A museum suitable for children from the first grade An educational course
Very nice museum. Both the building and the exhibitions are magnificent.
I particularly recommend temporary exhibitions on venoms and on the Enlightened Brothers.
Be careful to validate your parking ticket before leaving because otherwise it is much more expensive.
My favorite museum IN THE WORLD, no joke any Parisian or even New York museum offers exhibitions as original and neat as much by their theme as by their staging. Especially the exhibits are highlighted, it changes the More
Very nice building and also the exhibition big and special
Excellent museum! Truly a must in Lyon.
Very nice permanent and temporary exhibitions with explanations, videos and sometimes audio commentaries.
I recommend the cafeteria on the top floor of the museum which is worth the detour for its value for money (not so expensive compared to the brasserie next door where the dish is minimum at 20 against 11 for a sandwich / salad + drinks menu + dessert in the cafeteria)
Only positive points for 9 adult rate, I have nothing else to add.
Many topics. Allow at least three hours of visit or a specific subject
Beautiful modern building. Great exhibitions. Only negative is that it was very warm inside.
Very good site with exposures of great diversities and high quality
Very interesting and various permanent and temporary exhibitions
This museum is ugly, the exhibits uninteresting, the view of the depressing highway, and the kind of cafeteria pompously baptized "gourmet counter" overpriced ... to flee therefore ... what we did without regret !!!
One of my favourite museums
Amazing.
The architecture of the place is beautiful, the price of the reasonable entrance 9 / adult, for the exhibition antartica in the small rooms the screens go down to the ground, so the images are completely hidden by More
I love museums, the most it is temporary exhibitions, if not the only regret that is not too serious, it is that we do not find ourselves in a building of the time that made us travel back in time ...
It's a shame that I can't put 5 stars but the museum cafeteria doesn't allow it! How? 'Or' What? A gastronomic city like Lyon with this superb museum is content with a motorway relay! Really a shame to pay 30 euros for a tasteless meal with disposable dishes!
Come and see the restaurant of the Wine Museum in Bordeaux and get an idea!
A great architectural project. Interesting exhibitions
A well-built museum for temporary exhibitions as well as for the permanent collection.
Nice museum with some permanent exhibition on evolution, technology. Good to get an overview but not the best in Europe at any of those topics. The temporary exhibitions we saw were interesting, particularly the one on the Lumiere brothers. The building is interesting on its own and it is worth going to the upper floor to take on the views over the city to the north and over the river confluence to the South.
Nice eclectic museum. Interesting architecture. Too bad there is no student rate over 26 as in some other museums. To have !
Really good ... Suitable for English speaking tourists
Nice museum
A beautiful view of Lyon on the terraces
Free admission for students
Very interesting museum but everything is in the dark it's very difficult when you have sight problems.
Place that represents the confluence of the Rhone and Saone
Very pleasant. Inescapable place for the curious as for the big ones
The museum is really good, it might lack a little more explanation of the works and others.
By cons pay 9 euros the place while free for students or unemployed ... Mouai so much the better for them suddenly
People come and they come back. The ephemeral exhibitions are terribly thoughtful and creative. The main exhibition is itself ... sublime and instructive.
We never get tired not to go to the Confluence Museum.
NB: Reduced rate for entries after 5:00 p.m..
This museum has very "advanced" architecture". Locates by both rivers connecting points..... Although I am not into the topic of the collection , but worth to visit..
After 1/2 hour of queuing in front of the museum at about zero degrees, you have to wait another 1 hour inside the museum to reach the 3 unfortunate boxes. The museum opens to the public at 11 a.m., which means the real tour started at 12:30 p.m. Finally I find the method ingenious, that of forcing people to eat at the museum.
In short. The architecture is rather innovative but you should not see the details and finishes. The joints are neither done nor to be done, the walls are dirty in places (traces of feet), a lot of windows are dirty (and we wonder how we can clean them so much accessibility in places is almost zero), not to mention construction dust that was not even collected.
On the other hand, I liked the 2nd floor where the rooms are superb and the permanent exhibitions very interesting.
After 2 hours of visiting the stomach making itself heard we went up to the 4th floor where the "gourmet counter" is. The room is too small to accommodate all the hungry visitors (given the time). As for meals, it is ordinary (sandwich) and expensive (24 for 3 people).
On the way back down we stopped at the store which offers nothing extraordinary and we went out onto the esplanade which is under the museum and there the construction barriers block access to the garden because nothing is finished.
In summary the architecture is surprising, the finishes disappointing, the 1st floor disappointing, the 2nd floor interesting and the "restaurant" to be avoided.
Considering the "budget" spent (financial pit) and the duration of the singing (10 years) I do not understand that the city of Lyon can open to the public with this level of finish and organization.
Too bad, could do better.
Always full of exhibitions.
Permanent ones are very interesting for children with explanations presented in the form of cartoons or touch screens that captures the children some pieces of the collections are impressive. The booklet for children allows you to play detectives through the different rooms.
Those temporary ones are good too we appreciated the staff, available for "the times for you", adapted to the age of the children and answered all the questions.
A museum UFO, beautiful architecture (which is irresistibly reminiscent of the BMW Welt Munich, built before) but that empty inside!
The place is nice and worth a look. On the other hand the thread of the permanent exhibitions is a little disjointed, and the place very badly organized compared to the vigipirate plan with queues outside, then inside.
Beautiful place. Great architecture. You can visit it and access the panoramic view of its highest floor even without paying the ticket and entering the museum displays.
Modern structure, overlooking the two rivers. It is possible to visit the structure without entering the museum. The visit of the structure is free, you pay only for the museum
Very interesting. Complete collection. Perfect for spending an afternoon with the family who thirsts for culture!
Museum simple and fast for the children but interesting, and very complete if one takes the time to stop at each exhibition. In short for free, we enjoy a quiet space, with quality exhibitions.
Very large and beautiful museum a lot of interaction to visit urgently, bluffing rate.
Museum very beautiful visually, with a permanent exhibition very well and temporary exhibitions always very varied! I highly recommend !
Very interesting and immersive temporary collections. To do with children!
No old pictures to look at, but unusual collections. Very impressive, and the building in this super-modern area anyway !!!
Superb, confusing ... Indispensable for a city like Lyon.
In terms of exterior design, I admit that I do not like it too much ... From what I know it's supposed to be a cloud, for me it's like nothing.
Inside, the space is huge and rather well organized. The first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions and the second to permanent exhibitions. On the ground floor is the reception and the souvenir shop. What is cool is that you can go to the roof where there is a terrace with a good view and a place to eat, ideal in case of good weather.
There is also a brasserie on the ground floor which was closed when I passed.
Very good exhibitions, good organization. It's always a pleasure.
Very poorly designed for strollers and people with reduced mobility
A little nostalgia when you see pieces that were at the Guimet Museum ...
beautiful museum, collections well staged
I love the exhibitions there! And the architecture of the building and the river next to it makes for a lovely walk after the museum fun.
Magnificent building with bold architecture! To visit!
Architecture that does not like war and which is more expensive in maintenance.
Not been inside, but also worth seeing from the outside.
Interesting multimedia museum, especially for children, in a good area in Lyon, la Confluence!
Very beautiful museum beautiful scenography of exceptional objects. The only downside is the food area and its overpriced and poor quality products.
Complete nonsense at the security check, random and arbitrary searches without any reason. The guy needs to be fired, whole museum knows which one...
The permanent collections as well as the temporary exhibitions are particularly interesting. And many are well suited to young children.
I went around 11:30 pa crowded. Super Natural History Museum, I loved the prehistoric animals, having never seen. There are several rooms with different topics. My niece 6 year old loved it!
We have the annual card. My 6 year old son could go there every week. Entertainment for everyone, exhibitions of great quality. Cabinets of wonders. Enough to love science. Do not hesitate to go there for 2 hours on Saturday morning without moderation.
A gigantic museum building at the confluence of the Rhone and Saone. It is worthwhile to look at the steel construction from outside and inside. You do not necessarily have to go to the exhibition, but it should also be interesting!
I love this place and this architecture. Always very good temporary exhibitions that also lead to rediscover the permanent exhibitions.
Loved it, it's very nice, and cheap for the unemployed.
It takes a good half day to enjoy all the exhibitions. I recommend.
Well organized and welcoming, spatially hypermodern.
