We purchased a leather sectional this past weekend, and after this experience I can say I will never purchase any furniture from anyone else. This business is outstanding, quality was excellent,no pressure, with fair pricing. Our sales person, Mary Vance, was patient, friendly, and knowledgeable regarding our particular selection, even though she shared with us that she was fairly new to her position. She helped us remain in our budget, and we are very grateful to her, and the sales manager, Tony, for that. We are interested in other items, and will definitely be back.

Kay Lynn is a wonderful sales person and took special lengths to be of assistance in our purchase. Once again, Doerr furniture has gained our confidence.

Doerr is a special place! I recall shopping there with my parents and hope to continue the tradition now that I have children and grandchildren. The staff is always professional and friendly. I love being in the Doerr family !!!!

I was looking for something very specific . I wanted a queen sleeper sofa in a solid neutral color . I called and asked for the sales person . Danielle picked up the phone and volunteered to text me Photographs with the price tag of at least six sleeper sofas that fitted the discription I wanted . My husband and I went that day and met with Danielle .All of the employess there were very friendly . Someone offered us water as soon as we arrived . Danielle was very knowlegable and honest . She anwered every question we had . We bought our sofa that day . The price was very readonable for the quality .

We worked with Harvey on the purchase of our outdoor table. He was true to his word, always getting back with us when we asked a question. He even contacted us on his day off and that is real dedication. We got a very good price and can t wait to enjoy our new furniture for the patio.

We recently found an unfurnished place in Marigny and decided to drop in at nearby Doerr's, where we were extremely fortunate to be connected with Sylvia Brooks. She immediately made us feel welcome and gave us an orientation tour of the store, since we said we were there just to see what all they had rather than having anything specific in mind. She let us know that the selections were not limited to what was on the floor; instead, they could custom design pretty much anything we wanted. Then she left us alone to wander around the store but checked in with us from time to time. By the end of those two hours, Sylvia had completely gained our trust and had established a very high comfort level with us. Now, after a couple of weeks of shopping and meeting with Sylvia, she's become a friend who is fun to shop with. She came to our place and took pictures and measurements to help us figure out what would work in our space. She showed us countless fabrics and designs and was honest in her appraisal of the suitability of the ones that we were interested in. The fact that she has professional design training was evident from the start, and has been of great value to us. We are not yet finished furnishing our place but we will continue to rely on Sylvia to help us complete the project. Finally, we were very impressed with the quality of the merchandise that Doerr's sells, as well as with the appearance and general feel of the store. You only need to walk into any other furniture or department store and you will immediately see the difference in quality, with Doerr's being superior. The prices are reasonable, too. Finally, I agree with other comments in that I like supporting a local business that has been a New Orleans institution for decades.

Make the trip to Doerr before you buy. They have great things there... some unique items you just might love. :-)

bought my flex steel couches there great customer service and great design consultant and great delivery personnel so i went back and bought a dinning room table everything went fine only one chair had damage i had to wait for a technician see if it can be fix well we see i would expect that they would just order a new one when you pay almost 4000 you don't want someone to fix it i know the screws are strip they fell out and the seat is separated from part of the base why should i wait sounds like i went to rooms to go

My first furniture shopping experience was a success. Nicole was great, even though she was new she was a tremendous help. The only negative was how long the furniture took to come in (10 weeks), but I don't think that's really Doerr's fault. What I was most impressed with was that they gave me a loaner couch for the 10 weeks! I couldn't believe it. The prices are a little high but you get what you pay for.

Went here and was somewhat skeptical if I would purchase anything because prices are largely absent from their website. I m so glad I did. Danielle was amazingly helpful and knowledgeable. She took time to listen to my needs while patiently answering all of my questions. I m definitely going to be back to get more stuff as I finish unpacking. I highly recommend this store, and Danielle. Delivery was a breeze, and the guys who brought my furniture were friendly, nice, and very careful not to damage it or my walls. Make it your first stop when shopping.

Several weeks ago, I walked into Doerr Furniture needing to furnish an entire townhome. This was going to be a monumental undertaking needed to be accomplished in a short period of time. I was fortunate to be greeted by a lovely lady and in-home design consultant, Sylvia Brooks.
We walked the store and she helped come up with furniture options for my bedrooms and living spaces. Sylvia couldn't have been any more patient and interested in what direction my personal tastes took the furniture selections. I did rely heavily on her recommendations, which were tasteful and wonderful.
I had come in with a picture of a beautiful king canopy brass bed that I had seen somewhere recently. I was hoping to find one just like it. Doerr did not have any in their showroom, but as I have now become accustomed, that did not deter Sylvia. She researched further for a week and lo and behold emailed me a picture of a similar bed better than the one I had showed her, and ordered it for me!
During the process of making decisions, Sylvia set up a convenient time to come by my townhome and see the space and to take measurements, enhancing her ability to make good design choices for me. A few weeks later, when my children's bedrooms sets came in, I decided that I wanted to add a desk to one room, which created a space issue. Sylvia came by again to consider the space, and then with some help came over after work on a Sunday and reworked the shelving units in the walk in closet to accomodates the chests of drawers, opening up space in the bedroom, enough ample space now to include the desk.
After the rest of the furniture comes in, Sylvia has offered to continue to help me furnish the townhome by aiding in finding window treatments for some of the rooms. I don't believe that I have ever experienced customer service like this in my life. Sylvia has gone above and beyond on this project. She has made this awesome task easier for me. Kudos on a job well done!

Great place to get furniture. I ended up not getting anything when I came, but they are on my mind when considering options.

I called Doerr furniture looking for metal bed slats for my queen size bed..up and until this point know one had what I needed in stock..until I contacted Doerr furniture..Theresa took my call and she begin to take care of my needs..she was not able to give me a direct answer on if she had the metal slat frame ..but that she would check the warehouse and see If it was in stock..she took my information and said she would call back..well to me I felt I better continue my search just in case she had know luck in finding what I needed..and online I found what I needed..but it was going to take up until Tuesday until I was able to receive my item. I went on ahead and ordered it..not even 3min afterwards. Theresa called me saying she had what I needed in stock at the warehouse..my jar dropped open..as I shook my head I began to explain to Theresa that I had just ordered the metal slat frame and I just paid $89.00 dollars for it..Theresa explained to me that was the cost for for the one she has..I went on to say that I needed to know the type of metal slat frame it was. She sent me a email...and to my surprise it was the same item and cost ..so I called the online company back to cancel my order..saying all this to say patience is a quality we often time lack and as a result can potentially cost us time and money. It's absolutely nice to know that people like Theresa still exist .. because she did her job she made my day better .. thanks Doerr..for great customer service and that extra priority and professionalism it was the icing on the cake..if ever I need furnishings or just to give a referral..you have my personal word ..." like Arnold Schwarzenegger ill be back and my testimony to friends and family on my experience..again thank you Doerr family..

I think the lamps are beautiful, but was disappointed when I received an email from Lighting New York offering the exact same Quoizel Tiffany floor lamps for $100 cheaper each with free two day shipping. I will check online before I make my next purchase.

Great experience. Judy Murphy in sales did a great job! The delivery men were excellent, even pointed out some damage and report the issue to their supervisor before removing the piece from the truck. Damage did not impede the usage but Doerr called the next day to assure me a replacement was ordered and would be delivered. So happy with the pieces. I ll update when the replacement arrives.

I saw a cabinet on sale on Doerr's website. Went in to see it and met Theresa. She was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. And the cabinet was at a lower price than advertised! I have been shopping at Doerr Furniture for the last 35 years. I have never been disappointed with my furniture purchases. You can always expect great quality furniture and along with great customer service. Jamie and Janel are excellent to work with, and both can offer their expertise in designing.

Doerr has been in business for many, many years. With its lovely selection of furniture, rugs, and beds, it has much to offer its customers. This is the third time we ve gone to Doerrs for our major furniture purchases, and Harvey has been our salesperson each time. He really knows furniture and has good relationships with his long time customers. We appreciate his knowledge and willingness to help us in the process.

The quality of the furniture seemed OK, but the showroom was way too packed full of stuff and not organized in any coherent manner to easily browse. I ll probably try and take a look online next time (rather than going in person).
