This place is unique and cozy... 1st date or anniversary kind of place!
If you haven't been there for years, you need to visit and have lunch there again.
Had a great time! Only down side was that we couldn't find the thermostat and froze our butts off over night.
The location is great, though the prices are a bit too high for the lack of activities surrounding the area.
Unique. In a cool spot and rooms felt cozy though very small.
We went there to attend my daughter's musical in the theater. It was a nice intimate setting. We went to the bar for drinks and they were nice and strong.
Enjoyed my stay and especially staff. I was traveling alone and felt staff bend over backwards to meet my needs and make me feel comfortable.
Immaculate old style boat beauty. Just lovely. An experience like no other.
Cool alternative to the typical hotel. Enjoyed our stay. It is an older venue so dont expect high end treatment. Plenty of hot water but really low pressure. Enjoyed a happy hour on deck at the bar.
Coldest night of my life in California as the bedroom had no heater and the blanket was thin. Otherwise I loved how authentics the room, bathroom and living room are. Service was good.
The free brealfast included is 2 eggs any style + sausage or ham or bacon + potatoes + juice + coffee or tea + (really bad) muffin.
I live the place very much. The food is really good for the price and the scenic view is perfect. The waiting staff was also very good too. Always asking us what we need andaking sure our drinks were never empty.
We came to the Delta King, as a "Friend" :) of ours hosted a business conference on the boat. We weren't able to stay at the hotel itself, as it was completely booked that weekend. However, the ambiance of the venue was very classy and authentic. The conference room was pretty good. However, the WiFi access was really bad, which is our only complaint. We did enjoy some food and beverage in one of the many places to eat and drink here. Both the food and beverage were of high caliber. It definitely has a rustic feel to it, and you get that historical sense of the area. It's nice being on the waterfront and having so many places to visit within walking distance in Old Sacramento!
Good service, good quality, sooo nice place, many things to do in the area, very good food, I give it 5 stars since everything I loved, for a special occasion or just to have a good time and get out of the routine .
My friend had a wedding on the boat. I have lived in Sacramento my entire life and have never been on the delta king until now It was BEAUTIFUL. I will be back to go to the bar with friends. One of my friends did get a hotel room there. The rooms are small but it IS a boat after all. The Rooms are clean and cozy. If I wasn't a local resident already I would absolutely be staying there whenever I was in Sacramento.
The Delta King Hotel is at a beautiful location in old Sac. Right on the water. The interior decor was wonderful. I'll definitely visit again
Easy check in right In the heart of old town Sacramento
Went for after dinner drinks and dessert. Both were excellent. Lots of great choices. Server did a great job of pairing a dessert wine with my dessert selection. We got a table out on the deck with a perfect view of tower bridge, the sunset and river. Solid date night spot.
We waited 15 minutes after seating without water, menu, or a visit from the waiter.
We we walked out the manager asked if everything was all right, we said no and she said she was sorry.
People around were also looking like it was taking too much time.
I do not recommend even if the outdoor seating is nice.
Exceptional views of the River on the west side of the King Hotel as well as scenic view of old style Sacramento know as Historic- Old Sacramento.
A fine old river boat turned into a hotel. It provides a quaint experience that is pretty cool near "old town" Sacramento. There are a great selection of eateries from desserts and sweets, to fast and functional, to elegant within walking distance of the hotel. Lots of fun bars are close too. It is within walking distance of the Railroad Museum, which is a "must see" even if you are not into trains.
However, rooms on the upper two decks are accessible via stairs only.
I enjoyed my stay immensely, but it is not for you if you want all modern amenities, are put off by slight imperfections, need full height/width doors, or want a large bathroom with walkin shower, etc.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant had excellent breakfasts.
Nice looking place and we're considering getting a room here in the future!
Server was very attentive and made sure we had an enjoyable meal.
We have reservation for 5pm but we have to wait another 45 minutes to be seated. The food is outstanding and so are the guest services in the restaurant.
We stayed there as my grandaughter got married in the vessel, staff were very helpful and accommodating, would definently stay again
Fun and unique bar on the river. We had excellent service and good bar food.
Great location and beautiful boat. Small rooms but that's to be expected. Loved it!
We stayed Friday and Saturday night. Breakfast was included with our room. We were surprised that it was a full satisfying sit down meal in the restaurant. I am vegan and was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to use the included meal, but the servers were happy to accommodate my special request at no additional cost. I was able to enjoy sauteed veggies, potatoes and a side of fruit instead of bacon and eggs. All of the stuff we encountered were very professional and courteous. The turn down service made for a nice touch to the experience. The only downside to the stay was that there was a lot of noise outside the room from doors closing and people walking around, BUT it is to be expected since it is a historical structure and is easily remedied with ear plugs. We definitely look forward to staying again. The price felt appropriate for the service we received, especially compared to other regular hotels that cost the same in downtown but don't offer the little extras that are included here.
3rd floor, river room. Small but very good location.
It was great! Always wanted to stay aboard the Delta King. The staff were great. The room was clean. The food was fantastic! It was like stepping back in time and I loved every part of our stay.
Rooms are slanted and beds are small. Kitsch eclectic fun place though.
Several years ago we attended the performance and left with sore muscles in our abdomens from laughter. The event was held in the rear of the boat looking out at the paddle wheel. The atmosphere was elegant, food quite adequate and show was wonderful.
This show was good, it was held down in what appeared to be the bowels of the boat with no windows or view and the food was acceptable.
Enjoyed the restaurant deck over looking the river.
One of our favorite places to stay and drink while looking out over the river.
A taste of Sacramento history alive. Nice restaurant and hotel seems like a boat or that era enthusiasts dream come true. For everyone else its rather accurate and a fun learning experience. Plus the immediate vicinity is full of stuff to do.
Really cool place, right on the river. Good views and food. Good bar and appetizers. Nice outdoor seating. They also have fun events. Me and my wife went there for new years the last 2 years and had a great time.
Maybe it was bad timing? We had a waitress who was "New York" rude and dinner took over two and a half hours. Our drinks didn't even come for 30 minutes and we were next to the bar. For that kind of money go to the Firehouse.
We loved the experience of dining and spending time in the bar. It was like taking a trip back in time.
This hotel was fabulous the staff and room and food. All great can't wait to come back. Kristi Stieger
Nice place to stay, but a bit warm in the room. Friendly staff and great breakfast.
It was a bit dusty but the staff was wonderful and very accommodating for my children there service was quick the restroom was Clean und a little outdated the venue all in allwas great
Murder mystery lunch for a work event. The show was great... Had a large group so the story was geared towards our group, the personalization made it special. Drinks were ok... First one was good, 2nd one was a little weak/watered down. Switched to beer after that. Not sure on the price so can't speak to value, but food was just ok...
REALLY cool atmosphere! You are sleeping on the river in a boat! Even if you are not going to stay, it is a fun visit!
My wife and I enjoyed the history and look of the boat, but breakfast service was a bit lacking. Despite the lack of a crowd, it took the staff about 8 minutes to get plates for the buffet, and another ten minutes to refill the eggs. I don't know if it was because of the construction on the above restaurant that was causing the delays, but it was unacceptable. We would stay there again because of the proximity to old Sac.
Lots of construction in Old Town makes valet here difficult. Room was nice and clean but cozy. (I am 6ft tall) My bathroom door did not open all the way as it would hit the bed. I was in a room across from the lobby. If you are not a sound sleeper I recommend requesting another floor as the walls are very thin. There was an argument in the middle of the night that was so loud it woke me up and kept me up for awhile. I could also hear my neighbors...The bar and restaurant are nice, service is good and so is the food. This was my second stay and honestly I don't plan on returning on my next visit to Sacramento.
Fantastic place to stay amazing views. Simple details you will not see anywhere else such as stain glass windows with hand painted panels in the lounge. One of the best views of the tower bridge possible. The only hotel on the water in Old Sacramento. Close to everything you could possibly need. Vallet parking available as well.
I went to the Hotel Delta King just as a meet up spot to meet with friends and stayed on board to relax by the river. On the upper decks (4th and 5th) there is seating where you can relax, a bar on the 4th deck where you can order food as well. The ship comes to life at night when all the tourist and kids leave and is a more chill environment.
Went for drinks at the bar, was really hot inside. Outdoor seating is better.
The Murder Mystery dinner theater package was a great deal. The room was clean and a good size. The theater performance was outstanding! The dinner provided was delicious.
I have been wanting to dine at The Delta King restaurant for awhile now. Finally did, had breakfast there today. Very nice decor, very nice. My omelet was excellent, one of the better omelet I have had. Service was quick and very pleasant. The Delta King is located on the Sacramento River, at Old Sacramento
My new bride & I stayed the weekend after our wedding night as a gift from my parents. We had a package to see the murder mystery dinner theater & an overnight stay. The food, drinks, & the show were great! The staff was extremely friendly and they don't have many employees so they lobby staff recalled speaking with me and left me feeling very welcome. Every member of the staff is courteous & friendly.
The rooms are quite small but quaint all the same. we stayed in what we were told was an upgraded room. Honestly, I don't want to see the room we would have had without an upgrade. The furniture & design of the room was very nice. A few complaints: The bedding was very tattered. Not tattered then repaired, but torn and left to tear more. tacky. The shower stall was an experiance all it's own. you get in, shut the curtain and are left in the dark quite literally. some lighting in there would have been nice. In addition to the dark, I was nearly assaulted by the shower head which looked and felt like it hadn't seen a cleaning tool or bottle of CLR since the ship sank in the san fransisco harbor in 1983. On my way out of the shower I glanced at the A/C vent and found that it was literally caked with dust and grime. That sight left me wondering what the A/C filters looked like.
In conclusion go for the entertainment & the food. Pack your wallet with cash first, but don't stay the night.
Very professional and a great place to eat and historical
We ate in the restaurant out on the patio on the bow of the boat, very good food, service was okay.
Service was a little bit slow for me bartender was busy talking to some guests for a while and then helped us other than that atmosphere is good were nice friendly people would have business meetings here again
Amazing to be on a paddle boat. Next best thing to being on the Mississippi.
Great hotel if you like old hotel/boats witch i do the wood work is outstanding in the bar restaurant and all the inside area.
Food was okay, had the mushroom risotto. Filling and savory but nothing special. Different kind of mushrooms, one of them didnt taste all that great. It was about 90 degrees.outside and their air conditioning was broken but they did go out of their way to set a fan up. However it did not cool the room. Customer service was great. I blame the situation not the people, they did all they could. Great selection of drinks, only a few vegetarian options, other guests enjoyed their food.
What a blast room was a little small but spent most of my time outdoors on the patio the restaurant on the Delta King was amazing
My daughter got married here, was very nice how they had everything set up. The staff was very helpful.
Our entire family had a great time and mostly were treated very well.
The delta king was nice. We went there for the murder mystery dinner. After check in weer were told to head up to the fourth floor for drinks. But it was so packed there wasn't any room so we stayed on the 3rd floor waiting area. We didn't hear the announcement for the show but still made it on time. We sat down at our table and had our drink order taken. It took awhile for our wine glasses to get to the table and the waitress rapt didn't know how to open the bottle if wine. Not really a big deal. The dinner was okay they offered 3 dishes. 1. Beef sirloin served only medium-medium well with mash potatoes and gravy with green beans. 2. Chicken that was dry with mash potatoes and gravy and green beans. 3. Vegetable risotto for the vegetarians. Overall I enjoyed the experience some parts of the show dragged on but not big deal.
The parking fees have increased which I don't like. Delta King has a unique and somewhat adequate space to run small event.
The Lady in the front desk is very rude, and racist, bad experience... ROOM #420
Rooms are slightly small, which you'd expect from a renovated riverboat. The view of the river was lovely and the bar was a pleasant place to unwind.
The food is over priced and not good. I paid $15 for a crab cake appetizer and it only came with two, small patties which were haphazardly made and definitely not worth the expense. Additionally, I ordered the NY Grilled Steak for $27. It was not well made (though it was practically well done even though I ordered medium rare) and only came with a side of dried, starchy fries. This was the second and last chance I'm giving them. Unfortunately, this farm to fork dining experience was definitely manured.
Such a unique place for an overnight stay with an incredible view of the tower bridge. Also close to downtown Sacramento, Golden 1 center and Raley Field.
The place was immaculate. The staff is very friendly. Great view of the bridge.
Totally a unique experience which is what I'm always searching for.
A step back in time only steps from great attractions
Nice place to stay in Old Sac. So close to all restaurants, shops and bars. Rooms were a bit overpriced. Food and drinks were excellent. Front desk was so helpful.
Really cool place but the service was lacking. Not sure why considering it was Labor Day weekend. Our server was professional and trying hard but took a long time to get our food and drinks. Worth it and hopefully the service is better for you.
