I have bought and sold silver and gold from a number of shops in Erie County, Dempsey and Baxter is the ONLY place in the county that is honest and transparent. I've been to other shops selling pre-1965 silver coins and was quoted a price per $1 of face value. When I asked how much that was per ounce, the same price was repeated - and this was a shop where I had been buying silver coins for over 2 years; the owner brought in a new coin guy. I've never experienced this with Jack and company. They don't try to play games, and hide their margins behind trickery. They also attempt to educate their customers, knowing that a educated consumer will NEVER go anywhere else.
