I've been a member of Direct Buy for 7 years and savings have always been good and great on some. Been in Member in Moncton, Mississauga, and now Ottawa. Staff in Ottawa is always pleasant to work with and very helpful. A big tank you to Tanya Wilson for helping me with my recent purchase of blinds. She is very knowledgeable in that department and her help is always appreciated.

Canadian Concierge Service is the BEST! After years of membership we were tentative about the closing of our area showroom, but I can honestly say we have had nothing but the best customer service as we navigated our way through a major home renovation these past few months. The website is much improved and the live chat has been very helpful at times as well. Thank you to all of the staff!

This place is a scam, a ripoff but has a ton of lawyers. My guarantee to anyone is that you will never save any money through direct buy. I was a member and even got a free extra year recently as part of some class action lawsuit settlement which was bologna. I ordered one thing from it and after waiting several week they come back and said it was out of stock and offered me something different which with a quick google search found 100 cheaper. I can't believe that anyone with any integrity would ever post a good review about this company which is the biggest scam out there.

We worked with Tanya Wilson to order blinds and we had a great experience. She was responsive and we were able to get exactly what we wanted. They are even able to ship them directly to us, which is fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, the price was great and the product (we've ordered blinds before) is very good quality.

The most recent service we have received has not been good. They used to be great to work with. They have closed several showrooms starting in 2018 and the concierge support was supposed to replace this. When we have used this service, they do little more than pull up their web page and send you this information, which is something I can do myself, so the gap was promised to be filled has not been with this service. I truly hope they return to their previous level of service, otherwise, I don t think it is worth the hassle to use their process to buy goods with the cost to pay the membership.

I ABSOLUTELY cannot explain in words how happy I was made today with dealing with Iftikhar Afzal from DirectBuy Toronto. We have been designing our entire kitchen with a hired designer and today as we went in to order the appliances (which the entire kitchen was designed around) we found out that DB pulled GE Monogram from their source of supply!!!

All I will say is that as an owner of my own business, Iftikhar went above and beyond and was able to call head office and temporarily get the GE series back so we could get our order in! He went above and beyond and wish all my employees were like him! Well done and we truly appreciate your help, I've never been so happy spending so much money before! :)

TOTAL SCAM!!! I would not rate DirectBuy with even an eighth of a star! I attended a "meeting" with the promise of $200.00 in dining and 2 airline tickets for two anywhere in the U.S. ~ I returned the "dinning cards" since you have to spend $50.00 to save $2.00 and never got the airline tickets since they claimed they had "just run out of them and would mail them to me" ~ They never mailed them to me! I think they were lying to me about the tickets anyway. Also when we joined on 10/17 and went home to investigate and found a lot of unhappy people out there who advised us not to join since products seem to take a very long delivery time and when they do arrive they are damaged thus causing more headaches as well as pricing is not at all what they are claiming. We were told by members to get out while we still could. According to the contract we had until 10/24 to cancel and so we cancelled the next day by calling our credit card company and putting the membership charge of $4,990.00 in dispute and then we sent via UPS required signature for proof of delivery our cancellation notice as outlined by their contract and according to the contract they were to refund our money within 10 business days of the cancellation notice which was delivered via UPS on 10/22 and for good measure I personally delivered a copy to them on 10/21 and made them sign for receipt so I would have proof they got it. Now I am still waiting for my refund and still nothing has happened therefore I filled a complaint to the BBB against DirectBuy, Inc. and I am still waiting to hear from them. Most likely DirectBuy will not respond and we will have to drag them to court and if that happens then I will sue for all my court cost, attorney and lost time from work. If you are considering doing business with this place ~ I would advise you to do your homework first!!! They are crooks and they steal your money. They want you to follow their contract but they don't follow their own contract. I am going to talk to an attorney this weekend to see what else can be done!

We've been using Direct Buy for over 15 years. There are things that don't always go smoothly but end up working out OK. Such is life. Nothing is perfect. HOWEVER, on our last order, that had some shipping issues, we had the pleasure of Barbara Campbell taking care of our issues. She is the DEFINITION of concierge. She was friendly, thoughtful & understanding of our frustration, and a pitbull for problem solving. A kind pitbull that is :). Call after call, update after update, she got it figured out. The order continued to go sideways and where other Staff were washing their hands of our concerns SHE WOULD NOT! She stuck it out and fought to help us get the delivery in time for the weekend (which happened to have special meaning to us). Barbara; thank you for truly caring and pushing to the end for us.

I have had a direct buy membership for almost 10 years now, my direct buy membership has been the best purchase I believe I have ever made! In fact I upgraded my membership 2 years ago to platinum with travel benefits. Since upgrading we have received 5 free vacations which has given us priceless memories with our children and their significant others! Every employee at direct buy and direct buy travel are amazing to work with, they are true experts!! Thank you DB, I would never give up our membership!!

This is my second time to become a member with Direct Buy. The first time (2009) was after a fire in my house. In 2009, there were store fronts and local vendors which was helpful for building materials; however, I saved a lot of money.

This time, I am building a new beach house and basically starting from scratch. If this was a custom home, I would have purchased all the flooring and lighting from Direct Buy as I have compared prices and Direct Buy is a lot cheaper than our builders cost.

I plan to purchase everything I can from Direct Buy. I have already purchased 5 mattresses, 1 headboard, 2 nightstands, adjustable bed frame, washer & dryer and refrigerator. Rick R. is my project coordinator. He is wonderful and experienced. He knows what vendors sell what and reduces the time I spend searching. He makes certain that my whole project runs smoothly and I enjoy Direct Buy experience. What excites me the most about being a Direct Buy member is showing my boyfriend all the money that I am saving him. I highly recommend Direct Buy to anyone who is updating their home or building a new home.

I ve been a member for 17 years. The company had changed owner ship a few times. While I miss the in-person option for shopping, (during COVID-19 that option would have been a non-option), I have found the Concierge Department helpful.

Babara assisted me with a purchase recently. She was friendly, patient and helpful.

I remain a DirectBuy customer. I hope the company will be able to survive the economic challenge all face with COVID-19.

My experience ordering products from Direct Buy through the Canada Concierge Shopping has been for the most part very good. I find it very helpful to be able to request pricing on products. The response time for replies is excellent. One of the Canadian Shopping Agents, Barbara Campbell, has helped me with many of my orders and is a pleasure to work with. She is both efficient and pleasant to talk to.

I had ordered a Samsung refrigerator, but due to our recent move, I wanted it delivered to the new area s warehouse. During the on-line purchase, I could not see where I could indicate the new warehouse in our area, so I called DB, the next day, after placing my order. Trust me, it was a time consuming, convoluted process that prompted assistance from Diego in Merrillville, IN (2020062863002271), then Amy. The order had to be cancelled & re-ordered. Credit card to be re-imbursed & purchase re-made. This process took approx a week via back & forth emails. You would think that having supplied DB with our new address previously, that the closest warehouse would be a no-brainer, but that s not the case. (Note: If you relocate, provide DB not only with your new address, but if there is a warehouse closer, provide them with this info too! Otherwise, your orders continue to go to the old warehouse.) As such, the assistance I received from both Diego & Amy was most polite, professional and five star top notch. Hence, the five stars. Direct Buy itself gets a **1/2 rating. Having a warehouse p/u point on their website, when changing one s address, would be extremely helpful. The convoluted process that ensued could have easily been avoided. High fives to Diego & Amy. Thank you kindly for your A-1 assistance!

Was a little concerned going in(Direct Buy,Ottawa,Ontario)because I was ordering blinds for 17 windows(some large)
The choice in brands,types and colors can be overwhelming and making a mistake can be a costly experience.
I saw Tanya Willson who guided me through the whole process. She was very knowledgeable,patient,didn t rush me and handled the whole process like a pro.The blinds arrived and installed perfectly!
In a place such as direct buy where you can t actually see the product having someone such as Tanya can make all the difference.
I plan to go back shortly to buy asst furniture for the new home.

This is going to be a long review but read until the end. I have been a member of DirectBuy for over 15 years now. So I have seen the business model go through various forms over the years. DirectBuy is what is states it is - it's direct buy services at wholesale cost. First I will comment on how it once was - I remember the DB offices where you could go in and look through books and speak to reps, order in office and then you had to go back within a certain amount of days to pick up your item when it arrived- you were responsible for all pickups within only a few days. Back then, credit cards could be used but we were charged a 2% fee for using them, which sucked. It was also more costly to join and there was no financing options that I know of. I've not used the current financing so I cannot comment on it but at least it's available.
On to how it is now - I MUCH prefer the online system and concierge shopping any day-especially being able to pay for shipping to my home, because that was not an option back in the day! Having the option to finance is great and not being charged to use my debit or credit card is great. My only current gripe is that I wish more items were online now.
The furniture I just ordered wasn't. In fact, only 2 of the slip-covered sofas carried by the company were online. But it could have been because slipcovered sofas have to be customized anyway. DB concierge services are the best! But I have learned that if they partner with that company, then they can get any product they make, just call concierge shopping with an item number for a quote. The problem that some people seem to gripe about is that they cannot differentiate that some items like furniture have a much higher markup than things like appliances and electronics, so that is where some feel it's not worth the money. Furniture is around 40-60% markup depending on the quality you choose, appliances/electronics are 15-25% if I remember correctly... You need to do your due diligence in shopping for items prior to just purchasing them on DB. See if you can purchase the item cheaper at a retail store first. Sometimes a stores promo can also help with pricing. But I have noticed that we, DB usually gets the vendors promos at the same times a store receives them as well. And then I am noticing that people get pissed that they add handling and shipping onto the cost. Do people not think that a brick and mortar store doesn't pay for those same things? They may not pay a handling fee in some situations but ordering items for a store via shipping is not free for a vendor either. I have purchased endless items over the years while building a home, but most recently I purchased more furniture that would have cost me almost twice the amount at each local store I checked with.
I have enjoyed using DirectBuy over the years. I use it for some items, don't for others. But one thing is for sure, the business model has improved over the years and concierge shopping is a great addition. Gretchen W and Jenifer B have been wonderful in my furniture shopping experience.

I am doing a complete remodel of my downstairs, have saved a very substantial amount on appliances, tile, flooring, plumbing fixtures, furniture and decor. I have been a Direct Buy member for about 10 years. The savings on the kitchen appliances alone has paid for my membership. I was very disappointed when the local showroom closed, but with the improvements to the website and the fantastic response time from the Concierge people I very satisfied I kept my membership in force.

Called up asked for fabric samples again and operator said i,m sorry we will send out correct samples. 2 weeks later i still don't have samples so i emailed again and now they say there is a misunderstanding and need to call up because no fabric samples have been ordered. Awful experience! Not worth my time anymore

If not for her outstanding customer service I would consider canceling my membership of 12 years.
It's a shame the people who deal with the suppliers can't provide the same quality of service.
Getting great pricing is great but only if the product is available in a reasonable amount of time.
I will now pay RETAIL for the item I want because waiting in excess of 4 months for anything is just plain INSANITY.
Again thank Amy for helping keep me as a member and not posting negative things about Direct Buy.

The information was promptly provided, especially for the pricing of the model I was looking for and even got suggestions for closest alternatives. In one instance Barbara Campbell was very helpful in addressing a mistake made by the IT department towards crediting into my account.
