Napa Valley winery. It was very crowded with people. The garden is beautiful and you can relax.
Napa Valley winery. It was very crowded with people. The garden is beautiful and you can relax.
One of the very best chardonnay's, battery and smooth.
Good facility, good views. Good for kids/families and is dog friendly. Very packed, average wines and systematic service at best. Prices are comparable to other big wineries. Not intimidated and lacks character.
Enjoyed a great bottle of champagne and a wonderful weather.
The most awesome place to start learning about wines. I'm not a wine fan. but this guy Tyler (tour guide) made me feel more interested about it. he described wine making process with so much passion that will make you feel interested too. you get behind the scenes access and at the final part you'll taste some sparkling wines. totally worth 40$
We got here later in the day. It's a good size beautiful winery. The service is very good and professional. The raw oysters were delicious! There was a open bar as well as the wine tasting bar. We had a wonderful experience. After wine tasting, we took a stroll around the back and took lots of pictures.
This winery holds a special place in my heart, over 20 years ago my husband proposed to me here. The grounds of this facility are gorgeous, bring a picnic and enjoy. We love Domain Chandon Sparkling Wine. The Brut, Rose and Blanc de Noir are all outstanding and delicious. It is very popular and can be crowded. Week days are best if you can manage it, weekends can be a zoo. Unfortunately, their restaurant closed several years ago, which was a true loss, the food was outstanding and service was meticulous. Their chandon club is worthwhile, if you love the bubbly, even their still wines are good. But bubbles are better. Enjoy!
Steven was great at the Chandon club Bar! Knows what is going on with topography, area, soul, grapes and human psychology! Great to connect with an expert, professional and enjoy all the great grapes.
Had a great time! Having a great rose and sitting in
the Adirondack chairs on the hill was a beautiful experience. Karly was great!
Such a gorgeous winery. This was our first stop on our wine weekend and the stroll up to the front doors was such a welcome treat. Just beautiful! We ordered the sparkling flights and sat on the patio. We also had a cheese board that was good as well.
This is definitely one of my favorite places. The champagne and wine tasting is unparalleled and the grounds beautiful, but the real gem is the restaurant where every course is delicious. I cannot wait to go back again soon.
While Domaine Chandon feels like a huge corporate winery and is lacking some of the Napa charm, we had a very nice experience there. We took a tour as part of our wine train experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed the way they poured the tastings as the tour went on. The sparkling wine (NOT Champagne) was also a nice break from the copious amounts of wine we had ingested at the other wineries. The whole place had a "get you into the gift shop to spend more money" feel, especially as they didn't actually have vines at any point of the tour, but the tasting itself was enjoyable. It would be nice to have a less Disney World of Wine feel, particularly with the visitor center, but it was a worthwhile stop in the area.
The staff is doing a great job with physical distancing. I felt very taken care of and completely safe
Beautiful grassy knolls border the tasting room for a wonderful outdoor experience.
I will say this is one of the most beautiful properties we visited in Napa. They do offer tours but we were unable to get in same day, so we did a tasting at the bar instead. They have tons of tables and seating outside to enjoy your tasting. And they offer a variety of different tastings which is awesome when you have a group of folks with different tastes in wine. It was one of the most relaxing spots we visited while in town.
We went on our own and this was our first winery on our SF trip. We got to try 3 different sparkling wines, and the third one was sooooo good that we had to buy it haha. It is a beautiful place, but unfortunately they don t do tours.. its just the tastings. But I still recommend it.
Beautiful!! My friends and I went without an appointment, walked in and got a couple of glasses of wine and an appetizer. Once we got our food we walked outside and sat in one of many groups of chairs that they had set up. The views are amazing! The best part about Chandon is that it doesn t feel like other pretentious winery s! Oh, the wine is good too!!
Amazing place!! Must visit.. 1st stop before you visit other winery in Napa.
Probably one of the poshest vineyard experience that I've had this trip. Especially so since its owned by House Chandon, they really made this place feel like a million bucks. They do sparkling bubbly wines, with the same processes as how you'd make Champagne. Thoroughly enjoyed the private bubbly tasting session, where we tried 5 different bubbles from Chandon with a private tour guide at a private space. Really recommend it!
We ended up buying 6 bottles for the 3 of us (would have gotten more if not for the fact that we were touring and flying around, and they don't deliver to Asia).
The architecture was amazing and the view was beautiful. We saw people bring their blankets and food for a picnic.
This winery is overdone. If you're looking for a winery that feels like a city bar, then this is the place to go. If you want quality wines with a relaxing atmosphere, this place is not for you.
A favorite winery of mine. You can tour the facility and learn how sparking wine is made. Make an appointment in advance for the tour. You can sign up for a tour when you arrive but tours are at set times. If you do so upon arrival you might have wait for availability depending on the time of year you visit . We love visiting the wine country during Easter weekend. The crowds are lower and most of the major wineries remain open. Would suggest you consider joining their wine club. Wines are delivered quarterly. The property maintains Beautiful gardens and the best tasting room in Yountville.
Tastings are slightly expensive, but a great selection of bubbly and still wines. It's a must on our trips to wine country.
A must stop if you love champagne! We walked right up and immediately we're able to start our tasting. We enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds during the tasting as well!
Was a wine club member for several years and have been to the property many times (not since COVID though). Nice place to visit and generally good service. Wine club and member web site have deteriorated and they don't seem to care.
Was a fan of the L'Argent Pinot but the other reds are unimpressive. Sparkling wines are good, especially the etoile series, but overpriced even with member discount (many are significantly cheaper at Total Wine & More)
Great wine tasting. Prices are really good. Place was beautiful and comfortable. Service was really good. They have a lot of different options.
Tasted amazing sparkling wine and the hospitality team is absolutely the best!
If you want some champagne or sparkling wine, this is the place to come to. We did a tasting of 3 wines and I thought they were pretty good, though I like my wine sweeter. According to my co-workers, you can take your wine glass when you're done, but I don't know if that is still the case now. We hung out outside for a while drinking our wine and it was really nice. Lots of patio seating, arches and green.
Overall, if you're into sparkling wine, come here for a drink.
Great tour through the world of wines!
We've always wondered how such a small Napa Valley can produce so much wine: The grapes are mostly from Mexico! It is pressed in Napa Valley ...
Right next to it is the Veterans Home. The injured "lawn" with their electric wheelchairs, decorated with stars and banners, past the winery, you have to jump aside
Fantastic sparkling wines. A very beautiful place to be
Christopher was the best!!! Today was my best experience I have ever had in napa.
If there were negative stars I would give it. As a club member I haven't been able to reach anyone at Domaine Chandon by phone or email for months. All mailboxes are full and they don't return messages.
Where are you and what's going on?
I actually thought they had closed until I saw a review from two weeks ago.
They currently have most horrible client service in Napa Valley and the wine industry. So disappointed
and shocked.
Large place that can get very busy on a nice weekend day. Service is a bit harried as a result and it can be a little annoying to do one of the self-paced tastings.
Honestly, one of my least favorite wineries. I adore bubbles and am a fan but of only a few. Chandon has become very commercialized. Apparent there used to be a restaurant but it's gone! Real disappointing. No tour, just a ton of tastings. :/
A tourist favorite- famous for their bubbly, this large tasting room has sweeping valley views and restaurant with an expansive outdoor patio.
Very cool under the trees, excellent people watching, medium wine. I wouldn t go back but I had a good time. If you re last minute looking for a spot that s open and it s past 4pm, this is your place!
You'd think a winery as big as Chandon would lose its identity or level of service but each time we've been to Chandon it's been better than the last. They really offer the full experience you could want a winery from beautiful grounds to ease of getting to as well as a wide range of wines in the tasting bar.
Club members (which we aren't yet) get to sit out on the verandah and sip all sorts of sparkling wines.
But the Michelin-star restaurant, Etoile is probably the best kept secret. Their chef was on Food & Wine's "Best New Chefs-People's Choice" list for 2011.
Chandon is owned by Moet & Chandon, makers of Dom Perignon. What more could you ask for?
A few girlfriends and I went bubbly tasting on a beautiful Monday. Domaine Chandone was our first stop. We experienced the best tour and tasting given by Helena. The grounds are beautiful and wines are amazing. I learned so much. Although, we were in a group of about 12 people, you never felt like you were left out of the conversations. This place has is down when comes to consumer experiences.
Beautiful place with great tastings and cheese plate! We went on a Friday and were worried about no reservations but there is lots of seating so we were able to get in without a problem. Worth checking out!
Great bubbly! No where to sit in the tasting room though. Beautiful environment. Tasting serving size was also inconsistent and smaller than expected. Still would visit again
Book in for the champagne tour as it gets crowded but is worth doing! Good selection to taste from
Couldn't tell you how it is, the terrible service prevented me from having any experience to share. Left after waiting a while when the bartender couldn't be bothered. Seemed to be purposefully ignoring us, preferring to keep serving some young girls next to us and then newcomers on the other side of us, or gossiping with the other bartender who also didn't seem to feel it was their job to serve us. Went to many superior tasting rooms today, I'd skip this one.
Fabulous wine and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Great place! Amazing tour! Debbie Dean (hope I got her name right) knows her stuff!!!!!
Service was good until I was asked to wear a mask in an area no one else was wearing masks. Employee was aggressively following myself and a friend around the open yard where no one else wore masks and then angrily followed us to the parking lot. I almost considered being a wine club member until this point. He was rude and not being friendly about mask policy, I am always okay with using masks near others but we were over 20ft away from anyone else and the employee stopped us from walking around. Unhappy with how much we paid to be met with this experience.
The estate is located in a beautiful park. The visit is, of course, entirely dedicated to sparkling wines where the estate excels. Admittedly, the interior decor is starting to date a bit and deserves a paint job, but frankly it doesn't matter. The old style side is well suited to tasting and the public is delighted.
They had 4 different tasting options and each one was about $20. The difference is whether you got to try four of their lower ones or up to two of their prestigious ones. We went for the four and we had very generous pours.
The people working were were very kind and talkative. They are happy to talk about their business and everything here. Also, there are various other wines that you get to taste complimentary. One was a red sparkling, which wasn't for my palette.
I would say it is best to go with the high end tasting, especially if you are the driver.
Enjoyed our time here a lot. Love the wine.
Also super dog friendly, nice staff even bring water for our dog:)
Way too expensive for the tiny pours you get. Compared to the other 7 wineries we went to they were the least personable. I would not recommend. If you love champagne maybe your experience would be better that ours.
Domain Chandon, famous for sparkling wines
Rather than going a little drunk and feeling delicious
Oh, this atmosphere is so good !!! The last winery I heard
I bought four bottles of wine here and gave a bottle of friends as a gift
Great place to grab a bottle of wine, relax in their Adirondack chairs and look at the mountain views. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
A MUST STOP! If you love champagne, and sparkling wine, don't miss this place. Beautiful grounds, just be prepared to wait to taste.
First stop on the Wine Train estate tour. The sparkling wine was delightful, the beautiful grounds were expansive, and the food pairing was quite good. Highly recommend for a leisurely brunch. We left too quickly. I will be going back!!
While the actual winery is amazing, the service and the wines are lacking. It would be a good idea to make a reservation a day early and get to the winery early because of the lines. If you want a less personal experience, commercial tasting experience; this would be perfect especially for larger groups of 4+
If you are looking to experience some quality sparkling wines, there are better and cheaper places in Napa.
Very nice grounds and nice bubbly to go with the views!
This is a beautiful winery with incredible sparkling. The tour guide was informative and fun. This was one of our favorite stops.
Great winery and outdoor area. Have both sparkling or still wine flights or by the glass tasting.
I have come here many times and it is always a blast! The grounds are gorgeous and spacious. The sparkling wine is awesome and you can even shop while you're there! We had the best service ever by Edgar and had the opportunity to meet the manager Owen as well. They were both one of the best parts of our dining experience! Can't wait to go back!!!
WARNING If you have food allergies, specifically sensitivities to sulfites avoid these wines. One and a half glasses of Chandon sparkling rose necessitated a $2500 trip to the ER for my adult daughter who had a severe respiratory reaction to Chandon Sparkling Rose. The winery did not help us when we asked for a list of ingredients. Really Chandon? Shame on you.
The wine was fine, but the location was crowded and so we didn't get a chance to talk to the tasting room manager. It's a worthwhile stop, but I have a feeling that there are other, less crowded options for sparkling wine in the valley.
In general their wines are good. But some of their private vintages are excellent.
So glad to have had another piece of home ... California... for Christmas. Visiting here years ago by way of the Napa wine train was tasty elegant and relaxing. Can't wait to go back. Glad I keep membership for shipping deals.
One of the most famous winehouses here in the region. Tasting room and terraces are lovely.
Very beautiful winery especially if you can find a seat at the turf. Sip your wine and relax there. Other seating options didn t look attractive but quite boring. It was a little bit crowded to be comfortable. For a 25$ I would have preferred to taste more than 3 wines.
One of the wineries with better structure and beautiful park.
Beautiful wine. INSANE number of flies in December.
The Walmart of your wine tasting tour. Big paved lot, highly visible location, all classes of customer. The wine tastes like wine.
I was completely surprised my my visit to Chandon. The facility is excellent, good parking, restrooms, air conditioned in a very modern building. The wines themselves are a very welcome change to the standard Napa fair, delightfully sparkling and refreshing. The tasting fee is also very reasonable!
Just skip it. We had the worst time ever. Wouldn't go back even if we get paid to go back.
Had a Vegas feel walking into the entrance. All they needed was some bass pumping and would have felt like the strip. Grounds are beautiful although the pond at the front was starting to smell a little fisky with all that algae floating on top. Generous pours, although felt more like standing at a bar on the strip waiting for service. When it's crowded, cannot get too much information about various products since they're so busy. Great place to have lunch or apps and just chilax beyond tasting room. Would go back again, but a little earlier next time to avoid the several tour busses spewing their exhaust out front. The corporate machine has definitely taken over.
Ask for Debbie. She is fantastic. Great knowledge and shares it in a way a simple guy like me can understand. I ve always enjoyed Moet, and it s nice to be able to enjoy the American family. Excellent French style wine and wonderful sparkling wine. The Etoile is absolutely worth it.
My favorite sparkling wine winery, no reservations needed, bottles and glasses reasonably priced and great outdoor views to the vineyard and mountains. I went here twice during the same day, drank by the glass instead of the tastings. I would recommend their chardonnay to anybody who has never tried it before.
I'm so glad I found you, my love!
Chandon is like my long-lost love that I finally found. I came here with on a girls trip with two friends to experience the best of Napa! My friend Shalini said we must stop at Chandon first. What a good decision. The grounds are breathtaking, amazing, and beautiful. Kind of like a Wonderland and I was Alice.
All of the ponds and the grass and the trees was just perfect. Once inside the building all of the woodwork and the teak was so gorgeous.
When we got to the tasting area we we were greeted by Antwon and Karly. They were such amazing hosts! They really made my first trip to Napa so special. My friend is a wine club member so we might have got treated a little special for that. Makes me want to be a wine club member too. Apparently you get one free tasting a day and so does your friend if you're a wine club member. Good to know
Interesting tour
Great wine tasting , and light good food
Tasting room is a beautiful space with decent bubbly.
Premium champagne but not expensive, there is a good restaurant in addition to wine, and Tour.
Very posh and exquisite. When I visited here, at the time I was underage so I couldn't try out the drinks but the display and experience was magnificent and it can be quite intimidating! Definitely a must-see before you leave the valley.
We had such an amazing day at Chandon recently. We got a bottle of their famous Rose sparkling wine with a cheese plate pairing and it was as perfect as it could possibly be. We went outside and found some nice chairs to soend a couple of hours drinking while enjoying the scenery.
Very fun and different experience! Got to try two different wines as an added bonus to our rose flight tasting. Mocktail tasting was also very nice. Host was very cheerful and knowledgeable, very attentive. Beautiful location
If you ever come here to wine taste get Antwuan. They should just make him a manager or something. He knows how to take care of people
Beautiful property and nice tasting but not worth buying wine here that you can get cheaper elsewhere unless you really fall in love with some of the reserves. Great first stop on a long day of wine tasting.
No question-- the worst experience we had in Napa. Definitely skip it. The service is just awful and the wine is forgettable at best. Draws an extremely douchey crowd. Pretty gross.
We love this place. We had a breakfast after ride balloon. Great moments.
