Kansas Rocks Recreation Park Reviews

Great park for all skill levels about 2 hours south of my house. All trails are well maintained and it s pretty cool seeing signs up representing what clubs maintain them. Whether you re a trail rider, rock climber or mud lover they ve got something for everyone. Not a huge park but definitely a full day worth of riding and the entry fee isn t an arm and a leg so that s always a positive. Park staff is crazy friendly and their four legged companion will greet you with a wagging tail when you enter/exit the park! Definitely a five star experience. We ll be back for sure!

I awesome family oriented place Park is run by all volunteer and donations and they do an awesome job number one Gold as safety put on awesome events trails are clearly marked and they're awesome you must go check it out

Worth the drive and cost of daily admission. (I am considering an annual pass). There is quite a lot of variety in the trails so almost any rig can make it around here. If you're looking for mud-holes this is not for you, but definitely plenty of trails for rock crawling. Look at their map on the website to see how huge the place is.

Awesome place to go if you are into offroading. I really enjoyed the park and will ne back.

Some of the trail markers could need some help. Got lost quite a lot.

I attended a wedding held here. The staff was very accommodating and helped in ways they weren't even ask. Something you don't find everywhere anymore.

The place is awesome. I had a blast with my bone stock jeep Rubicon. Plan on going back when I get a chance.

Great offroad park! Lots of trails in all difficulty levels, plenty of amenities, good website, and friendly staff. Will be wheeling here often!

Fun Trails for all levels, reasonable cost and close to Kansas City. Great place to hold an outdoor event!

We had a great weekend at this park. Rv camping is now ready. Only electric available, but they do have nice restrooms and showers.

If you're looking for some good trails, this is the place.

Was muddy when I went, not a good time to go, you pick a line but it's so slick you slide off track, will definitely go back when it's dry

Love this place recommended to have good suspension and required to have a 4x4 to actually go into the forest

I love this place, would give 5 stars if they ever incorporate a camping area. it's a long drive just for one day

Always a fun place to spend a weekend! They have some easy trails and some very challenging trails! Take a Subaru outback (saw one when we where there) or a rock buggy and you'll have a blast!

Great people a great Park I wish they had a little better cell phone service but that is not their fault I had a great time I highly recommend it

KS Rocks is one of the best parks in the area. It's still a long drive from KC, but they have really nice facilities, map and trail markings, and great trails!

Pretty neat place. Probably even better when its a little less slimy & muddy! Look forward to going back.

Ive been here a handfull of times. Discovered this place last fall and made my maiden voyage here memorial weekend of 2016 with a buddy. I have so much fun here, ive been to the Crawl for Downsyndrom and am preregistered for the upcoming Kansas Krawl. And am going to get pre reg for Creepy Crawl. Love this place. Next summer im getting an annual pass for sure.

Staff was kind and helpful, didn't even get to 25% of the trails in 3hrs... Gonna go back for sure

I love this place. The guys that work at the office are friendly and willing to help with whatever you may need. I really enjoy taking newbies out and exploring the trails. Great facility for family fun. Do yourself a favor and buy the GPS enabled map, it's the best and easiest way to find your way around the park.

After reaching out to the staff yesterday and confirming that the park would be open, my friends and I made the two hour trek to go ride and check the place out. After we arrived, the staff was extremely rude and let us know they were closing down and that we could not ride. This was a waste of time, gas and a Saturday. The staff was rude and absolutely wasted my time after previously confirming they were open. Zero stars. We will not be back.

they close at 2:00 on Sundays not 5:00 would not recommend to anyone

Black diamond trails to green circle, great for every ride , and I enjoy watching the rock crawlers, oh and the creek run is awesome!!!

This is the closest off road park to the Kansas City metro area. Basically an hour drive from the southern side. Lots of variety of trails and they are well maintained. We did the 101 course, I certainly learned some things, but a lot of review and clarification for some. Will definitely be headed back with the kids soon.

Rode mountain bikes here and it was a blast. Will be back again.

Great place to find trails at your own comfort level...Always a fun place to ride! Also, some amazing shower houses and facilities!

If you like going off road this is a fun park to visit. Just watch for the mud pits.

Attended the Offroad 101 class with my boys. Had a great time! Definitely worth the drive.

Took the Off-road 101 course and learned a lot and had a blast.

Very muddy today. Nice facilities. Although alittle costly for a 1 day trail outing. Not sure why it needs to be so high. Had a good time tho!

If you're looking to get muddy and ride over some rocky slopes & hills to test them driving skills and have fun.. this is the place to go. Full of trails with various rigour and pathes to choose from, the wooded area can be quite the time of ups and downs.

Loved the cabins, wasn't expecting wifi and we had it! Over all the wheeling was great, the staff was super friendly, and I will be back !

It's so nice to have an off-road park in this area. They keep it well kept and the staff are very helpful and friendly. They just added a new addition so the park is bigger than ever! All the trails are marked so if you know your skill level then you can safely stay away from the more difficult routes. This is going to sound weird, but the out houses are the nicest out houses I've ever seen! Plenty of parking for your truck and trailer if you pulled your rig and they host great events out there every year.

Really enjoyed the trails. They are well marked. Staff was nice. Really like the downloadable map.

Great day. Great staff. Loads of for beginners and intermediate. Trails also for advanced and purpose built rigs.

Plenty of fun to be had, a little small but you can easily spend the day here

These folks love to eat! Served up BBQ and such today for them from The BBQ SHACK Food Truck. Lookin foward to next time down! Maybe we could bribe someone for a trek thru the park? The food truck doesn't have 4 wheel drive!

Great place, I'd say some of the trails need to have their values readjusted. Some greens are blues now etc...

Also, apparently I was the talk of a town for a bit as I drove my stock trail boss through some of the paths. I drove one of the hills that was nothing but loose rocks with a hard lip at the top. I forget the name of the hill.

I drove straight up and got over with no issues. All about that wheel placement and angles.

The funniest moment was when I was going back down and I saw a guy and his family come up the hill and then they become confused as to how I got up here. They were pretty much just staring at me. It was great.

I smiled and drove back down, one of the kids runs to the edge as I'm driving down and I hear them yell "yeah, he made it." Lol.

The only thing that really stopped me from doing more was the width of my truck.

All in all, the staff was friendly. Good camping spot, too.
