I was disappointed in the room which was quite small and dark and, although the grounds are beautiful, I was given a downstairs room looking onto the parking lot. It was noisy all night and I had to call security twice. I made this reservation 2 months in advance and expected better accommodations given the Hilton name and the price. When I mentioned my experience to the check out counter there was no apology of any type. I would not return.
I attended a 5-day conference (California Room then Mariposa Room). The room set up was good, standard items. Main issues were that the bathrooms were not on the same floor as the conference rooms, they were one floor below. The water glasses on the tables were dirty. The street on the way there is riddled with potholes (not the hotels fault clearly, but an annoyance nonetheless), and due to normal bay area traffic, getting there is though (especially trying to go to 24 East).
Overall it was an adequate facility but nothing outstanding.
Absolutely wonderful service in a beautiful setting. I give this 5 stars and highly recommend it to anyone who is in the area.
Fantastic stay! Friendly staff, very accommodating. They even upgraded us to a suite with complimentary bfast in the morning and their bfast buffet was quite delightful with a fresh omelet station and make your own mini waffles! Fantastic!

So 2 weeks after the complaint, i haven't got my refund. Basically the hotel maybe a good hotel, but there's no guarantee that you won't see a rude reception and charge you double.
Wasn't there long enough to really enjoy the full experience. The amenities were nice though. The room was on the smaller side but was cozy enough to enjoy.

First off all, plenty of complimentary cookies! And great clean rooms, spacious bathrooms, comfortable, no complaints! Parking at the hotel costs an additional $20.
The girl at the restaurant is very rude and this hotel is nasty I don t recommend to come here at all
It's a beautiful hotel but it's pretty far from downtown Berkeley and from campus.
I love this hotel! In the time between when my husband called to reserve a room and the time we arrived, we were automatically upgraded to a king bed and a harbour view! The staff is very friendly and the complimentary cookies are delicious. We arrived late at night and only stayed one night, but next time I'll definitely be taking advantage of the fitness center and pool! This place is especially great because they're pet friendly
Wasn't an overnight guest, but attended for an event. Very lovely grounds, the buffet food was decent and the staff helpful and easy to find
Nice place but I got charged $18/day for self parking which they did not explain when I checked in. They asked would you like valet or self parking. Obviously I chose self but the cost was not explained upfront.
Other than that the stay was very nice. The hot tub and pool were nice and the park next to the hotel is a good place to walk around and have some good views.
Gave us room Next to an all night laundry, ice machine and entry door that has not been oiled in years.
The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. The atmosphere was nice and clean.

Everyone must try this place absolutely amazing. Great quality wine, full bar, hardy well thought out plates, kind helpfull welcoming environment. Located on the Bay stunning views and great grounds to walk.
This is a nice spot to stay if you don't mind they nickel and dime you. I went there for a school orientation and they want me to pay $20 for parking. I chose to park across the street for free. BTW, the hotel building is really old, maybe 40+ years, but is reasonably maintained.
I didn't stay very long, so I can't judge it very well.

Good serviceable hotel, quiet and by the marina. Check out the boat service to downtown SF. Berkeley itself is an annoying walk; use Lyft/uber.
We had a room with 2 double beds that came with breakfast and parking - breakfast is worth including, parking is not - there is plenty of parking available across the street. Indoor pool was the reason we booked here, but it was *freezing*. I'd be okay staying here again, but I'd also consider other options.
The room for the event I attended was nice and clean.
Paying to park at an already expensive hotel with ample parking is ridiculous. Stayed here numerous times previously and parking was free. The rooms are only average at best. This is not what I expect from Doubletree.

This hotel was not at all impressive from the day my mom and I arrived till the day we left.
When we first arrived the lobby was nice but when they said our room was around to the back of the hotel building #4 right then I knew it was a dump. We entered our rm which was a view of the courtyard instead of the bay veiw. This rm reminded me of a motel when you step out on the balcony it was literally 2' wide so we asked can we get a rm with a view of the bay considering this was our first time in Cali on a 2wk vacation one of the managers said no. The next day I spoke with a different manager and he said yes just wait until tomorrow Wednesday and I will give you a rm with a view of the bay they changed our rm to a rm with big visible stains on the carpet and it was pretty dirty and smaller than the rm we had so we requested another rm management agreed however the third rm when we entered I noticed a small brown spot in the crease of the ceiling and wall so i overlooked it housekeeping will get it in the morning that next morning the brown spot was gone and mom wakes up and sees a bug crawling on her bed and she scooped it up in a cup and covered it and called management they sent up the head of housekeeping and she confirmed what my mom had already told me she said "yup that's a bed bug the brown spot on the ceiling that disappeared were a group of bed bugs already occupying the rm so the hotel told me and my mom to gather all of our clothes and give it to them and they sent all of our clothes out to be dry cleaned of course they gave us another room and one of the managers said they haven't had a case of bed bugs since 2016 obviously they haven't gotten rid of them yet. So thats why this hotel received a one star rating from us if we could put no stars we would. The upside is the hotel manger on the day we left said he would comp the whole weeks stay so everything including parking the hotel would pay for unfortunately it hasn't happened yet and we stayed there the last week of August smdh!
Enjoyed my stay here, loved how I could just go outside, walk a bit and have an amazing view out to the bay. Definitely don t recommend this place if you are using public transit/ don t have a car. There aren t any restaurants nearby, it s in the middle of nowhere, and the walk to the BART station took about an hour. Other than that, the stay and experience was amazing! I definitely enjoyed it. Also, parking is $30+ tax per day. Just so you know.

Service was alright. My friends and I did have a good time at the event we were attending though.
We visited here for a wedding. The ceremony are was large and able to accommodate easily 200 people. The gronds are well groomed. This location serves Starbucks coffee and a good bar.

Pros: The staff are very friendly and kind. The setting is very beautiful! The rooms and beds are comfortable! The grounds are connected to a trail that leads to spectacular views of San Francisco and the Bay.
Cons: This is an old building. The walls are quite thin so you can hear most anything the people in the next room say or do. It is not restful at night if neighbors party, talk loudly on the phone or play music.
Great customer service, away from Berkeley's busy life. Clean rooms and has good room service. I traveled with my entire family of 6 and had no issues. Throughout our stay, I received texts from the hotel asking if everything was okay. Ana/ Allison from the front desk was great as well.
It is an old building in remodeling, to become DoubleTree, it is not as they appear in the images of your website, and that is quite disappointing when you arrive, apart from being in a quite distant area if you go as a tourist.
This is a very nice place. The room is larger than I expected, considering that there are 3 of us and we're handicapped and we were in a non handicapped room.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the housekeeping staff that helped with finding us a bathing bench for my Mother.
The room service restaurant food was really good and their service was very good.

Had a get together with a best friend, ordered 3 appetizers , 1showed up, the 2 others never did,
Pricilla our waitress treated us like we were invisible, had to go to another waitress to get condiments, Pricilla never came by once to our table to check on us, the dining experience was embarrassilng horrible, ended up eating the free cookies from r the front desk for dinner. Really Hope the Breakfast is better, if I see Prisella again, will nicely ask for another waitress to order and cross our fingers we get our food remotely right.. The food and service was so bad it really distracted my friend and I from having an enjoyable time getting together with just a few appetizers. .
This place has really gone down hill since the last tine I stayed here, So much more i could add but not worth the energy to add how terrible our dinning experience was
Cosy rooms, good view and location.
Shuttle to Berkeley downtown every hour but only until 21.00, so if you have plans for a drink you have to grab a cab.
Average breakfast, great dinner (steaks).
Updated rooms with nice bathrooms, large flat screen and a small balcony. The bed was very comfy.

The Franklin Graham samaritan's purse event was fantastic the food served by the double tree was incredibly delicious and the staff was so accommodating and professional and the guests worth the best they were so friendly the whole event was memorable and I will never forget it 5 stars for the double tree

For some specific reason I think the housekeeping is more friendly than average. But this doesn't compensate that there is apparently no ventilation system in the rooms, the air condition in the meeting rooms are working as well.

We've stayed here a few times for the low cost (Hotwire) and the indoor pool.
The pool & hot tub is in a separate building, so you have to go outside to get to it unfortunately. The pool building typically isn't warm enough. They have showers and lockers in that building.
If you're on your own with a kid, luggage can be difficult. There's no valet to help. But staff is friendly and will try to put your room near the parking lot or the pool if needed.
The rooms have always been conformable and clean.
There's a Starbucks in the main building.
The setting is pretty, you can go on nature walks or bike ride.
Oh, it's real funky getting off the highway to the hotel. Don't let it creep you out.

There were generous portions of shrimp and crab in the roll. I'd get that again in a heartbeat.

Nothing to write home about, its just another hotel, although the cookies you get after checking in are amazing, the rooms can get pretty pricey but I guess that's normal. Elevators need a few updates, when you get in them you get a little weary, wondering if it's going to suddenly plummet into the depths of hell.
Amazing staff experience while there. The van driver/front door man Peter went above and beyond to make sure the people in our group were taken care of. He was very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and gave us some great recommendations. Whenever he would see our group he would smile and see if there was anything we needed. Highly recommend this hotel just based off Peter
