Excellent food. Extremely tasty. Great service. Would return and highly recommend.

Have been meaning to visit her for 2+ years now and can I say it did not disappoint! A real treat of a meal. Massive portions so couldn't squeeze in dessert, but the atmosphere and service here were impeccable. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returned to try the platters

Went here for just cocktails the first time. (Mon 24th Aug). Very nice. Booked in for a meal for 8 people a couple of days later and unfortunately 5 of the party who had the pulled pork were poorly the next day ! We did complain at the time about 1 of the pulled pork meals as it was cold. A replacement was brought, but didn't taste right, so not much of this was eaten. Overall service was good and Covid rules were well adhered to.

What a gem we've come across visiting Alnwick. Quirky on the inside, great selection of beer & ale on. Really good portion sizes and meals were filling. Top service from staff too, real shame to only be passing through on holiday but I'll make the effort if Im up this way again. A must visit.

What a turnaround from the previous dinge hell. This is one of the most professionally run, entertaining, best stocked steak house pubs in the North East. There's even a self service facility for the beer. The cocktail menu is brilliant as is the superb food.

Tasty food. Also, you might have to reserve the table in advance for dinner. For the hotel, it is worth every penny. However, the window is kinda thin. You can hear people talking outside every night along with the cars' horn in the morning.

The best burger in town!!! If you go here get the Bottles Burger, it's expensive but you get a mega load of food and I'm not the thinnest but boy did I wrestle it down. Totally worth it though, and one in a lifetime burger. Quoting Shia LaBeouf "Just Do It!!!"

The "Dorty Bottles" is one of Alnwick's iconic pubs, but suffered years of neglect, until being rescued by the new owners. They have revamped the interior, reverting to original features, yet adding modern touches like self-service beer-taps. I agree with the reviewer who said the food was excellent, so is the service even for those of us who prefer our pint pulled for us! Let's hope the pub is here to stay and not be lost like too many others of late.

Really lovely place to eat. Great menu and fabulous venue. Must be popular as over the years it gets bigger and bigger.

So cosy. Lively decor in the bar, resteraunt and rooms. Nice decking area on 1st floor outside. The best cocktails. Didn't have the one I wanted so looked it up and made me a whisky sour. Very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Will defo be back

Great food and atmosphere. There was a BBQ when we went, and the restaurant was very busy, with all tables reserved! They did manage to slot us in, just because someone cancelled last minute, so we were lucky.

Portions were good for the price, and I merrily waddled away following a feast on some of their special smokehouse meat and Broad range of potato sides- I haven't seen potato skins on a menu for a long, long time!

Great staff, too, with a really bouncy and friendly vibe.

Birthday party for 6 people. Very good system for ordering from your table with good service. Food was good but did not like it served on a tray with a paper napkin on the bottom as this tended to breakup during the meal. Prices not too bad and quiet for a Monday evening. Would return.

An interesting and different model for meals and drinks - worth a try if you are in the area. Good portions - but environment not especially clean or food well presented or perfectly flavoured. Give it a go for a casual meal - but not a place for anything special!

What a brilliant pub. The staff were all very friendly, you can order your own drinks and food from your table on a tablet and talking of food it was amazing. I had a platter of different meats and Lisa (vegi) had mushroom ravioli and it was all gorgeous.

Absolutely amazing. Food was excellent and staff very obliging.

Staff not very attentive and had to ask for things more than once. Restaurant was cold sitting in it. Portion sizes on the small side for the cost. Been previously and portions were much bigger. Chicken wings were way too spicy for the children's menu. And the food generally wasn't very hot when it was served. We won't be going back in a hurry!!

Bad food, bad hygiene, cheap American beer and full of kids. Avoid!

In addition, the gimmick of purchasing credit to use the self-serve beer vending machine sounds great at first...

However, if you have any credit left on the token at the end of the evening, this bar will NOT give a refund. Worse still the next time you visit to try to use up remaining credit, you'll find it has expired.

The fact that the limited selection of beers on the vending machine are vastly overpriced, together with the scam in keeping your unused credit (which most likely happens a lot) means the public are being exploited and giving the bar owner money for nothing here.

Also, have a look at the food hygiene rating for this bar on the food standards agency website. Not good.

Since posting the same review above on Trip Advisor, the owner replied to that review by lying and claiming that the credit does not expire.

I am very particular about my burger patties and this place delivers. Still not quite as good the US but comes in very close. Although I didn't try the rest of the menu it did seem that it was of very good quality and in good quantities. Excellent. Well worth eating here.

Very poor experience from start to finish.

We started by ordering 2 regular pepsi's, we we're given diet. No biggy, we told them and they changed them.

We then ordered a large nachos starter which was standard, but did not include salsa as advertised, just chopped tomato.

We then ordered a burger and a hot dog for our mains.

My burger patties were black and inedible. The sausage and bacon which were a part of the burger were similarly burnt and too dry to eat. The onion rings were far undercooked & the chips were rock hard and extremely greasy.

The hot dog was not a hot dog, or was a frankfurter, which is fine if advertised correctly, but for someone who doesn't like frankfurters, ordering a hot dog and receiving one is pretty disappointing. It wasn't also extremely over cooked, the chilli on the sausage for some reason tasted overwhelmingly of cinnamon & the chips and onion rings were the sameness as my own.

The aesthetic was nice, staff were friendly, but I have no idea how this place has so many great reviews.

Stayed the night in amazing room called the Bondgate.Had the one of the best burgers ever in the restaurant.

Service was very slow and the food was pretty bad. The meals seemed a bit slap dash, either under cooked or microwaved and luke warm. A bit disappointing as the venue is very nice inside so I had expected better. My food was presented in an industrial kitchen baking tray which some people might find trendy but it's not for me. #iwantaplate

Lovely, quirky pub steeped in history and food amazing.

Good food. Attentive staff and good alternative ideas. In fact, the only reproach was that there was too much on the meat plateaux. Mine was the prawn kebab, really enjoyed it.

Found this amazing place while working away and I'm so happy we did! The outside is an old school looking pub lots of character and go inside it's a mix of old and modern, it really works well. The food is unbelievable! The portions are huge! And the prices are very reasonable, the staff were very friendly and the whole experience was great! Highly recommended!

Slightly underwhelming drinks list, but a nice environment with good music. Wanted to order food but it turned out the meal wasn't available because we had the Mon-Sat menu on a Sunday. Staff handled it a bit weirdly acting as if it was somehow my fault the wrong menu was on the table & felt a bit unwelcome after that point after deciding against ordering something else

Absolutely loved the food, ambience and aesthetic of this restaurant. Excellent service too. I can highly recommend the peanut butter marinated chicken burger with a divine peanut butter slaw. Great value too.

Bizarre. Everything was confused, including the staff! It wasn't especially clean. All but one of the tables was reserved yet no one else came in in two hours. They have a nice idea but I have no idea how it's got top reviews for Alnwick (which is why we went). We ordered the duck dish each from the specials board and it was served with an undercooked stew around the plate which I think was supposed to serve as a gravy but undercooked mushrooms and onions is never nice. The duck was left around this casserole concoction. In the middle was dauphinois potatoes which were serviceable but not very unctuous and atop that was a salad which appeared to be the leftover garnishes from other people's plates. This was of course, famously served in a filo pastry case. Just when we thought the madness was over, out came the sides. We each were presented a board of bread and butter and some steamed vegetables. It was like a 6yo enthusiast was trying to win children's Masterchef with a box of strange ingredients akin to Ready, Steady, Cook!
The one star is for the laughs this 'dish' offered. We were wetting ourselves thinking we'd been dropped in the twilight zone! What a shame it was my husband's birthday.
I would like to assure any foreign visitors that this isn't British pub food!!

I cannot recommend this place enough, the rooms are big, comfortable and very clean.
The food is excellent, I pre ordered the tomahawk steak even though I had it rare I didnt need a steak knife to cut it.

The staff provided 5* customer service, they couldnt do enough for us and nice to see them always smiling.

Fantastic food, amazing beer and awesome cocktails. Was packed when we were there but they managed to find us a table to eat at after a short wait. Struggled to finish all my food as the portions are big!
