An "must see" archaeological site with an awesome museum too!
Make sure to wander to the top. The first incline is a bit slippery so be careful, but last that it's very manageable.
Not having the time to visit both the site and the museum the price of the ticket seemed excessive to me also because having already visited Athens Delhi Corinth olympia where everyone spends from 8 upwards
It is a particular locality, the sense of unease that pervades you makes it even more fascinating
If you are in the area go and have a walk in this ancient city! It is worth it the time!
the door of the lions and the tomb "of Agamemnon" together with the rest of the findings contained in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens constitute a very precious testimony for the history of Greekness and therefore of the whole West. every European citizen should see it.
Very good Archaeological site, for the gate of the Lions, even if it is a little bit, you will only be amazed to see it ... The history of thousands of years in front of you ... The museum has a great and very good innovation the headphones give a complete picture of every exhibit you see ...
Unique place in the world, immersed in an enchanted environment.
Very interesting and impressive place. An educational experience.
Nice of what's left. Rather recommend the Apollo Epicurius temple
Beautiful place! A very interesting museum, but unfortunately a small collection of exhibits. I advise you to visit the treasury at the foot, just be careful there are bats.
Really excellent, very nice site and the price quite correct. Worth a visit even with a few hours of travel.
Very nice even if it has crazy hours! Closes at 3pm and 4pm
Great opportunity to see 2500 to 3500 year old Minoan civilization.
Fascinating hard time like it stopped in the 80s and orange from the area of the Peloponnese and plantociach at Tolo there is no more wonderful taste, no orange, something amazing in the world
Wonderful scenery and citrus orchards. Must see ruins
One of most important places in Greece, when it comes to archeological sites. A lot to be seen here, a lot of them are still in good condition, keeping in mind how much time has passed.
Ruins of an ancient city with an excellent small museum. A calm inspection of everything, together with the ascent to the hill - at least two hours, it is better to come in the morning or in the evening, in the afternoon there are crowds of tourists on buses. There is a kiosk in the parking lot with cookies, ice cream and juices.
The archeological site of Mycenae is almost a must if you are traveling in the area. Very well organized with parking and refreshments at the base of the hill. The paths and the signage inside the citadel are very well organized, allowing the visitor to realize what he sees. Very good, although small in size as many finds are in Athens, and the museum located in the area. Do not forget to ask for the audio guide from the museum reception makes the visit really different.
Great site but not very clear in its reading. You have to climb to the top to get an overview.
I am sorry that as a Greek I do not have free access to the history of my country, my origin, my homeland
Walking in the footsteps of the Myth
The Peloponnesian land hosts in its "guts" one of the most important civilizations that flourished under the Greek light: the Mycenaean. It is difficult to imagine today the emotion of Schliemann and Dorpfeld when, guided by Homer, one of the greatest cradles of mankind was revealed in the eyes of the whole universe. A territory that has been inhabited uninterruptedly since the dawn of history and has emerged as the hegemon of the ancient known world.
Very nice site, and very good conservation of the graves.
Ancient greek civilization!!!!! Emotion and creepy ... !!!
Nice site together with the tomb of Agamemnon makes you dream because it is isolated on the hill and in the environment as millennia ago.
You must visit this place with a guide .., otherwise it is a big pile of pebbles.
If you are in this area you must visit this area, but pay attention if you are in summer visit it in the morning could be very hot.
Very suggestive place .. it seems to be able to see what those places once saw
Amazingly precise construction from ~3000 years ago
Excavations are worth seeing. The only downside is the toilets.
The Mycenaean fortress or the ruins of the Mycenaean fortress date back to the 2nd millennium BC. then it was one of the most important military fortifications of those times, the importance of the city is shown in history as being the Mycenaean period between 1600-1100 BC.
Spectacular enclave. Magical site in every way. The Iliad, the history and the importance of the Mycenaean civilization in the history of Greece is that of the Western Culture. Enter through the Door of the Lions to savor the Ancient World. It is worth seeing
Beautiful. A superb panorama and beautiful ruins. Shame that this is cruelly lacking in explanation.
a really fascinating place full of well preserved ruins. the country itself has little to offer ... a few restaurants and a couple of souvenir shops.
An essential archaeological site in a visit to Greece.
Beautiful preservation of places. Preferably go through the museum beforehand, audioguides are included in the entry, it will allow you to better permeate the history of this site. Very welcome in passing.
Love historical stories about this place. Many things blow my mind here!
In this place we heard strange and creepy voices coming from darkness.
The ghost of Agamemnon?
Example of remote civilizations comparable to ours with elasticity of thought and curiosity of interest
The story within reach of a splendid yet somewhat tiring eye
Mycenae - a former state, a city from which there is not much left to this day. In the second half of the second millennium BC, it was a center of Mycenaean culture. According to mythology, Mycenae founded Perseus - the founder of the Perseid dynasty. One of the mythical kings of Myken was Agamemnon of the Atrydov family, the conqueror of Troy. On the great hill, the walls of Agamemnon's gate and grave are preserved. It is worth to see being in Greece.
This is an outstanding place to visit. The beauty of the location. The incredible ancient fortress rich in history.
High place of history. This door is an enigma when it is built. Must have!
Some fragments of the Mikenian civilization are still well visible. The main gate and well in the back of the city will appeal to snakes everybody. To do well descriptions on the boards. Ceresnice is a museum that contains many well-preserved original finds. I recomend.
Very beautiful at least once in a lifetime it must be seen.
Just a shocking place! It could have had a little better support, such as a larger car park, a cafeteria canteen (although the canteen in the car park offers the basics). Anyone in the area of Argolida should definitely visit Mycenae!
Nice archeological site, the plans are well taken care of but they are not informative enough ...
Disagreement in the very beautiful museum the stray dogs in the closed space!
"Close your eyes and imagine waking up in the past"
Impressively. Good shoes are useful. Exhibits clearly explained on boards. Tour takes at least an hour.
