This is typically a great zoo! The day we went it was rarher hot outside and some of the animals were indoors. The lions, tigers, leopards, hippos and a few others we were not able to see. Kind of a big let down since those are the animals we went to see. Maybe next time! We loved the tropical indoors exhibits. Lots of fish,snakes and reptiles!
On a good note, we were pleasantly surprised with the pineapple Dole whip! Great price too!

Wonderful place. Everything was very nice, and clean.
We went late and had to cut it a little short, but I'm always amazed at how lovely the experience is and how beautiful the new exhibits are.
Every employee that IM countered had an awesome demeanor seems they were happy to be there and treated everyone firmly but fairly my first trip to the Denver Zoo I'm not from here it was amazing
I went during the Zoo lights. In addition to the fancy lights, there were a number of sessions with the animal keepers engaging with animals. I am sure kids would love it
Dropped by for the zoo lights and they were absolutely beautiful. Definitely bundle up before heading out because it gets very cold after the sun goes down.
We enjoy the visit to the zoo, yesterday. We are from New Mexico and this zoo is great compared to the one in New Mexico. We had a great time and the weather was perfect.
After watching the virtual safaris online, I was more eager than ever to revisit my favorite zoo. Seeing the new baby rhino Joona was among the highlights of the day! Looking forward to next time and seeing how much she has grown.

Poor Management - Due to COVID, the zoo requires pre-scheduled admission. I have tried about ten times to sign up for a time for my five year old son to attend the zoo. He is begging to go but unfortunately all times are booked ever single time I have attempted to sign up. You would think that the zoo would implore logic in the sign-up system to ensure all paying members would have a fair shot at getting a slot. Instead, it seems to be at the mercy of frantic soccer moms who have nothing to live for except their children's entertainment.
Excellent. Animals seemed happy, loads of people were there but it didn't seem crowded.
So much has changed since I was a child. By far one of the best zoos with close up encounters and a variety of animals/exhibits. It s worth getting the membership as it pays for itself in 2 visits. Even my older kids enjoy the zoo because there s so much to do and see - I don t recommend trying to get it all in just one day!
The zoo was fantastic. They keep it so very clean. The little ones enjoyed the popcorn. And the zoo keepers were so very nice showing off the new baby sloth.
AZA approved, which is huge for me. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and also informative. The volunteers are also very helpful as well. Clean, and they have a lot of events throughout the year to change things up, one of my favorites to visit!
Great place to take the kids. Great place for anyone to see, experience and learn.
A great zoo for people of all ages! Wonderful attractions, friendly staff and volunteers. Theres a delightful little train and a wonderful carousel for the kids! Bring your own food and drinks unless you want to pay high prices, though!
Nice zoo for children. Very kid and stroller or wagon friendly. Parking seemed really full on memorial day weekend but not overly crowded on the zoo itself. Museum next door.
It was a very long walk they had closed the road then when we got up there the road was open they need to up date a lot of the exhibit but I got to see the elephants
Interesting, fun, and adventurous. Though I have to say not nearly as big as I was hoping. Unlike the Cincinnati Zoo, however thank god it wasn't anything like the Indianapolis Zoo which basically you walk in and walk out and it's over.
I have mixed feelings about zoos, but denver does a good job of creating space for the animals and at this rate zoos will be the only places some of them exist anymore.

The zoo is nice. With limited access and having to make reservations, the zoo is less crowded. The employee's are helpful and the zok is clean.
Awful place, not due to staff or attractions but the lack of child supervision by other patrons. There has to be some way to penalize someone for losing their kid multiple times. My girlfriend and I had to help children find their parents more than once.
The holiday lights at the Zoo are lovely, and some of the animals were awake and available to see.
Boo in the Zoo. Fun for my daughter but a parking nightmare! We we're lucky this time to park in the zoos lot. Last year I was almost 1 mile away in the farthest reaches of City Park.
They do a good job with the exhibits. Food is good. Lines can get long and parking can be a pain.
Visiting the Denver Zoo is a great experience with many educational opportunities during visits. People who are anti zoos would do well to visit once and examine how they are trying to aid animal populations and educate the masses about conservation of animals around the world.
I was in a wheelchair due to knee surgery. Between myself and family pushing me around, it was easy access. I still got to see all the animals. Staff is very friendly. Security is also friendly and they make their presence known. I had a blast. I haven't been to a zoo since I was a child. It gave that warm feeling I used to have with my family. I have some amazing pictures and videos. Food and drink costs aren't insane.
The zookeepers are pretty informational. They have all the big animals you want to see, and even the ones you didn't know existed. The new baby lion is super cute. The elephant show is cool, and the indoor tropical exhibit is my favorite. I still have yet to see all the exhibits here, and I have been here so many times.
Went on Wednesday, July 4th. Crowd size was perfect. Not too busy.

I really enjoy the zoo, we have a membership and enjoy going and casually enjoy the animals and weather and getting some steps in. Clean, friendly staff. We usually get food or a snack, fair priced but also get 10% off a member.
The Zoo is always an amazing place to spend the day. I never have anything negative to say about it. It's always a wonderful experience. We especially love the Hippo

The annual pass is well worth it. Has been taking my kids, ages 2 and 5 and they love it, especially the northern shore area where kids can play on the sand. The elephant show, the sealion show and penguin feeding are among the favorites. There are a lot of areas to explore. Can't wait for the Zoo lights this year!
This zoo is lovely. The animals seem well taken care of and they have really adorable frogs and sloths. I have a membership and try to go often.
This is a great zoo!!! A great variety of animals that aren t available at our home zoo (Minnesota Zoo). They have a lot about conserving energy and what not too compostable items, recycling, etc. They also have a lot of shows, but didn t get a chance to attend any. Price is $20 for adult and $13 for kids 3+, they do not participate in reciprocity discounts. Parking is free.
The Denver Zoo is great. So many fun things for kids to do that are more interactive than most zoos. Really focuses on learning too.
It was very fun you have a choice of 2 one way viewing when you enter to see whole or part of zoo.
I'm giving it one star fue to the fact that most of the animals we went to see were not out to be viewed. It was a sad disappointment for us and most of all, our children. We drove all the way from Iowa. Save your money
Went for Holiday Zoolights. This is a yearly tradition. The lights were beautiful and festive as always. Saw very few animals, which is to be expected since it was dark. Noticed a few new things in the lighting display and a couple of old favorites missing. It's possible they just got moved to a new location and we just missed it. Overall a great experience, one of the highlights of the holiday season.
Awesome animals ! My family came all the way from south dakota and stopped here on our weekend trip, about $108 for 3 kids and 3 adults. We brought drinks and snacks to save on cash. The parking lot was smooth getting in and out. We enjoyed ourselves and made great memories
It's not laid out logically, IMO. Pachyderm area and others are kind of confusing. Good buildings here and there let you cool off. The tropical frogs were awesome. ABQ Bio Park is better. This is a picture of the Polar bear pool, I don't think it should be this color.

A great zoo with a nice lay-out. What else can I say? It's a full city zoo with all the animals you'd expect. You can make an easy day of it, and enjoy City Park and the Museum of Nature and Science also, which are on the back and the side of the zoo, respectfully. Parking is free, too. A great family experience all around.
Daughters birthday and she got so many sweet compliments by many people! We had such a fantastic time! It was a wonderful experience!
Love this place! The Halloween decorations are great and my family love the animals. The denver zoo is great for people of all ages.

A fantastic zoo with plenty of exhibits to delight the family. We've had a family pass for years. It's a wonderful way to kill a few hours and get some exercise to boot!
Parking is horrible. Wait time to get inside is horrible. Most of the animals were hiding and we didn't get to see them. We did walk around for 3 hrs and still had not seen the entire place so that was a plus.
Great animal displays and a very good layout that makes it easy to see all of the exhibits!
We have had a membership since our first son was one. He is almost 6 now and our second son is 4. We love it here. We love the animals and all of the improvements. The staff is great. So much to see and learn. But we tend to pack lunches now. We just never really feel too great after eating there.
Had an excellent time at the zoo. They have lots of precautions in place for COVID. Sanitizer stations everywhere and face masks required. It was really nice to go to the zoo with such low capacity.

Good zoo to enjoy with familly and children, a lot of areas and animals,but in winter is dificult to see all the animals.
The bears have a slightly better space than I've seen them in in the past. The restrooms are filthy as usual and the concessions are quite expensive.
The zoo is always cool to visit especially with your kids. Denver Zoo has been around for over 100 years so they must be doing something right.
