Diamondhead Beach Resort and Spa Reviews

Absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to stay here. We only came here for dinner with friends who stayed at the resort.

Went to Cabanas grill and bar. TERRIBLE.
Food was expensive and not good at all. Waitress was poor as well, did not even come back to check on food...didn't refill drinks. Disappointed

One of the best views I have ever seen! My family stayed on our way to the keys and ended up staying here additional nights, we never made it to the Florida Keys! The Cabana bar has amazing food, try the Mongolian shrimp for sure.

We stayed here for five days over the Memorial day weekend and this resort was well below my expectations. Without boring you with a lot of words, I will list the good, bad and my final comments.

Good:
1) Room had a kitchenette and featured a set of four dishes and eating utensil
2) Bellman was knowledgeable and courteous
3) Housekeeping is good, you just have to ensure you get service if they pass by your room because you posted the "do not disturb" surfboard on your room door.
4) Room keys are an electronic wristband which is waterproof and are great as you never lose/misplace them.
5) Screened balcony was nice.
6) Trolley pick up and drop off is right in front of the resort.

Bad:
1) Resort pictures show a bathtub, but they are in the process of remodeling and installing only showers. A disappointment for my wife that likes a tub.
2) Bathroom - only one 24 inch towel bar to hang towels. No hooks for clothes, bathmat or anything else. If you stay here, I suggest you bring a six pack of Command Hooks that you can install upon your arrival and remove before you leave.
3) Bathroom - the new showers are unique with the water control knob on the opposite (back) wall from the shower head which means you need to almost step out of the water stream to adjust the water temp.
4) Bathroom - The new showers do not come with doors or curtains so the water splashes all over the floor in front of toilet. A wet floor after every shower.
5) Rooms carpet - There is no carpet in the rooms, so when someone moves a chair or bumps the coffee table, it scrapes on the floor. You can hear this noise from rooms above and below you as well as next door. If you are a light sleeper, you will hear this all throughout the night.
6) Room access - Most rooms are accessed via a concrete hallway. While easy to keep clean, it quickly became an echo chamber for loud cars and motorcycles on the roadway. Children really enjoyed the echo chamber effect with yelling and hollering well into the night.
7) The heaviest sliding glass door (leading to the balcony) that I have ever encountered. No handle on the outside of the door and as a result you may break a fingernail or two trying to open it to get back into your room.
8) Spa - Tried to schedule a spa treatment and found that they couldn't fit my wife in, though she agreed to two dates and times. They seemed very unorganized. Resorted to going to the day spa across the street and glad we did. Well worth it (and cheaper).

Overall - the resort is just OK at best and not worth the price I paid of almost $250 a night (plus $15 a night resort fee). I found that if you aren't a "club" member, you aren't afforded the same courtesies. Thoroughly underwhelmed me and did NOT meet my expectations. If you have an option, I highly suggest you stay somewhere else. Would I stay here again?...Absolutely not !

What a fantastic place to stay. My wife and I decided to take a little 4 day getaway, and we booked a room at Diamondhead. We had never stayed here before, but the reviews were very good so we decided to give it a shot. We are so glad we did. What a great place, the room was fantastic, the view was awesome, and the beach side lounge, and the restaurant were top notch. We enjoyed ourselves so much, and everyone working there was very polite and helpful too. Keep up the great work, and we will not wait 10 years again to come to Florida, and stay at the Diamondhead.

Waited at the ground level bar for over 10 minutes with total disregard from the bartender. I left.

Brilliant little tiki bar in the sand, friendly service and the ocean so close.

Loved the balcony. Our view was excellent. Nice and quiet. Great for couples and family. Chloes fine dining was excellent! Not very many choices for this type of dining on the island. Jon the waiter was great!!! Very pleasant and attentive to our needs. Derek and Dave were always helpful with taxis and suggestions. The bartender in Chloes bar was super friendly. Made us feel welcome. Disappointed that our room was not serviced 2 out of the 8 days we were there. But enjoyed our stay. Beach was very clean and safe.

Just stopped by to see some friends who were staying here. Seems to be a very nice place to stay. The beach area is perfect. The bar is a happening place, full bar, great drink selection. Great crowd. Clean, close by, staff is awesome. Close to other happening places. Good vacation spot.

Took a spontaneous trip and showed up at 4pm. Started off a little rocky had to commit to a room with a "bad view" (said the staff) we couldn't look at because it wasn't clean. We took a chance and reserved it anyway.

From then on everything else was great, staff and location and services were all exceptional.

We would stay there again.

Totally Awesome!!!!! In the past I usually would stay at the Pink
Shell; but thought I would give this place a try. Totally exceeded my expectations-rooms were great, staff super friendly and willing to go above and beyond. Great Location. Walking distance to downtown and other places. I will definately be staying again! 5/5

This place was bad. I never give a bad review but the room was bad...paint coming off the walls all out dated and they said the gave us a up grade. I hate to see what the other room looked like. And when I complained to the front dest they said they would refund half my money but scents I went through a travel agency there was nothing they could do. What BS . Now I have to say the staff was very good. motel 6 at least will leave a light on and that place is a dump.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and we are definitely satisfied with our stay. We had a beautiful ocean view, CLEAN ROOM, and the hotel has a generally friendly staff. When we checked in, we were automatically upgraded to a nicer room (deluxe kitchenette suite or something like that) not quite sure of the reason. I believe the hotel made a mistake and the room we booked online was not available. Either way, it worked out great for us because they made it right without any hesitation. Upon entering our room, it was beyond hot & humid. We tried adjusting the air conditioning and nothing changed. I immediately called the front desk to let them know and maintenance was sent within 15 minutes. We really appreciated the sense of urgency and service from the staff. Thankfully it only took 15-20 minutes to fix, and by mid-evening it was nice and cool in our room. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND paying the extra $ for the deluxe suite (we will definitely book it in the future and not get the standard room) because we had all the dishes & supplies we needed. It was nice to not only save money by cooking in the room, but making the most of our stay since we remained on location most of the time. The only thing I would change is the bed. It isn t very comfortable, however, most hotel beds aren t comfortable so that is why I still gave it a 5 star review. Also, it was very nice having laundry access. The only complaint I have with it is that even though we didn t have sand on any of our clothes, our clothes still came out of the washer with sand all over them. Given the nature of the location & appeal for the hotel, it should be expected. I was just surprised there was THAT much sand that got on our clothes, that s all. We shook them out and most of it came off. Our stay was very pleasant overall. We enjoyed it so much, that I actually called the front desk to extend our stay an additional night. We were told originally that the hotel was completely booked for the extra night we wanted, but that one room on the lower level was empty. It wasn t the same type of room we were in already, which was a bummer, but it was worth being at this location. Later on, Derek (sorry if I spelled it incorrectly!) from reservations called and said they were able to move things around and that we could stay in our same room. We were so happy, so if you end up reading this, thank you very much! I m not much of a review person, but I truly believe this hotel deserves it. That is why I wanted to give a thorough review and describe our experience. We were very pleased with our stay, and will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you very much for a great time!

Beautiful resort on gorgeous Ft Myers Beach. Walk to shops & restaurants. Bus to grocery store. No need to rent car

Great pool. Great service. Cabanas has awesome drinks-try the pool party!

Great room, great beach, great amenities. Good selection of food around area. Traffic on and off island can be a pain (during Christmas holiday), but if you plan for it, no worries.

We had an excellent stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ate at both restaurants. The food was very good. We plan on staying again.

We had a great stay at the DiamondHead Beach Resort. The staff was exceptional and always had smiles on their faces. Our room was very nice with a beautiful view of the ocean. I would suggest this resort to anyone. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. We did not need our car unless going into downtown Ft Myers.

I've never stayed here, only attended business conferences, but for that purpose it has been a great place. They're very accommodating and the facilities are satisfactory. And you can't beat the location, right on the beach front.

Great location, beautiful beaches and pool, great view, lots of amenities. The only issue I had was how little sound proofing went into each room. The hallways outside echo really loudly and could be an issue if you're a light sleeper.

Staff was friendly, room was clean, bed was comfortable. the outside restaurant did not do a good job with the social distancing in regard to table and chair placement

Stayed here for four nights for business. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The views are magnificent! They offer beach chairs and umbrellas at the beach. The pool is amazing with two hot tubs. Room service does not come to room daily due to covid so if you need any items or services you have to call down to the desk. They do provide 6 beach towels in the room for the pool and beach, which we found to be helpful. Our room was equipped with everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Don't waste your time or money staying here. It is run down, and not well taken care of. Hotel mgmnt is deceitful and not interesting in rectifying any problems. Not a good value for the steep price paid. A Premium suite is far from such. Buyer Beware ! Would never stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is a lovely beachfront place that has a nice pool and a decent sized bar area. The rooms all have a living room and kitchenette. Walking distance to restaurants and stores.

Spent 9 days here. Best vacation ever. Staff is extremely friendly, and happy to help with anything they can. L and Francis deserve a raise. Very helpful!!

We did a jet ski dolphin tour with Holiday Water Sports. They are located just behind DiamondHead. Our guide Joe was outstanding, very knowledgeable on the local waterways, dolphin behavior, and funny. The wave runners were fast and reliable! Seen tons of dolphins and wildlife!

I love this cozy place. They have us a beach front view. We were very happy.

The place is falling apart and the beach smells like a.. Don't waste your time

The room on the second floor was very spacious. There was a nice outdoor restaurant (burgers, fish, nachos, cuban sandwich type food) and private pool/ two hot tubs where they serve directly. Out back, it leads right onto the beautiful beach with lots of sea life. Jet ski rentals and parasailing rentals were just steps away. A lot of people leave after 5pm.
Good guest services. Very comfortable and relaxing. No noise at night. Great night sleep, but places to party close by. The pier near by offers a good place to grab a slice of pizza and some ice cream along with other attractions. Walking the beach doesn't get much better.

Best deep tissue massage!! They do great gel nails too.

Loved every minute of staying here. The rooms were well kept and updated. The pool was very nice and relaxing. The beach was nice and clean. The cabana bar and restaurant was perfect. The new restaurant coste was amazing!

We spent 4 nights here , during spring break. We were not subjected to the spring breakers , they really were not at this hotel, but a few hotels down. Beach staff is fabulous, theu have water activites right there, jet ski , parasailing, banana boat rides, ect. spent a couple of days on the beach, sand was sugar soft, the only bad thing was the seaweed in the water, it was gross to have to wade through to get into the warm ocean. We also saw a couple of red sox games at JetBlue park which is amazing ! The room service was fantastic, as was the dining in the bar and the restaurant. We didnt want to leave !
