overall a solid place to stay.
As always with DoubleTree it was a good experience. Good breakfast, efficient check-in. Only small niggle was aircon that went on/off every 2 minutes (would have been far too hot to turn it off) and beeped every time (quietly, but not so quiet when you're trying to sleep).
First time in London and the location was perfect! The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. The hotel is in the middle of renovation and the only thing was the front desk agent mentioned he was upgraded us. The room was a little bigger and everything was clean just very outdated and old. I just wish he would of given us the choice since we would of picked the more modern room we originally booked since we were only sleeping there. Other than that the beds were comfy and sure once they are fully renovated it will be nice all around!
Good value for central London, good quality and location
Not reliable, uncomfortable. Once this was over, the family room was well thought out, under the eaves. But there is better in the neighborhood
Nice reception process, bath, bed and electricity in the room
I quite liked it. Compared to West coast USA properties of the same name this was posh. The breakfast was good AND consistent EVERY DAY, weekend and weekday. There was a couple of quibbles with run down bits of the place. Like the hinges on the TV cabinet (concealing the mini fridge was about to fall off.) But it was quite nice overall. The neighborhood is fairly peaceful and you can sleep with windows cracked. Only one night did I notice an unpleasant outdoor city odor. It's So close to the British Museum too and so many other splendid things to see in London. The staff was super helpful. Management might be able to get on maintenance a bit more in the rooms, but public spaces were impecable.
Wonderful hotel and very good value for money. It was a fault free visit. Excellent staff providing excellent service.
Lovely hotel warm and comfortable and the staff are very friendly and welcoming
the room reservation service for business events has turned out to be so unprofessional that once a reservation was made and payment was made in advance, the room was not only not ready, it was not even reserved, and of course the catering service was not in charge either. the consequent upheaval that has caused, although finally they could solve it.
Nice hotel, upgraded although that meant no view, staff are amazing, so friendly and so helpful. Our room was lovely and clean, very comfy bed, a great place for a weekend stay and the free cookies are to die for. Breakfast is good, and the location is great for shopping and culture alike
Nice hotel but very small rooms with single bed as standard
This is NOT a 4 star hotel... not even close. I paid 240 pound pr night ex breakfast which they charge me an additional 20 pound for.. the room is 8 sqm bathroom included, its a depressing dark brown, dirty carpet on the floor, the shower takes ages to get the shampoo off, and the noice in the room is unbelievable!! There cant be any kind of insulation here at all. The breakfast which they charge 20 pound for is not a pleasent view either.
Good hotel in great location that felt premium compared to the price
Nice room, standard London size. Ample lobby and great breakfast. Really recomendable in a great location.
The hotel is undergoing a large renovation and frankly should be closed. I have complained three times staying at this hotel. The staff try and be helpful but frankly you would be better booking elsewhere until the work is fully and I mean fully complete.
Room was small but functional and clean. The bed was very comfy.
Good hotel. Good service. Good environment. Good location. It is not cheap.
We went for afternoon tea. Service was very good, although a bit expensive. Facilities were very good also. Can't review the rooms as we didn't stay for the night.
Staff were helpful and friendly, however the lifts constantly broke and the rooms are smaller than what the pictures showed.
Wonderful staff, great breakfast, great location and nice rooms!
Nice hotel but the rooms could be bigger. The bed is very comfortable
Absolutely perfect, cannot fault the staff all giving 100%
STAY HERE!!!! Think of this hotel like the Contonental hotel in the movie John Wick. The rooms are being renovated and are very very nice. The customer service is the best I have ever seen. Adrien, the supervisor, was on point with everything. All the staff were incredible!!! The breakfast, delicious. Location in London is perfect!! I stay at alot of hotels and the Hilton brand is always great but this stay was above and beyond. The staff went way out of their way to make sure we had rooms after a booking error on my part. Definitely choose this DoubleTree when going to London. You won't be disappointed. Mike
We arrived at this hotel and got put it a room designed for a wheelchair user. ( No discrimination). Hotel lobby was dirt with food on floor and the concierge was just looking at this. We got to our room and it was dirty and the furniture was damaged also the bathroom was dirty. I would not recommend this hotel. Cannot belove it is part of Hilton group. Don't think I would ever stay in a hoon hotel again.
Great location, functional rooms for business travel with good meeting rooms, a nice gym and good breakfast. I was only surprised the service in the restaurant/bar during dinner was quite slow and seemed understaffed. Alejandro in reception was very helpful.
Wonderful and very friendly staff! Room was small for the price and not particularly clean or well maintained!
+ Fantastic location in London, very helpful and friendly, attentive staff; simple online check-in with room selection; Room was quiet and spacious; Lobby very neat and modern. Bed was big and comfortable. Room service was quick and also very accommodating. Breakfast quality is good.
- The bathroom and room were only mediocre clean (dust, hair, grooved joints) and the furniture is a bit brittle in places, the room temperature cannot be set by the guest himself, no cleaning for one day (in favor of Hilton Honors points) is only after two Attempts worked despite the hang on the door, mini bar fridge in the cupboard was not connected.
Service was outstanding. The hotel is clean and the breakfast was good. The knock is for lack of hot water - unless you enjoy a cool shower.
Had a business meeting ,did not like the breakfast, cold beens ,cold egg,no staff handy to help, plastic coups for cafe is a No No ,especially for Hilton, left dissapointed and with stomach pain
Food food should be served at a certain temperature and always be cover with a lead.
Friendly and helpful staff, spacious and clean room. Great central area!
Small room, small bed, no complimentary water despite receiving a HHonor welcoming letter stating that I'll be provided with one. Luckily I just had 1 nite there.
Our heat never worked, the room was supposedly newly renovated but didn't look like it and I was not as pleased as I normally am...
Love the brand but I wasn't happy with this location during my stay.
We held our staff Xmas party here and the staff were so amazing! Bhini was a great organiser and Kostas and his team were great on the night. We had an amazing time and would definitely hold a party here again!
Good location close to the West End. Very nice, modern rooms.
I did not stay at the hotel, I went in to inquire about the afternoon tea and the gentleman that helped was very nice and friendly.
Clean, comfortable rooms, accommodating staff, convenient location.
Lovely kind staff especially the bar! rooms fine too
Great location, close to the subway that connects to the Stansted express. There are a number of city bus stops nearby. Near the British Museum. Very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. Solid breakfast offer. A little outdated room decoration but neat, size satisfactory. The inner staircase exudes the spirit of the 18th century interesting.
Only one functional lift and terribly slow.
To much noise from the builders, the welder had amazing skills though
Clean, centrally located, and great staff.
Loved the little phone they provided!!!
Went for afternoon tea very helpful organised vegetarian sandwiches. Plenty of tea. Staff very friendly and helpful. X
Large room and comfy bed. Central location near Russel sq and holborn.
Pretty good but need to fix elevators. They are out of order and already inadequate for this size of property
Booked this hotel for a special family birthday trip to London thinking it would be a nice treat over other budget hotels.
Initially very happy lovely lobby and great welcome from the staff. Sadly the room wasn't up to much after this especially for the money we'd paid.
Small internal room with only just enough space for a double bed. A noisy air conditioning/extractor fan outside the bathroom window throughout the night. The bathroom was needs a good refurbishment with a loosely fitting bathroom panel and chipped paint and fixtures.
The location was great though easily accessible from London Euston and a gateway to the rest of the city.
Rooms are small but we'll presented. Snacks and drinks are expensive
Nice hotel, not many negatives , had a pleasant overnight stay
Such friendly staff. Expensive drinks. Went for a murder mystery dinner. Fantastic!!!
Disgusting customer service cancelled a couple of hours after there cancellation fee due to a death an still would not refund me.
Cosy and comfy hotel, very well situated near Holborn station. Lots of food, coffee and beer nearby (strongly recommend the Espresso Room and Holborn Whippet along Sicilian Ave). Service is polite and efficient. On both occasions that I stayed, was able to access my room ahead of the stipulated 3pm check in - a major boon especially after a long sleepless layover the night before.
Rooms are well furnished, although the standard double is a tad cramped, barely enough room to move about with an open suitcase. Premium double (which I stayed in on a separate visit) is significantly larger, although bed and pillows are about the same. Breakfast is served on the LG floor, and is a fairly decent spread - that said, there's enough food in the vicinity that you really needn't spring for breakfast.
awful awful awful. tiny room. broken elevator -- apparently permanently, or at least for my entire stay. small room alone would have been tolerable had it not also been terribly ventilated and with a tired worn out decor. I'm stunned this is meant to be a five star hotel. various unexpected charges on my card, by the end i was just glad to be checking out and leaving such a terrible and utterly overpriced budget class hotel.
Although nice rooms and reasonable service, I just don't see the need to be being charged that amount of money for essentially bed and breakfast.
The service leaves much to be desired.
One of those places where you get the feeling that the staff are doing you a favour attending to you.
Rubbish service actually.
Attended a work event at this hotel. Easy to get to, staff were very nice and the place was kept to a very high standard.
Absolutely horrible experience! Tiny room, dated and dirty facilities, mattress must be a cheap made as it's wobbly and you can feel the springs. Most awful thing is, there's no sound proof in the room, I hear all sorts of noises during the whole night, in particular the water running sound!!!!!!! It's just like someone showering or using the sink / toilet in front of you! I wasn't exaggerating, it's indeed very loud!! It's driving me mad and I couldn't sleep at all!!!!!! It's definitely not even a B&B standard, let alone 4 star!! Avoid it if you can!!!
The standard that you would expect from a hotel in the Hilton Group. I use this hotel on a regular basis and have never had any problems.
check in was troublesome, bath is generally too small
