Have attended many Christmas parties at this location and the food is always been great. This last time however, our table was one of the last to be ushered to the buffet table and by the time we arrived some of the main course dishes were no longer present on the buffet setting. If a character look is what you're going for this is the place for you. Without the natural lighting of daylight hours the interior is not as well lit as more modern facilities are. If you're attending a function here don't be late as parking can be a challenge. Staying at this location has its benefits due to its close proximity to the downtown core. Just a few things nearby are the Farmers Market, Art Gallery, Ukrainian Museum and shopping mall or you can enjoy a scenic view along the banks of the South Saskatchewan River.

I went in to reserve a room for my wedding night and came upon some snags. 2 weeks away from the new year and they couldn't input reservations for anything but the current year (which seemed a little silly). And when some little girls came in looking to use a phone, the receptionist couldn't help because there are rules against it. Besides that it is a beautiful building and I can't wait to finally reserve the room and spend the night!

As many of us have been limited in our travelling in recent months (I have not been out of town for over seven months) I was very happy to land in Saskatoon at this lovely residence at a time where it wasn't -35 and blowing a gale.

Full marks for COVID management. Full marks for a beautiful location.

Great hotel with a nice decor. The only downside to this hotel is its age. Although some mind find the appeal in that. They have a great pool and sauna area. Sauna takes a long time to warm up and the pool area is very cold. The rooms are nice and the breakfast restaurant is serving delicious food even though the service is a bit slow

Amazing location facing downtown Saskatoon. Within walking distance to anything you desire. We stayed in the 5th floor overlooking the river. Small rooms but the older style building and amazing stone work make up for it. Excellent mattresses and bathrooms. Pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room where fun as well. Only thing I couldn't change was the way to get to the pool is through the front lobby. For some that could be uncomfortable during busy hours.

This is a very classy hotel. Even though it's a historical building, the rooms are newly renovated and pretty clean. Staff are nice and helpful! Highly recommend if you're staying in Saskatoon downtown.

Overall, incredibly disappointing.

Overall, incredibly disappointing.

The highlights? Room service was phenomenal. That flourless cake? Omgah. Delivery service was so pleasant - included an extra fork for dessert, and a personalized hand written card to accompany.

Check in was fine, nothing over the top. Bell service was great - found someone to help me at the desk when the other associate was busy with another guest (I didn't even ask!).

Then I checked into my room...suddenly I was transported to the local dingy motel. The peeling wallpaper and water damage(as pictured) was pretty gross, and not what I'd expect from such a hotel, especially with the price I paid for a river view. Not new either - this was dry and flaky and clearly had been here for some time.

And lucky me! I got placed next to a family with at least three small children who let me know that 7am was definitely too late to be awake. Lots of screaming and crying - next time I've learned to ask for a quiet room.

Upon checkout, no one bothered to ask how my stay was. Little surprising, no? I explained the wallpaper, and showed pictures, and there wasn't much more than an "I'm sorry." Perhaps if I was less understanding, something would have been done? It's not like it's the front desk's fault, but again, a loss on simple customer service.

I filled out a survey, and was contacted by Lizeth, an "Assitant" Manager. I pointed out her error in spelling, and gave her my contact info to discuss my experience. Radio silence. Again, another nail in the coffin on poor customer service and follow up.

Given the rest of the positive reviews I saw before making my booking, perhaps this is a one off. But an overall fail, and definitely not a chain I will be booking with in future.

Loved this hotel. Has a lot of history, they ve updated the room, but kept the old-time feel and look. Staff was great, helpful, friendly, and professional. I had the river-side view, which was gorgeous, especially in the winter (at least for me). Room service food was also good, tasty, and timely. Would definitely stay here again next time I m in Saskatoon.

We've stayed here twice now, but probably won't again in the future because we've learned about more modern boutique hotels in the past while. The park and River access is superb here, and that's what keeps the hotel solid, far as I'm concerned.

I didn't actually go into the hotel. I was attending the Saskatoon Jazz Festival outside in the Bessborough Garden where I saw Amanda Marshall. Venue was great. Didn't get there early enough so our view was hindered by a big tree. Lots of spectators were hanging off the fence to view the concert. Not a lot of security around.

A railroad hotel built in the early 1900's. The hotel has been through multiple renovations but still maintains the class and charm of an old railroad style hotel.
There is a huge garden in the back that hosts multiple events in both summer and winter. The Bessborough Gardens is one of the main venues for the Saskatchewan Jazz festival.

Fine Hotel. A Saskatoon landmark. However I just heard that they hired an outside consultant from New York and have decided to replace the Samurai Teppanyaki restaurant with an "Upscale Casual Dining Experience". Like we don't have enough of those in Saskatoon. We need more UNIQUE dining experiences in Saskatoon, like the Samurai, not less. Ugly move by corporate. Out of principal, I'll be taking my future business elsewhere.

The location of the hotel was right in the heart of downtown. The style of building has a classical look which makes it look like a luxury hotel. The staff was very friendly and helped during breakfast and guest entry. Overall the hotel was a very enjoyable stay.
