What an awful experience there!! I don't recommend anyone to take classes or even work at this terrible place. The management is very shady and unprofessional. I feel bad for the teachers there...

I recently started working at Dictyon and understand that you cannot please everyone, but these reviews are not very helpful or fair. Alas, it's usually the unhappy ones that bother to write a review. From what I have seen and also posted myself when recruiting instructors, each and every recruitment ad specifies that it is a CONTRACT, so I am not sure why "Frenchie" thinks that this fact was hidden from them - I am going to guess there was a misunderstanding, the root of all problems.
Now, it is a small language school, which has both its pluses and minuses, like any workplace. The upside is that it has a real family-like atmosphere, with a small number of teachers and students, and a small admin team. The downside, of course, is that with a small admin team, when one person is out, it is felt by the rest, but everyone works their butts off to cater to both the students and instructors, to the degree possible. Do mistakes happen? I'm sure they do, just as they do in any workplace, but I'm also sure that if they do, everyone who works there tries their best to resolve them in a manner that is both within the terms of the contract with the client and also fair to the rest of the parties involved.
I just wanted to write this for the record since I have only been there since mid-November and am not in too deep to be subjective. That is the only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5, to make people understand that I'm not posting for the sake of raising the star status...
Friendly and personable staff that promotes a very conducive and comfortable learning environment for students learning a new language. The staff members all have expertise in their respective languages, with all of them being native speakers. This is a women-owned business based out of Arlington, VA. I would highly recommend this company not only to those who are in need of language skills or cultural awareness training, but also to those that require basic or technical translation or interpretation services because the high-quality of their work speaks for itself!
