Beehive - Diamond Head Theatre

Beehive - Diamond Head Theatre

Wow!!! I have to bring my mother to watch this show. I can guarantee that you will know 95% of the songs in this feature. All classic 1960s music with a very well done narrative of the life of Women in the 60s... through music.

The start of the show felt a bit slow. Ok, I was at the preview, but i think it felt a little rough because the audience didn t know how to respond. Pulling Teeth is how could better describe it but Artistic Director John Rampage did tell the audience that the performers were ready for the audience to play along.

As the songs started, I was bobbing my head, tapping my feet, and clapping my hands. My first cheer came when You Can t Hurry Love came on... still one of my favorite songs ever. My first tear (yes, I will admit that I cry during awesome moments) came on Will You Still Love Me as they did it with so much affection. My heart jumped on Where The Boys Are because I know Connie Francis is one of my mother s favorite artists.

My A-Ha moment came when Abraham, Martin, & John. The whole company on stage with beautiful harmony touching on some of the most significant events in the 60s and the whole history of the U.S.A. At this point I was sold.

Make time the time to get to Diamond Head Theater and watch Beehive. If you do, the final act about Woodstock, which I purposely left out, will let you know that this show is worth the price of the ticket!
