This place is the best if you are a kid or an adult! The kids have fun, you have fun, the whole family can have fun! You can even lose someone in here if you wanted to but there are so many friendly faces that you can find someone to help at every corner! It is a whole lot of fun for everyone!

You can really get your money's worth if you sign on for the annual pass because there is so many hands on things for young children to see, watch & do. Also your annual pass is also good for other exhibitions/museums too, plus, parking is free year round. Excellent place for the entire family.
This is a great place for kids . Lots of interactive and educational models to learn with and from. This is my second year chaperoning for my kids school and they've done a great job year after year
They've remodeled recently, so space is much nicer, as well as cafeteria. Parking is still a pain though, had to park in overflow lot across the street recently. Good place for kids to interact with science-based activities, and the live/hands-on workshops are the best - just wish they had more of them, and the "teachers" of them were more interactive with the kids.
One thing I didn't like, it was HOT inside like honestly turn on the AC! The rest was good my son enjoyed as much as he could being one and all we will be going other times since we have the year passes but do consider turning on the AC its Summer!
Excellent place to take kids to explore their world. They have many stuff that raise curiosity and interests as it is with the museum exibitions, the dinosour-exploration using tech and animations, the earthquake simulator, movie shows, etc. It's worth the price considering other entertainment options like Disneyland or Universal Studios which could become much more espensive and tiring. The place is located near MainPlace mall which has the Picture Entertainment theaters offering $2 per movie ticket
The kids had a good time. Very educational as always. Few little issues to mention: 1. A good amount of the TV screens or virtual reality devices did not work. They need an IT Tech monitoring this stuff. 2. A little pricey. But besides the above issues, we had a lot of fun still.
If you live locally, and have toddler through elementary aged children, annual membership is the way to go. The individual pass gets yourself and an unnamed guest in, and additional guests are only $10 each.
Excluding a few months throughout the year, there is a roving exhibit. A family favorite is the dinosaur exhibit that is virtually an outdoor setting where children can romp through and discover the internal workings of a dinosaur (and the output, aka poop). There is a They host events including Bubblefest, Pumpkin Launch, and Winter Wonderfest that are fun for all ages.
They recently added a demo kitchen where on weekends, family's can try replicating the demonstrated meal for a nominal fee. If you'd rather grab a quick bite to eat, there is an on-site cafe, but be warned that it's geared towards healthy eating and may not suit the needs of picky eaters. There are plenty of surrounding restaurants, so you're not without options.
A visit to Discovery Cube can easily be completed in 2 hours, but it's also effortles to stay longer, because some of the favored activities get busy. With an annual pass, this is a non-issue, considering when school's in session, the Cube is frequently empty. I foresee my family remaining members for years to come.
Excellent hands on displays that are often tailored to Orange County. I would have given 5 stars except that a few of the attractions were not working properly.
This is the place to get both you and your kids totally exhausting and voiceless afterward. It's probably fun for younger kids. My fourth grade doesn't enjoy much now like he used to be.
Half of the exhibits don't even work any more. This place used to be a lot more fun for my kids, but it just hasn't been maintained. It's a bit of a free for all in terms of supervision & managing lines for exhibits & rides. Every time I go it gets a little more trashy & broken. It should be free every day, because my kids have more fun at a public park.
Bought the individual membership. Supposed to come with free guest passes. Apparently, each time I come with a guest, I need to tell them first so they can verify and let the guest through. Parking is not included with the membership. Each entry to park is $6 in cash. Not very cost effective at all. Membership card does not include a photo so must show ID at the door for each entry. Kind of a hassle.
Really cool place for kids. Went on a day when a few schools must have taken a field trip so it was a bit busy and loud, but overall my grandkids had a blast
Came here due to having the Ninja Turtles exhibit, and I was let down. This place wasn't worth the price of admission, but this is coming from an adult. Kids would have a great time, but I didn't. The exhibits they do have are so-so. Probably never coming back again.
Headed to the DSC with 3 bundles of energy (one 5 years old and the two others 7) in hope of spending some exposure to learning AND wearing them out. We arrived at 11:00 am and at the 5:00 pm closing time they were still going strong. They had a blast. Very interactive, informative and diverse areas, from space exploration to dinosaurs. The grocery shopping was done twice! All in all, I think that I made a good choice. I recommend for 3-4 and up.
I'd give it 5 stars for value when you become a member BUT the food there is really pricey. Bring your own sack lunch and save yourself at least $20. Bean Sprouts sells organic food which is fine unless you're trying to feed 2 or more kids on a budget. OK back to the good... family membership is $100 per year or $125 for 2 years. That includes up to 4 children and 2 adults. We try to go at least 3 times a month during summer vacation (a real saviour to get the kids out if the house) and a few times during Christmas and Easter break.
- I've been taking my kids since there were 3 year olds, now that they are getting big they want to discover new things. - The place has been recently expanded, they have new exhibits every few months, if you have kids under 6, you can get a family year membership and in a couple of visits it will pay by itself. - They have a food court area with healthy food, we usually go early on Sats to avoid the crowds. - Nice place to spend the day!
Great place to take your younger 6 - 10 year old kids. Lots of interesting interactive things for them to do. They have added some new exhibits, but sadly there are some that have havent changed since I took my kids 15 years ago.
Cool for the first time going. We live 2 hours away so we wont be getting memberships. But I do like that they give you the option. Lots to do inside. Superhero theme was very cool! Very educational fun!
DJ pumping out beats while you gawk at fish, expensive beers and cocktails, good times all around. Happy 21, Claude. Glad to have been a part of your birthday bash. For Nightlife, 3 floors are open, and they each have awesome exhibits, but get there early because things like the aquatic petting zoo close way before 10pm. You get to see coral reefs, big aquarium tanks, albino alligators, swamp land creatures, earthquake preparedness simulations and games, and giant alligator gar. For every floor (the planetarium is unfortunately closed until mid October), there are differently themed cocktails ($10 a pop). It's a super fun way to spend Saturday for only $15 admittance. Food and drink, however, will cost you. I feel bad for the sound-sensitive creatures though :/
