Was loud when we got there. There was construction going on all week while we stayed there but the hotel did offer the guests free beach chairs which was really nice of them. Will be looking forward to staying here next summer as the food was wonderful and so were the employees. There are so many things to do like go fishing or go boating or much more!!! I do recommend this place to anyone looking to relax for a week or two.

I've been coming here the last week of the year for over 10 years. The hotel is really nice and lives up to it's prime location. There's a restuarant on the 2nd floor with an amazing view of the ocean. There is a decent sizes pool with a beach side bar and restuarant as well. There is no spa located here anymore. The hotel has improved over the years tremendously but still has some ways to go. They need to start with the wifi. They've been on a plan to put wifi in every room, which they've accomplished, but there has been no absolutely no improvement in perfomance. You have a difficult time even getting the basic web services to work. Otherwise, this is a great place to stay and I will continue to come back.

Learn from my mistake, DO NOT BUY A TIMESHARE HERE! If you choose not to stay and let them rent your week for you they take an unheard of 40% cut and don't pay you for 4 months. Total BS. Don't be fooled by the sales pitch.

Stayed here for YEARS! Every year was great except for the year following selling rooms as timeshares. That year was an absolute terrible crowd of people saying there. Hope it's never like that again. Love this resort.

Beautiful sugary sand beach and nice pool. We came to escape the cool foggy weather of Atlanta. I was pleasantly surprised by the beach right out the back door of the resort. We were told that we got the very last room available. If our room is what they save for last then I'm sure no one has a real complaint because it was nice and very clean. I especially appreciated the fully stocked kitchenette complete with plates, tableware, microwave and frig. The balcony although on the 2nd floor still provided a great view. Now I must comment on the bellman and parking attendant who were absolute gems when it came to pointing me to the local spots. No chain places for me when on vacay. I would stay again just to chop it up with them. Great for families and couples.

We waited a long time to be seated cause no one around went back to the front desk to ask if they were open since no one was dinning, finally got seated ordered and was told oh were out of alot of stuff, like really we had been seated for 15 minutes and then tell us u are out of stuff. I was hoping it would get better, no peper jelly with bread was told since people dont like it we dont serve it unless u ask, 2nd thing the appetizer was cold in the middle and then dinner came my husband asked for the sauce to be on the side guess what it was not, and was told we could scrape it off and then we just asked for a box to leave also never came to check on us we had to ask another server for boxes and more water as we had wine and such but to no avail of our server and then the bill was wrong, i guess when you come with a coupon thats how u get treated since 20% was added on bill as service fee. I work in a different hotel and always send people here but after that experience i will never recommend again

Just got back from Diamond Head Beach Resort - Fort Meyers Beach. We were there 18 years ago for our 10th Anniversary, and decided to come back for our 28th. I have to say, the resort had not changed too much despite the fact that they have renovated recently. The rooms were still nice, roomy and the beds were comfortable. The view's are awesome with a screened in balcony so you can keep your doors open at night, with no fear of bugs. My only complaints about the rooms would be the lack of mirror's (only one in the bathroom) and no makeup mirror, other then that we were quite pleased with the room. However, we were quite shocked that you have to rent your beach chairs, at $30.00 plus per day, per coup USD..for the amount that we paid to stay at this "resort" I would have thought they could at least provide people with chairs on the beach. The beach bar was good food, great drinks, but the service was a little slow at the bar. Other then that it was a good stay, not sure if we will be back, just because of the cost of sitting on the beach. I would recommend that if you are staying here, to bring your own beach chairs and umbrella

Staying here now. I wasn't told this place was under construction when booking. I called the hotel directly to book. Woke up this morning with sounds of drilling and sawing. Look out my balcony and there is someone there with a tablesaw. Called front desk and she told me she would check it out. Two hours later it is still going on. She never called me back. I came here to relax and have some peace and quiet. Not happening!! Not happy!!

Based on the good reviews we took a chance on the ...

Based on the good reviews we took a chance on the DiamondHead. We had our son and his friend with us - both 17 yrs. From the beginning we realized it wasn't what we expected. My list of pros & cons is below. The main issue was realized upon check out on Feb 27th, 2020 after we left the hotel and went to our next destination on Sanibel. I quickly realized that I'd left my engagement ring, cosmetic jewelry (which was in a box) and face lotion tucked in the back of the top left bathroom vanity drawer. I immediately called the hotel and someone said they'd look into it. They called back Friday and said that housekeeping hadn't "found" it. This left us very upset. My husband decided to go back to the hotel to fill out an incident report and to get with the hotel's insurance. I truly believed that the ring & other items would be placed with the management and we'd get an immediate call, but that didn't happen. It's now been 6 days since they went missing and we're working with the management to find them. Heather has been very supportive. I don't want to file with the police or go through insurance filings, but that may have to happen. I'd like to know if anyone else might have had a similar experience?

I would have given this hotel a 1 rating but because the staff was very nice, I gave them extra point. However the cons outweigh the pluses for our family.

Pros:
- Staff was friendly from check in to check out and calls to housekeeping were promptly responded to.
- Close to the Times Square with lots of food choices. Walking or biking to places is the only way to get around, so you stay fit. *See traffic issues under Cons below.
- Hotel "wrist bands" got us into our rooms and allowed us use of facilities.
- Cell phone service/wifi was good.
- Large Screened Balcony overlooked the pool with a little bit of ocean view, but that was a great room asset!

Cons:
- Traffic! I've never seen this kind of bottleneck on vacation. The locals all say it's normal to wait 2 hrs to get out? Just for that I wouldn't stay near Fort Myers Beach this time of year. My husband and I went to Publix (sound on Estaro about 1.5 miles). It took us almost 2 hrs to get back! This needs to change.
- All items were ala carte... chairs were $15/day per person; umbrellas were additional for 2 people.
- Bar restaurant food wasn't that great (fried foods were better than the grilled); drinks were good but quite expensive - except at happy hours.
- Pool chairs were always filled - very tight quarters; the 1 pool was quite small for the hotel and was filled body to body most of the time except for after dark and very early am; same with the 2 small hot tubs; these hot tubs were right out in the middle of the pool area, not isolated in a corner area like most hotels.
- Happy hour crowd - we like a couple drinks during vacation, but the atmosphere at this hotel was a "spring break like crowd of over 55's". Happy hours are promoted at most hotels from 2-6 weekdays so many take advantage of hopping around. Not that the people weren't nice, all were very friendly, but most were very tipsy by 5pm. Our boys found this humorous, but it got old quickly for us since that wasn't our main reason for being on vacation.
- The weather wasn't cooperating and hotel had very little to offer. The strong winds caused issues with getting out on any craft or boat or flotation device, so we had to find other ways to keep our teens busy. Since the hotel doesn't offer activities we had a hard time finding things to keep our teens occupied. We played some volleyball, but there wasn't anyone there to organize games so that became boring quickly. At other "resorts" we've been to we were offered other activities.
- Pull out sofa bed was very uncomfortable. Asked for extra mattress and that helped a bit.
- Workout room was tiny and had a terrible view of the roof top and another building.
- No hooks for towels! No bathroom fan!
- Hallways looked dismal like a grey cement parking garage.

Most definitley a change from previous years. Definitely not a place to for a relaxing, peaceful vacation as it once was. Growing timeshare that seems to be catering more to families with small children. Lots of ruckus in the pool, which is not very large to begin with, impeding upon our ability to relax. Management tolerant of all of the above, regardless of posted pool rules. Pool waitress (R) was very rude and had an attitude about helping with our umbrella as she said it was already shady. Very disappointing. Hoping it was just the group of people visiting this year....as we are owners we may give it one more shot next year before trading for another property.
