Denali National Park and Preserve has so much to offer. We camped at the Wonder Lake campground for two nights. The ride to/from the campground was so enjoyable, including dynamic, breath taking scenery and sightings of wild animals. During our ride, we saw a red fox, a brown bear, a herd of caribou, a golden eagle, and lots of rabbits and ground squirrels. Even though the bus ride is almost 5.5 hours, we never got bored. We were also lucky to see Mt. Denali while we were camping. Two storms pushed away the smoke, and we woke up to a view of the Alaska range, from east to west. There is only one established trail in the Wonder Lake area, McKinley bar trail. It is a relatively flat 4.8 mile round trip trail, and you will walk through the tundra to taiga and reaches the river. There are blue berries along the way, too.
Even though we got rained on multiple times, we had a great time. I recommend staying at least 2 nights to explore different areas of the park. Our 3 nights stay was not enough, and we will come back again to explore some more.
