Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park Review

So awesome. The cast is amazing and the park is clean and we'll taken care of. Every experience is above and beyond. The Safari is my absolute favorite and the knowledge of the drivers is always extensive. Disney does a great job at making the experience magical. If you don't have a great time then you didn't have the right mindset. Come prepared for crowds but keep your joy, and don't get in a hurry letting every one take that from you. Expect people to walk slow or stand in the middle of the walkways. It's all part of the package but if you just enjoy and take everything in you will have so much more fun and enjoyment.

Great park to spend the day, the Avatar ride is one of the best. Open spaces to stop and take in the scenery, lots of animals to see and the kids can do the Wilderness Adventure book and collect the stickers.

I think this is my second favorite Disney park, behind Hollywood studios. The avatar area is fantastic, but go early because the lines are enormous: the first time we spent 4 hours in the line! Go early or get a fast pass. Another great attraction is the everest expedition. And the tree of life, of course.

This is a great park to see many different unique animals. It has alot of big attractions. One of them is the tree of life. It is the tree in the middle of Animal Kingdom that hosts many different night shows. The other astonishing attraction is Pandora, from Avatar. This area is floating islands, waterfalls, unique plants, mountain banshees, and the Na'vi. It has two amazing rides: Na'vi river journey, and the one of the most popular rides in disney world, Avatar flight of passage. When I went, there was a 240 minute wait for the ride. Luckily, I had a fastpass. If you are an animal lover, Animal Kingdom is the place to go.

My grand daughter (12) and I (70 years young) had a Magical Day!! Our favorite RIDE was Avatar Flight of Passage !!! It felt like we were really flying and the movements were so smooth. It was excellent. This is a "can't miss" ride! Get a Fast Pass 6 to 8 days before your expected arrival at Disney.

More to do for teens through adult. However really great whole family shows, my faves are Finding Nemo and Bug's Life. The Yeti coaster is great but make sure you can handle a coaster that goes backwards! The Safari ride is great!! Rainforest Cafe is where you want to eat.

The social distancing was excellent. Food at Satuli was great and walk ons to all the rides was spectacular.

Good experience, magical place. The app to order the food is excellent, but in restaurants they take a long time to prepare it. I spent more than 15 minutes waiting for what I order online. When other persons arrived and order directly at the restaurant, they got served in less than 5 minutes.

We absolutely love this park. We enjoy the Safari early in the morning when alot of the animals are out.

January 7 was our very first visit to Animal Kingdom. It was a lot to see but not enough time to see it all due to long wait times and the park closed early since school started back and its no longer peak season.

Parking was not bad. We paid $25 for standard parking and the tram picks you up and takes you to the main entrance. Make sure you pay attention to where you park though so you can find your vehicle at the end of your trip.

Security - Allocate enough time for them to check your backpacks and/or purses. You also have to go through the metal detector.

We were only able to ride one attraction due to time constraints. Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain a dark thrill ride with big drops. Not scary, but screaming helps while on the drops in my opinion. I would have LOVED to ride the Avatar ride but the wait time was ridiculous and it was impossible to get a FastPass. I guess people who are true Disney fans or experts got their way in advance

Food - Yak & Yeti outdoor portions had a Turkey and bag of chips for $15.99. Turkey Leg could have used some more seasoning but they did have condiments for you to dress it up. Wait time for the food was not long at all. Also, the restaurant portion is different from the Locals Food Cafe depending on what you want to eat.

Animal kingdom was one of my favorite parts of this trip. This park was a little less crowded than the rest, and we were able to get a lot done in one day. There were not as many rides here as the other Disney parks, however, the ones that are here are well done and enjoyable. I wish I would have taken more pictures for my review, the gardens and grounds of the park were great.

One of the most versatile parks for kids/adults of different ages. The shows are all really high quality, the animals bring a unique Disney experience and there are some great thrilling rides as well. I have 9 kids ranging between 1 and 16 and everyone had a great time. The new area for Avatar and its ride are amazing too!

I was able to do everything that I wanted to do. It was nice having fewer people in the park. All of the cast members are always very helpful whenever I had a question. I hope I can return soon.

Fist visit since adding Pandora. My family loved it. We will definitely be back. We love Mt. Everest.

The animal kingdom was awesome!! The avatar ride was legit, and we loved the safari ride. Definitely worth your time! The shows here were fun, there weren t many rides that we liked other than avatar and the dinosaur one.

Most unique of the Disney Parks. Great food and drink options and lots to explore.

Amazing place to visit. By far the most attractive of all Disney Parks, so much effort has gone into every attraction on the park. Pandora is a must see if you're visiting Orlando and Disney Parks. Flight of the Passage is the best ride we have EVER been on!!

Made me feel like I left the country without leaving.

Crowd levels were very low July 2020 right after reopening. Rode Flight of the Banshee twice in 40 mins. Most rides were a walk on.

Now is the time to go. I felt very safe. Plenty of social distancing. Shorter lines and very clean.

Wonderful to experience the magic of Disney at Animal Kingdom. Pandora is a sight to see and Flight of the Passage is a truly magnificent ride!

AVATAR...If you have not been on that ride you are missing out in my opinion. The river came alive as I got to fly on a Banshee..IMPRESSIVE!!! I was in awe. Soaring used to be my favorite ride but Avatar took the number one spot. I could go on and on but you could go try it yourself.

Try to book a fast pass for the Safari in the morning. Very cool animal encounters.

Note that with the new changes the normal ticket only buys you the right to stand up in line and feel poor after the people that bought the fast passes walk by you. Be prepared to wait 2 hours per ride in line. Disney has become a ripoff. A lo the existing reviews here are written by the PR people from Disney to drown any negative reviews in a sea of 5 stars reviews.

Definitely recommend the new Avatar ride, it was truly an amazing experience! Otherwise, crowded, hot, but a great time.

Most shows where awesome but same as few yrs ago. Very long line even on rainy day. Only 3 fast past a day compared to unlimited few yrs ago. Foods were not that great. Good that we bought our own snacks n drinks. Restrooms clean most of the time but not enough.

Many rides were out of action for periods today (Everest, dinoland, and the falls ride in Asia. The lines for Pandora rides were therefore even longer than the usual ridiculous times (155 minutes). The park was clean and staff pleasant. Car parks easy to get in and out of. Lots of shaded areas to rest.

My personal favourite of all the parks in Disney World. Here you can watch wild animals (rhinos, tigers, gorillas and more) and also have some fun rides as well. Everything is very lovely presented and full of details about different cultures, Pandora (the world of Avatar) and more. All in all a must-visit when you're around!

The park was great, but Pandora was two hours walking in line to get to the ride which was very short,but awesome.most of the new rides was out of fast pass when we got there and long wait to get on .but we still had fun.

Pandora it is the feature everyone goes to see for the most part. The floating rocks, beautiful structures and scenery, custom made 3D printed Avatars, and the rides! All the rides! Flight of Passage is by far the best ride I have ever been More

This place is BEAUTIFUL!! The scenery is literally phenomenal. Pandora is a work of art day and night. My absolute favourite though is the gorgeous iconic tree of life that quite literally towers over the park. It's so cool it's part of the Bugs Life attraction! This had to be one of my favourite parks of all. Again the staff were amazing and the security were really friendly and talkative. The Dinosaur restaurant was great and had lots of choices to add onto your food (sauce and extras). You can't have an awful day here.

Great experience, as always! Even with masks and distancing, Disney kept everything on point! Kudos to all of the workers, y'all are amazing!

We had a great time. Busy park. Everything was great besides the Lion King Show. We had fast passes for it thinking we would be sitting in the front for the event and our seats were no different if we would have just stood in the regular line. It was a beautiful day though. Usually if it gets too hot the park is 10 degrees warming than the actual temperature. I see that more trees have been added for shade which is a huge plus.

Animal Kingdom is an awesome place to spend the day........ A must have is the dole whip pineapple flavored ice cream

Awesome...masks and social distancing were enforced. Sanitizer everywhere, masks available for sale. Did a great job with the reopening.

The animal park was an excellent place to visit. IMO the best of the Disney parks!!. All rides were available but the obstacle course and many of the smaller rides remained closed. Also much of the refreshment stands also were CLOSED.

I generically try not to go to places where everyone goes to on vacation because I like to try new things but in this case, this was different. I couldn't believe the service how GOOD these people were! I mean, I know they're supposed to tell you have a magical day and all but I have had multiple experiences in this hotel alone that would make me want to come back again and again. From the hospitality to a moment where my wife had to go to the emergency room and they paid for the ambulance and paramedics and a taxi back to the lodge once we were done, to even coming and knocking on our door and checking up on my wife every morning after for 2 or 3 days just to see how she was doing and if there was anything they could do to help. If we were to plan another trip to Disney, this is where we're going every single time from now till forever! Best vacation in a long time!!

Avitar was a great ride the weather was nice. I enjoyed Africa & Asia

An incredible park and one you should not overlook. The attention to detail on the themed areas is exceptional especially the Pandora section. It was truly the highlight of our visit when the bioluminescence started appearing on sundown. The Avatar Flight of Passage ride was incredible, the seams of the experience were almost invisible. The food in the Pandora restaurant was of such a high quality you could have mistaken it for a proper sit down restaurant. The night time light show was very impressive and there were many rides that would satisfy the thrill seekers among us. I recommend using the app to work the Fast Pass system to your favour as the lines for the rides in Pandora are rather astronomical.

This is my favorite park of them all. The rides are all great but the shows are also top notch. Make sure to see the UP bird show and the Safari! We haven't been on the Avatar rides yet but I am sure they are incredible

This park is my favorite park of the 4 Disney World Theme Parks. If you're looking for thrill rides, I recommend "Expedition Everest" and "Avatar: Flight of Passage". The park also has a more relaxed safari ride that is worth trying. Bring comfortable shoes and be prepared to stand or walk a considerable amount. This is one of the more popular parks so expect relatively long waits on those popular rides.

Always love be this park. Maybe it is all the greenery or the animals but it makes me calmer and more relaxed than any of the others on offer. Great viewing on the safari. Highly recommended.

This past July, my family and I went down to Disney World for vacation during a pandemic and it was an experience like no other. Animal Kingdom is probably my favorite Disney park and this trip was no different. The park was SUPER empty so there was plenty of room for activities and room for social distancing. We got right on the Kilimanjaro Safari and there was no wait, at all. It stormed a little bit during our visit but we were inside eating at Rainforest Cafe so it didn t effect us (I ll do a separate review on some eating experiences down in Florida at a different time) There were no waits at all, I walked right onto Expedition Everest and it was such an amazing experience and then my wife and I walked onto Dinosaur, no wait and got the front car plus the whole vehicle all to ourselves. The only bad thing I would say is that Dinoland USA is really empty right now and just looks sad. Only the Triceratops Spin is running and one gift shop is back there. Overall it was an amazing experience, cast members were super friendly and kept us feeling safe all day. Oh, another thing, there was no wait at all for Flight of Passage, my wife and I walked right on and it was our favorite ride of the day. Just be mindful if you re a bigger person like I am, it s a tight squeeze with the back and leg restraints but totally worth it.

After spending and great deal of money to come here the entire process was lack luster, understaffed, and those present were rude and absolutely ruthless when it came to weighted sweat filled masks dropping below your nose. Disney portrays the happiest place in the world yet was not given once arrived. Those who are here are stressed and overwhelmed by the reopen. A great majority of the amenities were not open yet the prices do not reflect a lesser package. All in all poor visit and poor experience, wishing I d spent a full week in Universal after leaving there this afternoon.

My girlfriend loved this park it was by far her favorite out of all the ones we had went to. Smwe enjoyed short lines and had a lot of fun here!

Love the animals the environment that the animals are in looks really good. Really busy but lots to do and places to eat. The tree of life is out of this world a must see. Staff friendly and most the shows and rides are suitable for the whole family. The finding Nemo show was amazing.

I love this place! I brought my grandmother here to see the Lion king show in Africa. And she loved it so much. The safari was a bit rough on the bum. But the animals were very close. It s a very large park. I don t think a lot of people know about the petting zoo in the back. We had a great time. And I have to say I felt real fit leaving with the walking :).

I m being generous with 2 stars. If long lines and wasting time is for you then you ll enjoy this place. For the price I paid I managed to go on 2 rides which both I waited at least one hour. Don t even dream of doing avatar where the line looped the entire park. Minimum 3 hours. I asked some people in line if they were mentally unstable. You must really not value your time to wait over 3 hours for a couple of minutes of pleasure. Park is gorgeous I ll admit but not worth the amount I spent to walk around.

Animal Kingdom was great...but the animals definitely did NOT rule the kingdom. The family had fun. The rides were good for our five year old. Everyone enjoyed the shows. The food was average. The prices were high as expected.

We enjoyed the park a lot. The Safari ride was incredible. Our guide stopped the vehicle and just sat quietly with us listening to all three lions roaring. It was awesome. My three year old daughter really enjoyed it.

I thought this was not going to be another "zoo" type experience, I know that certain species must be viewed from behind safety of glass or fence, however I expected the animals to have a much more spacious and natural habitat. They do NOT, and it is sad. As for the "attraction" Safari? Well, it was also quite the letdown, as the safari vehicles extremely fast barely giving you time to view what they are pointing out much less take pictures. It is very sterile experience. You get done and think, wow, now can we go again HALF speed and actually learn and observe the animals and their behavior?

As for rides, the only real 5 star experience imo was the Avatar Flight of Passage 3d experience, that brought up my review from a 2 to a 3. However get to this ride FIRST thing when park opens or be prepared for 90 to 180 or even longer to get on. Phenomonal job there, and wish I could ride again, perhaps instead of fast pass, Disney could experiment with "Ride Again" option, allowing peeps to pay for privilege to ride back to back those rides they really enjoyed, including Avatar and the Safari.

I would gladly pay for that upgrade :)

We rope dropped Animal kingdom so we could get the shortest wait time on Flight of Passage and it is totally worth it. The whole experience before you get to the ride is out of this world, you forget you are waiting. Just after the ride you exit by a snacks hut called Pongu Pongu. We got the French toast sticks and a night blossom drink really refreshing after a long wait for FOP.

The safari is a must ride every drive is a different experience.

Combines experiences generally found at several other parks. There's an African safari, Yeti ride that is similar to Disney California's Matterhorn, a dinosaur area (centered on the younger crowd), and a river rafting experience. Even when not during the busy season you could easily spend the day here.

Its always a wild time at Disney Animal Kingdom. It really is an incredible park and a must do for Central Florida families. We're annual passholders and Animal Kingdom has been our favorite park out of all of them with magic kingdom in close second place

The exhibits are very nice. Be prepared for a ton of walking. The Avatar rides are pretty awesome, especially flying an Ikran/Banshee. That was pretty incredible. Again, everything is very overpriced but what can you do.

Such a great park. The latest addition of Pandora is excellent. The animal safari is the best; love seeing the animals in a close representation of their natural habitat.

Beautifully done but not one of my favourite parks. The safari was my favourite.

Day 1 of our 4 day park pass was amazing! Soooo much to see and do for little and big kids alike. My 4 year old is already having the time of her life and we've only been here one day. Disney is, and always has been the most magical place on earth.

In my opinion the best of the Disney parks !
Best deal is the 3 or 4 day gate passes !
Ample but not free parking.
Take a shuttle from a hotel if possible
The attractions were wonderful.
Take advantage of the fast pass reservation
System to avoid long lines.
You will not be disappointed!

If you have never gone to Animal kingdom ,it s a must go. I enjoyed the animals the ride the sceneries. The shows my experience was Epic. I can never get enough of all the wonders of Disney!

Very nice park, a lot of things to see. I loved expedition Everest and flight of passage.Safari was pretty cool as well. Must see place!
Food was not that great but the park is amazing..

I loved this park. It is well laid out .the shows are very good. Rides fun. There is also more shade from all of the trees than other parks, so it doesn't seem as hot. We had a lunch at Tuskers and all of the disney characters came to visit us while we relaxed in the air conditioning.

So much fun highly recommend. Make sure to bring snacks it s a long walk around. Must see the lion king show Wow! So good !! Everything about this park was fun and great for little kids

Our first time here and definitely one of our most favorite Disney Parks!

I would say don't come until the mask requirement is dropped. It was quite unpleasant.

Great place to visit if you can but crowded and very expensive.

AWESOME day and time at Animal Kingdom. A place where you have fun and learn about animals and their habit.

Everything was great until we went to pick up lunch we waited over 2 hours for lunch and we were not the only ones waiting they need to fix that part of it

This was by far the best park we went too. It wasnt as busy as the others and it had good rides. The safari is the best, you can see the animals in their actual surrounds.. They have lots of different animals..

They also have lots of characters here that u can meet that lines are extremely long in other parks.

First time to this park and it was a great visit. Everyone was so very helpful, exactly what would expect at Disney. Rides were fun and exciting and it was a great day of firsts for our child. First time to a Disney park, first roller coaster ride, first super expensive ice lemonade, etc. Fast pass was a little hokey but we got the rides we wanted today. Definitely a place to return to in the evening for the night shows.

This place is excellent! Pandora was amazing and even better at night! If you go during the day you need to visit this park at night l....especially Pandora! The immersive experience at night is amazing!

We love to visit all the different kinds of animals and all the other attractions there.

Love this place, if you can visit later on in the day its even better, less busy too. The animals are beyond beautiful. We has a safari around 4pm and it was perfect timing to see them all walking around

This part was a little easier to navigate with my large group of kids. I am very impressed with the details and just the general atmosphere of this park. I enjoyed the safari and Avatar themed section. We went to that part at night! That is a must!

Love this park! It's definitely my favorite park. Highly recommend Pandora & the show in the courtyard at Africa. Definitely recommend checking everything out here though.
