Very nice open air museum. In some places there are 'actors' present who show how things used to be done (such as the pastor or the farrier). Friendly people. Well maintained. Please note that parking still costs 5 euros.

An open air museum in Genk. Spacious and green. Absolutely worth a visit. A large parking makes it easy. There is also a brewery where one taste beer. It s a large place and needs about 2-3 hours to see the entire place. It s a kid friendly place and fit for a family outing.

A site to see absolutely!

A site to see absolutely!
Plan several visits because the extent of the area is very large and a day will not be enough. A lot of wonderful play for children, neat catering points, a wonderfully maintained park.
A superb arboretum.
Preferably choose the flowering season of Rhododendron and Azalea to enjoy a wonderful show.
Parking package at 5 for the day.

Open-air museum on rural life with faithful reconstructions of villages and farms. To make it even more captivating for the little ones there are interactive games and labs. My 5 year old son had a great time. Duration of the visit about 2 and a half hours. The restaurant inside the museum is also very good. Ideal for spending a nice day outdoors.

Recommended with guide and activities. We baked bread and made a leather wallet. While the bread was rising we took a walk through the domain under the guidance of a friendly and knowledgeable guide. After this walk our sandwich was baked

Bokrijk has been magical. Even tho was cloudy and rainy. I got to experience the traditional belgium history of 1913. As one of the (probably) few traditionalists left, I appreciated every minutes spent there as well as the 5 hours walking it took to deeply explore the area. Just one thing I didn't like: some animals were ridiculously enchained; it was particularly tough to see birds in that status. Greetings from Italy!

Beautiful and well-kept open-air museum, but there are too few tablets for the Breughel game, resulting in long queues. Of the 4 hours that the trip lasts, we have been in queues for at least 2 hours. Hence 3 out of 5.

Open air museum nice to walk and enjoy the countryside with kids and the dog. The place is pet friendly so you can take your dog with you. Some restaurants with local food are available around the area. In winter time after 25th December, all the area is full of carrousels for kids and fire performances all around the place. Fireworks at 19:00 as well.

Bokrijk offers a wide range of attractions. There is an open air museum showing historic buildings from all regions in Flanders, ranging from farm houses over windmills to city merchant houses. Ancient crafts are demonstrated, you can taste local produce, or participate in a wide variety of workshops. Bokrijk also features a large playground, an arboretum, and ample opportunity for walks in the surrounding woods. Several restaurants are on site, catering to various tastes and price ranges. Definitely worth a visit.

A few places were undergoing renovation when we went but we still had a great time. The houses are beautifully preserved, the gardens are magnificent and there's plenty of open space to just enjoy and.. walk though!

There are 120 buildings here, that depict how Flanders was, a couple centuries ago! Though people aren't living here, staff are dressed to enact household characters of centuries ago! The windmill is the best. Local millers from all over this region, take turns to come here to operate it, so visitors can actually experience it!

It had been 30 years since I was there again. Nice walk. The Bruegel route was fun. For people who have difficulty walking, a little more benches should be provided, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Because there is nothing to criticize in the park and the staff. And the bakery with the 10s of TV screens was a bit off putting and chaotic. That TV wall didn't really fit in. Would rather have seen 1 screen with info than.

Due to the Covid measures, part of the houses was closed and the actors were not there in the village with the school. What I can understand. I will not include this in the score due to snapshot and exceptional circumstances.

The measures taken are impeccably taken care of and the staff very friendly during these times.

It's just a pity that the majority of the visitors and the class that attended did not follow the route and the rules. But the park can do little about that ...

Be sure to stop by when you are in the area. And please stick to the distances and the route dear people. A mouth mask is not mandatory outside but I only held it because others literally stood against me and kept no distance.

This is in my opinion the nicest open air museum in the world. It's one of a kind!

It takes you down to the (really) old days with houses, cottages, games, food...

Depending on the time there are people 'living' and 'working' in certain areas of the park, which provides you with a unique look into the days of yore.

We went at night for the fire parade. I thought the parade was a little short... And several houses were closed. I was not very impressed. I did like the information boards, where one could read a little info about the house you were looking at.

Super museum, from the time of garden. Many buildings are inhabited and these people wear traditional costumes. They keep animals, pigs, chickens and everything.
Also do the cycling or walking through the water, fantastic. You can also take a nice walk at the ponds around the domain and for the kids there is a large playground at the castle. A full day trip. 5 out of 5

Nice experience with the Breugel trail in the Open Air Museum. Only a few places had to wait in line, but that never took long and the distances between the visitors were well respected. Friendly guidance.

Normally I like to come by but now because of the corona measures I didn't like it that much. A lot of houses could not be visited, there was no animation and the sixties were not open. Fortunately, the entrance fee with its 5 euros was not too bad.

Ongelooflijk mooi.....fijne wandeling , lekker koffietje met taart (takeaway) en dan nog een vriendelijke kruidentuinman die tijd maakte om ons even wat deskundige uitleg te geven. Heerlijk uitstapje.

Great green location in the middle of Limburg. Don't forget to try the path through the water. The park is public and free. A part of the park is a museum where you have to buy an entry ticket (not expensive).

Beautiful domain to explore in peace.

Beautiful domain to explore in peace.
A lot reminded me of my childhood when there are: skipping rope, hopscotch, stilt walk, hoops.

It was a nice day with my twin grandchildren M & M, they had a lot of fun with, among other things, the ladder bulge. After this visit they could enjoy themselves in the large playground.
