Great view and theater for conference. It is actually a boat on the water! Just like a love boat! Would like to get a night with my wife.

It's a boat! You definitely pay a bit of a premium for the fact it's a boat. Extremely central location in old Town Sacramento with free street parking 10pm-10am. The rooms are small since it's a boat and not that special. The breakfast is included normally and pretty decent (served, but eggs and bacon). Not a whole lot of amenities but clean and fairly nice!
I went to one of the murder mystery dinner events and it was super fun! The acting was good and very entertaining. I'd love to go again in the future.
Old paddle large boat docked at the Old Sacramento Historic District.
Being in the #1 tourist destination in downtown Sacramento, it's location is sure people packed.
We were amongst the throngs of tourists milling around and on the Delta King and, although it was fun for us, I am not sure how guests staying there feels.
The Delta King itself is a marvel of old paddle boats.
I would love to stay there maybe a couple of nights and really hit the downtown sights.
Great photo opps.
Absolutely blown away by the services they had in catering food. The dishes offered for breakfast and lunch were nothing less than high class. Clean, organized, delicious food and most importantly- efficient service from the staff. Would definitely recommend venue for any and all professional events!
I'm just going to share the email I sent to the "coordinator" at the Delta King because it sums everything up. I do no recommend this venue.
Hello Katy,
It has taken me quite some time to even begin writing this email. Paul and I were incredibly disappointed with the way our evening went. Had you been there during the event instead of at an appointment, you would have known. Not only did the day start off with my bridesmaids drinking out of dirty glasses from an event the night before, I found most of the services to be incredibly unprofessional. You made comments to my guests about me being 30 minutes late, told both my husband and I that our guests were getting pissed because of how long the pictures were taking and forgot our last name when introducing us. Several of our guests didn't even get the food they ordered because your staff was boxing extra meals to go before everyone was served. We were incredibly fortunate that our cousin and sister-in-law stepped in during your absence and mended what they could. We paid a lot of money to have our big day at your venue and the only good thing that came from our day was that we are now husband and wife. We do not wish to do any future business with the Delta King and will not be recommending the venue to anyone in the future.

My wife and I stayed there for our anniversary Old Town Sacramento is a lot of fun old western
I went here for the suspects mystery dinner. The show was great, I was laughing the majority of the time. I rate this 5 stars because of that, however if you're buying alcohol there, be sure to buy it upstairs before the event. The ones they serves there are tiny and horribly mixed. This doesn't reflect on the show itself though.
We went for my mom's birthday brunch and had a lovely time! Both the drinks and food were great, and you can beat sitting outside on a nice summer morning!
Authentic river boat, moored (no motion so seasickness will not be an issue). Needs to be spruced up a little (minor paint, etc), but fun atmosphere. Walk right off the ship, and wander old town.
We went to the Murder Mystery dinner. It was very enjoyable, lots of comedy and interactive. I would certainly do it again. Boat was beautiful and fun to walk around.
Hadn't been in yeard. It is so great that the quality and atmosphere of this place it still top notch! The food was amazing and served quickly! We had the fish and chips for lunch. Huge servings mind you also! Our waitress was fantastic and the bartender was really great, even though we weren't having drinks. Enjoyable time watching the river flow by and birds flying over!
I can't speak for the waiters who were very approachable and made sure our experience here was superb, but the house manager some old white guy has no sense of hospitality and customer service. Besides his obvious demeanor which held a very obvious sense of detest for most of the customers [me, my friends] he had the nerve to direct me away from the establishment without a single apology or "I'm sorry." Simply because I alone was carrying an item of food from one of the surrounding restaurants. At his age you think he'd have a better sense of experience on how to politely and correctly tell a customer they can not bring outside food in
The restaurant, Pilot House, at the Delta King hotel had amazing service. Very friendly, professional and knew how to talk to their customers courteously. Food was well-received by entire party. Fresh fish with just enough of a portion to fill you up. Waiter and hostess were both charismatic. The atmosphere of being on the boat was very amusing. A great dining experience! It makes me want to come back and try staying a night to experience more.
Excellent service staff, beautiful view and plenty to do around.
Went to celebrate New Year's eve. We opted to go for the dinner/party option. Dinner service was incredibly slow, which for such an event, I can understand. Unfortunately, I actually found a rubber band in my soup which really set the tone for the rest of the meal. Overall, for a relatively expensive meal it wasn't worth it. The party was pretty fun. 20's themed. The raffle prizes at the end of the night were a joke. Would not go again.
Beautiful scenery, spacious, in old town close to shops, restaurants, bars. Great food and drinks
Took a little while to get the food, but it was delicious. Management should hire more people to handle the customer load.
Just went there for dinner and drinks food is really good drinks are not too expensive very small dining area but all in all had a great experience love being in Old Sacramento love being on the water
Historic, but run down. Banquet room below average.
First time traveling to Sacramento and Delta King is an extremely outstanding hotel!!! The rooms look really fabulous/clean and the beds are super comfortable! The crew are friendly and helpful to you. Parking isn't free folks. A moderate chance to hear train horns because it's right to a train museum. The breakfast is tasteful and delicious! Potatoes, eggs, bacon/sausage/ham and a soft, sweet blueberry muffin. If you go to Sacramento, I strongly recommend this hotel!!
This was a fun experience on a historic ship but it was also a little loud and they don't offer free breakfast to people staying in state rate rooms.
We went to the Suspects Murder Mystery dinner and had a great time! Very entertaining show and the food was good, too. Great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary!
Went there for New Year s Eve 2017 paid for the whole package over $700 and a month later I got a bill for $274 and because it s not during the week they can t resolve it and no one has called us back and we talked to three different people and called every other hour all day long so actually I shouldn t give them one star I should ve just left it as no stars and they say that the bill they re looking into it is for room service from the pilot house which we ate dinner at the pilot house part of our package so watch out they may rip you off
Food was good.
Service was good.
View was grrrreat
We were there for a few drinks before dinner and had a very nice time.
Excellent food, view of the riverfront, and service.
The occasion was a late summer wedding and the atmosphere on the river was perfect for the evening.
Super cute place, cozy beds, nice and clean but our rooms weren't ready when we checked in which was a bummer and they're doing some loud and inconvenient maintenance on the boat.
Great food and scenery. We had 2 toddlers and they worked hard to accommodate as best you can on a river boat. I look forward to going again when we have a sitter.
Visited the Delta King Hotel, but did not stay in the hotel or dine there. The venue was unique and offered a great way to spend time in Old Sacramento. The menu offered a range of enticing entrees at moderate prices. It looked like a great place to enjoy an uncommon experience on the river.
Great Ball Room. staff was friendly. Very clean and organized. Bar is abut tight, but it is a boat.
I felt like the room was sideways. Especially when I hung my coat.
The Delta King's restaurant had a very nice atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.
Delicious fresh drinks and one of the few places that can make an excellent grasshopper.
We went for the mystery dinner, it was a good time.
Rooms are small, yes. You can hear a lot of noise, yes. People forget this riverboat was made in 1927, so the roar of the engine mostly deafened out noises from neighboring rooms. And the rooms were designed to pack in as many people possible, comfortably while trudging up and down the river. The rooms are very rustic and homely, like staying at your grandmothers house. The food is very delicious (be sure to make reservations) and the service is amazing, everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the Delta King. I always seem to end up on the Delta King whenever I visit Old Sac, even if it's to see the view of the Tower Bridge by the paddle wheel at sunset.
Fun place to get reasonably priced drinks. Lots of seating definitely helped!
Friendly staff, the rooms are small but that is to be expected on an old riverboat. Great views, and you can walk outside into Old Sac for dining, shopping, etc.
A unique place to stay, a trip to the past. Outstanding service and all the antiques in the room were functional. The quality of the food at the bar and restaurant was exceptional. Parking in Old Town is free in the evenings and early morning, with a couple of parking structures nearby. The views are great, convenient location with comfortable rooms. The Delta King is a great lodging value in Sacramento.
It was a unique experience staying aboard the Delta King paddlewheel boat. It used to travel along the Sacramento River, but today it goes nowhere....just a hotel. The sign when you get there says it is cheaper to use their valet to park than to pay the regular garage rate, so that is what we did. The very friendly efficient valet parking guy was great. He parked our car and brought our bags to our room which was a river view room. Rooms are very clean, have large bathrooms and comfy beds. For those who have problems walking, as does my husband, be aware that to get aboard you have to cross some railroad tracks, walk down a ramp and up stairs to get to your room. There are no elevators. Absolutely everyone who works aboard the Delta King is very helpful and friendly. Food is delicious......even the orange juice is fresh squeezed. Somehow, being on a boat seems to make the guests more friendly than you would find in a regular hotel. We met so many interesting people. Be aware that if you go in the summer, it can be beastly hot. Our first day it hit 106. But the evenings are balmy and wonderful. In the evening we like to sit out on the deck, have a cocktail and watch the activity on the river. The Delta King has a terrific location right next to Old Sacramento where there is plenty to do. Our favorite thing was the Railroad Museum. If you go there, be sure to do a guided tour (included in the entry fee) rather than just walking around reading the signs. It was fascinating seeing all the old trains and hearing about the history of the area. Lastly, I want to give our thanks to the parking valet who was so helpful!!
nice valet parking guy
Great service and the food was delicious as well. I couldn't have asked for a better lunch.
First time on the Delta King, and it was very nice. The room was great and the staff was friendly.
They canceled our reservations without informing us, and then told us that if we wanted to go we would have to pay a large "party" fee the day of the reservation totally ruining our plans. Do not go here, they are cheep scammers.
This place is historically magical, if you enjoy boats
Nice decor and history. 2pm on a Thursday and the place was empty
Cute hotel. Quick check in and friendly staff. My only disappointment was how dusty the place was and Cobwebs on the ceiling.
Stayed here last night with my husband and my biggest complaint is the bed. The bed is hard as a rock and the pillows flat! We are in are early 30's and the people who come here are 40+ crowd. Not sure if I'll come back but if we do, it won't be to stay the night.
The Delta King is a gorgeous backdrop for photos, as well as a great restaurant. Highly recommended.
That place is better! I really liked the food and you drink. The bartender has talent in cocktails. And the river is beautiful. Very funny.
Really enjoy staying on the Delta King. Fun experience. The murder mystery dinner is always a fun time. Good food. Sit out on the balcony overlooking the river with drinks is a great way to spend the evening.
They have a great restaurant inside. The rooms are a little small, but what do you expect from a Riverboat from the 1800s. The waitstaff in the restaurant will either ignore you or take really good care of you... kind of just depends on the get.
It was a vary nice hotel I would go there again just to enjoy the historical heritage of a riverboat.
Had a light meal and a drink at the bar. Great sefvice, great views!
My husband & I spent the night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We got a nicer room than we thought we were getting. It had a lovely view. The A/C worked very well. The entire ship has clearly been lovingly & carefully restored to have modern niceties but look as similar as possible to its bygone era. We had dinner & breakfast aboard & the food was of good quality & variety, & the service was also good. (I definitely recommend the package we arranged, which included one night's stay, dinner w/ Suspects murder mystery dinner theater & complimentary hot breakfast the next day). The front desk staffers were both very patient & friendly. The valet parking staff were also very nice to deal with.
Stopped by to meet friends for lunch and drinks. Great service and a fun place to enjoy a good catch up!
Horrible hotel. It was noisy, the walls are so thin. The people on the lake blast music loudly and you can hear everything way too easily. I heard people above me, outside my door, outside my window, down the hall, and on the lake. I just couldn't relax. The bed was uncomfortable, creaky. The bathroom was dirty. There was dust and hair on the floor as if it hasn't been swept. I will not be returning. It may look beautiful but please, stay somewhere else.
When we first started looking for a wedding venue, we didn't know about this boat. We had seen it for years and knew it was a hotel but never knew it was a restaurant with wonderful food & a wedding venue. We came in for a tour & fell in love. Our original venue was plain, boring, & nothing to WOW you with. But this boat is adorable & inspirable. You have to have a love for older historical places because boy does this boat have a colorful history. We booked it immediately which fully inspired our decor & theme. I'm pretty crafty and I created "Passport" Save the Dates & "Boarding Pass" Invitations that had the boats emblem on it. Everyone thought it was authentic invitations from the boat itself. We used driftwood from Folsom Lake with faux flowers as centerpieces. My Husband to be made pier poles for our ceremony. The staff was awesome we really couldn't have ask for a better coordinator. Janice B. really went above & beyond to make the experience from start to finish smooth & really put my mind at ease. The night of the wedding the servers were friendly & the food was really great (That was straight from our guests). I didn't hear any complaints about the quality of the food. We had our ceremony at 6:00pm on the Landing Dock just along the side of the boat. The landing dock has been fully replaced and I was thankful for that. It was a hot day but at that time the dock is shaded & a cool breeze was running through & complementary water was served also. We had our reception in the Paddlewheel Saloon and at night the large window shows all the lights of the city & is very romantic. The room has a bar in it & the dance floor right in front of the big red paddlewheel.
I would recommend this venue to everyone. Take a tour, learn the history, View the photos online, & head up to their bar and grill afterwards. Sit out on the deck overlooking the river. Be sure to try their flourless chocolate cake with vanilla bean Ice cream. You will be amazed like we were.
The mystery dinner was fun but the food wasn't really that good.
Unique spot to stay. Very convenient. Helpful, friendly staff. Comparably priced to other hotels, but probably a better location, with full breakfast included.
Spent a couple of nights here with the wife. A great experience we had. The room was small but, we expected this since it's a Riverboat. If we wanted a typical hotel style room, we would of stayed at The Embassy Suites in the area. We liked our room here and we knew what to expect. We attended the dinner / show downstairs which was also a great time. The food was good too! Had a few drinks at the bar upstairs afterwards then strolled around old town. When done we made our way back to our Riverboat cabin. Great time on a cool historic boat. Gotta try it at least once. It's a joy and experience!
The rooms are not fancy, but they're quite serviceable and they offer valet parking. A charming ambiance fits the boat's 1920's era. This is a perfect place to stay for a walking tour through Old Town across the street, and the Sacramento Rivercats baseball stadium is an easy walk around the corner and over the bridge. The restaurant is excellent! We expect to return again!
Good food and friendly service. We had the ribeye steak which was delicious.
Great hotel in an old rehabed riverboat floating on the river. Nice restaurant and attentative staff. Only two things... 1) the mattress was threadbare spring-in-the-back garbage & 2) there's an inch above the door because of swelling which lets in bugs. Besides those two small things, if you can stand em, I'd recommend the hotel.
Nice hotel with great views.
The staff are awesome and from what I've seen follow all Covid guidelines and maybe even going a step further by having you sign with disinfected pens.
You really can't go wrong with this choice.
Only rating 4 stars. Obviously with Covid-19 it's not that busy so when I went for breakfast around 9:40am the place was empty and didn't see any staff or a single light on so the included breakfast was not included.
Very nice decor, very nice. My omelet was excellent, one of the better omelet I have had. Service was quick and very pleasant.
