Room perfect, complementary breakfast excellent, good night sleep outstanding, checkout painless.
Did not book a room, but did enjoy the view around the perimeter. Definitely take a look around Old Sac if you have the time.
Excellent atmosphere, beautiful views of the river. Our entire group thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Easy access to old town for shopping dining, and strolling around.
It was my first visit to the Delta King Hotel. Sat on the deck with a friend and her boyfriend and had drinks and enjoyed the evening watching the boats. Wait staff was pleasant was greeted when he came in and our drinks were served quickly period will definitely return again to take in the view of the water and have drinks!
Enjoyed our stay. Great location. The parking was easy (garage a block away). We loved our room (Riverview state room) and the bar (with enjoyable live music). Only drawback is fairly noisy neighboring properties and non-guests coming into the guest-only areas...a few questionable characters. Would stay here again.
We recently attended a memorial service held in one of the meeting spaces below deck at the Delta King. Our group was about sixty people. It was a nice size space at the rear of the boat near the paddlewheel with a view of the river. After the service, we had a catered lunch of prime rib, turkey and roasted vegetables. Walking around the ship, there are a number of presentations that speak to the historical service of the Delta King. We used the valet parking out front that has horribly slow service. There was a mix up with the parking validation, we were given credit for the parking garage instead of the valet and they weren't interested in helping us resolve the mix up. Valet ended up costing $12 instead of the expected $8 with validation.
The Delta King Hotel is located in Old Sacramento. The atmosphere is welcoming with a touch of old fashioned charm.
This was at the banquit section. Food was cold, bread had mold in it at multiple tables, hair and not the pleasant kind in the food.
Was in the lower banquet room for a staff party. It was a very location. Wish they kept track of the food items that were running out in the buffet style dinner and also wish the dance floor was a little bigger. I guess you can't renovate a boat that easily though! Food was delicious and view was amazing.
Small room. The website pictures are deciving. The room had an awful smell in it abd we kept hearing people in the upstairs walking around.
We ate at The Pilot House resteraunt. The food and service were great.
It was fun to stay here. The valet parking is worth the extra 4 bucks to not carry your luggage from the parking garage. The cabins are super small and have tiny vintage sinks. That was part of the charm to see vintage luxury. The did put in bathrooms with showers in the room so it is not like some old places with the bathrooms down the hall.
The main problem was the bed. It was not comfortable and woke up with discomfort on my back.
We have stayed on board a few times and truly love it! The rooms are quite small but comfortable and charming. This is the first time we ate in the Pilot House Restaurant though. The menu is wonderful but we "only" had the Kobe beef burgers More
Great place.Great food and drinks,Also great service and views.
Excellent environment, great food, service was good
Stayed in the deluxe river view suite. Needed a bathtub for my mom. The staff was very accommodating. It's the quaintness of the place that charms. It has history. Clawfoot bathtub ,wow! And valet in and out parking is really affordable. Staying in old town kept us walking distance to all. Oh and the food on the Delta is awesome too!!! Highly recommend.
A family member and I came to the restaurant for lunch. I ordered pasta and she ordered a salad and cheese platter. Everything tasted really nice. Good, efficient service and quaint atmosphere rounded out our experience.
The food was amazing. Atmosphere was alright, but it was the history of the place that caught my interest.
Food, atmosphere, drinks and service are fantastic. Staff is incredibly attentive and friendly. Check this place out.
Wonderful staff, free breakfast, valet parking. The rooms are small but nice and the view is beautiful.
Went to the suspects murder mystery dinner and had a blast
Forgot to take pictures of our yummy food our server was excellent.
Drinks are good, a little pricier then some places. Staff is nice and the ambiance is great
Old Riverboat style. Most rooms are small, but very nice. Moderately expensive. Great restaurant.
Wonderful renovated steam ship. Rooms are small but delightful. Breakfast is included and delicious.
Service was absolutely amazing the rooms were nice expecially at night over looking the water
Staying on the Delta King was a delight. I was only able to stay one night, traveling for work, but still worth it and plan to come back for a longer vacation stay. The room was charming, authentic but with the needed amenities. Situated close to everything in the historic district, easy walking. I highly recommend considering as an alternative to generic hotels. Didn't have opportunity to eat at the hotel, but the dining room was lovely. Great historical location, I'm a fan.
Second stay! Fun, nice people, valet parking, great breakfast!
My wife and I kicked off our vacation here for Lunch. The food was incredible and the service was very friendly! We shared the Spanish mushrooms, I had the Fish & Chips and she had the Cheeseburger. I highly recommend The Delta King for a relaxing meal by the water.
The rooms are small (it is a boat after all) and the cleanliness is a bit substandard. But the location is quaint and the food is delicious. The Delta King is a great place to stay on vacation, maybe not so great for a business trip. Staff are friendly and accommodating.
Perfect spot for a inexpensive and fairly nice date with great view of Sacramento River.
Right on the river, valet service, fabulous location in Old Sacramento, a very nice restaurant and bar, the rooms were nice and the boat had a wonderfully warm feel.
This was our first time staying onboard and we had a great time. The Delta King is the sister ship of the Delta Queen that was located on the banks of the Ohio River in Cincinnati where my wife and I grew up. We had been to the Pilothouse Restaurant previously which is also onboard and we really liked it. We had family visiting from Ohio and wanted to do something interesting and fun so we booked two deluxe river view rooms. We had dinner at the Pilothouse after we checked in. This was during the COVID-19 nonsense so all dining was on the deck which was great in July. The rooms were reminiscent of the era of the steam paddler with original fixtures and modern upgrades like a very comfortable bed and linens, heating and air conditioning. The room opened on to the top deck and we did have some people sitting on the deck outside of our room talking late at night, but other than that it was a really fun experience. We will be back with friends that we know would appreciate this nostalgic gem.
Such a great place to check out. Provides some awesome views of the city.
All employees were very nice, accommodating and welcoming. We loved it!
It's a unique little bar are. A little pricey but worth a visit
This place dripped with history. The rooms gave you a feel for what it was like back in Delta Kings prime. Breakfast was delicious with good variety. Service was exceptional. If you are into history, this is must do.
Loved the atmosphere. We enjoyed a couple of drinks with good friends in a relaxed environment. Great waiter! We will be back!
Very friendly staff. Great breakfast provided! This is a very nice place to visit with family and friends. You have to be careful if you have younger kids, however. The boat is not up to safety standards. It would be easy for anyone to climb over the rails and end up in the water.
The meeting spaces were fine. The restaurant had nice food and fine views of the river. The rooms are pricey and dated. Tall people will need to watch their heads in and out of the bathrooms. The internet is not great for business clients. The room smelled of cleaner throughout my stay and the door was drafty. Heater did not work. A one time thing to try.
I loved it the venue was super cool and unoriginal. Drinks were pricy but I expected that. Had never been on it after living in West Sacramento for 21 years
Beautiful inside, although some construction was in progress during my visit. Staff were not sure where to direct me for my event. Food was good.
A great way place to have breakfast with friends. The Pilot House Restaurant serves it up with good coffee and a tasty Salmon Benedict. And it overlooks the river. Prices were reasonable as well.
Such a fun experience on the Delta King! The lounge is awesome.
Great place to stay and have great staff. Natalie was very kind and needs a raise.
We had a very nice stay at the Delta King Hotel. The room was very cool and unique. The view of the river and bridges was beautiful. The complimentary breakfast was much better than the usual food served for free at hotels. The service was also great. The view was more of the same and we enjoyed it.
Lovey accommodation a fun place to stay. A little disappointed in the Murder Mystery event. I thought it was going to be a true who done it. get the clues and solve. It was more slapstick. Still a fun time
The server seemed annoyed at our presence and the setting wasn't as romantic as I wanted but the food was good and we got a free desert which was amazing.
Interesting old paddlewheel riverboat located near Sacramento Old Town.
This was a surprise/last minute trip I booked for my son and I. It was great, comfortable room, good price, located in old town, great for walking around on a summer night. Absolutely will go back.
Attended a wedding here. It is truly a unique location and the food was fantastic.
Had dinner and drinks on a Saturday night in the bar. Drinks were spectacular and the food was to die for. Definitely making it a regular thing.
Small rooms, good food at the onboard restaurant. Unfortunately, homeless and drug use near the public park along the river make this historical place one to be careful about, outside entertainment and dancing is nice. Pleasant views. Quiet and peaceful
They were very accommodating and very pleasant to dine with!
Decent prices, decent food and selection and atmosphere. Would come again!
Awesome people who work there, very friendly and polite. Everyone you talk to is very helpful with just about anything and the suspect dinner is fantastic! If you loved the game "CLUE" growing up then you would love this.
Plumbing was very loud but otherwise super charming experience!
Thought a stay on the Delta King would be an adventure, believe me it was. Spotty internet onboard the boat and actually none in my room. Housekeeping should spend more time cleaning the rooms, my room had cobwebs in the ceiling corners and pieces of trash that should not have been overlooked. The last day of my stay the AC system on the boat was inoperative to include overnight which made sleeping impossible. When I checked out the next day I asked how they were going to compensate the guests for a sleepless night? I was comped one day of my valet parking cost, $25.00. Thanks a lot. Would not recommend staying on the Delta King.
Great spot for exploring downtown Sacramento. Decent price for the room and valet parking was helpful. Great view of the river and a nice complementry breakfast included on the boat. Definitely a fun and unique experience! :)
Wanted to like it more. Room was small. Limited access to parts of boat. Bar was lively however. And obviously close to Old Sacramento. Valet required for overnight parking unless you park in lot several blocks away.
Time travel and live in a lifetime lost. Delta King is a beautiful paddle boat renovated into bar, hotel, and ballroom. Staff is accommodating... I want to do the murder dinner theater soon! Lp
The service was really good and the food was great would definitely go back
Limited access due to wedding party on board when I attended but the bar was nice and different from other places in sac
Went here for a comedy murder mystery night on a work party. It was so much fun. Great time!
Went for a few drinks and snacks. Excellent service.
Went to a mystery murder dinner on board. Lots of fun with my other half. Would do it again sometime.
My family participated in the Suspects dinner theater. The actors were great, but the restaurant left much to be desired. The manager was downright rude to us on multiple occasions, and the food was mediocre at best.
It's amazing for the novelty! If you legitimately need to rest for work or another sporting event pass on it as it is a stretch to call it comfortable. Especially if you are big and/or tall. I am 5'2 and felt like the doors and rooms were small.
