Very nice zoo from what I ve seen in other cities. A few new attractions like the cat house are well done and you can watch tigers Walk up of you on a cat walk. Still needs a lot of improvement
I really enjoyed our visit. The zoo was fairly busy despite the COVID precautions. Buying an online ticket was super easy... there s one flow of traffic through the zoo so social distancing is easy. Lots of animals and most of them were out because it was a nice day.
Many if the workers clearly showed they did not want to be there. Many animals were gone and the maps we're very confusing and had to back track a lot. I love the Denver zoo but the changes really make the experience very boring
Always enjoy visits to the Denver Zoo. Parking can be tight but it's always a good time.
Very clean, and family friendly! Our young family loved it!
Great social distancing measures. One-way paths through all the zoo created. Still some vendors open.
An amazing time. Don't miss endangered species day on Fridays... wonderful place to go with the family or a date.
Great experience ,lots of animals, good dining options and grandkids had a great time. However the PARKING is absolutely horrible!! You need to get there at least 30min to an hour before the zoo opens if you have any hope of getting a parking spot
First time visitor. Great information and displays. Multiple floors and exhibits.
Love the Zoo! More shaded areas would be nice though. Would be lovely if they had stand alone ice dispensers. Both adults and kids get overheated. It would also be nice if indoor facilites were a cooler temperature.
Great place for the family- so much to see! Get here early as the parking lots fill fast. Word of caution; don t even think about coming here on the weekends!!
Good exhibits. Free zoo day make a nice option to bring family without spending a lot of money.
This place was awesome! It's kind of a maze though, easy to get lost. Security is great. A kid went missing and the shut down the entrance/exit until they found the kid. Kind of an inconvenience but that's awesome that they think that its important.
Something different on every visit. Love going here.
Azaming zoo, well maintained. You can see all kinds of animal.
Had a great day with our daughter and our grandson.
Great place for a family outing and always lots of fun programs like evening engagements with lots of lights
Nice new exhibit with the tigers and elephants very pretty with all the flowers and space for banquets and company parties
Haven't been since I was a little girl so took my son and for him it was amazing but personally I like the cm zoo they give animal more room
Excellent zoo. Lots of great animals, most of which are easily viewed. Very family friendly. ADA accomodations. Family bathrooms, and baby centers Reasonable food prices. Highly recommend.
I bring the kids here every other week - we all love it :)
I have visited this place with my family. It was really awesome experience for us. Their is also a restaurant inside this zoo.
Always love the Denver Zoo it's one of the best things about Denver.
Very nice Zoo, lots of animals to see. Food was good too.
Huge zoo! So much to do! So much to see! I will definitely be getting a membership.
Such a great habitat for both the elephants and the gorillas! 10 acres that they can move the Asian rhinos and elephants around on. And a nice elephant presentation by the trainers. Lovely grounds, wandering docents that provide bits of info on various animals AND a brand new bear habitat. A few new animals for us that we have not seen elsewhere (the fishing cat and many African deer).
So many zoo babies too! Baby oranguatan, sloth and mandrill sighted. So fun!
A beautiful set of grounds, an obvious effort to compost and recycle (so much cleaner than other zoos).
Great zoo, nice open layout, some very descriptive names for their animals. The keeper demonstrations were a nice feature to the visit. Free parking and the fact it's very close to the entrance/exit is very convenient as well.
Please don t go here they do not take proper care of their animals. Just as an example, they recently bought two polar bears who have been with each other for 6 years and have a close relationship, and they plan to separate them. This is not a zoo you want to go to.
There were a lot of empty cages and also I think the cages are to small for some of their animals.. but still beautiful!
The zoo literally always has something going on that is fun for families. I've seen all the shows and all are worth it. All staff does an amazing job. If you live remotely near here, you should probably be a member because being one helps animals here and far away. They are a cutting-edge zoo with many conservation projects and green initiatives. Support them!
Been coming for years. We always get the family pass. Worth the 1 hour drive.
Really big zoo pretty much a maze to get through. But my family loved it
For sure a perfect location for spending the day with your family. Lots of animals to see. Make sure you take a map. They also offer free admission days. Arrive early so you wont spend to much time finding a parking spot.
How can you not love the Denver zoo! They have wonderful habitats for the animals... And now they have a baby rhino and lion to.. Got to see the babies
What a horrible experience. I have been to many zoos and safaris and have come to expect that these very large, very wild animals should have a healthy, happy, and spacious area to roam. The enclosures at this zoo were far below subpar. It was inhumane. I only stayed for about twenty minutes...just enough time to see that half the animals were cowering in a corner and the other half were desperate to escape. There was no room for them to live and in any spot in the zoo you could hear all the noises of the city. I feel terrible having given any money to this establishment would have liked a refund had that been an option. This zoo would be greatly improved by reducing the number of animals to an amount that can be sustained on its land, or being relocated outside the city. Denver Zoo should be shut down for its shameful treatment of life.
If you're a Colorado resident, or have the time...go to the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg. Same price, and a far better experience. You'll also know that your money is going towards helping the animals.
A very nice zoo with a good variety of animals. I loved the chimpanzees.
Been there twice, with a couple yrs in between and liked both visits, however this last visit this week quite a few exhibits were empty, unsure if animals were being relocated or treated at the time, there were just no signs of what was going on. Still, highly recommended, is kept clean, recycling containers available, and shows/lectures are entertaining and interesting, while still looking out for the well being of the animals. They also promote environment conservation and support of artisans from different parts of the world.
One of the most well maintained zoos I've ever visited. Animal enclosures made it easy to spot most of the animals.
Not too big, but the new Asian animals area is cool. I'm still partial to the rain forrest exhibit.
Way too little parking area. Didn't get to go in. :-(
The exhibits are pretty and well kept. The monkeys are especially fun since the littler ones run around in trees not behind bars, so it feels like you're seeing them in the wild. It takes a long time to see everything though, so by the end of the day, everyone is tired and cranky.
Got there around 8:45am. Parking was easy to find and since we purchased our tickets online we got right in. I downloaded the app and the map was extremely helpful! Most of the animals were out since it wasn't hot hot yet. They have plenty of drinking fountain/water bottle stations through out the park. Food was a bit pricy but the portion sizes are large.
Very well maintained, with a lot of animals. Parking can be an issue.
They have a lot of different species, you can see pretty much whatever you like. The only unfortunate thing is that they're crazy expensive, otherwise we would go more often.
Fantastic zoo, with friendly staff. It can get a bit crowded, but it is worth it.
To be honest, I was not very impressed with this zoo. The animals did not seem very content and the zoo appeared to be very run down. I hope that my visit was just during a period of renovation or that it is not the true character of the zoo. However, if you want to go to a zoo while in Colorado, I personally liked the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo a whole lot better.
Wonderful zoo with very friendly personnel. We take our grandchildren regularly and enjoy every visit. The animals are well cared for and the recent expansions have made it a great destination for out of town visitors.
The zoo is clean with plenty to do for the whole family. Food is ok to bring and they have water bottle filling stations in different locations.
Extremely clean super friendly people and great variety of animals. Love this place
Always a great place for the family! Lots to see and always taken care of. Plus, love the festive activities such at the Christmas lights and dino exhibits.
We attended Zoo Lights. Really a great display for all assortment of ages. Tip: look at the Marquis inside the gate for special open exhibits. That was one of the best parts. The Asian otters were great fun to watch. We could have watched them for an hour. Tropical Discovery is always a sure thing as well.
Wonderful place to spend the day with family and friends, good food too
Boo at the Zoo was fun but unfortunately, many of the animals weren't out. We were able to walk around the entire zoo in a few hours.
We always love the zoo, and they are going above and beyond during covid-19 times to keep the guests and animals safe. Fantastic visit yesterday - hippo feeding, lion cubs, swinging monkeys, bears up close - we loved it all!
Had a great time out with family, always enjoy a sunny warm day walking around seeing all the animals. And enjoyed the swirl ice cream cone
This zoo is big. Lots off events and too two trips and still haven't seen everything.
All the staff are very helpful and happy the animals don't actually seem sad I seem to really relax
Great job with social distancing. Some of the animals were not available to view, but the baby rhino is so cute!
I had a really fun time here. You can see most of the zoo in about 2 hours. They have a lot of animals in and outdoors.
Enjoyed the Lights festival the weekend of 11/29 the lights were beautiful with libations and snacks all along the light route.
Great times here. Bring water and picnic food. We brought a wagon to tote around. The train rides are a bit to short. Under 5 minutes. Enjoyed all the animals especially the Tiger feedings.
They always have something unavailable or closed when we go . Kinda boring .
My family absolutely loved it - great place to just enjoy the animals
Zoo lights was fantastic! We came from Las Vegas and wasn't disappointed! Definitely coming back next year! Thank you Denver and the Denver Zoo!
Well kept zoo that houses tons of amazing animals and is a great place for families!
Denver Zoo never Disappoints. Amazing staff, amazing atmosphere. It was my sons 2nd birthday and they made it so special for him
Got a membership as a gift, and we really enjoy taking our 2 daughters!
Denver zoo is awesome. They have upgraded and built new exhibits. Animals look happy and is just a fun and Exciting place to visit.
This zoo is wonderful! There are a lot of different angles you can view most of the animals. Also plenty of places to sit and take a rest. Surprising the pizza was very good as well! Parking is close by and a lot to see to take up an entire afternoon!
Beautiful zoo - really seemed like the animals were well cared for.
What an incredible place! Don't miss it when your in denver
Nice place for kids. Love the tiger cage ......it's very unique how the tiger walks through an elevated gallery.
Great zoo. Not too big but packs a punch delivering plenty of very interesting things to see. Great place to go for an afternoon stroll and ask questions to the volunteer staff. Would absolutely recommend for children and adults alike. They also have free days so keep an eye out for them.
