Jennie and I took, my best friend, Jennies girlfriend here for her birthday on October 1st! I want to say thank you to the people that keep that place going. It was so relaxing to walk around not crowed and everyone waring face mask made the trip much more enjoyable! Glad they had the scooters across the street, it made for a fun trip to My Brothers Bar for lunch,(My Brothers Bar is a place I would not recommend. Their service was bad and food was Mcdonalds standards! Pretty set up tho) Over all the experience at the Denver Aquarium was amazing and we will be back!
The Denver Aquarium is a great place for anyone looking for a fun afternoon in downtown Denver! It's exhibits are amazing with plenty of staff to talk to about all sorts of fish-related things. Not to mention many interactive activities such as feeding stingrays and meeting exotic animals! It's not very expensive and has plenty to do for all ages!
Overpriced per usual and short (under hour). Nice variety but mostly small tanks with murky water and bad lighting. Later half is up to par though.
This is a great place to take the kids and burn so energy for a couple of hours. It's always clean and comfortable. I really don't like that they force everyone to take a picture at the beginning. They don't even make it clear why you're getting the picture taken or where you can purchase it at the end. Meanwhile, the line to get in backs out the door. Once you're past that, though, it's pretty much smooth sailing.
Such an amazing experience! We visited Colorado on our honeymoon and had such a great time at the aquarium. I saw some species i never even knew existed. Cant wait to go back (:
I'm shocked to report, yet....as an original native Californian, this was still the best damn crab cake I've ever had! Our waitress Agatha was a dream, and very knowledgeable. But those crab cakes are still haunting me!
Must. Return!
This aquarium is expensive and overly commercialized. It's alright for a short activity, but we only go if we can find an admission coupon or deal. It's not worth it at full price.
My heart is so full of love for so many who have been employed here. I can't even attempt to list you all because so many of you have cared for me and loved me and given me your kindness and friendship from the kitchen to the parking lot, to the ballroom and the tanks. I love you all and let's go swimming
Aquarium food and tour throw it all was the best with all the stories I never knew and learn more then I already knew!! I love the ocean I believe everyone needs to try it at least once!
Me and my family love it there. So much to explore! Perfect for kiddos.
Aquarium itself great reastra until horrible uncle Ben's instant white rice and canned mushrooms also when asking for something grilled simply grilled beware that this means soaked in butter and then grilled in butter than topped with lemon butter sauce ..... not exactly simply grilled.. never again red lobster has better quality of food .
Fantastic aquarium. I have been to a fee and this one is worth the admission price.
Loved the exhibits, but on a hot day (102) it was so crowded and filled with strollers that navigating through the walkways was difficult. A family friendly activity that won't take up the entire day.
It was very beautiful the way it changed from room to room was magnificent with all the different fish from so many different places they have a great flow to everything and my 2 year old loved it!
Experience was low key, non stressful. Some things were off limits due to current events, but I felt the exhibits were tastefully laid out. It was a good experience, but not the greatest.
Visiting from out of town and went on a spur of the moment decision. We paid over $100 for a family of 6 to enter. For that money I expected to spend an afternoon but we were done in about an hour. I have been to much better aquariums but there were some cool surprises.
What a great aquarium. Huge selection of animals including things you would not usually see at an aquarium like Lions! Well worth stopping at. You could spend a lot of time here watching the otters! They also have a tank where you can feed the stingrays.
Spent the whole day after our flight was canceled, could have spent more.
Love this Aquarium! So many great sights; fun for the whole family. My only problem is that its expensive. Like, $20 a person. But if you want to see some cool fish, this is the place to go.
It's an interesting place, we had a lot of fun and learned a few things.
Have to pay $8 parking across the street. There were a nice variety of things to see.
Valentine's day 2016, I made some reservation at this establishment, I when I called told them about some allergies we had, they told me that shouldn't be a problem, when I got there, all dressup and excited, the server told that they were wrong, and all the items in the valentine's dinner package did have what i was allergic for, bummer, a manger was called, her name is Ramona, long story short, she took care of us really good, we had an amazing dinner, mermaids show, great time, all the credit for this lady "Ramona", she really went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, and turn what could have been a nightmare to a wonderful, pleasant night for me and my family, that is what I call great customer service, thank you Ramona, by the way the food was really tasty, I will come back for sure.
I love the fish and the worm they are doing - only downside is the sheer number of strollers. Almost got run over by quite a few.
Really enjoy going there. Was a little upset that they got rid of some of the sharks. I love sharks.
Our last family vacations included trips to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago and the Baltimore aquarium. If you have seen these two skip this one. It is okay but small and not a lot to see.
Beautiful aquriaum with great learning experience with family. Got it on sale right on time during the summer break.
Love the dive bar. Don't love the tiger in the confined space.
My cousin sons love the place and all of us,
Please think to put the pictures praises cheaper
Horrible experience. The fish and sharks were in ridiculously small enclosures. Tiger's SHOULD NOT be kept in conditions like that. Ever.
Was just horrifying how cramped everything was. I've been to much better aquariums than this and this one should look at what other places have done and start over.
I love it, you get a great view of all the fish. A most with the family, friends or solo.
Very educational. So many beautiful aquariums and amazing fish
My family enjoyed our visit here over the weekend. The exhibits were great and I love how they included benches in front of almost every large tank to sit and watch the fish swim about. It was quite busy when we came which was to be expected but we missed some tanks due to people crowding around. It was a little overwhelming and claustrophobic at times but that's not the facilities fault! My biggest complaint would be the exit area with the stingrays. The area is far too small for all the people and it wasn't clear where the "normal" exit was. The area you go to pay for face painting is a tiny booth right next to the stingray pool so there was no area for a line to form. It was just a little chaotic so we skipped face painting because we didn't want to have to deal with it. My only other complaint was the restaurant. It's very fancy and cool with tanks for you to watch the fish while you eat but holy moly the prices!!! It wasn't cheap getting into the aquarium in the first place and then when we viewed the menu... the cheapest items were $15 appetizers. This might be "normal" for Denver but not for our family. Sadly, we left to eat elsewhere but am sure the food would have been delicious. At least we'd hope so for those prices lol Overall, we will absolutely be back but maybe on a weekday so it's not so crowded :-)
Cool! So many fish and don't take all day to see it
Totally awesome place! I took my daughter there for her birthday to eat lunch while watching the mermaids. It was magical!
Dope spot. Tons of different little viewing spaces for the fish. Kinda feel bad for all the fish stuck in tiny tanks that just sit there. Idk. But other than that it was cool walking through and getting the experience. Definitely recommend if you've never been.
Took a 2 year old. Only issue is adults blocking the view half the time..
Overpriced and over the top! Tropical Discovery at the Denver Zoo rivals the exhibits and you have access to the rest of the zoo while saving a couple of bucks. It was noisy, crowded, and hard to maneuver. The sound effects were obnoxious; More
Awesome place for children of all ages, the restaurant was a great experience. Staff was very friendly. Loved it!!
We were in town for the last football game of the year and to celebrate New year's in Denver. Once again my husband surprised me with this location. We didn't go to the aquarium it self we went to dinner and enjoyed the mermaid show.
I think the prices are too high $47 for 2 adults. In the beginning we were excited and then saddened because the first area we see is a snapping turtle that looked dead. I went to tell staff and he said she always does that. The space they have her in is so small it made me feel really heartbroken. In the pictures you'll see what little room she has while others have a much bigger environment. All she can do is spin around. She needs a bigger area! The rest of the Aquarium was okay. The only good part was at the end.
Fun! Take your time and really take in everything there. Nice Aquarium with a lot of aquatic life.
Great place for the family. We are going to make this an annual event for our family.
Great place! Little expensive but expected it since it's in Denver.
It wasn't worth the time or money. If you are looking for a good aquarium to visit don't go here. It took us less than an hour to see all the exhibits and that was on one of there high volume days.
This is the 2nd time we've gone and we absolutely love it. The stingray pool is our favorite. Extra points for Starbucks on the premises.
Expensive ticket for underwhelming variety. A tiger does not belong in an aquarium and its enclosure was tiny.
I really enjoy the aquarium with my two young boys. The play area is great for young kids. We have a pass & visit regularly, I'm not sure if I would be that excited by the price for a one time visit, but we go every 10-14 days.
Super fun, great exhibits and well layed out, def will be back
Fun place! Kids and adults both can enjoy this place!
I'm still not sure why they have 3 tigers here. Especially when only 1 can be out at a time. The indoor venue is not sufficient for these giant cats. Conversely, the aquatic exhibits are nice and well maintained. My kids were hoping to see "Nemo" and "Dory" and were very excited when we found the right exhibit. I was also happy to see the sting rays were on a feeding break and not being overfed. We ate at the restaurant for lunch, which still seems really weird to me. Eating fish while watching fish swim by is... odd. The service was pretty terrible and the wait time for our food was very long, but it was all delicious once we finallly got it. The kid's menu is substantial and not just burgers and nuggets. We'll likely come back in a few years but it's not somewhere we'd visit regularly for the cost.
The overall experience hasn't changed since I came so many years ago. But everything is over priced now and some of the experiences are rather lack-luster. I might be interested in coming back, hut not for a long while. Don't see myself going on a regular basis, especially for the price.
Loved this place. Lot of stuff to see and learn about.
My boyfriend and I had so much fun here! What a great little gem to go visit! The otters were so playful and interact with you too! Which I loved because they're my favorite animals.
Well themed to keep kids interested, though could use more information on the exhibits themselves.
Having been to a number of aquariums around the country, I didn't go into this one with high expectations.
However, I was very surprised, and greatly enjoyed my visit. The tanks were all very well maintained and clean, and the animals all seemed very healthy and in great shape. There were a large variety of exhibits, with an equally large variety of animals.
I wasn't a huge fan of the single walking route; I prefer being able to jump between exhibits more readily. I was a bit confused about the dark floodwater room between the initial freshwater exhibit and the following reptile/sea of Cortez exhibit, but maybe it's designed to excite younger visitors.
I was very impressed with the coral tanks I saw, as well as the Pacific Coast exhibit. The shark tank was very nice as well. I was excited personally to see arowana, as they're not common in most public aquariums. I had no interest in the shows, and didn't see any so I cannot comment.
For the price ($23+7 parking) it's an alright deal, and a very competent aquarium. It's right in line with pricing for other aquariums of this size, and like I said, there was a fair amount of variety. This one is worth supporting, they clearly care very highly for their animals.
This is a really nice place with attractions that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. There are a lot of really cool fish, sharks and other water-based things. The carousel, restaurant and 4-D movie are also fun. It's more expensive than some other museum/educational places but you do get a lot for the price.
