I'm currently a member in Bloomington, MN but I found out a few weeks ago that they are out of business at the Bloomington location. I tried calling the corporate headquarters a few times and was on hold for over 15 minutes each time until I just left them a message to please return my call so I can determine if the entire company is out of business or just the Bloomington, MN location. I'm not sure what the status of this company is at this point. Trying to learn more but nobody is getting back to us.
Customer service is excellent especially Marcia Gardner who went above and beyond to resolve issues. I find prices are really not great and entire product lines are not always available.

Overall my wife and I are disappointed with direct buy. Their followup is poor and their customer service is poor. Its been over 19 weeks and counting for an order. They went bankrupt once and with the service they are offering they are on their way again. When will they learn that to retain customers you need to provide exceptional service not piss poor service.
I honestly miss DBs showrooms, website and locations from years ago. I struggle with making purchases as it s not so convenient now. I continue to make some purchases although I could have made many more. The employees are great to deal with, helping with everything I need. The staff in Calgary are awesome. Also I just did a blind order with Tanya Willson . Which went well and we are just awaiting arrival.
Customer Service representative was responsive and answered my question promptly, but unfortunately it feels like Direct Buy is shrinking it services. Something that was previously offered before, is no longer offered. Disappointing.

Full disclosure: I am an employee. However, I am also a customer. First of all, DirectBuy has THE most engaged, on-shore customer service representatives of any company I've ever shopped with. That is a huge plus. The next thing is, of course, the most amazing prices. For furniture, appliances, and household goods it's always 40-60% cheaper than Amazon's lowest price. DirectBuy is a HUGE bargain. The only downside is due to having so many vendors and items drop-shipped from vendors, the shipping is sometimes slower or faster; depends on the vendor. However, I find that the slightly less consistent shipping timelines is far far outweighed by the lower prices and best of breed customer suppert.
I work here: Great Place to work, especially if you like to eat... The Member Care department has tons of Food Days as well as the rest of the building. Great place for advancement; Membership is great as well, I have used it a few times and enjoyed the amazing savings. The people here are great to work with too, Always striving to make each others day go well and to give the best customer service to our Members.
We had bought some product ,several years ago and they were able to follow up about. They did a thorough search. In the end we were unable to find the same thing, but it is appreciated that they took the effort to search.
Great service, Amy Li went above and beyond to accommodate us as we renovated our home and nursery. We had numerous quotes and the prices were quite a bit better than retail even after delivery and any fees.

I am very happy with the price of the product and the service of the employee. But I'm disappointed it is taken 36 hours to get a response from the concierge service. Because of this long time it has cost me $50 more for my product as the sale has not ended.

This will be the second time I've purchased with directbuy. The first time was ok. This time has been horrible. No updates on delivery and after 6 weeks of waiting the shipping coordinator indicated the item may be lost. Hard to tell how long I would have waited if I had not reached out. The member services people have been as helpful as they could be. The shipping coordinator not so good. I've been asking for a refund for weeks now and getting no where since they operate in circles. When my frustration fades, maybe I'll purchase with them again. If it goes similar to this experience, I'll discontinue my membership.

The least ethical company i have ever dealt with. The sales team literally lied to me about the membership to trick me into buying it, and ever since, the company only repeats their legal obligation to provide a refund ended as of 3 days after the date that the membership was purchased.
They claim to have a good selection of products that are convenient and less expensive, but that is just false. I can rarely find what i want from Direct Buy...when i can, it's ALWAYS cheaper to buy at a retailer or online. When i point this out to Direct Buy, they adjust down the product cost just enough to claim that it's cheaper through DB...but then it's still infinitely more hassle, takes longer to ship, shipping anything (even small things) costs an arm and a leg, and you're on your own if you have a warranty problem.
Long story short, worst money i ever spent. Worst company i've ever done business with.
