Great location and service and really good breakfast.
The room and bathroom could've been a little cleaner. Also, 2 of the 3 elevators were out of service which made for a dreadful trip downstairs.

I won't stay at this hotel again . Staff were friendly , but that is the only nice thing I have to say about this place . Shower was horrible , no water pressure, and I asked another guest if his was the same , Yes. My room was next to kitchen swamp cooler, woke up everyday at 4:30 am . I asked to move rooms but they were unable to accommodate, due to no rooms being available . Overall I would stay somewhere else , this hotel does not live up to the Hilton name , more like a Best Western.

A nice hotel right right near the airport. The rooms are well kept and all the fixtures work. The staff is friendly and courteous. It's within walking distance to several restaurants and other amenities. The breakfast here is great for a free hotel buffet. Would stay here again.

Pros

Pros
- Staff is very friendly
- room clean

Cons
- 2 out of 3 elevators were not working at one point.

I planned this trip for my boyfriends 30th birthday! We were so excited! The journey began @ 4:00 am & we got to check in early for an extra $50 on 6/19/2020. The first front desk lady was super sweet and kind. She gave great customer service. However, the first room we got checked in to had toe nail clippings, cookie crumbs, stains on the bed skirt, soda spilled on the bed stand, hand prints on the windows and mirrors, along with dried brown droplets on the door in the bathroom. As if nothing had been cleaned but the bed. We requested a new room, got one right away with the nice front desk lady. However, the second room was dirty as well. It had spilled creamer on the night stand and still stains on the bed skirt, but it was much less dirty. We were so exhausted by driving 7 hours that we decided that we would just nap & take care of it in the morning.
We went to breakfast & nothing that the hotel had advertised was available. I understand things are different because of Covid-19 but in LA everything was supposed to open the day we arrived. It was on the news. The hot tub was closed, we got a breakfast that was nothing like advertised. You'd think taking precautions for Covid they would be more clean... They should've put something on their website of the closures otherwise we would not have chose this hotel. Everything was filthy. I have photos of it all. So I asked if we could have a refund at 9:30 am and Wendy, the front desk lady was very rude and refused to give us a refund. We asked if we could show her the pictures and she refused. She only offered to give us a THIRD ROOM.
I hate being like this. I hate complaining. I don't like feeling like a nuisance... I'm really embarrassed over this because I was treated as if I was over reacting by Wendy. She had a sadistic tone. All I wanted was a nice, clean hotel to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. But I'm telling you the rooms were so disgusting I couldn't stay. She refused to give us a refund. Refused to acknowledge anything we were pleading to her about. I had to call Expedia and then they called double tree after I told them everything. She agreed to give us a refund of all but one day with taxes and fees... we hadn't even been there six hours and paid the $50 for early check in... Once you see the photos you'll see why I didn't want a third room in hopes that this one might be clean... I wanted to enjoy my trip with my honey.. I hope you all do yourselves a favor and don't give this hotel your business. The most important thing to me at any hotel is CLEANLINESS & Double Tree has a 0/10 for that. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because of the first front desk lady & after an hour and a half of calling back and forth I got my full refund.
Thank you only to Expedia for being on our side and being our advocate! Without you I would've lost a lot of money for nothing. Thank you Expedia...& Double Tree... well I hope you learn to listen and care for your guests. I was really hurt by this experience & left crying because I was worried I wouldn't be able to pay for the present I wanted to surprise my Love with... I used to have so much respect for the Double Tree, growing up it was the nicest hotel in my city... so incredibly disappointing...
Never again!!!

Edit: they don t allow photos from guests anymore on their google reviews. If you d like to see the photo s go on yelp and check them out so you know what you re getting yourself in to.

My 'go-to; whenever I travel in/near LAX. Quiet area (free parking!), close to the beaches, Westside. Rooms are large and comfortable; really nice breakfast buffet (if you have status).

This place is easier to park at than most of the hotels in the area. It's a bit farther from the airport but it's not too far. The room setup isn't bad, they've modernized it but it's always bothered me that the main light switch turns on a light in the closet. Overall an OK hotel.

Terrible place, charged me extra $25 for nothing and the customer service was an absolute disaster they even told me they can't do nothing about it was extremely rude. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Unless you tryna lose money

The only thing here that is characteristic of the DoubleTree brand is the cookie. I wish I would have read the reviews BEFORE booking because in one evening we experienced just about every complaint written. There was hair and dust on the coffee maker, the front desk agent asked entirely too many irrelevant questions during check in and seemed overworked at the same time, apparently there's a thief on the loose because someone was complaining about his clothes being taken from the laundry room (AND somebody jiggled our door handle several times), some of the guests looked and acted extremely sketchy, the bathroom tubs need upgrades and a good cleaning, the shower water became scalding hot after a few minutes for no reason, there were random stains on the curtains, the pillows aren't even big enough for the beds, and speaking of the beds I could feel the coils and I am not a heavy person....and after all of that, we woke up to a sign saying EACH AND EVERY ELEVATOR WAS BROKEN--we had to drag our luggage down 6 flights of steps and almost missed our Uber (I couldn't get any information about the airport shuttle they're supposed to have because the agents were so overworked).

Breakfast was awesome considering COVID restrictions. But definitely not enough for me to reccomend this place. The nerve of them to charge d@mn near $150 a night and be no better than a Travelodge lmaaaaaaao

Such a nice hotel and staff are AMAZING!!! The warm chocolate chip cookes were such a nice extra and the breakfast was awesome!! The only down side was having to pay for parking but its LA so no huge surprise!! The location is perfect! Easy drive to the beach, restaurants, costco and the airport! Absolutely fantastic for layovers @ LAX! Super clean, great customer service, very close to Walgreens, Ralph's Supermarket, shopping centre, restaurants and much more. This is my second time staying here. Whenever I have a layover in LA I will always choose Double Tree without a doubt. Best of all... FREE parking as I always have rental when in LA, and you get a warm soft cookie upon check in! Yum!

Nice hotel. Overall the design felt older (not very high ceilings, older fixtures and bathroom layout) but the rooms were clean and well maintained. Incredibly helpful staff. Nice gym/fitness room. Nice bar. WiFi speed was average for a hotel but it did provide good coverage. Close to LAX and to nearby restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Summary: For the price, there are certainly better options nearby.

A very nice hotel stay. Nice and professional staff. I must say Saul on night shift was exceptional. He helped with my family s stay to be more comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was awesome. Very good service.

Nice hotel. Room had a few quirks, remote for TV was not the best, vending machines wouldn't take dollar bills, yet drinks were $3, parking garage is a slight walk. Room was clean and quiet. Check in was smooth, somewhat, the room I had picked on my app was no longer available, choose another room for me but wasn't ready, ended up getting an acceptable room just not the one I picked. Hotel is conveniently located, Starbucks is a 5 minute drive as well as an In and Out. Airport noise is noticable but I was not bothered because of ear plugs. Overall, I would stay here again.

PROS: Nice, friendly staff. Complimentary shuttles and Uber to and from LAX. Hotel is only 11 minutes away from airport. CONS: Hard to spot the turn off to get to the hotel, especially at night as the sign is mostly hidden. Only one washer and dryer set available for the entire hotel to do laundry, and they're coin operated. Gift shop doesn't sell dryer sheets. Not clear that breakfast buffet is not complimentary. Called for airport shuttle service but never got picked up. An hour and a half later got hotel to send Uber, which was way better. Uber service was much more effective than the shuttle service. Connecting to the WiFi with a phone is not clear. Their WiFi is named "hhonors". If your phone browser (Chrome) does not automatically redirect you to their gateway, type 192.268.0.1 into the address bar.

This place is great. It's 8 mins. away from the airport and they send you an uber or Lyft to get to the hotel if you don't have a car and they pay for it. Their room is cozy and their beds are comfortable. Although the pillows are flat but overall it's clean and welcoming.

The rooms were horrible and had a moldy smell too it, and the hotel charges for every little thing... the biggest rip off was the $100 a night deposit they spring on you, and i booked for 6 nights!!! Ridiculous, the hotel didn t even look like an authentic Hilton.. very disappointed

We came here with a large, multinational group of 50 people on a film shoot. The team here bent over backwards to make sure all needs were met, and were super friendly while doing so. A very well-run hotel.

Just spent 4 Nights there. Rooms were ok. Carpet was stained. Woke up on the 3rd day with bites all over my neck and face. I thought they were mosquito bites at first. I am pretty sure they are bed bugs bite. Pretty gross. I did not see a single mosquito there during our stay. Due to the pandemic right now you have to request room service. Hallway smelled like weed. Parking is $20 a Night. Close to the Airport.

I was shocked that they asked if I was a California resident when I presented a passport card as my identification (a federal ID). I was told they would only accept California residents because of COVID. Whether that is a decision made by the company or city or state government I'm not sure. The check in staff also said no amenities were available. :|

Also they charge $20 for parking. The rooms are very dated. I can see why they were promoting this place at prices below $100 since there's probably much nicer business options.

The main elevator didn't work so there were signs saying to use the service elevator which had a button approximately six and a half or seven feet high. I was wondering how shorter people could even reach the button. Yikes.

There's very few good things I could say about the place. It's very close to the airport. The neighborhood is mostly business hotels and is quiet and free of homeless people.

I would not recommend here especially for the parking charge. You could probably find a place that's similar for a better price.

They have great, friendly service at the restaurant and very good process on lunch specials. The food is good, but not outstanding. The restaurant is very quiet at lunch. We were one of two tables there during the week.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! By far the worst experience I have ever encountered while traveling. If you are looking for a place with an unreliable airport shuttle (one small van and over an hour wait), musty smelling rooms, dirty sheets and terrible customer service then this is the hotel for you.

Also, the manager (Maria Hochedez) is very rude and needs to take a class in Customer Experience ASAP! Not a way to treat your Hilton Honors members.

Located near LAX and a lot of businesses. Came here to stay over night for an interview. Not much in terms of food options nearby so the only place to get to without a car is the hotel restaurant. It's open until 11 and the bar until 12a. The rooms were fine, typical hotel rooms. Bathroom was a bit old and the fauce for the tub was broken but still functional. Lots of room in the 2 bedroom sweet. View was non existent on the third floor. They give you a cookie when you enter but I would have needed two to give 5 stars. The breakfast is not free and is incredibly expensive. 30 dollars for the buffet. The parking is a bit annoying with a small lot being usually full and a parking garage that is not connected. There is a convenience shop for little things but as usual is over priced. In general it served it's purpose for my stay but I didn't feel like it was anything special.

After arriving into LAX about 7am we came to the hotel and were told that no rooms were available and we can store our bags, great! It's early, I understood. After being out all day my friend, who actually works for Hilton and got us a deal on this room, called and was told by SOMEONE at the front desk, no we did not get a name, that the room will be ready between 12-1pm! So we stop what we are doing and head to the hotel only to be told that there are still not any rooms available and we now have to wait until 3pm. DON'T QUOTE A TIME IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHEN ROOMS WILL BE READY!! that is beyond frustrating!
I work front desk CURRENTLY at Hyatt, thank god, and one thing that y'all can do better is having ALL of your staff on the same page. One lady said she would send a band aid up, one guy said you have to come down and get it. When we asked for more bath towels, one person questioned us and said we have to give the others back to get new ones - housekeeper came up and didn't even wait nor ask for the used bath towels! Also the whole thing with the early check-in - train your staff to NOT quote times! That's the worst thing to do when you have a lot of guests waiting on rooms. Just a little advice for ya ;)

I still give the 3 stars because at least your staff was friendly and your cookies were DELICIOUS!!

I really like the hotel, but the parking is a pain. Valet is offered, but the self park is across in a parking garage. First floor are about 15 spots at most...then you have to go to the 7th floor for more parking allocated to the hotel.

So if you miss the first floor spots, you have a 5 minute drive to set more parking allocated to the hotel. No lie, it takes about 5 minutes to get to the top floor. Thankfully there is an elevator to get up and down to the top floor of parking.

So if not driving or using valet, then come here. Otherwise keep in mind the parking challenge when choosing.

Only 1 of 4 elevators was working, the entire time we stayed there. We complained and were told others were going to be fixed the next day, but that never happened. As a consequence, everybody had unacceptably long wait times at the elevators. On our last full day, while I was away, the tub hot water faucet in our room jammed in the full-open position. My wife called the front desk THREE times, and no one answered.(!) So, it ran full blast for 3 hours until I returned and could wrench it shut. Not a pleasant stay, and not up to Hilton standards.
