Just leave me to die next time. I don't want to go though years of disputing who should pay for this after you double or triple bill me. The police force you into an ambulance and you are disabled and have no way to pay for it. This is the healthcare scam these days to break you.

The service was scheduled to arrive at 7:30pm at Fairview Hospital Cleveland Clinic to transfer my 90 yr old mother to a rehab facility in Bay Village.. A half hour past the first expected arrival time and having received no communication from the service, we had the Clinic staff call them. DM&S said it would be another 20 minutes. 40 minutes later they finally arrived. Overall, they were over an hour and a half late. The drivers offered no explanation other than to say the were sorry the "company" failed us. It's a systemic problem of lack of concern and consideration for the customer/patient and irresponsible operation in a medical operation.

In 2013 Marten & Sons transported my Mother from Lakewood Hospital to a rehab facility in Westlake. We received a bill and I paid it in full. The following year 2014 we received another bill and I had the accountant look up the account and she saw that it was paid in full and this was their mistake. Another year went by, 2015, and I received another bill. This time I came to the conclusion Marten & Sons needs a new billing system. Be careful!

Their ambulance unit number 47 was driving horrendously not using a turn signal cut a car off to get onto I-76 playing on his cell phone tailgating a semi and would not leave the left lane everyone had to pass them on the right. if this is your standard for your employees I am very disappointed they need to be fired immediately.

Was told transport would arrive at 10pm. At 10:30, no sign of them and no updated info. Called them again and they arrived at 10:45pm, 45 minutes late. Hospital staff said this transport service often runs behind and are unreliable with their estimated arrival times.

I never write reviews. I felt it was time to star...

I never write reviews. I felt it was time to start. I have a parent who had a stroke and was to be transferred from Cleveland clinic to manor care Willoughby. The saga started at 2:00. Martens just told me it will be at least 9:00 before they will be able to get her out there. To be fair when they showed up at the clinic at 2:45 the hospital still had to take out an I.V. tube. So they left. Now Martens has had a series of repeated delays and tells us it's gong to be at least 9:00 before my mother will get out to Willoughby, a thirty minute drive. So here we have family members having left the Clinic to go to Willoughby and waiting 7 hours.. More importantly, a confused recovering stroke victim doesn't know if she is coming or going. Missing dinner at both facilities, and, if she finally does get to Willoughby, will move into a rehab center in the later evening. What a shame that people have no pride in their work and care so little for others. I am sure that their overprice billing to the insurance company will not suffer similar delays. Disgusting

I had appointment in J2 of Cleveland Clinic Main C...

I had appointment in J2 of Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, I had already checked in and was with patient ID band. I was there for pre- appointment EKG. While there I experienced SOB, Chest Pain and LOC. I was at time on EKG machine, blood pressure went to 197/120 HR 135. The staff felt I needed Emergency Cardiac Care in E.R. Which was less than 400 yards (quarter way around block).

Instead of using gurney transport or CCF Emergency transport, Donald Martin Transported me out of J2 and quarter way around block to CCF ER. I am Medicare/Medicaid, they had to know for whoever ordered their service already had me checked in. To that I was admitted to cardiac unit. I know I had to sign something from ambulance crew allowing billing.

Well, Donald Martin did not attempt to bill Medicare or Medicaid following this inter CCF emergent transport. So now, they want me to pay $879.00 for their 3 minute service door to door. They missed submission of billing and now are placing with collection agency. My income is protected, Social Security that does not even equal the $879.00 bill a month.

Pleasant on phone but only real word heard was UNFORTUNATELY. Now If I had understood or been informed that I had to sign another form that came as a BILL FOR $879. As soon as I would have understood or been told, ( doesn't help when in and out of hospital since this occurrence) I would have done what signature needed.

Tell me they had my Medicare/Medicaid # at moment of pick up. I did not call ambulance, staff at CCF through DR. Determined needed emergent medical care. My information had to be given, some one signed for my release out of J2 into Donald Martin Ambulance. AND UNDER CMS MEDICARE PART B RULES, THAT EMERGENT AMBULANCE TRANSPORT FOR MEDICAL EMERGENCY IS 100% COVERED.

UNDER TITLE 42 CMS GUIDELINES; if no benificery signature is able to be obtained through attempted DOCUMENTED avenues, then the ambulance provider can submit billing with their documentation.

INSTEAD, THEY NOW ARE TELLING ME TOO LATE BECAUSE WE DID NOT BILL IN TIME, SO YOU OWE US $879.00. It is making me wonder how many elderly people are being taken by same scheme. IT is BLANTANTLY OBIVIOUS THAT MEDICARE CONTRACTS FOR PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR FOR EMERGENCY AMBULANCE TRANSPORT. SO, IF YOU ARE IN SERIOUS MEDICAL CONDITION AND DONT HOP TO QUICK ENOUGH OR KNOW WHAT OCCURS IF DON MARTIN DECIDES NOT TO SUBMITT BILLING AS DIRECTED BY TITLE 42. It seems they WOULD RATHER TAKE $ 879 from people who are covered but to ill to defend self. PATHETIC BILLING PRACTICES

I live in the area where the Donald Martens and Sons ambulance facility is. Today I was cut off by one of their ambulances, as he pulled out of their driveway without stopping or looking to see if traffic was coming. This isn't the first time one of their drivers has driven recklessly in front of me. Do not use this company.

Since there isn t a zero I choose this one star. This is a terrible company that uses broken down vehicles to transport nursing home patients without air conditioning and unqualified employees

Donald Martens & Son was a blessing in disguise when they transported my husband who has Alzheimer's from the hospital to a rehab facility. He was in a state of anxiety but was quickly put in at ease by the efficient and compassionate driver. My husband arrived at rehab with a smile on his face. I highly recommend their services.

The ambulance driver and attendant were rude. The price paid for the ride was astronomically expensive. I never received a billing statement from them so they sent it to collections with an attorney's office. They were very rude and neither the attorney nor Donald Martens would provide me with the actual bill. Very lousy! A terrible experience from start to finish!

Bordering on elder abuse! I m 75 and needed a ride after knee surgery at CCF to Concord Reserve in Westlake. I was placed in the thinnest padding I ve ever seen on a stretcher. There was no offer to brace my knee or my head and the sheet and blanket were thrown around me... not even tucked in. The belting was minimal and I was thrown all over the back. At one point the driver hit a deep pot hole going very fast on I90 and I was thrown into the aid and bounced back on my tail bone. Yes I screamed which I did a lot of during the ride. Even after getting off I90 the driver was zooming down Dover center and I screamed at her to stop and go slower. She did listen at that but we were 5 minutes away. It s been 5 days and the tailbone pain is still excruciating and the nurses here are padding it to make laying in bed more comfortable... but it isn t working. It was by far the absolute worse ride of my life ever. If I could rate Donald Martens less than zero I would. If you care for your family members and their safety and comfort DO NOT EVER USE DONALD MARTENS. And TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!

This was the WORST company I have EVER dealt with! You should NEVER have to wait more than an 1 hour let alone 4 hours to get transported from the Cleveland Clinic to a rehab facility!! I should've called Tri-County as they are much more timely.

First off, i am 38 yr old single mother of a 17 yr old son & i am a terminal cancer patient. I have a cardiac tumor & cancer in my lungs. My mother called the parma paramedics bc my father who has emphysema & he couldn't breathe in a lot of pain & i was going to go w him in the ambulance. My father is old fashioned & hides any health problems from us- his 4 daughters so he didn't want me to go & see him like that. This young arrogant most likely woman beater paramedic says he doesn't want u to go so i said ok & asked my dad u dont want me to come?- he shook his head no. I wanted to give him a hug and kiss but rt after he shook his head the paramedic (on duty right now 11pm fri feb 22nd) elbowed me (im 5'4 123lbs) once & then again harder to push me away for no reason. I said y did you just physically elbow me twice, i wish i was recording u. He said bc we're trying to take care of ur father. I said U PUT UR HANDS ON ME TWICE WHERE DO GET OFF DOING THAT AS IF ITS OK?! I asked him for his name & he put his hand over his name & radio the police got in the ambulance & shut the door. My father, mother, & 2 neighbors saw him step closer to me elbow me not once but twice on the right side where i recently had a mastectomy. I was polite there was absolutely no reason for his actions. And im sure it isnt the 1st incident like that hes done on the job. And with all of the witnesses he still got physical w a female terminal cancer patient 3xs smaller than him. Obviously hes done this before with no repercussions or consequences. Any1 else that has been physically abused or mistreated by any parma paramedic speak out bc u aren't the only one

I never have written a review before but Donald Martens and Sons Ambulance service was the worst! Not only did they have no idea how to strap in an infant latch system car seat but they disrespected me and the nurses trying to help my 15 month son. I took my son to hilcrest pediatric e.r. For a growing stye on his eye started to over take his eye and he was in so much pain the nurses were nothing but sweet and were so good with my son but when I was told we needed to be transported by squad to Cleveland clinic in Cleveland I was so terrified and they comforted me. They said due to him having an iv I couldn't take him myself. The ambulance people showed up and instantly started to interrogate me then the nurses and was beyond disrespectful took them 20 min to figure out my sons car seat and still told me I would have to hold it in place for our 35 min trip to the hospital it was banging all over and I held on to it the whole time. This was the worst experience I have ever had and these are truly two people who should work with the public and I'm sorry if your sick wear a mask the one man was snorting the whole time overtop of my son. Never ever again!

Forewarning: After a month of trying to get a hold of the signed paperwork-my signature was forged by this ambulance service!
I owe about a grand for a 30 minute ride and I have no idea who signed my name or why.

This company is a joke. Late for appointments, extremely unprofessional. They seem to think that important doctor s appointments are not important for sick patients. DO NOT TRUST IF YOU NEED HELP, THE WORST.

Horrible company to deal with regarding billing issues. Sarah Lindsey (Medicare Specialist) "used loosely here'' seems to never be at her desk to discuss billing issues and refuses to call you back after leaving numerous voice mails to do so. So now I have to get Medicare involved to get money back that was paid in error when all that needed to be done was to apply the erroneous amount to the legit bill and a separate invoice to be sent for the difference of $51 that was still owed.

The second time in four weeks that Martins did not show up for a doctor's appointment. If I did this to custimers I would be out of business. Really not sure why any facility would continue to use this company. This is the first time I have ever given a bad review of any company.
