Spectacular park with most veautiful scenery you ever seen.
It is licated halfway between Fairbanks and Anchorage.
You can go there by car but I suggest you to use bus from the bus stop in the Denali to visit the Denali park.
If you will be lucky you can see some beautiful wild creature such as moose and fox.

AMAZING

Today I must boast a visit to the beautiful Denali National Park (Alaska), which we graduated as about 10% of all its visitors in sunny weather. It is an amazing park with the dominant mountain Denali (formerly Mount McKinley, height 6190m) with unspoiled nature and animals.

Plan your backcountry territories ahead of time. Soooo much land to discover it's unbelievable. Be prepared to see many a grizzly bear as well. Do the drive from the lower 48 [from chicago for us :D]. The journey is half the experience.

Denali National Park and Preserve has so much to offer. We camped at the Wonder Lake campground for two nights. The ride to/from the campground was so enjoyable, including dynamic, breath taking scenery and sightings of wild animals. During our ride, we saw a red fox, a brown bear, a herd of caribou, a golden eagle, and lots of rabbits and ground squirrels. Even though the bus ride is almost 5.5 hours, we never got bored. We were also lucky to see Mt. Denali while we were camping. Two storms pushed away the smoke, and we woke up to a view of the Alaska range, from east to west. There is only one established trail in the Wonder Lake area, McKinley bar trail. It is a relatively flat 4.8 mile round trip trail, and you will walk through the tundra to taiga and reaches the river. There are blue berries along the way, too.

Even though we got rained on multiple times, we had a great time. I recommend staying at least 2 nights to explore different areas of the park. Our 3 nights stay was not enough, and we will come back again to explore some more.

From the tourist center, take a park bus, and you can see the changes of the plants from the hills, and slowly the tall trees become shrubs to the grasslands. I was very surprised to see the wild animals, and slowly pay attention to snoring to avoid scaring them. The nature ecology is infinitely magical. The skillful bus driver's room with special hand communication and super good vision to guide the observation of distant animals is absolutely extinct.

Beautiful park that can be visited by bus (stop when meeting with the many animals of the park) but also by vehicle on 20 kms and where you can already see elk (among others). Possibilities to do many hikes and camping (Wonderlake - facing the Denali).
Buses for campsites can carry everything you need on site.
If possible, leave early, just the sunrise is beautiful ....

We visited in fall and it was really colorful and beautiful. We dint get a clear view of Denali during our stay as it was cloudy. Should definitely take the tours as private vehicles aren't allowed deep into the park. We went on the Tundra wilderness tour we got to see grizzly bears, moose, caribou, doll sheeps and wolf pups.

We took the Eilsen Visitor center shuttle. The driver was incredibly knowledgeable and stopped many times to show us the sights. We saw Bears, Caribou, Moose and other smaller animals like Arctic ground squirrel, Marmot and some birds.

I visited with my parents when I was 19 in July of 93. We sat on a big school bus with packed lunches and endured a long bumpy ride with other tourists from all over the world. We headed into the park with a lovely young ranger telling us facts about the park. Within no less than 90 minutes on the bumpy bus, we saw a huge Moose in the green valley and the top of the big mountain came out as the clouds gave way to the sun. Even the ranger was awestruck by our good fortune and quick delivery. It stays with me as one of the best parts of our 2 week trip to this beautiful state.

I went Denali with other 2 female friends, we booked two nights camping in the wonder lake!
I was terrified of encounter with Monsieur bears when we went to hiking and camping in the night! But still, those are quite funny when we recalled those memories later!

Its Alaska, I mean what else needs said. The whole state should be one of the wonders of the world. Here you can see golden and bald eagles. Grizzly or maybe brown bears, and more salmon than you could ever imagine. Especially if you go during the fall run. Grab a license and a rod and don't look back.

Nature at its finest is the best way to describe this awesome park . We arrived after services had closed, but still were able to enjoy the limited drive through the park with little traffic. Beautiful pictures to cherish for a lifetime.

Fantastic Park! We saw tons of wildlife including grizzly bears, moose and caribou. Lots of wilderness. Although the tours do provide for handicapped individuals, it does have a lot of walking involved.

The biggest gain in the Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska is the brown bear that I have passed by, not to mention my 12-hour hard journey. Oh, I think this is the most appropriate word for the brown bear. Next time you must go to Katmai National Park and Preserve to watch their catching salmon.

The park road tours are a great experience; get up early for the best wildlife viewing. The visitor s center is the must starting place for anyone hoping to fully experience this National Park. The staff is friendly and well informed about the opportunities that await you.
Don t miss the videos that are offered for a unique view of park offerings that you may never experience.

Wow! A majestic drive through the park to look at grizzly bears, mountain goats, moose and scenic views. Unfortunately, the weather did not permit a view of Mt Denali. The 13 hour bus journey felt a little too long. However, for the price, it's a day well spent :)

We visited this park on a bus tour and it was beautiful. Amazing how big it is and would recommend it to anyone in the area. Bus tour is a great way to see a large area but this place would also be great for some day hiking and camping.
