Hotel is very nice looking overall. Rooms are large and clean, and staff is friendly. My problem with the hotel is that it's not sound-proof. At all. And unfortunately this lack of soundproofing means the rooms are noisy. You can hear word for word any conversations that are held in the hallway or next room over. You can hear neighbors using the bathroom. You can hear the elevator ding down the hall. If you're a light sleeper, these are far from ideal circumstances and ear plugs WILL be necessary.

I loved the Delta lodge because the lady who checked us and gave us hot chocolate and cookies to our Loft room. I also love our Loft room it had so much space my mom had her work space while me and my sister were sleeping,( I Loft room was a free upgrade which my family loved). Just goes to show how amazing and kind some hotels can be.

I visited Sunday Jan 27th and had a great time at the spa, then I was bought a spa package as my 50th birthday present from my kids and a friend and visited last weekend again. I was really excited to come back. Unfortunately the hotel is centralized heating and despite everyone seeing the weather forecast the temperature was not turned up. The hotel was so cold we wore the housecoats provided over our clothes just to sit in the room and had to ask for extra duvets at night. When we had been in the spa then visited the bistro upstairs that too was so cold we had to leave and get back to our rooms. During the night the sprinkle system froze and the fire alarms woke us, twice, around 3:30am. The next morning we headed to the forte restatement for breakfast, again it was freezing with many guests wearing coats and hats like us, I couldn t eat my breakfast before it went cold in the plate. The lobby areas and walk ways to the elevator we re freezing cold also. It s really disappointing that a luxury hotel is so cold, the centralized heating needed cranking up to look after the guests. We did mention it to the staff as we checked out, but they re not to blame the hotel management is. The staff did the best they could but my birthday present was ruined, I was warmer outside in the pools than I was at any point on the hotel. I d suggest anyone visiting in the winter takes their own room heater and thermal underwear.

We recently stayed here this weekend while taking advantage of the Nordic Spa. The hotel was very nice, staff were super friendly, and onsite restaurant (Forte) was great. My complaint would be that the room did not have adequate sound proofing from the hallway. All you could hear while you were inside was the running and yelling of young children in the hallways, very distracting and not worth it when you came for a weekend getaway. Judging by the crowd in the lobby and the restaurant it seems there were a lot of families that weekend, which is fine. It would've been nice perhaps if they organized families with younger children on one floor or one section.

Other than that, very nice stay.

*EDIT: Forgot to mention: the heating was also down and they only offered centralized heating for the weekend. Unfortunate for the price paid for the room.

I stayed in 1993 and 2006. This resort hotel is located in the center of Kananaskis Country, an area for recreation. It is not a high-rise building but a building that matches in nature. The rooms are large, with large windows, and when I opened the curtains in the morning, I felt as if I were in the woods. As location is not city area, shop in hotel was substantial instead. However, the food at the restaurant at that time was disappointing, as it was roughly tasteful and served. It is the highest rating if you can offer delicious food now.

Sorry for only 3 stars, but with paying as much as one does, a run down courtyard with paint and boards falling off, no A/C in rooms, and rooms showing their age... How much does a few new boards and a can of paint cost? with boards rotted completely out, it has clearly been this way for years. That being said, nice little resort in the Canadian Rockies with Golf, hiking, skiing, mountain biking all close by.

Stayed in a famity suite and it was perfect for our family of 2 adults and two children under 3. The pool and hot tub are wonderful, the hot tub is a large indoor/outdoor one and the swimming pool is very large. All restaurants on site have a kids eat free program for kids under 6 and 50% off for kids under 12. So nice to see a place like this be so family friendly. Very nice staff all around. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.

It was a wonderful experience. I came here to celebrate my 19th anniversary with my wife. We stayed in a suite which was newly renovated and was very modern and comfortable. We had amazing massages at the Summit spa. Dinner was amazing at Forte. Sad to see this vacay come to an end. We can't wait to come back and see the completed renovations.

We have visited this resort for work and play for the last 8 years. Love stopping in at the lobby bar for a bite following a hike nearby or after soaking at the Nordic Spa. I am in the wedding industry and have been in many rooms, lofts and suites over the years and applaud the Pomeroy on their wonderful renos to create a trendy and ambiant vibe. That Lobby Bar is a fave!! Lost count how many lunches weve had there.

Bellmen, concierge and front desk always helpful and courteous with doors and helping you navigate not just hotel but surrounding area.

We finally stayed an evening since renos and as our room was cute, spacious, clean, stocked and very homey however we were rather surprised on how much noise from other rooms across the hall and in the hall you could still hear! 10pm maintenance was fixing wall trim down the hall to us and another hotel guest witnessed the maintenance. We did phone front desk and it wrapped up quickly but from then on you could hear a toddler crying across the way and then random ppl laughing to someones alarm clock going off for 15mins at 6am! It was an interesting and exhausting evening.

At checkout before we hit the Nordic we did politely bring up the noise and we were given an apology but soon ran into our neighbour who said they got a discount for the noise, so we went back to front desk in which they honored us a discount. Keep in mind we were rather friendly about everything and will consider staying the night again as we are impressed with the new look, vibe and environment of the Pomeroy.

We did purchase the Stay and Spa pckg and feel there could be a better system or communication for that as well. We stood in line at Nordic Spa to check in but found out as we are hotel guests we need to use the hotel facilities and lockers to stow items so found ourselves walking back, downstairs then come back up LOL. For relaxing it felt like a hike however we will be back. Always a pleasure coming out here.
Good job Pomeroy!

The Kananaskis lodge has taken a turn for the wors...

The Kananaskis lodge has taken a turn for the worse with the most recent change to a Marriott Hotel. At check in we had to navigate through buckets of water as the ceiling above dripped a foul water. We then discovered that the prices at all the restaurants and bars had been raised. Shortly after we retired to the room we discovered that the big HD TV only had 30 channels none of which were HD. As well that they had disabled the smart functions and eliminated the in room movie rental services. We then slept on what can only be described as the perfect mix of too hard and yet to soft a bed to get comfy on. This would be the kind of bed I would expect out of a super 8 not a 600$ a night lodge.
The issues continue. Our rooms heating system was a small desktop AC heater . The rooms system out of order. Then we check the bathroom that only had one issue , a toilet seat that refused to stay in the upright position. We then go to the hot tub on our final morning at the lodge and low and behold, the hot tub that only 12 hours before had been hot is now a luke warm bath tub. So we try the steam room, nope that's not on and will take an hour to heat up.
All I can say is save your money. This lodge has location and good food. Other than that they have alot of refining to do before the 600$ a night price tag becomes reasonable.

Background, my family and I have been coming to the lodge at Kananaskis since 1995 and up until this year we had had incredible memories of it.

Attended a wedding at the Kananaskis Mountain Lodge and had a great time. I had not been to the hotel since it was rebranded from Delta; I was impressed with the renovations on the common areas of the hotel. The event staff were courteous and helpful, the two wait staff assigned to our table introduced themselves (which I have never had during a wedding dinner service) and were courteous and available throughout the food service. While we were at the hotel my wife and I heard about the Nordic Spa they are building at the hotel, we will definitely be following up and possibly booking a stay so we can try out this unique spa.

The coffee shop was very unsatisfactory. After eating lunch there (a sandwich and coffee for myself and my husband for $60 plus a tip!) I had an very upset stomach caused by the old meat used which tasted off so I left most of it. My husband took all the meat out of his sandwich, just eating the bread. He fared much better. I begrudge the tip that was requested because the customer service provided was absolutely minimal.

Magnificent facilities and grounds. One star less because they didn't inform us that they were renovating when we booked. Our room was literally bin the middle of a construction site, they worked 7-9.

I ll start with the good stuff, the bed was really soft and relaxing. The sofa bed is great, the TV looks new. The room is very good.
Here s the other stuff, the lights a bit dim, and the air conditioning didn t seem to work. The internet only works on one side of the room, and on the side it does work it s so slow. Also somehow my phone can detect a phone on another floor, but can t detect the tv like half a meter away.
But don t get me wrong. It wasn t all bad. The balcony has a great view, and the sofa-bed is very relaxing. I had a lot of fun. And also a great time. Just a few issues to deal with.

Our stay at Pomeroy Kananaskis was sensational! Service was above and beyond. We felt welcome and appreciated. The venue, scenery and surroundings are so rejuvenating. The Nordic spa was a world class experience, one of the best massages I have ever received ( thank you BJ Denis). I don't want to forgot to mention that the food was so delicious with incredible presentation. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience for our couples retreat weekend! Part of our memorable event was the service from Kananaskis Outfitters and the Kananaskis golf course. All were a class act. Thank you. We are looking forward to our next visit already!

This is a review for Mount Kidd Manor. This is quite possibly the worst hotel experience I have had in 20 years. The rooms are extremely dated, there is inadequate heat, the TV was not working for most of the stay and the WiFi is intermittent at best. The staff have been fine but really this hotel is in serious need of reno. I am not alone in this situation as there are other guests who I've spoken with who are also in rooms that max out at 15 degrees Celsius with the same TV and WiFi issues. The only thing saving this experience at all is I'm at a conference so minimal time is spent in the room.

I had the opportunity to stay with a friend at the Lodge for a night. It was a great experience! The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the grounds were spectacular. The wood-fired pizza at Forte is a must-try, as are the incredible cocktails. The service was great (thank you Sam!). I would highly recommend staying here if you're spending some time in Kananaskis.

Excellent spa experience! Enjoyed all the mineral pools. Good place to get away to relax. Family area with waterslides too. Nice lounge and steak restaurant. If you want to get away and have a spa day in the mountains, I would highly recommend this resort and spa. Book message treatments a couple months in advance if you want one with your mineral pool experience!!

Expensive rooms ($350/night), that are of mediocre quality. It feels like they did a superficial upgrade to the old rooms and then hiked up the price. The surrounding paths and grounds are wonderful, but the hotel itself is not worth the price.

Great location. Not quite up to normal Marriott standards. Fully booked, but no upscale restaurant open. Late night bar still closed. Pool area is renovated and clean. Staff was great. Lots of kids and dogs running around. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Overall a nice trip. Views and location is a 5/5.

I have never been more disappointed in a hotel sta...

I have never been more disappointed in a hotel stay and it began before we checked in. I made a reservation at the private room at The Cedar Room months before we checked in only to discover 2 weeks before that it was double booked. I only realized this when I was out there for the day and went in to check it out and asked to confirm the time of our reservation and I was asked if I was Crystal... when I said no Kirsten - they found my name and told me the time but still didn't clock the room was double booked. I called the next day bc I had a sneaking suspicion something was up and only then was it discovered the room had been sold by the sales team a long time before I booked it. I did speak to the F&B manager eventually who apologized. Mistakes happen and it sounds like there was a training opportunity as the person who booked me the room was not actually in a position too. I had to book the private room at the golf course for that night and the hotel didn't really offer to solve the problem nor did Kyle really do anything to rectify the situation.

Unrelated, I called and asked for the concierge, I inquired about booking the look out points. I was told you CAN'T book the look out sites which is incorrect. You can absolutely book them - just not through the hotel but through the parks. Surely the person working concierge should know this? We paid for a photographer for a particular window of time and wanted to use a look out and learned ourselves the lookout was booked by another party (again we had to solve it not the hotel).

When we checked in (5 rooms for 2 and 3 nights) there were so many errors on the block and who's cc was attached to who's email which we had cleared up when we checked out.

I asked at the concierge deskon Saturday for 4 champagne flutes and an extra ice bucket to be delivered to our room. I called an hour later and they said it was on its way. It never came.

2 of our 5 rooms were not cleaned on Saturday.

I understand the Nordic Spa is likely privately owned but to not have some sort of discount for hotel clients seems unreasonable. We go to Scandinave in Whistler (which is not under construction) and they also charge $70 and even though it's not even attached to any hotel - they have preferred hotel partner and pricing. There might be nothing you can even do about this but it seems ridiculous to ask your guests to pay full price for an amenity on property.

We had something delivered to the hotel from Calgary which was misplaced and I waited 25 mins on Saturday while they looked all over the property for it - which made me late for the reservation I HAD TO MOVE from cedar room to the golf club.

I asked to speak to the GM when I left and he was not available so I spoke with a supervisor and left my name and number. No one called. I then emailed this to the GM and didn t even get a response.

I would never return and will spend my money elsewhere as there are many choices in the Rockies.
