What happened?
Traded in my camry hybrid Saturday for a Rav4 on Saturday with the promise of a car wash and a full tank of gas. The sales associate asked me to return another day to wash it and fill it up due to a long line. I called a day before and scheduled a time to come. Today when I arrived on my lunch break at the time I stated i would yesterday there was six cars in front of me. Because of the time issue , I said I would just take the gas and be fine. When I got in my car it was only half full. I immediately went back in and told my salesman. He then stated they changed the policy without him knowing to only giving 5 gallons and I could talk with a manager. When I talked with the first manager he said the same thing even though he saw my promise of a gas fill up. He then referred me to the manager who was in charge of my deal. This man apologized and personally drove my car to fill it up himself . . .only to get turned down too. He also was uninformed of the policy change . . . A sales manager. . .not his fault but wow. Even a shady dealer would fill up the tank of a vehicle before it drove off the lot. Extremely diappointed that a reputable dealership who I recommended to people before has changed for the worse. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone.

DON T TRUST THESE CROOKS AND SNAKES!!!!!!! I just took my car in for a simple repair. I wanted my cars sun-visor replaced which they did, however, when I got my car back the front bumper was falling off and a piece of my roofing was torn off as well.
I literally got my car back in WORSE shape than when I took it in. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR INTO THEIR GARAGE, Whether they butcher your car behind your back on purpose or not, you will end up having to go back to them for more work.

As I pulled up to the dealership, he introduced himself and asked me what I was interested in.
I told him I was looking for a used Toyota Corolla LE as my older one had run its course.
He directed me straight to the used car line up and showed me some vehicles.
One I was interested in was already being viewed by another customer but no worries he found me another one.
We took it out for a test drive on Montana Street and on I-10. All the while he explained to me all the working features the car had, and showed me how to use them.
My girlfriend and I were impressed with his professionalism and patience. He wasn t pushy at any point. Allowed me to think and talk things over with my girlfriend and I purchased the car.
He explained to us all the finance procedures and policies.
I want to thank POE Toyota for having him as a valued employee in the Sales Department.

With that said here is a full account of what happened.

To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Matthew Gomez and on the morning of January 9, 2013, I took my vehicle to The Dick Poe service department for the Mini-30, 000 service package (See invoice attached). Unsurprisingly, I received a phone call from the service writer informing me of several concerns the technician found that exceeded the service package I had already authorized. I approved of a transmission flush but declined the rest due to my budget constraints, the demeanor of your service writer, and given the service history of my vehicle I was prompted with great suspicion about possible fraudulent concerns and behavior by your employees.
Above all else, understand that I m a graduate student living off of a confined budget of loans and grants. Also understand that when a customer drops off their vehicle with automotive technicians directly associated with the dealership, there should be no reason that the service he or she is receiving is up to par with manufacture standards and performed to a degree of execution that there will be no doubt about the service and products they are receiving with their vehicle. And yet what took place that morning needs to be brought to your attention.
Attached is the list of concerns I was given that allegedly needed to be addressed and the estimated costs per service. Instinctively 3 of the 7 were enough to prompt suspicion and further investigation. The 3 concerns were:
1. A Water Pump Leak
2. The timing cover-crank seal was leaking
3. And replacing a bulb for $48.00.
Replacing the bulb for $48.00 is ridiculous and for lack of a better word a rip-off , given that a pack of bulbs costing $7.99 and knowing the fundamental workings of a Phillips-head screwdriver addressed the concern. The leaks however are a bigger concern because:
After having them investigated by 3 separate automotive centers with one being a scion dealership,
After two road-trips between El Paso & San Antonio,
And four months later,
The two leaks were and have yet to be found, and would have cost me a little over an estimated $1,000. To have been so wrong over such costly repairs, on top of Mr. Villalobos s life-or-death demeanor of fixing this problem, and the inflated costs of fixing a simple light bulb has created an enormous doubt and simultaneously has me calling into question the dealership s credibility and integrity. Such Questions are:
Is this a con-job?
Did I even get the service I requested and paid $405.39 for completed?
Am I the first person to bring this to your attention?
And if I m not the first person to bring this to your attention why do these employees still have a job?
Has Dick Poe Scion been complicit & enabling of such an unethical practice?
But if Dick Poe Service center isn t swindling the innocent how could certified technicians directly employed by the dealership get so much wrong given how costly these repairs can be in the end?
You can rest assure that your superiors and any outlet offering me to review my experience will receive either this letter or a detailed explanation of what happened that day.
UPDATE PT.2- I recently bought a Tacoma and saved upwards of $5,000 by doing homework and purchasing my vehicle in San Antonio. Not only will Dick Poe Toyota not comedown on their prices, but also mention they don t have to. Now that I have done the footwork in buying another Toyota vehicle, and dealing with their salesman when my father and I were buying vehicles, I like to believe I ve made a case that no one needs to visit Dick Poe Toyota for service and sales.
The staff members in the service department were polite but the time estimate given was seriously wrong. We were told over the phone that our airbag recall would take an hour when we scheduled our appointment. When we brought the car in, they said it would be two hours. After two hours, we hadn't received a call and were unable to get through to our representative in the service department after calling for 20 minutes. We returned to the dealership and were told it would be another hour. An hour and a half later, we received a call that the car was done. We drove back to the dealership and waited more than 20 minutes for our car to actually be done. All in all, it took 4 and a half hours for the airbag to be replaced. Not a great experience at all!
The entire team was excellent! Gus handled the purchase of our new vehicle while Tony Aguilar the used car manager handled our trade-in questions with great professionalism and polish. We always felt cared for and valued right down to reviewing documents with Irvin Vasquez the finance manager. This dealership offers a great selection and the facilities are upscale.
Excellent customer service. From the service department to the cashiers...even the courtesy shuttle guy was nice.
Very rude staff. Some lady wanted to charge me $50 to cancel my GAP insurance which I didn't need in the first place when I bought my vehicle, also asked them to remove the dickpoe sticker and they refused. I never allow any dickpoe add to be placed on my vehicle on the first place.

Service department is no good. Kept losing me in the system and when I came to pick my vehicle up they couldn't find it. I saw it parked right in the front but they had someone else's information attached my car.
The whole staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly and I'm glad to have found my new dealer service center in Texas.

We ve never really had a good experience at a car dealership but this place is different. We were treated with respect, not pressured and the manager came by to say hello and thank us for coming in. We didn t buy but when we do we ll be going back here. The staff here was all professional and it was a beautiful dealership. They were willing to work with us on the price but we weren t yet ready to buy. At least they deserve a nice review for the treatment we got here. You will be getting our business when we get closer to buying and thank you!

So I've not had my vehicle serviced here but I've called a few times to ask for quotes and questions about my car.
I plan on going here next time I need services, and probably gonna trade in my current car for a new one.

Went in for an oil change and noticed no was practicing social distancing, no mask were being wore, and no cleaning of the chairs after people left. I left after I noticed this.
Here we go again. Worst service in town. I've bought 4 vehicles from Dick Poe over the years. Every time I take vehicles in for scheduled maintenance, same Ole song and dance with this unprofessional staff. I have a prepaid program with dick poe and every time they are trying to charge me. The last time it was a computer upgrade, they lost there files.
The latest is I took my truck for service and waited 15 minutes for anyone to come out and greet me. Walked in and ask for a manager, Albert came out and did not have much to say as usual. Very disappointing. Service has gone down the drain.. In addition, any time you try and call any management they never return calls.
******Update.***** GM calls my phone and says he will not service my vehicle any longer and to pick it up. I go in to pick vehicle up and ask to speak to him. Some old guy trying to act like some sort of tough guy.. towards the end of his senseless rant about not servicing my vehicle any longer. He tells me do you know who I am? I said yeah your the GM here. He says no do you really know who I am? Who I know? LOL what a joke.. It appears he was trying to threaten me. What kind of GM is that? Stay away from this place. Spend your money else where.

To get to the point If your looking for a great deal chris wadsworth is the salesperson to talk to. As soon as i pulled up he approached and asked what i was looking for and my budget which was a little hard to work with but I was not going to drive a car off the lot if it was overpriced! He was able to find a new car 2020 with no miles for a great deal and fit perfectly with my budget. Best decision ever. Go talk with chris wadsworth!!
