Lamentable not having provided a parking lot for this place. Lamentable to pay for parking on the other side by forcing visitors to cross particularly dangerous traffic lanes.
Otherwise very clean place. Spaces oversized in my opinion while some the exhibition rooms give an impression of suffocation.
A bit dated presentation for the collection room. No playful interest for young children.
Good luck to improve it all.

The Confluence Museum is part of one of Lyon's attractions and I understand why. In a pedagogical framework for my license I went to visit, at first sight to its external appearance we already notice its beauty. Indeed the architect designed it in an unusual way with diform walls and original using the majority of stainless steel the shade of gray seems sad and boring but the forms makes it much more interesting than it is in the area . The exhibitions are all as interesting as the others, this museum does not only expose the French history or the one that is more known but on the contrary that of the world or the one who unfortunately did not know how to be known. There are several eras in different countries. Moreover the personal is very welcoming, warm and does not hesitate to answer all our questions about the exhibitions or even the architecture of the building. I recommend it to all those who are passing through Lyon or even for those who love the history of taking a look, the price is worth it.

The building was placed there without worrying about the parking lot and its access. The accessibility by the external stairs leaves something to be desired especially in wet weather (person with reduced mobility abstain) and the reception at the cash desks is to be reviewed. The orientation within the building is very random. The interior volumes are curiously exploited and one feels oppressed while from the outside the volume seems substantial.
The temporary exhibition is disappointing, the shop not very attractive. Overall a certain disappointment.
Only the architect seems to have enjoyed himself, but this is lacking in scope. However the museum is popular and apparently attracts more visitors than the Guimet museum ....

Superb

Such an odd collection

Such an odd collection
The building is stunning and we were very excited to visit it. It was spacious, and we'll organized but what happened to its collection?! I can honestly say that I was absolutely confused about what was the message to take from this museum. You had cars from the 50's next to models of coliders and Indian headdresses. Skeletons of extinct animals next to a set of the conquest of the poles. This could be such an amazing place if there was some coherence to their displays. Why was there a display of a fake tomb next to a recreation of a room in a palace?! I think you should go for the architecture alone.

The architecture does not leave insensitive.

The architecture does not leave insensitive.
We like it or not, but for my part I find the building well integrated to the site.
The exhibitions on offer are able to have a good time.
The entrance is a bit expensive (9 ) but remains correct and justified.

Excellent museum! The full price is more than honest because for 9 (6 after 17H) you have access to all the museum for the day.
The permanent collection is rather nice, and the temporary exhibitions change quite regularly.

Superb permanent anthropological exhibition, plenty to see, study and learn on all aspects of human and animal existence. Also saw temporary exhibition Antarctica which was very busy but wonderful videos of penguins etc.

A very pleasant afternoon that we spent in this spaceship-like museum! Very interesting temporary exhibitions and a wide variety of permanent ones. Friendly staff.
Small flat parking and few trash (especially in winter when we are all blowing our nose constantly!: D)

Museum very interesting, as much by its architecture as by the exhibitions.
Apart from the people in the shop, all the staff are pleasant and welcoming.
Curiously, ephemeral exhibitions are more interesting than permanent ones ...

Allow at least 3 to 4 hours to have time to appreciate everything

The definitive rooms are interesting but the museum is really worth the detour for its temporary exhibitions, often very good and well set up, moreover the museum is free for minors and pass region holders (for students)

The exhibitions are interesting but the conditions of visit are deplorable for the pregnant women or the old people: not a place where to rest once entered ... In general, the atmosphere is rather cold. Pity...

I really like this museum, especially the temporary exhibits which are always interesting and well done. On the other hand, I was often cold in the rooms, so I advise everyone to bring a sweater (even in summer) and not to leave it in the cloakroom!
Also to do absolutely: see the view from the terrace

Beautiful place with beautiful views through the large windows
Permanent exhibition of the former Guimet museum and beautiful temporary exhibitions
Very nice idea to go out with family
If the architecture is to the appreciation of each, the exteriors propose a beautiful place of walks or only to bask at the confluence of the Rhone and the Saone
A walk that can extend to the district of Confluence along the banks of the Saone or join the Park Gerland crossing the Rhone on the very successful Raymond Barre bridge
Access is very easy with a tram stop at the foot of the museum

This place is modern and offers a large space for these exhibitions. These temporary exhibits are mostly interesting and so are the permanent exhibits. Do not hesitate to go there with your children or just between adults to have a good time.

A beautiful museum, the permanent exhibition is just beautiful and impressive, the animals, the objects are all simply sublime.

The temporary exhibitions are surprising for most, a pity they last as long but given the steps that museums must perform to obtain a collection is already not bad.

Correct but not worth the detour! Indeed no clear structure of the visit. We can go from simplistic to hyper technical without providing explanations. Considering the means spent, there could be many more objects from the old Guimet museum.

I love their temporary exhibition.

I love their temporary exhibition.
Remember to take advantage of the visit of the buildings too.
To avoid waiting outside, make a reservation on the internet.

Very nice museum, but for my visit of the event on Japan it was a disaster organization, just 15 people in front of me and I had to wait 1:20 to enter a Japanese photo booth. Then only one food truck for more than 200 people impossible to eat there. Otherwise apart from it is to do for the view of Lyon from the 4th floor.
