Went to the Bessborough for a wedding, had a great time. Wonderful service and delicious food.
Went to the Bessborough for a wedding, had a great time. Wonderful service and delicious food.
Very nice Historic hotel with a good location close to the river and downtown. Rooms are well kept and updated but still retain their classic look and feel
Attended the jazz festival there. Great experience, other than having to dump my water bottle out at the door.
Don't use the valet parking. Items from your vehicle will mysteriously disappear.
The Bessborough is a perfect venue for events like fashion shows, charity balls, and birthday parties. It is a very easy venue to navigate, and I always look forward to events hosted here.
Wonderful looking hotel, staff was extremely helpful with all our requests
Have attended many Christmas parties at this location and the food is always been great. This last time however, our table was one of the last to be ushered to the buffet table and by the time we arrived some of the main course dishes were no longer present on the buffet setting. If a character look is what you're going for this is the place for you. Without the natural lighting of daylight hours the interior is not as well lit as more modern facilities are. If you're attending a function here don't be late as parking can be a challenge. Staying at this location has its benefits due to its close proximity to the downtown core. Just a few things nearby are the Farmers Market, Art Gallery, Ukrainian Museum and shopping mall or you can enjoy a scenic view along the banks of the South Saskatchewan River.
I went in to reserve a room for my wedding night and came upon some snags. 2 weeks away from the new year and they couldn't input reservations for anything but the current year (which seemed a little silly). And when some little girls came in looking to use a phone, the receptionist couldn't help because there are rules against it. Besides that it is a beautiful building and I can't wait to finally reserve the room and spend the night!
As many of us have been limited in our travelling in recent months (I have not been out of town for over seven months) I was very happy to land in Saskatoon at this lovely residence at a time where it wasn't -35 and blowing a gale.
Full marks for COVID management. Full marks for a beautiful location.
Great hotel with a nice decor. The only downside to this hotel is its age. Although some mind find the appeal in that. They have a great pool and sauna area. Sauna takes a long time to warm up and the pool area is very cold. The rooms are nice and the breakfast restaurant is serving delicious food even though the service is a bit slow
Beautiful hotel locates in the heart of downtown Saskatoon, only real problem is parking lot! Food is good, nothing special! Good staff
This hotel is right downtow and convenient to everything. The staff is excellent to deal with. Rooms have all been updated. I believe you get good value for your money.
very clean rooms ...fantastic staff everywhere in hotel
Lots of pokestops and nice pokemon spawns, i dont like people.
This hotel is nice with a beautiful location overlooking the river however, the walls are paper thin. You can hear everyone in the hall and people in the room next door to you.
Luxurious rooms, great service. The club level access, in my opinion isn't really anything special, but the hotel is beautiful, especially with a riverside view
Went there for a drink with a friend and had a great experience. Good service, good drink and liked the atmosphere.
Went to the Samurai restaurant and it was fantastic as always. The food was delicious, the service fantastic and the company couldnt have been better.
Hotel is very clean, front end staff was very professional. The bar staff were quick with fun personalities.
Attended the Sask Jazz Festival with the hotel as the venue. Great venue, beautiful and scenic. Clean, well laid out and great architecture
Went to the samurai for dinner. The food was ok. Service was very good.
Amazing location facing downtown Saskatoon. Within walking distance to anything you desire. We stayed in the 5th floor overlooking the river. Small rooms but the older style building and amazing stone work make up for it. Excellent mattresses and bathrooms. Pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room where fun as well. Only thing I couldn't change was the way to get to the pool is through the front lobby. For some that could be uncomfortable during busy hours.
This is a very classy hotel. Even though it's a historical building, the rooms are newly renovated and pretty clean. Staff are nice and helpful! Highly recommend if you're staying in Saskatoon downtown.
Brunch was delicious with very friendly and helpful staff
We walked outside the building for the Jazz festival and the facility was very well kept
Overall, incredibly disappointing.
The highlights? Room service was phenomenal. That flourless cake? Omgah. Delivery service was so pleasant - included an extra fork for dessert, and a personalized hand written card to accompany.
Check in was fine, nothing over the top. Bell service was great - found someone to help me at the desk when the other associate was busy with another guest (I didn't even ask!).
Then I checked into my room...suddenly I was transported to the local dingy motel. The peeling wallpaper and water damage(as pictured) was pretty gross, and not what I'd expect from such a hotel, especially with the price I paid for a river view. Not new either - this was dry and flaky and clearly had been here for some time.
And lucky me! I got placed next to a family with at least three small children who let me know that 7am was definitely too late to be awake. Lots of screaming and crying - next time I've learned to ask for a quiet room.
Upon checkout, no one bothered to ask how my stay was. Little surprising, no? I explained the wallpaper, and showed pictures, and there wasn't much more than an "I'm sorry." Perhaps if I was less understanding, something would have been done? It's not like it's the front desk's fault, but again, a loss on simple customer service.
I filled out a survey, and was contacted by Lizeth, an "Assitant" Manager. I pointed out her error in spelling, and gave her my contact info to discuss my experience. Radio silence. Again, another nail in the coffin on poor customer service and follow up.
Given the rest of the positive reviews I saw before making my booking, perhaps this is a one off. But an overall fail, and definitely not a chain I will be booking with in future.
Loved this hotel. Has a lot of history, they ve updated the room, but kept the old-time feel and look. Staff was great, helpful, friendly, and professional. I had the river-side view, which was gorgeous, especially in the winter (at least for me). Room service food was also good, tasty, and timely. Would definitely stay here again next time I m in Saskatoon.
We were in the hotel to do a photo shoot. It went great and the staff were really nice and helpful!
I was there for a professional event and the staff was lovely, and the food was excellent
We've stayed here twice now, but probably won't again in the future because we've learned about more modern boutique hotels in the past while. The park and River access is superb here, and that's what keeps the hotel solid, far as I'm concerned.
Nice central hotel with excellent facilities. The bar code a little too early
Went for Halloween party .. it's just awesome .. great staff very friendly educated and well mannered .. beautiful hotel room. excellent service
The hotel is very majestic and elegant. the staff was friendly and very helpful. Rooms were clean and cozy.
Epic service and burgers. Beautiful grounds and cool festivals at the only River side patio in Saskatoon!
I didn't actually go into the hotel. I was attending the Saskatoon Jazz Festival outside in the Bessborough Garden where I saw Amanda Marshall. Venue was great. Didn't get there early enough so our view was hindered by a big tree. Lots of spectators were hanging off the fence to view the concert. Not a lot of security around.
Incredible experience and stay. Iconic location and modern service. 10/10
The single resturant is exceedingly slow. If you have a shedule to keep don't risk it. Average food at premium pirices isn't worth an hour plus out of my morning.
Been a while since I stayed here, but it's a nice hotel with nice rooms. I'd certainly recommend it.
We recently had our work Christmas party here and it was wonderful. The food was very good and the staff were friendly and prompt, drinks were well made. The hotel rooms are nice and clean.
A railroad hotel built in the early 1900's. The hotel has been through multiple renovations but still maintains the class and charm of an old railroad style hotel.
There is a huge garden in the back that hosts multiple events in both summer and winter. The Bessborough Gardens is one of the main venues for the Saskatchewan Jazz festival.
Nice hotel, very clean, good breakfast. The water is hot in the morning, so that's all that matters!
Beautiful architecture. Looks like a castle. Love the color theme inside & outside if the room. View of the water and street head on.
It looks amazing from the outside. The gothic Eastern European architecture is just stunning. The river side park where swans were taking sun bath in the green carpet.
A stunning CP hotel in the city center of Saskatoon.
Fine Hotel. A Saskatoon landmark. However I just heard that they hired an outside consultant from New York and have decided to replace the Samurai Teppanyaki restaurant with an "Upscale Casual Dining Experience". Like we don't have enough of those in Saskatoon. We need more UNIQUE dining experiences in Saskatoon, like the Samurai, not less. Ugly move by corporate. Out of principal, I'll be taking my future business elsewhere.
The venue was wonderful, the staff were very personal and the food was fantastic. The Bez is a beautiful piece of architecture and always a pleasure to be in
Beautiful old 'castle' style hotel right on the river in downtown Saskatoon
Great service and courteous staff. Rooms are nice, but it took 15 minutes for the shower to get lukewarm water. The room heating is quite cold too.
Just visited with someone staying there but seened neat and clean
The location of the hotel was right in the heart of downtown. The style of building has a classical look which makes it look like a luxury hotel. The staff was very friendly and helped during breakfast and guest entry. Overall the hotel was a very enjoyable stay.
Beautiful building, went for the jazzfest and had a great time
I was in the lobby for 15 minutes. It was very clean and well kept.
