I received two gift cards for skills classes. I chose "Delicious Dumplings" for the first and it was fantastic. The studio space is gorgeous and spotless, the instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable and the food was super tasty and fun to make. I can't wait to go back!

Did a cooking class yesterday. Food was great, instructor was amazing. They need to find a way to incorporate everyone during the cooking or divide the tasks evenly I found that once I was done doing a task, making the pasta, I didn't know where to go next. There were some people who just stayed in there one station. There needs to be a time mechanism or they need to figure out a way where groups can rotate to each cooking station, so they're not stuck doing the same thing or don't know what to do next.

We have been to a half a dozen classes at Dish at the old location and new location on College. This is a bucket list moment for couples, family or friends. They do such a good job putting fabulous menus together and you meet such interesting people. The staff are knowledgeable and efficient.

Only feedback I have is that the recipes are delivered in more user friendly format/ even offered at the evening to those who want them- for $165 per person - the recipes on paper should be included as well, so to not put the onus on the student.

We just had our Christmas party here and it went much better than I anticipated. I'm not a foodie person and I have 2 left hands in the kitchen and still had a really great time helping with the cooking. We ate what we cooked and the food was delicious.

The guys at The Dish will go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. I highly recommend it!

Love this place! I have been 4 times in the last year for a variety of course types! Own the kitchen, take home lasagna & station work.

Everyone that works here is LOVELY and want you to have a good time. This is a great date idea, solo activity or friend session!

You will learn great cooking technique and stuffed!!!

Bonus: they make a delicious martini!

Couple of suggestions for Dish: perhaps offer a discount if it's the first time ever for a new class / menu as the people participating are guinea pigs. If it's possible to make a snack to eat along the way ....you typically don't end up eating until 3 hours later & ration food a bit better - it kills me to see so much food waste after certain classes.

Really enjoyed the experience. Learned in a professional yet fun environment to make many dishes (we had a 4 course dinner). Had a great dinner afterwards. A win win situation. Highly recommend.

2nd visit. We cooked Food of Love on Feb 13,2020.
Everything I said before remains absolutely true.
Erin and her team are a pleasure to learn from and the food is fantastic.

I had been to Dish Cooking Studio about 10 years ago for a family cooking experience. It was great then but wondered if it would be as good if a friend and I participated with people we did not know. The entire experience was beyond expectation; fantastic menu, exceptional food, great vibe in the studio and just an overall great experience. I highly recommend it.

My first class or perhaps my first ever cooking lesson and in the kitchen for the first time, I have to tell you, Erin and Courtney and the whole Dish Studio Team expertly handled my shyness and instructed me in such an easy way, it felt like I was made to be a Chef. The whole environment here is so phenomenal and so friendly, I can t wait for my next lesson.
Not to mention for a beginner I chose a rather hard lesson where it involves seafood as mussels, shrimp, crab cake but now it feels so easy. Kudos to the whole Dish a cooking Studio Team

Took my first cooking class at Dish and had a blast. It was hands on and I was involved in preparing each of the 3 course in the menu. I was impressed by the coordination and timing by the staff that allowed us to prepare each element of the meal and sit down to enjoy it all in 3 hours. I met some wonderful people and would do it again in a heartbeat

This was the most enjoyable cooking class / dinner that I have done. The facility is clean and spacious. But the thing that sets them apart is their staff. They were helpful and involved without being bossy.
The final product was very tasty (we did the Mexican Fiesta) and the company was grand.

Attended their whole hog butchery as an early Christmas present for my dad, and it was a blast! We really got to break down the whole hog from nose to tail, and came away with some of the best pork we have ever tasted. Overall, the staff and instructors were very knowledgeable at Dish. They shared their know-how with the class in a very informative way, but in a manner that is fun, enjoyable, and comfortable. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a fun date night, family bonding time, or who simply loves to learn and enjoys their time in the kitchen.

Incredible experience - can't say enough good things about this hands on experience. The head chef, Erin, and her two team mates Olivia and Jazy Wu were INCREDIBLE. The food was phenomenal, the kitchen state of the art, the ambiance was excellent. We had such a great time. Will definitely be back for more. Good for gifts as couples, families, groups, parties, any celebration.

My wife and I took a cooking class at Dish Cooking Studio on Saturday October 12th. We LOVED IT. The entire experience, from the introductions, the professionalism, the fun, the other attendees, and of course the amazing food prepared. Wonderful. We highly recommend participating in one of their classes yourself.

I ve been to Dish Cooking Studios 3 times thus far and plan on going to another one next month. My preference for chef host is Erin. Her energy, menu choices and quality of food are all outstanding. A great experience to share with a friend, a spouse, family member or to go solo. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.

Hands-on at Dish was Saturday date night on our we...

Hands-on at Dish was Saturday date night on our weekend getaway to Toronto! We went to the New Nordic hands-on class which had an exciting array of unique foods, cooked entirely by all of the 17 attendees, with assistance from their lovely staff. They provided a complementary welcome drink when we arrived and then split us up into groups of 4 or so to prepare the four courses which was basically hors d'oeuvres, side, main protein, and dessert. Each dish had a unique technical component. The great part is you get to eat everything, the unfortunate part is you are only hands-on with the course you are assigned. Though you can walk around and ask the other stations what they did, which is a fine way to mingle. I have to give this four stars (my heart says five) because I wish they had a system where you can either pre-select a station based on when you signed up, or be randomly assigned as individuals or couples to a station. We raised our hands to learn how to cook the duck breast (as did everyone else), but ended up being assigned to do the carrot dish because there were too many. It ended up great anyway, we got to our station and pickled, sauteed, chopped, blended, rolled, and roasted carrots into a visually stunning and delicious dish. At the end we all sat at one big table and enjoyed the fruits of our labor. Learned a lot! And they will send you the recipes for everything after. :) Check it out

Really good staff - calm, cool, and collected. They answered all my little cooking questions. A great mix of restaurant fine dining and learning how to cook without making it feel over whelming. That being said, for hands-on classes, don t expect to be cooking the full meal yourself! It is more a collective team work with very good guidance.

First time at a cooking class. Great experience. Their timing is pretty good. It extended one hour later because we actually got to try our hand at cooking everything on the menu and then had a group dinner. I went solo (which felt a bit awkward at first) but it would really be fun with friends or a partner. I recommend!

Everything was fantastic so there is not much to complain about. The only constructive feedback is that we wish we didn't have to sit and talk to strangers. If we could sit on our own (since it was Valentine's day), that would have been better.

I have been to dish studio five times with my friend who loves to cook and learn but she had a personal situation so she gifted her space to my son. It was a great way to spend time with my adult son who loves good food and also enjoys cooking. After we prepared the meal we sat across from another Mom and her adult son..
My son said it was awesome and he would definitely like to do other classes..

For Christmas I will be gifting my adult son & daughter the knife skills class. Learning an important skill, enjoying great food and having fun together.

Went in for a large decaf coffee in the AM. Paid 5 dollars for a cup of coffee.
Then tasted it. Watery and tasteless. I told the barista that it was not good. Her reply was sorry, we use pods and walked away.
Very disappointed- hoping for gourmet got a terrible cup of coffee for the price of a latte!

I have done a number of cooking classes over the years and Dish Cooking Studio is without a doubt the best of them all. The staff are attentive and caring to the needs of their participants. They are fun and show that they are enjoying their time too. The kitchen is fully stocked and fully prepared for a class. There was no watching and all participants were as actively involved as they wanted to be. I can't wait to do another class with them.

We did the RAMEN 101 class and had a great time learning how to make all parts of the ramen and we got to meet some great people as well.

Definitely worth it! Learned a few tips and tricks during this class, the main one being- frying fish on parchment which ensures that your fish never gets stuck to your pan! So much fun and met some great people too. Will definitely sign up again. (Best part? Eating an awesome meal that you helped make at the end of it!) Highly recommend. Great date night if you've run out of things to do, but would sign up quick as classes fill up very fast.

The first time I went to a cooking school was at the Dirty Apron in Vancouver back in 2009. Dish s format was different but still enjoyable. There is a short introduction and description of the food to be prepared and where everything is. There are no dedicated workstation for each pair, but rather one giant commercial kitchen space with three stoves and plenty of food preparation area (there s also an oven and blast chiller etc.). Instead of watching a demo of each dish being made and then making it on your own from scratch, you choose which components you want to be a part of, with the opportunity to move around to try other things. Everything came together nicely, and it was still fun, but definitely liked the way classes were conducted at the Dirty Apron a lot better. One of the best parts was chatting with the other guests at the dining table at the end.

The experience was fantastic. If you'll be bringing a date, this is a great date-night type of event.

I think my expectations of what I would do at the evening Thai cooking class was different. My expectation was to learn how to cook the 7 courses. I didn't get a chance to really "learn" each dish that was being made as it was more drop-in style for each station. By the time I went to check out the other station, it was already half way through. I mostly just saw the outcome of all of the dishes.

However, I know there are different styles. Just check Dish's type of classes so you aren't disappointed.

Otherwise, great experience and would recommend.

I attended a cooking class with my brother and mom for my moms birthday. The whole experience was very fun and I would highly recommend this as a gift for friends, family or significant others. The recipes designed by the chefs are delicious and creative, the experience of cooking together was very hands on and exciting, and then we got to enjoy a 3 course meal with what we cooked. Very worth the price and would 100% go back for another class.

A friend and I participated in the Chiang Mai Night Market Cooking experience recently at Dish. The event was well organized from start to finish. The team gave us a little run down of how the class was going to operate along with some warm introductions to themselves. This class is excellent for a date night, any type of group night out or even a solo adventure. There were about 20 of us and we all took to various stations and tasks throughout the night. Tasting the food and drinks was my favorite part! This was some of the best thai food I have made and tasted. Even the chicken satay wasnt as good in chiang mai itself. This is a bit on the pricier side for your typical cooking class, but I would pay for this experience again! It is a must try!

Margaret and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Dish Cooking Studio for an evening billed as "Hawker Fare: Singaporean Street Food". Under the expert guidance of Chef Cara Tegler, we chopped, diced, sauteed, poached, baked and grilled our way through a mountain of fresh vegetables, meats and spices into a tantalizing four-course meal for 16 that we savoured and took us back to open-air hawker markets in Singapore - Popiah, Curry Laska, Hainanese Chicken, finishing off with Mini Pandan Chiffon Cakes! The camaraderie was great, and the kitchen and facilities were out of a cooking show. Highly recommend it!
