I have done coin business with this company in the last year and I have found them to be honest,reliable, and complete gentlemen.

We recently worked with Ashley A. on an anniversary band for our tenth anniversary. Not only did the ring come out exactly- if not better than we hoped- but the entire process was amazing. Ashley was patient and helpful as we changed the design at least once. She offered great suggestions so we would be sure to have a piece that would last. She worked within our budget and was wonderful with communication. We will absolutely be back and so appreciate the hard work and professionalism of the entire staff.

We bought my engagement ring here, which I had my grandmothers solitaire diamond set into...beautiful setting and they had such a wide selection to choose from at a GREAT price. Cost me less than half of what it would have cost me at another big name jeweler down the road. We also just picked out our wedding bands, the same great prices and help. They are so helpful and so fair on their pricing. I will not go anywhere else in Erie for jewelry. I am having a custom piece made for my grandmother, fair price on that as well.

Five stars fall short for the Dempsey Family and their Associates. Each person entering their store is treated with respect. You may have just a silver dime to sell or purchasing the most expensive item in the the beautiful showroom, your going to receive personal attention. Each time I've left the store I've felt like I've been treated like royalty. We are lucky to have this world renowned business here in North Western Pennsylvania.
As a side note you all have a special place in my heart for how you have cared for our mutual friend Bobby. I believe your treatment of him deserves a extra reward in Heaven. You make him feel important and respected well you make everyone feel important and respected but Dear Bobby you've treated like a special family member. God Bless you and your business.

I have bought and sold silver and gold from a number of shops in Erie County, Dempsey and Baxter is the ONLY place in the county that is honest and transparent. I've been to other shops selling pre-1965 silver coins and was quoted a price per $1 of face value. When I asked how much that was per ounce, the same price was repeated - and this was a shop where I had been buying silver coins for over 2 years; the owner brought in a new coin guy. I've never experienced this with Jack and company. They don't try to play games, and hide their margins behind trickery. They also attempt to educate their customers, knowing that a educated consumer will NEVER go anywhere else.

Great people to deal with and very fair on prices. I've done several deals with them and been very happy.

Honestly can't say enough about Dempsey & Baxter! I have been a regular customer for years, and, though I don't spend much, I have always been treated very fairly, and with the utmost respect. I feel a friendship with both Chris and Jaime, much more than just a customer relationship. Always fair, completely honest, and ready to give the best prices with no haggling. I cannot think of anyone I would rather deal with.

Hands down the best place to buy/sell coins in the area. Jack and his sons have always been very polite, respectful, and helpful in all regards. They and their staff are also very patient - there are times I sit there and look at coins for upwards of 2 hours, and instead of pushing me out or getting irritated, most of the time I am given more to look at before I am even done looking at the last group of coins they brought out. In addition to all this, they also have very fair prices. When they are not overly busy, often times you will have to opportunity to chat and/or over-hear some interesting stories... a lot to learn from these pros of the business! Never a dull moment at this store, and I would highly recommend to anyone.

PS: The coin inventory is usually not lacking, unless their is a larger show going on that they set up at; hence me sitting for easily 90 minutes... I could sit there all day if I could.

Beautiful setup!!! I love jewelry, coins, rare sets of rings. Unique necklaces. Pays the highest on gold and silver. I like the staff. Very friendly, informative, and COVID SAFE. From greeting at the door, someone assists you with sanitizer every time. This place takes the most caution in health, out of other business's I've been in!!!

Excllent service! Caters to your needs and is not pushy. Quality is the #1 goal. Drove 2.5hrs to buy a ring because I know I am going to get a top rate diamond at a cost thatbiant inflated like most jewelry stores.

We have entrusted Dempsey and Baxter with a couple pieces of family heirloom jewelry over the last three years. The first of which was a diamond ring that we wanted to remove the diamond and put it into another vintage setting. Out of their vault Jack produced a vintage art deco setting that was absolutely amazing! We had been looking for sometime locally and via the internet and had found NOTHING like this piece. They then professionally handled moving the diamond over to the new setting and making the needed alterations. This ring became my wife's wedding ring and it is truly a beautiful piece.

Most recently we again came into the store looking to repair a bracelet that has been in the family since around 1900. It required not just repair but the replacement of a couple of gems. These gems in the needed cut and size were not readily available. Jack, along with Jessica sat down with me and discussed the repairs and options to source the gems. They searched in house and then searched other vendors of vintage stones in order to track down what we needed. Jack completed the needed repairs beautifully and the turnaround time was fast considering all that needed to be found and done. My wife can now for the first time in her life wear her grandmother's bracelet and it looks stunning!

During all of this Jessica called and kept me up to date on the search and progress, while Jack was great at taking the time to explain all that needed done and ultimately completing the repairs. In a world where so many businesses no longer take pride in their work, Dempsey and Baxter stand out from the crowd. They have EARNED our family's trust and we will continue to take our business there and recommend them to others.

This place is the best. I just found this business recently and I've been going there 2-3 times a week ever since. Chris gives you the most fair offer you will get, and that's including at least 10 other spots I've sold gold and silver coins and bullion to, locally - - they offer the most. I've never once even had to haggle or negotiate. I have a number in my head and when I go in - that number is either met or surpassed. Besides that Chris, Ashley, and the other staff are very friendly and welcoming and the store is always well merchandised with clean and organized display cases. I was very impressed. It took me some effort to find them online, they usually werent prevailant in the search results for western PA/NY but once I did and made my first trip... I knew I would be a long term customer. I would definitely recommend them, honestly.

Absolute excellent service!! Jack was completely professional and thorough when going over my wedding ring. He told me exactly what he was going to fix it, the main diamond was loose and prongs were wearing. He said about 2 weeks for service but he called us today and it's only been two days since we dropped it off . It looks gorgeous.

Def would not recommend buying or selling any gold or silver!!! There prices are ridiculous to buy either buy from monex or any big company to get a actual fair price I just paid 15.80 per oz. n they wanted about 18$ seriously!!! And also selling your gold or silver you will get ripped

I started looking for a Jeweler to custom make an engagement ring back in early July. I submitted my email through the website and was contacted that evening saying that they could absolutely make what I wanted. I started emailing and talking with Stephanie Motsch. After several good conversations back and forth about what I was looking for and what they could provide, she had me come in and view the stones and ring options. Because we were looking for 3 morganite (Light pink in color) stones, it took Stephanie some time to nail down a good vender. However, when she showed me the stones and ring combined, I was blown away. They are very professional and accommodating. I was pleased with the overall experience and they also met my deadline. This was my first visit to Dempsey & Baxter. All of the staff were very welcoming and helpful. I worked mostly with Leslie to get a coin collection appraised and sold. She was very knowledgeable. She took the time to explain what the coins were and how their value was determined. I appreciated her professionalism and there was absolutely no pressure to sell. Jack and his staff are just wonderful. I've purchased several pieces of jewelry over the years (going back to East 38th!). It has always been a great deal and great jewelry.

Recently my sons have taken up coin collecting and Jack has been a great teacher with both of them. He spends time with them, educates them, and always gives them a "coin story" they listen to with wide eyes. It has been so refreshing for my wife and I to see them with their coin rolls from the bank. They spend several hours "unplugged" and not in front of the TV. Jack has really gotten them excited about their finds and they can't wait to take them in and show him. He always greets them with a smile and excitement.

Bought an engagement ring here. Took hours to figure out what I wanted. With the help of Jessica, I was able to custom make a ring. The band, setting, and diamond were all selected individually. Great selection of bands, settings, and a TON of diamonds. Got to really see the difference of the diamonds with different cuts, clarity, carat, etc. Treated well and appreciate the service and how patient Jessica was. Really took her time explaining everything to me and making sure I got exactly what I (and my fiance) wanted. Pinterest and pictures helped guide the process.

Also had the ring resized when we were in town for just a week. Quick turn around times if you let them know.

We ended up ordering both our wedding bands here. Again, Great service. Rings came in quickly. Would buy here again!

I can t tell you enough how grateful I am to Dempsey and Baxter for helping me with an antique pearl necklace I have of my mother s!! I was in the market to buy some gold coins and was just starting to collect and invest. Dempsey & Baxter had a large selection of gold coins and due to the pricing of gold there was no stick with the asking price so I asked one of the associates who was helping me. I asked the associate for prices of two gold coins but when I asked the price of the third coin the associate told me that she can't keep asking one of the guys in charge for prices. Needless to say I did not buy a gold coin that day.

We took in coins and some jewelry from my father s estate. The staff at the store went over everything and explained the process of preparing an appraisal and our option to sell. The appraisal/offer was prepared quickly, but no pressure of any kind was applied for us to make a decision. When we decided to sell, I believe we were treated fairly. The service was courteous, prompt and very professional.

I recently sold my silver coin collection to Dempsey and Baxter. This is a first class business. We were met at the door by a lady who provided us with masks and hand sanitizer. We were then directed to an associate who reviewed my collection, counted it and provided us with an estimate and then a check. The store is immaculate, and the staff professional. They also sell coins and jewelry. I would DEFINITELY recommend this store to anyone who is looking to buy or sell coins or jewelry.
PS when we told the associate that we were going to have lunch at a local restaurant another associate provided us with her own personal coupons!
