We visited during August with our 2 children and dog. We didn't need to book, had a lovely table in an area for dogs which was perfect. Staff were fantastic and so was the food. Only reason for 4* was we had a long wait due to lunch time and Covid restrictions.

Great place for food, lots of choice I had ribs and brisket with sweet potato fries which was very good, interesting ordering on an ipad which you can then use for the internet. Highly recommend and I will be going again.

We came hoping for great food and we have been disappointed completely, the onion rings were so undercooked they were white, the chicken burger was so dry and the beef burger was run of the mill. hopefully this was a one off as it seems like it's the only place in alnwick worth going. dissalointed is an understatement when you pay to stay at sorty bottles for a premium rate.

Called in for a meal on the evening with my partner, was greeted and seated straight away, fantastic service and delicious food. Very well priced for the quality and quantity. Very nice atmosphere. highly recommend.

Staff were helpful. No cask ale so had keg.
Burgers were nice served without any salad not even a lettuce leaf.
Overall found the food average though plentiful.

It was delicious. Had an assortment of foods to choose from on the menu and the smoked meat was fantastic. The chunky chips are amazing I do recommend getting those. I also had a nice corn on the cob. Very decent sized meals.

Food was ok but one of the party was a bit disappointed by the mixed meat platter for two as they felt that it wasn't value for money. My only gripe was the menus and the table was extremely sticky due to split drinks and not cleaning them properly. My meal was excellent!

We didn't stay but visited the restaurant. Amazing food, great friendly service. Lots of veggie/vegan options! Throughly enjoyed the Lindisfarne iced tea, and even better that it was happy hour :D We will be sure to visit again next time we're in Alnwick. Decor is stunning too!

Not a great drinks selection; the usual IPAs but no stout or porter, staff don't really know what they have available. The meat was fine, though the brisket and ribs could have done with being more tender. The burnt ends are tasty!

- Place looks rustic, attractive and has an interesting story behind the name. Only been in the food area.
- American style, big portions/its a steakhouse surprisingly
- Staff friendly
- Good selection of sauces (baconnaise, etc)
- They were out of gigantic chicken nuggets so I got the peaky flat cap burger, was tasty, especially the cheese. Good coleslaw and fries, biggest onion rings I've seen in a restaurant

We had a beautiful stay, the room was gorgeous, comfortable and we loved the little touches. Staff were so welcoming, helpful and accommodating. We would love to visit again. Thank you for such a great get away from the city.

Beautiful food and nice staff. Takes a while to get severed so won't go if going in for a quick bite but definitely visit if you want to go somewhere for a relaxing meal. Also very reasonable price for such lovely food.

This was just the starter for 4 of us suggest that you book a table in advance to get a seat
Had some great meals between 4 of us perhaps some of the flavour combinations Mexican / American BBQ didn't quite work but all in all well worth going there

Doesn't look much from the outside but it has an extensive food menu with massive portion sizes and a great cocktail menu as well. On our table we ordered our food on an iPad and poured our own drinks from two beer taps which was a very fun experience.

Ok so a few things were sold out on the menu and I believe it wasn't the full menu due to high demand they reduced it the renovation is nice all open but I feel for me it has lost its coseyness from before but suppose it had to due to the covid, was drafty and dark the seat in the window in the new part for me, I had crispy potato skins (nice husband had dough balls dip was tasty) burger was ok eating out is a very personal thing this time was ok am hoping next time will be brilliant x

Friendly service and a good selection of vegetarian / vegan options, kids food as well as hearty meaty options. I would not recommend the self service tablets as they are a bit complicated for a big family order - make use of the table service instead! Our vegan guests thought the bhaji burger was a bit stodgy - but the staff responded well and took constructive criticism on board.

Quirky pub with a modern twist in that there's an iPad at most of the tables where you can order your food and drink, keeping a running tab for you. You still pay at the bar though. Good food but mostly a choice of burgers and hot dogs, although they do have a limited alternative choice of chilli, ravioli, and a large chicken nugget (!)

Nice food. Good portions. Staff were friendly, if not very knowledgeable about the drinks on tap. We were told there was no ale..then when we went to pay, found my husbands rare and favourite ale was on tap. It ruined the experience almost as much as the halloween decorations encroaching on the seating space making it uncomfortable. The ones upon entering were quite graphic/ intense too. Fittings in the facilities were well thought through and gave a novelty factor. Would go back for a meal...but when it wouldnt be decorated for anything.

Went in for a drink at 17.30, and told we could only drink in the bar area. We grabbed a table in the back room there and were promptly booted out by the waitress and told that the table was needed immediately, but in the time that we were sat in the only spare bit of bar no-one was seated. Another couple were also seated on an uncomfortably small perch.
Definitely not recommended if you just want a drink or a chance to decide if you might want to eat!
Booked out at 5.30, seriously?! If you aren't willing serve just drinks don't let people stay. Rubbish service.

Unfortunately we hadn't booked so arrived about 7to be told table free at 815, so we went a walk and came back. Nice lad serving although a bit slow taking our order despite us telling him we are ready (and starving). Food came fairly quickly and was very nice although 2in our party of 4 said onion rings cool. Interesting quirky place worth a visit but book. Interesting reason for name...

Poor service from front of house waitress.

Poor service from front of house waitress.

Rushed and unwelcoming vibe. Tiny bar area: happy to take your money for drinks then tell you empty seating is booked.

Bottom line: give this a miss and try one of the many other options in town.

Service a little slow but such a lovely place nice to spend an afternoon there. Good value too

Several years after it reopened the dirty bottles still stands out as a truly unusual Dinner venue in Alnwick. The range of food available is largely based on the smokehouse style meat dishes becoming popular with the hipster crowd, and hot dogs, but I must say they do it all very well. The drinks available don't disappoint either, especially if you end up with one of the tables with the taps springing out of them!

Really disappointing - All our parties meats were either COLD or luke warm and even the sweet potato fries were not properly cooked. Real shame as with very little effort it could have been a lovely meal. Hopefully Dirty Bottles doesn't give us dirty botties due to food poisoning.
