We visited during the month of February when they offered a membership exchange with Santa Ana Zoo. My five children range in age from 5 to 17. They all had a great time exploring the exhibits. We visited 4 times during the month and still had lots to do and new things to discover. Definitely recommend the family membership!

A little pricey not a whole lot to do especially if you have a younger children. I highly advise your children be at least 6 years of age and older to be able to understand a lot of what's going on. The dino exhibit was cool, but overall I think the science Discovery Cube needs a facelift inside.

Wonderful place for toddlers to experiment and play. The museum changes exhibits quarterly keeping things fresh. The best day to go is on weekdays as it can get a bit crowded midday during the weekends.

Had a great time at the Bubblefest. It was a little crowded but was to be expected. We parked across the street in the overflow lot, which was great because there was no $5 parking fee. Other exhibits were aimed mostly at older kids not toddlers.

This place is very educational for kids of all ages. It was just so packed with people that you had to wait in lines to do any of the different activities for hands on learning. It was worth it and my daughter had fun. If you have young children I definitely recommend this place for some educational fun.

This place is amazing! My kids loved it here. We spent about 4 hours here and still didn't get to see everything. It's definitely a fun place for younger kids probably 12 and under. I would come back a million times as long as my kids still enjoy it.

Bubblefest is totally worth the price of both admissions. My kids had a blast during the laser bubble show.
The science of hockey was also a group favorite.
We went on a Thursday and had no real crowds to deal with.
Staff was friendly and bathrooms were clean. 5 stars all the way around.

For the seventh year in a row, we brought our scho...

For the seventh year in a row, we brought our school's entire 5th grade to the Center (mid-March 2014). The exhibits were fun, and their expansion wing that is due to open next year looks like it will be great, Our students didn't enjoy the outdoor dinosaur fossil exhibit very much, but they liked everything else there. However, just like last year, the customer service that the adults received was less than professional and was really quite irritating. In fact, we will probably not be returning next year and will instead take a different field trip. One of our rented buses broke down on the way, delaying its arrival by 45 minutes and putting us there 24 minutes after our tour was to begin. In response, the museum decided to cut our 3 hour tour in half, allowing us to only visit the bottom floor. Only after our lead teacher begged, pleaded, and reasoned with them for nearly 20 minutes while we waited for the delayed bus to arrive, they finally changed their minds and just cut out one half-hour length demonstration which more than put us back on schedule. Second, we were told in writing via email that any parents who drove down and attended with us would pay $11 for admission, the discounted price for adults attending with school groups. However, the museum refused to honor this at the door and instead charged each parent $15.00, the regular admission price. Third, our students' gift shop orders were not filled accurately, with a difference of $12.91 in just my class. For example, one student ordered two items that cost a total of $15.50, and they replaced them with 2 items worth $6.11, with the prices clearly marked on the packages, so she lost $9.39. Try explaining to a ten year old why her items are missing or why they were replaced with items worth less than half the price they paid. Her parents are angry and I have directed them to contact the Center to seek resolution but warned her that most likely they will not make it right, based on our prior experience with them. If the Center made an extra 13 bucks off of my 15 students who ordered items, I can only imagine the total amount that they are gleaning off of the several dozen classes who attend every day. Last year, the same thing happened with our gift shop order, so at least I got to warn my class this year not to count on actually getting every item they paid for. Another incident that happened LAST year is that we ended up with an extra chaperone coming along, so I paid for her admission out of my pocket. Then, when an extra wrist band was found, I asked at the front counter for a refund. They refused, and said that I would have to send a letter asking for a refund along with the receipt and wait several weeks before they would consider giving me a refund because we were part of a school group and had paid discounted group rates. I don't think I have ever experienced such a collection of poor business practices and a general lack of courtesy at a museum, amusement park, or other facility that serves children. DCS, your administration needs to put better customer service policies in place and re-train the people who are currently working at your front counter. Our students had a great time, but in general, the visit left a very bad taste in our mouths.

The Kids in town should spend time here. Why, ever season, they offer new show, like winter fest, dinosaur show, laser show, lego adventure, bubble fest, and more. Also the membership price is affordable, and 2 years is 120 bucks. Highly recommended.

My 2yr old love this place we're members and he loves all the activities. His favorite is the bubble show, they should have had it like last year outside in the parking lot. But he loves this place and can spend all day here. Went to the dinosaur I recommend it kids love it, they may get scare I know my son did when they move but we'll worth the trip

Just ok, confusing layout, fixed exibits are dull and out dated. IF YOU ARE ALONE and chaperoning 2 or more younger kids, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. YOU WILL LOSS SITE OF THEM! Making your experience VERY stressful. They need a complete overhaul of this venue. Boring! Other kids museums are way better. Irvine pretend museum is much better. The cube is just kind of dull. Never in a rush to go back.

Took my niece here for their Doc Mcstuffins playground area and I was just blown away by the amount of information they have their for children to learn from. Tons of different science factoids and displays for kids to learn from. The food court pretty much only serves healthy food options so if you were looking for junk food or maybe just have a picky child maybe plan to pack a lunch. Otherwise the food itself taste good and the servers are extremely friendly.

Multiple field trips going on at once without any notice to normal patrons from the staff. We are from out of state and wouldn't have wasted our time and money if we would have known. There was chaos with the students yelling and screaming and no care for others at the center. My 18 month old was knocked over several times and my six year old was constantly shoved out of the way by other kids. Staff observing the entire thing, I don't know if it's the parents or the staff not enforcing respect for other people but definitely not making another trip again.

I honestly thought it would be bigger and have more to do. But what we did see and participate in was pretty fun. I couldn t see myself having a membership as it might get boring, but we did enjoy our afternoon here. Food is overpriced and very bland but all natural, so that s nice.

This place is always fun to take the kids to be can go and explore on their own and there s many different options of things for them to do. As much as I do not like shopping my kids really enjoy the shopping section of the museum as well as the outdoor dinosaur area

Disappointing for anyone above childhood age. Saw YouTube videos and it was when they must've opened up and now it's pretty run down. When it rains the dinosaur exhibit outside gets closed. Not missing out though.

First of all, I would like to say my 6 and 4 year old go out a lot, so they expect a lot from places. We came here, expecting a lot more than what we got. It is an okay place to take the kids, if you live in Orange County and get the yearly pass. The science museum seemed a little run down and some of the exhibits were not working. I would not recommend this place for kids under 7. They have an earthquake simulator, a dinosaur exhibit and other science exhibits that are meant for school aged kids. Younger kids will be entertained in the small play area and by some exhibits, but overall, will get bored. This is more of a school field trip place than a family outing. Their website is also glitchy when getting Kaiser discounts. Overall, it is an okay place. I would recommend to go on the weekends, they have more exhibits and activities. The bubble exhibit is pretty cool.

I took my 6 year old here for her birthday. She loved the exhibits because they were all interactive. Even her 9 year old cousin, who is usually more interested in a screen, had fun! It was just enough to get the kids spongey brains filled, without exhausting us parents!

Prepare to be here for two or three hrs, there's so much hands on experiments . you are allowed to bring a lunch bag with snacks. There's a small cafeteria in case you didnt bring snacks. Look for coupons , sometimes you can get on child in for free. Defenetly worth the trip.

I was asked what I wanted to do for my 59th birthday from a friend and I said the discovery cube. We both not only learned something, but we had a blast too. I know you think it's a kid's place, but it's not.

Very impressive and tech-y Children's Discovery museum. $6 parking. Clean and spacious with lots of exhibits. So many interactive exhibits. Dino hunt outside. Small rock climbing wall indoors. My favorite was the eco-shopping game upstairs. Kids push around a shopping cart with a console that gives them a list of items to "scan". Then you check out and see if you got the correct items. It's very fun! The recycling game was fun too. We spent 3 hours here and I don't think we saw the entire place. We just missed the Lion Guard exhibit so that was a bummer. We paid $3/person for the 13 min Deepo 3D movie. It was cute. You can either buy tickets at the front desk, or there's a kiosk right next to the theater that takes credit card only. The movies are relatively short. We have the ASTC reciprocal discount so admission was free for 2 adults and 2 kids. They need to see your membership and ID cards.

Took our 3 year old here, fun place but 3 and under is too young for a lot of the exhibits. Place has a ton of great stuff to do, but a lot of it requires reading. It can also be pretty chaotic, but that should be obvious.

What a great spot to bring the littles for some fun and discovery. They get to learn stuff too! The special exhibits are particularly fun.
It is perfect for kids aged one to one hundred (well, I'm sure teenagers think it's lame, but they think everything is lame).
The price point is great too, especially if you get an annual membership.
